Running Acrobat Pro X 1st de-serialises CS 5.5!
Hi Everyone,
When you run Arobat Pro X before the other Master Collection CS5.5 products it de-serialises the whole suite!!
In CS4 they had a safe guard which would ask for the user to run another creative suite product first....which was fine! Now that its gone.. it breaks the serialisation of the entire suite.
Does anyone know of a fix/workaround anything?? I have 800 students who would love nothing more than to make more work for me, by deliberately opening acrobat first.
Matt
Hi,
I FINALLY solved this today!
Turns out that the master collection serial isnt sufficient to serialise acrobat pro. Adobe had to give me a serial key specifically for Acrobat Pro X. This Is what I did in the end:
1.) Create a deployment package for Adobe Acrobat Pro X using the "Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition" (AAMEE) and only select Acobat Pro X from all the CS products.
2.) Use the Adobe Customisation Wizard X to modify the Acropro.msi in the Exceptions folder and enter the serial number Adobe provide for Acrobat Pro X under the "Personalisation Options", set any other things you want here.
3.) Create a second Deplyment package for all the Creative Suite Products EXCLUDING ACROBAT PRO X.
4.) Add these packages to SCCM. Make sure when you add the command line for acrobat that you call the TRANSFORMS file in the acrobat working directory. In my case its called acropro.mst. The command line should look something like "msiexec.exe /i acropro.msi TRANSFORMS=acropro.mst /qn"
5.) Add Acrobat Pro X to your task sequence and be sure to install acrobat first. Then add the Creative Suite to the task sequence
All done... should deploy without issue and it doesnt matter if you open Acrobat or a creative suite product 1st. The products stay serialised!
Thanks to Jatin Dembla, Nirvek and Michael Savanis at Adobe for their support.
Hope this helps.

I am running Acrobat Pro 9 (9.5.5). Do we have to purchase the new version if we have never upgraded? Or are we entitled to an upgrade to the latest version.
I am not really clear on the intention of your question. If you are going to get the latest version you are going to purchase it. When you go to purchase it you should be able to see if there is an option to purchase it as an upgrade from the version you currently have. I cannot find the purchase page to check myself... I can only find the subscription option.

I was getting the security prompt each time I tried to run acrobat pro xi so I uninstalled and reinstalled. Now when it launches, I have to pick english from the window since Italian is picked. However, after I pick english, it still tries to make me log into adobe and it asks it all in Italian. What is up?

Dear Adobe Friends,
I really need some help here. I am working on a project for graduate school and am having a big problem with Acrobat Pro X.
I am running CS6 with Acrobat Pro X on my iMac (specs below). Ordinarily, I have no problems running Acrobat Pro X for refining PDFs and doing OCR. However, on larger documents (1000+ pages), the app just plain crashes after approximately 200 pages. I'm really in a bind here so I'm hoping someone can help me out.
I've run Acrobat on PDFs between 600-800 pages without a problem but this is really perplexing, it doesn't give me any reason except that Acrobat has unexpectedly quit.

Getting an error when running Preflight to embed fonts in Acrobat Pro version 9
I am running Acrobat Pro version 9.4.5 and when I am running a pre-flight for embedding fonts in my document I am getting an error message as follow: "
An unexpected error has occurred during the Fixup process ".
This is occuring at the font processing time. Anybody encountered the same issue.
One detail which has it importance, I am using TTF fonts and some specific Adobe fonts which are located in the Resource\font directory of my workstation.
Many thanks for your help.Check all your fonts have headers that permit embedding - some commercial fonts don't. Debugging in Preflight is a nightmare, so to find the problem you may have to try the fonts one at a time against a test document until you find the one that whimpers.

Problems running updater for Acrobat Pro
Since I upgraded to a Windows Vista computer 4 years ago I have had problems running Acrobat Pro Updater. This goes all the way back to v7. The installer always fails with error 1601 'Can't find network path.' I went through all of Adobe's troubleshooting docs. The only method that I found to a solution for the 1601 error that worked was to edit the registry by deleting all MS Office installer entries. Then running the updater. Then reinstalling the registry entries. Not a big deal one time but a pain in the *** over the last couple of years. And not terrifically elegant. After completely unstalling Acrobat Pro and installing new versions and CS Suites several times, the problem remains.
Surely there must be a better way to deal with these updates. This has been a pattern since I started using a Vista workstation in 2007 with Acrobat 7 Pro and the original CS Suite. I'm now on Acrobat 9.x Pro and CS5. At one point I reverted from Office 2007 to Office 2003 thinking it might make a difference. It did not. So, it would appear that any version of Office and any version of Acrobat have this problem with some Vista installations. This workstation is running all current Vista service packs and patches.

