Running CS4 Adobe Photoshop/Premiere Pro on a network drive.
I work in IT Management and I ran into a problem with running Photoshop and Premiere Pro on a network drive. When I run the CS4 Premiere Pro I get this message on startup:
Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.
Photoshop will bring up this message:
This application has failed to start because SPROF32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
However, this error can be bypassed and Photoshop will work like normal from then on.
After looking into it our department figured out that the problem the program had was that it was running on a network drive rather than a local drive. When we ran the program on the computer's local drive these errors didn't show up at all and the programs ran flawlessly. After looking at these errors and the overall problem, does anybody know what needs to be done to have these programs run on a Network Drive?

Unfortunately, your first sentence is the answer. Few programs in the Production suite run from a network drive, and need full Administrative log-in.

Photoshop CS6 supposedly is available in simplified and traditional Chinese language versions and as I supect you are not likely to get a lot of support for CS2 you may want to consider purchasing a license.

If the same do not resubmit. Look at the crashed thread and compare. If different include the just the crashed thread.
Have you tried to reset the preferences? Start PS and immediatly hold down the option cmd and shift keys. You should get a reset window. -

I just installed Adobe CC Premiere Pro and it continuously crashes!
I just installed Adobe CC Premiere Pro and it keeps crashing. I've tried creating a new project, opening an existing project -- nothing works. I can start a new project and get as far as to import clips into the project window but the moment I try to play a clip or create a sequence from it, it crashes. I'm running off a brand new laptop (Lenovo X1 carbon 3rd gen) 8Gb Ram, i5 processor, best of anything I could get on this specific machine. Any thoughts??
The files I'm opening with a new project are MP4 files from a gopro camera. The existing project was a CS5.5 file that it attempted to update to CC -- it actually located all of the files fine and as soon as it gets to the workspace with everything laid out, it crashes. Premiere Pro 2014.2 is crashing
I love PPRO 2014 very much but, wrote an nasty gram to Adobe because each update seems to have issues.
I have set my autosave to 5 min saves and each time I see it say AUTO SAVING I use it as a reminder to do a real save.
I have a super system and it didn't use to crash like this every hour.
Why not try it out for a year and do a major update vs little updates that have issues the last 3 times.
I can't render either with the hardware setting, which did work for a year then, the latest update screwed that up.
The Adobe Tech blamed it on Apple but, hey - it worked for a year until Adobes update. -

Can someone please help a friend of mine get a permanent registration key (not a trial key that expires in 30 days) to replace his lost registration key for Adobe Photoshop CS2? His previous hard drive crashed and he no longer has his registration key. This is vital for his wedding business.
Thanks to everyone for the tips on my CS2 question. It turns out in the end it was some plug-in filter software that was causing the glitch, not a lack of an Adobe registration key. As for why he still uses CS2, it does the job for him, so that's all he needs.

Failed to install Adobe Bridge CS4 & Adobe Photoshop CS4 (Windows)
I have done everything Adobe had instructed me to do. From the clean script to the clean up utility. Ended up doing a restore point to recover lost programs in the add/remove programs. Adobe neglected to tell me to back up files first. I have even uninstalled every adobe program that I could and tried to install once again. I did restart my computer each time I performed an action on my computer. I am back to square one on trying to install my Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended software. If anybody has any suggestions or solutions I would appreciate any help that you can give. I need this program for a photography class that I am enrolled in. Classes already started & I cannot complete my first assignment without this program. Please help me if you can. Adobe sure couldn't

No, god forbid. That would be disastrous and make the situation worse. Please download the CS4 Clean Script and have it remove all traces of your damaged install. Then, look through your Add or Remove Software list in your system control panel and uninstall everything that still referes to Adobe, including AIR, Adobe Media player, Adobe Reader etc.. Once done, run the Microsoft Installer Database Cleanup that you were required to downlaod for the CS4 script manually. Look for lingering instance of Adobe Installer 2.0 and remove them. Then attempt another install. Warning: If you have other working Adobe software on your system, it would be smart to deactivate it. All the previous operations may render the software defunct and you will be required to reinstall.

At this time, what do you have on your desktop - two files appropriate for your computer operating system, those being, .exe (which will be the Adobe Application Manager) and the 7z which is the program itself. That is all you should need? Based on my experiences, it is the .exe that does the unpacking of the 7z.
If you are having problems with the Adobe direct route, then download and install the tryout from the following web site and insert your purchased serial number in those installation files at installation.

Run and carryout the web site's "Note: Very Important Instructions" in order to avoid an Access Denied message.
For Windows, there will be File 1 first (exe) and next File 2 (7z).

Is CS4 compatible with Premiere Pro 1.5?
My laptop crashed and I have an Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 project that I have not completed.
I downloaded CS4 trial and was able to open Premiere Pro 1.5 project in CS4 but CS4 had to convert the project file since it was created in an earlier version of Premiere.
I know that it can open in CS4 but will I have any problems down the road?'Usually' is not a good test for an individual case. Jim's advice is right. In your case, CS4 opened it. You got it in--now see if you can get it out. Quickly make a few of your usual editing moves, and then send a copy called 'test' out through AME in the output format you need to see if it works.

Choppiness on Adobe CS6/Premiere Pro CS6.0.5
I've been trying to investigate an issue with a user experiencing choppy playback behavior within Premiere Pro, but haven't yet found a solution. I'm not that familiar with the software, so any thoughts are welcomed.
System: 2012 Macbook Pro with Nvidia GT650M. 16gb of ram. SSD.
OS, Software: Mavericks 10.9.5, issue was similar on 10.8.5. Premiere CS6-6.0.5. Updated to latest CUDA drivers without a change in behavior.
Experience: When the user is playing back media, and the media reaches a point where it should load a graphic (most commonly an AE file which just has a word that fades in and out over the video), the playback stutters or stops, and doesn't load the graphic. The video resumes normally after the graphic should have loaded/been displayed. Sometimes the red "Media Missing" overlay is presented instead.
These graphics are located on a network volume, but the user has stable, high-speed access to this volume. (Connected via fibre.) Another user with the same hardware does not experience the same issues.
The issue is not account related. If I log in with another account, I can recreate the problem. Thus, it is also not related to the media cache, although I've cleaned that as well on the user's account.
I've also tried resetting the SMC on the user's machine.i would go into safe mode and try the uninstaller again. then delete any left over folders. How To Boot Into Safe Mode On Windows 8 or 8.1 (The Easy Way)
