Running a droplet causes non-existent destination folder

Hi,
I have an action that opens a raw file, corrects for wide angle, and saves with same name. However when I run the droplet (created from it) I get:
Unable to Export:
The destination folder for this operation is missing.
/Users/juandent/Pictures/Lightroom Exports/corrected with droplet/Users/juandent/Pictures/Lightwoom Exports/
Any ideas?
Thanks
Juan

Is it a Lighrroom error message, not a Photoshop one? It sounds like you are running the export from a preset and something is wrong in the Export Location panel. Maybe try running it with Do Nothing as the post processing step.

  • Samba login on a Mountain Lion server shows a non existing home folder

    I have a 10.8.3 fileserver that also is a OD master.
    I have configured all users so they do not have a Home Folder ('None - Services Only') I did this since I have created separat "home" folders in the Share Point (I only have one) and have set the proper rights on those. They are basically Drop boxes for everyone other than the user that owns them.
    Logging on using AFP works like a charm but using SMB produces this weird folder, next to the shared folder, that has the same name as the user name. The contents in this "home" folder can be anything from the root of the shared folder to a subfolder. Somethimes it even shows stuff that I know for a fact does not exist in the shared folder at all. It almost looks like something from inside an .app (bundle) It's difficult to examine what it is since everytime I try to do something with the files they just dissapear.
    I have tested WinXp SP3, Win 7, Win 8 and OSX and all produces this weird folder.
    Anyone that has a clue what's going on?

    Here is the log I get when I log on using SMB:

  • Saving photos to the web by creating events. Called the destination folder does not exist.

    Hello,
    I ask you for advice (assistance). A week ago I re-installed the PC and installed to the computer again Photoshop CS5. Everything works for me except for the function of storing images for web by creating events. Called me constantly destination folder does not exist. The problem I had before. I ask you this advice on how to solve this problem.
    Thanks for the advice

    hi,
    i don't know if i integrate your code correctly, but it doens't work for me. I presently create skin for client and this plugin is really usefull for me.
    i use win7 64bit home edition, and photoshop cs5
    there is how i integrate this :
    // EDIT ALEX GRENIER
    function getPreferencesFolder() {
         var userData = Folder.userData;
         if (!userData || !userData.exists) {
              userData = Folder("~");
         var folder = new Folder(userData + "/xtools");
         if (!folder.exists) {
              folder.create();
         return folder;
    function exportChildren(dupObj, orgObj, dupDocRef, folder) {
    if (getCSVersion() >= 10) // CS3 Only
         // Create assets folder in Flex app's directory
         // var tempFolder;
         // tempFolder = new Folder (folder + "/assets/");
         // tempFolder.create();
         // EDIT ALEX GRENIER
         var tempFolder;
         tempFolder = getPreferencesFolder();
    i put the code creating the folder in comment and put your code in place, i also put your function before the function creating file.
    With the base code (without modification) photoshop is able to create my folder assets, but when it try to export the png, it export nothing, so i have a empty folder.
    thank you,
    Alex

    I am trying to run a flash movie located in a folder with non
    english characters (japanse, chinese). (Using latest flash 9

    The movie does not play at all. Moving the movie to another

    Previous version of flash 9 seems to work correctly.

    Freeing Up Space on The Hard Drive
      1. See Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks' Storage Display.
      2. You can remove data from your Home folder except for the /Home/Library/ folder.
      3. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on freeing up space on your hard drive.
      4. Also see Freeing space on your Mac OS X startup disk.
      5. See Where did my Disk Space go?.
      6. See The Storage Display.
    You must Empty the Trash in order to recover the space they occupied on the hard drive.
    You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits.
    Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located.
    You will need a minimum of 10-12 GBs of free space to install Yosemite, however, that is a bare minimum and should be at least twice that amount.

    An even simpler solution: Just execute the "New Directory" function and
    ignore any error returned.
    Or more correctly, use "File Info" and look at the error code. If no
    error is returned and the directory output is true, you are fine. No
    error and directory output is false means you have a conflict with a
    file already existing. An error output means you can go and try to
    create the dir.

  • I would like to use iPhoto to see existing Picture folder without importing

    The following is a question for Aperture, as well.
    I have a huge Picture file (90G), and I do not want iPhoto to import that Picture folder thereby making a duplicate. I only want one Picture file, the existing system folder called Pictures. And I want iPhoto to "reference" those files. I have seen references to setting up iPhoto (and Aperture) to use photos in outside libraries. I have seen them called "referenced"
    But I can't find a specific instruction on how to set up iPhoto to do this. And I think it is crazy to have an iPhoto library of 90G, and an aperture library of 90g (already made that mistake, want to get rid of it), because that would give me three sets pf photos, with Pictures, and iPhoto and Aperture Libraries within Pictures (that's where the Aperture library is now). And the iPhoto library is there too, but is now empty. I do not want it to be filled. The User guide says Aperture (and by inference, iPhoto) can "link" to outside photos and create "referenced" libraries.
    That is what I want to do, because I do not want my files within iPhoto and Aperture, because they are too hard to handle for other purposes, like using Preview for a quick look, or using Photoshop for editing. Not to mention the waste of disk space created by 2 libraries and the Pictures folder. And the confusion over time about which Photo is the real one.
    Surely there is a better way, a way to have iPhoto (and Aperture) use the existing Picture folder in OSX (Snow Leopard).
    Can anyone help me here?
    Just tell me there is a way to do this, please.
    Hope someone can help.