Error (150:30) for Acrobat Pro 9.3 and PS 3 & 4 CS
I just had a very nice call with a support person at the 800 number, but I thought that I would still post my problem in the hopes that it might still help move towards a solution.
I lost use of Acrobat Pro 9.5.1 back in early June when I updated my MAC OS to Lion (OS X 10.7.4). After I upgraded to Lion, Acrobat Pro 9.5.1 stopped working and started giving me a notice saying, "Suite Product Activation Needed".
I unistalled the program and then reinstalled Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 from the orginal Adobe CS 5 Design Standard disk. At that point I found that the reinstall still did not work and had created an additional set of problems. I stopped working on this because I was leaving my main office for the summer and figured that I would survive short term with Adobe Reader. I also figured a patch would present itself given enough time.
Now that I am back, I've found the time to revisit this. I am wondering if I somehow missed an opportunity to fix this because Lion upgraded to Mountain Lion and I upgraded the Mac OS before finding a fix for Acrobat.
I spent most of yesterday working on this and this is what I found:
1) I cannot not upgrade Acrobat Pro at all. It is stuck on version 9.3.0. This is important because I saw 9.5.2 was released and, if it has a patch, I cannot use it because I can't get back to 9.5.1.
2) I have been all over the boards looking for a solution. I did find the Support Document #51260 (which phone support directed me to as well). This document, "Error 'Licensing has stopped working'|MAC OS", outlines fixes up through Lion, but has not been updated to Mountion Lion.
3) From document #51260, I went ahead and downloaded LicenseRecoveryLauncher to have it. The problem, however, is this is a PowerPC app and Mounton Lion no longer supports PowerPC apps.
4) Because of document #51260, I tried opening my older Photoshop programs from CS 4 and CS 3. I get the same (150:30) notice with Photoshop CS4 ver 11.0.2 and just a notice saying that Licensing has topped working with Photoshop CS3 version 10.0.1.
5) Since I'm writing this, I find that I am getting the same Licensing notice for Illustartor CS 3 & 4 and In Design CS 3 & $.
6) The one program that I can use is Photoshop CS 5 Version 12.0.4
As I said earlier, I am wondering if I didn't miss a window of some sort to fix this by not seeing the fix for Lion as described in Document #51260. I am also wondering if the problems are related to the fact the Mac no longer supports PowerPC apps.
Regardless, the problem of not being able to run Acrobat Pro 9 still exists for me and the current fix document does not solve the issue for Mountain Lion. Is there an updated fix that does?
I am running:
Mac Pro (Early 2008)
Processor 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Memory 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB
Software Mac OS X 10.8.1 (12B19))
PS - I tried downloading Acrobat 9.5.1 and when I click on the installer I get a warning message saying "AcroProUpd951_all" is an application froman unkown source and am I sure that I want to open it. I did open it, but it does not run a program. It takes me to Mac HD/users/My User Name/Documents/Acrobat User Data and then there is nothing to select. I can't even slect the Acrobat Pro Icon in the apps folder. My web browser is Firefow 15.0

Acrobat 3D functionality in Acrobat Pro
I am running acrobat pro version 9 and wish to insert a 3D pdf that we have created into a powerpoint presentation. After looking around the Adobe website I believe that I need some of the functionality included in Acrobat 3D. However when I download acrobat 3D I am unable to install this as I already have software with a higher level of functionality.
What would be ideal is a small plugin for acrobat pro that allows 3D pdfs to be inserted into powerpoint. Although I fear that in order to be able to get all of the features that I require I will have to get acrobat pro extended (which i believe has the Acrobat 3D capabilities)
Can anyone help me out with this?
Thanks,
RichTo clarify something in the FAQ:
Acrobat X Pro includes the ability to embed 3D annotations but only where the 3D model being loaded is in either of the PDF-specified formats; U3D or PRC. In Acrobat 9 Pro Extended you could open a wide range of other formats and Acrobat would translate them into U3D or PRC for embedding (including real-time capture from another 3D model displayed on screen), but the capture and translation feature is now removed and can only be achieved using third-party tools. The software suite from Tetra4D is one such tool for importing different model formats, and there's a recent thread in the Acrobat 3D forum discussing embedding of files from 3DS Max which describes some of the alternative workflows if you don't want to purchase the Tetra4D package.
Once created, 3D annotations in PDF files are displayed the same in the Acrobat X Family as they were in version 9. You can still navigate the scene, measure things, add markups, play animations, etc. -
Mac using Acrobat Pro v9 can't connect to shared review hosted on Sharepoint server.
A person at our company has a Mac with Acrobat Pro v9 and can't connect to our shared review hosted on a Sharepoint server. The shared review is initiated from a PC using Acrobat Pro X.
They can access/login to the Sharepoint server via Safari on the same computer both inside the company and from outside.
They used to have it working just fine for months, then suddenly (recently) it stopped working and it just keeps saying that it can't connect.
When trying to connect, Acrobat doesn't ask for credentials. I've tried hunting down where those credentials are stored to try and delete them to force it to ask again, but no luck there either.
I also have a Mac (but I'm running Acrobat Pro XI and now DC) and I can access the same shared review that doesn't work for them. And I can't seem to break it for me (as an effort to figure out their problem).
Any helpful guidance on how to get things back on track would be greatly appreciated. My head hurts from beating it against my desk. :-|
Thanks!Several of us encountered the same issue running MAC OS X on Acrobat Pro XI. I'm tagging your question to see if someone provides a solution.

