Running a batch file kept on the server

Hi ,
I need to upload a file onto the application server then i have to call a batch file from my ABAP code kept on the same server .
The batch file takes 3 inputs the uploaded filename onto the server the new file name ( that can be any name ) and the delete flag parameter ( 0 or 1 ).
Is there any function module to do the same ??

Hi,
Follow the steps:
1) Define external operating system command say zcopytm1 using SM69 by using the following parameters:
Command name                            Operating system       Type
ZCOPYTM1                                Windows NT             Customer
Operating system command
e:\tm1out\tm1ph.bat
Parameters for operating system command
Leave this blank
tm1ph.bat is the batch file which it will execute.
2) First test it using SM49. Once satisfied use the following code to execute it thru ABAP:
DATA: BEGIN OF t_copy OCCURS 1.
        INCLUDE STRUCTURE btcxpm.
DATA: END OF t_copy.
DATA:      statusline LIKE btcxp3-exitstat.
  CALL FUNCTION 'SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE'
         EXPORTING
            commandname            = 'zcopytm1'
            status                              = statusline

  • Run remote batch file from Web Application Server

    Hello,
    I've developyed a Java program and deployed it on WAS v7.1.
    My java program tries to run a remote batch file which is located on remote Windows file system (and not on the WAS file system itself).
    The batch file was launched on the remote server (I saw it on the Task Manager of the remote server), but the remote batch file actually wasn't run (it was stuck).
    In order to run the remote batch file from my java program that is deployed on the WAS I've created a batch file on the WAS file system which its contnet is:
    cd c:\jobs
    psexec.exe
    iltlvt40 -u SAPServiceCE1 -p a2i2000! c:\automation\DiskSpace\runDiskSpace.bat
    The jobs folder contains the psexec.exe file (you can find more details about the psexec on this link: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897553.aspx).
    iltlvt40 is the remote server.
    SAPServiceCE1/a2i2000! is a user/password on the remote server which has a full permissions.
    My java program calls this batch file using the Runtime.exec() java method in order to run the remote batch file.
    Please guide me how to solve this problem?
    Best regards,
    Ahmad

    Hi,
    To which batch file you have meant to add some commands: for the local one or remote?
    I've added to the local one some different commands and it's works.
    I think there is a permission problem when we are trying to go out of the WAS file system.
    Best regards,
    Ahmad

  • Running a batch file on ftp server

    HI All,
    i am trying to use Command line facility of file adapter to run a batch file..

    mkdir ranjeet.
    how should i call this batch file from file adapter..
    i tried putting batch file name in the command line section. I had copied the batch file on ftp server at location of Target Directory..but in audit log of adapter i am getting error as OS command cannot be executed..

    Ranjeet,
    >>ok..but what will command to be run of ftp run..
    How do you expect any one of us to know what your ftp server is based on.
    The previous reply by Carme has answered your XI query and to the point. You acknowledge it with a <b>ok</b>!! I guess it is too rude on your part.
    Anway answering your question, that depends on your FTP server. Log in to your FTP server manally and try executing these commands and check.

  • Trying to run a batch file in ODI and the file is on a windows network drive.

    Hi,
    I'm trying to run a batch file that is located on a windows shared drive for the ODI server. When I try to run the file through OS command by giving the file path in the "command line". I get the error "
    ODI-1226: Step fails after 1 attempt(s).
    ODI-1242: Operating system command execution fails."
    Please let me know if this can be done.

    Hi,
    First try to execute your batch file, if it is executing as expected.
    Then use OdiOSCommand tool and give full path of script and also give a path to create error file & out file.
    Execute the batch now via OdiOSCommand, if it fails then you will receive error message in Error file.
    Also check if you have rights to script being executed via ODI.
    Thanks,
    DK

  • Running a Batch File on another Server with an Oracle Job

    hi, i have the following code
    BEGIN
    DBMS_SCHEDULER.CREATE_JOB (
    job_name => 'test_job_bat',
    job_type => 'EXECUTABLE',
    job_action => '\\10.1.1.63\test\test.bat',
    enabled => true,
    comments => 'test bat'
    END;
    So i want to run a batch file, which lies on another pc in the network
    The code runs, without a failure.
    The bat file just contains "MD D:\bla" .
    When i run the code, no bla directory is created, so it seems that the batch file never ran.
    i approved read/write on the test folder. (Windows 7 machine)
    any ideas?

  • Problems Force Running a batch file

    Hi There,
    I am trying to force-run a batch file to copy files from a local NBO Appliance to the C:\tmp directory on the user's workstation. The batch file lives at c:\tmp\branding.bat.
    I cant get the batch file to force run. Zen reporting advises that the batch file has distributed and launched successfully, however the files do not copy.
    However, if i click on the icon for the batch file app - the files copy no problem. I have tried running Workstation Associated and (Unrestricted) User Associated as well as Workstation - Force Run as User.
    Path to executable file:
    %*WinSysDir%\cmd.exe
    Parameters:
    /c "c:\tmp\branding.bat"
    Any ideas? The batch file has to refer to the P: drive as the application covers 40 different sites each with their own appliance containing source files.
    Running NBO2 - ZFD 4 Agent 4.0.1.60 - Clientless
    Desktop XP Workstations
    Thanks

    Have the app object copy the batch file to the hard drive from the
    server and then run it locally. This should work with a Middle Tier server.

  • Running a batch file to invoke reports runtime

    Hi,
    I'd like to run a batch file at the end of every month automatically, which runs a report and sends the output in a mail. Is there a way to run this batch file without using cron job? We do not have unix environment at our place.
    ThanX.

    hello,
    on windows NT you have the AT functionality which is basic scheduling. however if you are using the oracle reports server you can schedule the report inside the server itself.

    This should work for you-
    Create a batch file on your current server (ODI) and write in the path to the other batch file on the other server.
    //Server2completename/D$/Path/yourbatchfile.bat
    From ODI call your batch file that you created on the same machine.. which will inturn call the other batch file on a different machine to execute batch client.
    Also can you paste the errors that you may be getting.. need to check if you are getting any specific issue related to this.
    Thanks

  • How we can create the batch file to download the data in from URL in ssis

    hi,
    any one help on one the below requirement.
    i have to create one batch file to download the report(reports is in csv format) from URL...
    requirement should be like this...
    1. we have some reports is there in the URL..
    2.when ever we execute the url, the report should be download and save it to the local folder.
    3. this requirement i have to write in the batch file
    should any one let me know how we can create the batch file for the above requirement.

    Hi Priya.N,
    If you use SQL Server Reporting Services for reporting, you can use Visakh’s suggestion to create a script file which calls Reporting Services Web Service to render a report in CSV format and save a batch file to the destination folder, and then create a
    batch file to run the rs.exe utility which can executes the .rss script file. For more information, please see:
    Report Server Web Service
    ReportExecutionService.Render Method
    rs Utility (rs.exe) (SSRS)
    If you use other reporting tools, it depends on the reporting functionality and this requirement may be not achieved.

  • How to run a batch file clicking a button?

    Hi All,
    Can you tell me anyone how to run a batch file clicking a button? And also the progress bar showing the progress.
    Arif

    As said: write the insert statement like above (of course replace the databaselink, column and table names with your own) in a stored procedure and call this procedure in the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED Trigger.
    As for the progress bar: how many records are you processing and how is the network connection between your database server? As above method is rather fast it might take just a few seconds and you could spare you the progress bar (this might be a little tricky to implement).
    cheers