    Your question is based on a false premise. It makes no sense to use iPhoto, Aperture and the Finder to manage the photos. The Finder isn't a photo manager. It's a file manager. If you can't grasp that distinction then you stick with the Finder. Both iPhoto and Aperture (and Lightroom, and Picasa) are Photo Managers. The entire point of these apps is to manage the photos without recourse to the files.
    If you use a Photo Manager then you don't use the Finder's Quicklook, you use the application's viewing and sharing features.
    Think of it this way: would you write your novel in Word, Pages, TextEdit and Nisus Writer at the same time? And also expect to be able to read it without launching your Word Processor?
    So, yes, this is crazy:
    And I think it is crazy to have an iPhoto library of 90G, and an aperture library of 90g (already made that mistake, want to get rid of it), because that would give me three sets pf photos, with Pictures, and iPhoto and Aperture Libraries within Pictures (that's where the Aperture library is now).
    Because you would not use all three options. iPhoto and Aperture do essentially the same job. If you've purchased Aperture then that's the one to use. It's the more powerful application.
    But regardless of which you choose, when you do you give up looking at the files in the Finder, you use the Photo Manager.
    , because I do not want my files within iPhoto and Aperture, because they are too hard to handle for other purposes, like using Preview for a quick look, or using Photoshop for editing.
    Both apps provide integration with Photoshop. Using Photoshop via the Finder and not via the app will cause you problems.
    None of these apps are like Photoshop. Photoshop is a layer based pixel editor. These other apps are Digital Asset Managers. It's not the same thing. Photoshop has no management capability at all.
    And the confusion over time about which Photo is the real one.
    Now you need to do some reading on Photo Managers. All of them use a Non-Destructive workflow. All of them preserve your original photos, The concept of the "real one" makes no sense when you have many possible versions based on a single master file.
    You've not grasped the key distinctions in managing digital photos. You're confusing photos with files, confusing the file manager with a photo manager and have given no consideration to Digital Asset Management. I would consider these issues before going any further.
    FWIW: using a referenced Library with iPhoto:
    *How to do it:*
    Simply go to iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> Advanced and uncheck 'Copy Files to the iPhoto Library on Import'.
    *What Happens:*
    Now iPhoto will not copy the files, but rather simply reference them on your HD. To do this it will create an alias in the Originals Folder that points to your file. It will still create a thumbnail and, if you modify the pics, a Modified version within the iPhoto Library Folder.
    *Some things to consider:*
    1. Importing and deleting pics are more complex procedures. You have to to put the files where they will be stored before importing them. When you delete them you'll need to remove the files from the HD yourself.
    2. You cannot move or rename the files on your system or iPhoto will lose track of them on systems prior to 10.5 and iPhoto 08. Even with the later versions issues can still arise if you move the referenced files to new volumes or between volumes.
    3. Most importantly, migrating to a new disk or computer can be much more complex.
    4. Because iPhoto has no tools for managing Referenced Files, if, for some reason, the path to the photos changes then you could find yourself resolving aliases for +each photo in the Library+ one by one.
    My own opinion:
    I've yet to see a good reason to run iPhoto in referenced mode unless you're using two photo organiser
    If disk space is an issue, you can run an entire iPhoto Library from an external disk:
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
    If you're concerned about accessing the files, There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
    *For Users of 10.5 and later*
    You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
    You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
    *For users of 10.4 and later* ...
    Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
    To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
    This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
    If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
    If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
    *If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
    For users of 10.6 and later:
    You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu. Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
    For Users of 10.4 and later:
    Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
    Using iPhoto with Photoshop:
    You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
    Note that iPhoto sends a copy+ of the file to Photoshop, so when you save be sure to use the Save command, not Save As... If you use Save As then you're creating a new file and iPhoto has no way of knowing about this new file. iPhoto is preserving your original anyway.

    Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folders. In OS X 10.9 there are two sandboxes, while in 10.8 there is only one. If you're running a version older than 10.8, this comment isn't applicable.
    Back up all data.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
    Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
              Services ▹ Reveal
    from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder—not just its contents—to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
    Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window.
    This action will delete any custom Mail stationery that you have created. If you want to preserve it, ask for instructions.
    If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent
    Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
    *If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Cfmail "failto" not working with non-existent internal email addresses

    We've hard-coded cfmail TO value in many places across many
    applications, i.e.
    <cfmail to="[email protected];[email protected];[email protected]"
    ...>
    Suppose when one of the users (user1,user2, user3) left
    company and his email address was removed from the MS Exchange
    server, cfmail would fail saying
    A problem occurred when attempting to deliver mail.This
    exception was caused by: javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid
    Addresses; nested exception is: class
    javax.mail.SendFailedException:
    550 5.1.1 User unknown
    in the server exception log and cfmail wouldn't report the
    error to the email address of "failto".
    So I'm wondering if it's possible to have cfmail ignore the
    bad one(s) and continue to send the email? Or is there anything I
    should do with the Exchange server?
    Advice is much appreciated.