Acrobat Pro 8.1.2 crashes when displaying pdf made from Word doc containing url text
Hello,
I and a few others in my workplace have a similar issue.
Acrobat crashes when they scroll through and view a pdf file that was created from Word. The Word document contains url text in its header to the effect of "visit us at www.blah.com ." They're running Acrobat Pro 8.1.2 and Office 2K Pro SR-1 on XP Pro SP2.
Even though the link is not an active link, (i.e. clicking on it does not open the web page), if I convert a document containing this header to PDF, Acrobat will not allow me to manipulate the file and will crash. When I take the same document and remove the web address, then convert from Word to PDF, I experience no problems with Acrobat (note that this is the identical file, but with the web address removed). This does not explain why Acrobat will work for awhile even with the web address in the header, then stop working. But it does appear to fix my problem with creating a PDF from Word, then manipulating it further.
Does anyone know how to allow for this text to exist in the header and still have a stable pdf file/acrobat behavior?
The pdf is attached.
Thanks....To sum up, I've found that if a url beginning with www is in the Word document and then created to pdf Adobe will crash when viewing that pdf. If it is deleted from the Word document before creating the pdf, Acrobat will not crash when viewing that pdf.

How do I add third party plug-in to Acrobat Pro XI and add things to the main menu bar.
Running Acrobat Pro XI, (CC suite) on MacPro OSX 10.8
Main Menu Bar only shows 'Acrobat File Edit View Window Help'.
No Third Party Plug-ins are shown under 'Acrobat' on the Menu Bar
Acrobat Pro 9 (also installed) shows the Third Party Plug-ins and a lot of other options on the Menu Bar
How do I get Pro XI to look like Pro 9You'll have to install PitStop again and point it at the new Acrobat when it asks you, or you can open the Acrobat 9 package and copy PitStop from the plugins folder into the same folder in Acrobat XI.
You didn't mention which version of PitStop you have so you'll need to check the system requirements to make sure you are compatible.
http://www.enfocus.com/en/support/knowledge-base/pitstop-pro-system-requirements?q=system+ requirements
Also be aware of the interface change between Acrobat 9 and XI, you no longer have all the tool bars available on the top, you now have tools in a column on the right.
But you can drag tool icons up to the top and make sets as well.
You can get information on the differences within PitStop here.

Print multiple PDFs from Windows Explorer causes Acrobat Pro 9.4 crash
I sometimes need to create a batch of PDFs independently, after which it suits me to print them all as a single job. FYI I am running Acrobat Pro 9.4 under Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
The sequence of the problem as follows:
- With Acrobat closed, I go to the directory containing my multiple PDF files using Windows Explorer.
- I highlight between three and six PDF docs (each individual doc is small, one page, black and white only).
- I use the "Print" option made available within Windows Explorer.
It's clear that the system then tries to use Acrobat to print these docs, however I consistently get the same behaviour - some print, some do not, but on every occasion I receive the error "Adobe Acrobat 9.4 has stopped working".
Any ideas? Annoying for a paid-for piece of pro software although, granted, not on a level with famine in the third world it would be nice to have all the functionalities working correctly. If it helps my machine spec is below.
Thanks,
Alastair
SPEC:
Dual Xeon workstation
24Gb RAM (of which 22GB available at time of error)
Disk 1TB (RAID10) of which 920GB free
Windows 9 Ultimate 64bit
Acrobat Pro ver 9.4.1It may partly be a 64-bit issue since AA is apparently a 32-bit application that can run in the 64-bit environment (not that familiar with 64-bit systems, so I may not be stating it correctly. However, I would start by going to the Control Panel>Programs and Features and do a repair on your Acrobat installation. That will hopefully resolve the issue.

I can't print a PDF in Acrobat Pro anymore
Up until very recently, I had no problem printing a PDF on my Canon while in Acrobat Pro on my Mac Pro running 10.7.5. I'm running Acrobat Pro 11.0.07. This is just making me crazed.
In my Google research travels:
I've tried printing as an image. No luck.
I do not have any other printers set up in my system preferences.
I've tried removing any protection. I've tried sanitizing the document.
I am able to print if I open the PDF in Preview.
What the bleep has Adobe gone and done? Does anyone have any suggestions? This just started happening to me today. Did you ever get this solved?
