Running Creative Cloud apps after System Restore
I got Creative Cloud yesterday and I'm totally psyched. I downloaded several of the apps in the Application Manager. Once they were done, I hit the "run app" button next to Photoshop to make sure it was working. It worked perfectly, so I went to bed.
This morning I turned on my computer and it didn't start because a Windows update that I installed while shutting down last night was apparently poison for my computer. I had to recover from a system restore point that had been created several weeks before Creative Cloud was installed.
Now I'm not sure how to start or install any of the Creative Cloud programs. In the Application Manager, it says all the programs I'm interested in are installed, so I can't re-download them, and there's no "run app" button there any longer. And in the Program Files on my computer, even though there are now several CS6 files, for the life of me I can't find any of the .exe files that will actually run the programs.
How do I open these programs?
I fixed it, but it involved three calls with Adobe support that added up to around 6 hours... in the end, we had to use a special Adobe Suite remover program to totally scrub my system of anything Adobe. When that was done, we were able to install most of the programs, but not Muse or Acrobat. To get Acrobat to work, we had to use another special Acrobat remover tool, then we had to create another administrator on my computer and use the new account to install Acrobat from there using a direct download of the program, instead of the Application Manager. To install Muse, we figured out that we could just download the trial from the Adobe site and just install it that way - again, as opposed to installing it from the Application Manager. So now everything works, but the Application Manager still doesn't recognize that Acrobat or Muse are installed - it still has the "install" button next to their names. The support guy said I should still be getting updates, but that he'll check up with me in another week or so to see if that is indeed the case.
Good luck Gravity6.

Can I run Creative Cloud apps on my new iPad Air?
Can I run Creative Cloud apps on my new iPad Air?
No, the applications only run on Windows and Mac OS X.
Only the Touch apps PS Touch and Ideas will run on the iPad.
You can see the System Requirements for each of the applications from the Download Center page at https://creative.adobe.com/products. Just click on an application and from that application's page choose the System Requirements link. -
We have two users that have been using Creative Cloud for almost a year. Recently, sometime in the last 4ish weeks, the users can no longer run Creative Cloud apps. (Yes, our subscription is paid.) Error simply says administrator access is required to install. The apps have already been installed. The users cannot run them unless they are in the local admin group.Using "Run as admin" does not work. It gives the same error.
I have opened a case with adobe support and was basically told to suck it up and put the users in the admin group. Actually, what was said was that it is "mandated that the users have administrative rights".
There are a couple of things wrong with this. It was working for both users until recently - a recent required creative cloud update. The users have never been local admins yet the apps were working (poorly, but working).
We are in an enterprise environment and users simply do not have administrative rights on the computers.
I have changed permissions on all adobe folders, granting users or authenticated users modify or full control rights, did the same in whatever Adobe registry HKLM keys I could find. Nothing has allowed the users to run the apps - unless they are put in the local admin group.
Someone has to have a fix for this. Adobe apps have proved to have far too many vunerabilities to even entertain the idea of elevating user rights. I can't imagine that enterprise environments are allowing this.
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.Jeff,
Thank you for your response. The users in question are "standard" domain users. We do not reduce users permissions below the standard level.
The apps do not load with their current standard user permissions.
The thing that makes this odd, is that up until recently they did this issue with cloud apps. The only way I can make it work for them now is to put them in the local administrator group on their pc's - which is not going to happen.
This is what they now see. As I said before, this was not a problem up until recently they would see all their available apps. If I put them in the local admin group the apps are listed without having to install. Everything is there, just not accessible to the user. -
Procedures to re-install Creative Cloud apps after from Win 7 to Win 8 Upgrade
I'm planning to upgrade my PC to from Win 7 64 bit to Win 8 64 bit. I currently have Creative Cloud apps installed on the Win 7 PC. I will have to reinstall all apps after the upgrade to Win 8. Before doing the upgrade, should I deactivate all Creative Cloud apps under Win 7 or will the software recognize that I'm on the same PC when I go to re-install my apps? So, same physical PC, but different operating systems.
Thank youCertainly.
When you install the operating system that you are licensed for, the installer will not require you to manually input a 25 character activation license key.
Any HP notebook manufactured from 2011 has been using the SLP method. That is why you don't see a Microsoft Certificate of Authenticity with the 25 character activation license key anywhere on the notebook.

Missing Apps after System restore
Yesterday I did a System Restore on my iPhone 3Gs and now all of my Apps are missing. After this I tried to do a Restore from backup again but I still have the same problem.
I don't have Sync Apps ticked in iTunes as if I do it will sync all apps and there is a mix of iPad and iPhone apps there. For some Apps there are separate iPad and iPhone versions and I'm not sure if this will cause any problems.
Is there a way to have the apps restored to the same folders they were in before? I know I can sync selected apps from iTunes but I spent a lot of time organising all of my apps into folders and I'm hoping to avoid having to do that again. When I tick "Sync Apps" but before actually going ahead iTunes shows 10 screens of Apps and none are in folders as they were before.
I thought that doing a restore from a backup that I did just before the restore would have restored the phone exactly as I had it before.
Thanks for any advice you can offer. No iTunes content including 3rd party apps are included with your iPhone's backup. If you don't have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes along with the apps selected below that you want available on your iPhone - which can be placed in folders with iTunes followed by a sync, iTunes does not know which apps you had installed on your iPhone. With Sync Apps selected along with the apps in your chosen folders, when restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, your iPhone will be restored in this regard. After restoring as a new iPhone or from the backup, this must be followed by a sync to re-transfer your selected iTunes content including 3rd party apps to your iPhone. What is selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences will be pre-selected prior to the initial sync with iTunes after the restore, and the apps will be transferred back to the same folders as before. Your mistake in this process was not having Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab. With this selected, after downloading an app direct with your iPhone the app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.
If there is an iPad only app that you select to be transferred to your iPhone, a warning message will be provided with the following sync indicating the app cannot be installed on your iPhone. You can create your app folders with iTunes followed by a sync. -
Cannot run Creative Cloud apps on Win 8.1
I have installed Indesign and Photoshop apps (trail version) in Windows 8.1 but cannot start either apps. I have 8GB RAM. What is the issue? Thanks.
We can't really know. Your info is at best vague. Presumably something is blocking the activation system, so refer to this:

