Running City Input Method on Mac OS X

Has anyone tried to run the City IM example (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/guide/imf/spi-tutorial.html) on OS X? How would one bring up the "Select Input Method" menu, like that on Windows or Solaris? Can anyone tell me something about Java's Input Method Framework support in MacOS X? Thanks.

I just learned from the source that Java Input Method Framework (IMF) is currently not supported in OS X.

  • Create Input Method component

I need to make an Input Method for a language. It would function similar to that of the Kotoeri or Chinese components: namely after the inline input of some text, the desired Unicode glyph would be called. All of the references in the ADC pages presume I already have an input method, or can work with their example to make something like the Asian input methods. I do not want to start from scratch, but would ideally like to modify an existing component (swapping out existing data and dictionary entries with my own).
Curiously, I see that there was a session at the WWDC 07 that addresses the exact issue I'm inquiring about. Is this Input Method Kit something that will be available?

Below are critical observations that you need to be aware of:
    2. VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!! Personally, saving a file as .cin locked up my whole system, and I had to login as root in order to remove the file. I'll never do that again. Thus my note is "# INSTALLATION: save as a .inputplugin file and put ~/Library/Input Methods/
    # Once this is in the Input Methods file, you then enable the input method by going to the International keyboard
    # input module and selecting your input method just like a regular input method is selected.
    3. # If plain text, the file encoding must be Unicode (UTF-16) with or without an initial BOM (Byte Order Mark).
I made the edits using TextWrangler (http://www.barebones.com/products/TextWrangler/). This allows you to encode in UTF-16 (at the bottom of the file).
Also, there needs to be a mention of honor here to Tom Gewecke for his invaluable advice and support in correctly interpreting Apple's help sheet. Apple's sheet is almost correct, but the alerts above will keep you from creating a file that will crash your system like I did—twice.

  • Run button's method action without input text's validation raise

    Hi
    My English isn't very good
    I use jdeveloper 11.1.1.3.0
I have a button and an inputText(with validation) on the page. I defined a method action for the button.
when I click the button, the input Text's validation raise and the button's method doesn't run.
If I set immediate=true for the button then the validation doesn't raise but in this case also button's method doesn't run.
How can I run button's method action without input text's validation raise?
    Habib

If I set immediate=true for the button then the validation doesn't raise but in this case also button's method doesn't run. This should have worked . Run your application in debug mdoe and put a debug pointer in your actionListener to see if the control goes there.
Also put partialSubmit="true" for your button.

  • Korean direct input method in tiger Mac OS X 10.4.3

    Hello,
I need to use the korean direct input method in tiger Mac OS X 10.4.3
but I can not find the icon or some bars to choose for the direct input in korean input menu.
the korean direct input is used to be in Mac OS X 10.3
    can someone help me out?
    I really need this function.
    Power Mac G5 Quad 2.5G   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Yes, it makes different when I tied with boris graffiti 4.0.
when I type korean word in boris graffiti program using "direct input" on mac os x 10.3, there is no promblem typing korean.
But using "syllable" in mac os x 10.4, when I type the korean letter, it automatical erase the word that I typed.
for example, if I type "gift to my friend" in korean, I try to type "g" and when I type "i", "g" is erased.
And using "word" option, the problem is whenever I use space bar or enter key between word, and try to enter the next word, the previous word I typed is erased,
for example, "gift to my friend", I type "gift" and I need to enter space between "gift" and "to",
so after press the spase bar, and try to type "to", the "gift" is erased.
I hope that you could understand what I tring to explain, and I was wondering if there is any solution for this problem.

  • Incompatible Changjie Input Method for Macbook Pro Office for Mac

I have Chinese word input problems when I use my Macbook Pro 13" Retina OS X  and Microsoft Office for Mac Standard 2011 with Service Pack 2.
When I use Changjie input method to input some Chinese words like "面", "屬", "應", these words cannot be shown with correct input methods. They can only be shown by Quick input method. It is very strange. No such problems exist when I use my iPod, iPad or iPhone 5. Please advise. Thank you!
For your reference, Changjie input method of the above words are:
    面 = 一田卜中
    屬 = 尸卜卜戈
    應 = 戈土心
These words cannot be shown by the above methods.