    Thank you, Dan.
    Sorry, what I meant by "non-existent" is not quite
    straightforward. Let me explain this way:
    I observed the problem only occurred to emails of our
    company. For instance: our company's email address ends with
    @abc.com.
    my email address: [email protected]
    my previous colleague's address: [email protected] (he's gone and
    the email is invalid / deactivated now)
    my client's email: [email protected] (used to be valid)
    If I code this way:
    <cfmail to="[email protected]" failto="[email protected]"...>
    "failto" does work and I got the email.
    but if these:
    <cfmail to="[email protected]" failto="[email protected]"...>
    <cfmail to="[email protected];[email protected]"
    failto="[email protected]"...>
    I never got emails reporting the failure but error lines in
    the mail log and the exceptions log which read:
    "Error","scheduler-3","01/28/09","11:55:32",,"Invalid
    Addresses"
    "Error","scheduler-3","01/28/09","11:55:32",,"Invalid
    Addresses"
    javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses;
    nested exception is:

  • Destination Folder not showing content after Export

    I am running in a problem with 3.2 when I export Canon Raw images from one folder to another. What is happening is that post the completion of the export the destination folder will either show only part of the exported images, or none at all. This applies to the folder file count and what is visible in the destination folder in terms of visible images. IHowever, when I open up Windows Explorer or BreezeBrowser Pro, the content of the folder is correct. Here are the solutions I have tried:
    1) Right-click on the destination folder and attempt to select "Synchronize Folder". However, it is grayed out.
    2) Refresh the database and restart LR. This has not impact. However, "Synchronize Folder" is not availabe and it will show the missing quantity so then and if I pick "Synchronize" it will bring up the Import box and I will then click on import and now the destination folder shows the correct number of images and they are visible after open it.
    3) When all else fails I do a repain install and that seems to correct the problem for a while.
    Despite all these remedies the issue eventually reoccurs.
    I am running Win 7 64 with 8G of ram and plenty of HD space. Anybody seen this behavior and if yes, found any solutions? Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help.

    Sounds like a damaged database file.
    Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
    To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
    Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
    In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
    Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
    Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
    Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
    When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
    In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • Inbox downloading non-existent emails endlessly

    A few days ago the red "unread mail" counter began rising and rising without downloading any messages. The loading spiral next to the "Inbox" indicates that it thinks it's downloading, and it does not stop. The number began at 300 (I keep a lot of unread mail in my inbox), but is now at approximately 800 and only stops when I close the program. This mail is not showing up in my inbox, and I am not a popular enough person to make so many messages an actual possibility.
    Along with the endless non-existent emails, the actual email that I should be getting is not showing up.
    I have tried Rebuilding my mailbox a couple of times and have deleted the "MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2," but these have not worked.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Hi Cathy, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
    Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these folder & file to the Desktop.
    Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
    Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
    If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup

  • IPhoto "importing" spurious non existing photos

    iPhoto constantly tries to "import" 2 non existing photos every time it opens.
    I tried import as an answer to the - do you wish to import? question as well as No in answer to the annoying start-up question, but all to no avail.
    How do I stop this annoying start-up?
    Please assist if you know the cause..

    Quit iPhoto and to to the iPhoto library (by default in your pictures folder) - right click (control click) on it and select show package contents - find the folder named import (on importing) and drag it to the desktop - DO NOT MAKE ANY OTHER CHANGES - launch iPhoto and you will be fine.
    Open the import(ing) folder and if there is nothing in it that you need move it to the trash and empty the trash

  • "Your script uses objects from a non-existent collection"

    I have a multiple page form with a barcode on each form.  I created a separate collection for each barcode.  The auto generated code looks fine and has the correct collection created, however I still get the error, Paper Forms Barcode error "Your script uses objects from a non-existent collection".
    I'm not sure what is wrong and I don't know how to fix it.  Anyone else run into this?

    You will need to create a shared folder in Dropbox, then populate that with what ever folders you need to organize the files. It appears the DropBox app,will not handle this, but you can do, it by logging in to you account via Safari. Once the folders are created, they will show up in the app. Likewise with designating the folders as shared. Anyone you wish to share with will need a Dropbox account. (using the public folder will not work since links out it are for files only, not folders. An odd restriction, but it is what it is).
    IF you have copies of the files on a PC, you will find that will be the easiest place to upload them from. If they are only in iBooks on the iPad, you will need to synch and use the file management function to copy them off. not sure if you can synch them back over to DropCopy within iTunes (never tried it).
    DEpending on your needs, a couple of apps to look into are iCab Mobile (a browser), and GoodReader (doc viewing and management app). Both integrate well with DropBox.