New Creative Cloud apps see system as 32bit.
The title says it all. I installed PS CC this morning and it's only seeing 4gb RAM. I opened it and closed it a couple times and it saw my 16gb once. I thought all was well until I closed it and opened it again and it was back down to 4gb. Anybody else seeing this?
Here's my system info according to LR 5:
Lightroom version: 5.0 [907681]
Operating system: Windows 7 Business Edition
Version: 6.1 [7601]
Application architecture: x64
System architecture: x64
Logical processor count: 4
Processor speed: 3.9 GHz
Built-in memory: 16345.3 MB
Here's my info from CS6 64bit.
Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.1.2 (13.1.2 20130105.r.224 2013/01/05:23:00:00) x64
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1
System architecture: AMD CPU Family:15, Model:4, Stepping:3 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3
Physical processor count: 4
Processor speed: 3906 MHz
Built-in memory: 16345 MB
Free memory: 9522 MB
Memory available to Photoshop: 14682 MB
Here's my info according to PS CC:
Adobe Photoshop Version: 14.0 (14.0 20130423.r.221 2013/04/23:23:00:00) x32
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1
System architecture: AMD CPU Family:15, Model:4, Stepping:3 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3
Physical processor count: 4
Processor speed: 3906 MHz
Built-in memory: 16345 MB
And now Ilustrator CC:
OS: Windows
Version: 6.1
System Architecture: x86
Built-In Memory: 16345 MB
Application Folder:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CC (64 Bit)\Support Files\
^ I added the application Folder listed on Illustrator because I think it's great that it says my system is x86 but then but's the files in to a folder named 64bit.I too have this issue with Photoshop CC 14.0 treats my machine as 32bit and limiting my RAM usage to 3.5gb not good and I have already uninstalled it until it is fixed.
Adobe Photoshop Version: 14.0 (14.0 20130423.r.221 2013/04/23:23:00:00) x32
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Version: 6.1 Service Pack 1
System architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:10, Stepping:5 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, HyperThreading
Physical processor count: 4
Logical processor count: 8
Processor speed: 3190 MHz
Built-in memory: 12279 MB
Free memory: 3697 MB
Memory available to Photoshop: 3255 MB
Is this simply because the only Photoshop CC available right now is the 32bit version and the the 64bit version is still in development but nobody bothered to tell us?

Tablets that can run full Creative Cloud apps
I have heard that the Pro series of the surface tablets, is the only tablet on the market, that has the ability to run Creative Cloud apps.
The system requirements for Cloud apps include Windows 7, Windows 8 or Mac OS X 10.7+.
http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/tech-specs.html
Surface Pro runs full Windows 8 so it can run Cloud apps providing it meets other tech specs.

What tablet do you use with Creative Cloud / Apps?
Hello, I am look for a tablet to run Creative Cloud apps. Does anyone have first have experience? Comparing the iPad 2 Air to the Galaxy and possibly the Surface Pro (... but Surface that gets into a different price range). This would supplement my current desktop / laptop workflow.
Thanks! DaveIf I had the choice (and the cash), I'd probably go with the Surface Pro or the forthcoming Surface 3 (a budget-conscious version of the Surface Pro). The reason is because of full desktop app support like Photoshop CC and full access to your assets on Creative Cloud. You'd pretty much mirror your desktop experience with a little less power and be mobile.
I use a Google Nexus 7 2013 myself; it's great for what it is (as are most of Apple and Google's devices) and apps designed for it like Photoshop Touch are great on it. There's just one problem: It isn't desktop Photoshop. -
Creative Cloud (app) crashes on startup after update
After the last update (which probably went wrong), creative cloud application (the menubar app) crashes on startup.
I've tried uninstalling (uninstaller stalls) and running Creative Cloud Cleanup Tool but to no avail.
Below I've included an excerpt of the crash report from the log (I could post the complete log report but that seems to cause troubles posting).
Anybody have any suggestions?

Adobe Creative Cloud app doesn't run
Just tried to use my newly Adobe Creative Cloud app today after signing up for an Adobe creative cloud account. I have Mavrick Version 10.9.3 and I cannot run the application Adobe creative cloud app. Every time I run the program it starts to load and then exits immediately with no error. Talked to Adobe tech support was not able to resolve the problem. Anyone else having this problem?
I have a similar problem, my CC desktop app just shows the loading animation, usually crashing as well. I've tried reinstalling the app but nothing seems to be working.
Please post up if you find anything =) -