PS OS X Cangjie does seem to use different codes for those characters:

  • I can't type with Chinese Input Methods in Mail and Notes

Today I suddenly can't type/input any word or character in Mail and Notes
when the input method switches to any Chinese input method like Zhuyin, Yahoo KeyKey and Bopomofo.
Even the cursor won't move when I press the " ↑↓←→"
The keyboard just doesn't work from " ` " to "→" when it comes to Chinese input methods.
    However,
the keyboard works well as soon as I switch to English input method and I can type English in Mail and Notes.
I can type with any Chinese input methods in Chrome, TextEdit, Reminder, iPhoto, Contacts,......etc..
Is there something wrong with Mail and Notes?
Could anyone help me solve the problem?
    Thank you!

    Thank you, Tom.
I have posted my issue there and hope for the best
    btw,
I had the same problem (cannot input any word and move the cursor with Chinese input methods) in Evernote.
Evernote Support helped me solve it.
Here is how it works (for Evernote only).
    Ticket # 16051-XXXXX
We believe that reinstalling the latest Mac version may address the issue that you reported. Please perform the following steps:
Quit Evernote from the elephant icon in the Menu Bar
Drag the Evernote application to the system Trash
    Reboot your Mac
Download and install the latest version of the Mac client:
    http://www.evernote.com/about/download/get.php?file=EvernoteMac
When you open the download, make sure to drag the Evernote icon into the Applications folder instead of running it from within the installer package.
Eject the disk image and delete the installer file before you runEvernote.
Let us know how this works for you.
    Thank you.

  • How can I keep my original keyboard mapping in different input methods?

    Hi!
i have a question about my keyboard mapping. my powerbook has a german keyboard. and i switch frequently my input methods between german and simplified chinese(ITABC), which was all fine. but after upgrading to Leopard, when i switch to ITABC input method, my keyboard mapping changed along with this input method to chinese keyboard mapping! which annoys me a lot! this did not happen before when i was in Tiger!
could someone please tell me how to keep my original keyboard mapping (at least the alphabets) when i switch to ITABC?
    Thanks a lot!

in german input, the key "Y" and "Z" are opposite comparing with normal english keyboard. and in chinese input method, the "y" and "z" are mapped just as normal english keyboard.
what happens now is, in ITABC input method, "y" and "z" are mapped as normal english keyboard, which is not like that before when i was using tiger.
Thanks for the info! You should definitely ask about this on the Chinese-Mac list. Keyboard mapping with the Apple Chinese IM's has long been a problem, and is one reason many people are moving to QIM:
    http://www.yale.edu/chinesemac/pages/input_methods.html#other
I suspect something has changed in the Chinese IM with Leopard to mess this up for you, and it may not be fixable.

  • Simple question about Input Methods

Hi everyone. I have a JTextArea in a frame. I want this TextArea to accept Chinese language directly from keyboard. For this I need to select an Input Method.
One way to select an Input Method is to click on the control icon on the top left corner of the frame window and then select "Input Methods > Chinese".
But I dont want selecting input method this way. I want to select Input Method for my TextArea within the code in frame's constructor.
I do hope that you are getting my point.
    I tried like this:
    TextArea.selectInputMethod( new Locale("SIMPLIFIED_CHINESE"));
But it gives me error that "cannot find method selectInputMethod()".
I shall be very very very thankfull to you.
    Thanx
    ..::DW

Yeh, it would be simpler to run a test, but i'm not at a workstation with a jdk or IDE at the moment!
    Thanks for the response though!

  • Input Methods changing without permission

    Hi everybody.
I use a personalized keyboard mapping. I've created it with Ukelele, put it into ~/Library/Keyboard Layouts and selected it in the System Preferences (so only my account can use this layout). Perfect.
    Now, the issues:
If I use the “fast user switching” in the menu bar, my own Input Method is reverted to the default French input method. I think that is normal for this window, but if I cancel the user switching, the default French input method remains and I have to manually switch back to my personalized keyboard layout.
The same thing happens when I play “Warcraft III”: the input method is changed to the default French layout as soon as the game is launched. How can I change this behavior ?

  • ITABC input method for Chinese language

*Languages and Texts: Input Source: Chinese-Simplified: ITABC*
I recently upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard. On Tiger, I found the ITABC input method for Chinese-Simplified language the most useful. Since upgrading to Snow Leopard on my desktop (and also Snow Leopard on new MacBook Pro), the ITABC input method is absent from the Chinese-Simplified Input Sources tab.
Can anyone help me with why this? Can I somehow get the ITABC input back?
    Thank you for any assistance.
    Bones

Isn't the "Pinyin" on the list very similar to ITABC?
If you have problems with it, best to ask on the Chinese-Mac list.

Many people now use QIM instead of the SCIM:

  • Criteria to use batch input method in lsmw

in lsmw we hav batch input method, direct input, idocs, bapis, what is the criteria to use them?

    •     Decide whether it makes sense to use this tool with respect to the data volume to be transferred. It may be easier to transfer very small data volumes into the SAP system manually. In the case of a very large data volume, batch input or IDoc techniques may cause extremely long runtimes. A rough landmark for estimating the required time: 10 000 records per hour where this value may vary considerably depending on the hardware available.
    •     Identify the transaction(s) in the SAP system via which you want to import the data into your SAP system. It may be relevant whether you need the data for statistical analysis or for further processing in the system.
    •     Run the relevant transaction in the SAP system manually with test data from the legacy system and see which fields must be filled. There may be required fields that do not correspond to data fields in the legacy system. In such a case, you should better assign a fixed value or establish an optional field for data transfer.

  • Pearl 9100 Pinyin input method.

I'm not sure if this has been asked.  I'm having the Pearl 9105, firmware  running 6.0.0.706(just upgraded and it is the same thing for previous version).
I've loaded the firmware, making sure that that BOTH "Simplified Chinese Pinyin" and "Traditional chinese" input is installed when loading it to the phone.
But some how, when I tried to change input method, the pinyin simply does not show up.  Reinstalled a couple of times and still the same,.
On the other hand, the pihua (stroke menthod) does show up.
This happens every where including "Option"->"Typing and Input"->"Language"->"Input Language"
Any Help will be greatly appreciated.

  • LSMW Direct Input Method RMDATIND tax classification material

    Hi folks,
I am loading material master data throught LSMW using direct input method. In MM01 for a particular sales org we have tax classifcation for three different countries US, CA and GB. Hi,
Not sure about the same requirement of countries & tax codes for all the materials for your upload.
    If this is the case,
    enable the
    Extras->DisplayVariant
from the menu of the LSMW & check all the check boxes. Now you see the
    __END_OF_RECORD__
    for the structure
    BMMH2
which has to be mapped with the input structure in the Maintain structure relations step.
    double click on the
    __END_OF_RECORD__
which will lead to ABAP editor & then put the following code:
    * Canada
    bmmh2-stype = '3'.
    bmmh2-aland = 'CA'.
    bmmh2-taty1 = 'CTX1'.
    bmmh2-taxm1 = '1'.
    transfer_record.
    bmmh2-stype = '3'.
    bmmh2-aland = 'CA'.
    bmmh2-taty1 = 'CTX2'.
    bmmh2-taxm1 = '1'.
    transfer_record.
else if you have a different set of countries with different tax codes for the set of materials,
You need to have a separate file for this & map the fields to the structure fields of
    BMMH2
    Hope this helps.

  • LSMW Direct Input Method - Change Documents

    Hello experts,
Could anyone please tell me how to enable the change documents(not just runtime) for LSMW direct Input method? There is also one option "Change Documents" in the last step of the process, will this write into any table that I see the changes later If I run the last step with selected this  option? If yes, What are the application (customer master data, vendor master data, material master data, etc) specific tables?
Is there anyway that I could populate this method changes into the CDHDR & CHPOS tables?
    SAP documenation on this:
To enter the data into the *corresponding database tables directly*, the system calls a number of function modules that execute any necessary checks. In case of errors, the direct input technique provides a restart mechanism
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/fa/097174543b11d1898e0000e8322d00/content.htm
Since this tool writing data into database tables directly skips the CDHDR & CDPOS recording..
Is there any other possible way for the complete change logs (change pointers???)? ( Or only table logging?)
Please share your experience on this.
    Thanks,
    Himadama
