Running Dreamweaver CS3 on 64-bit Windows XP

Any advantage whatsoever in running Dreamweaver CS3 (or even
Photoshop CS3)
on WinXP x64 (instead of the common 32-bit version)?

No. They're not certified for 64-bit versions.

  • Problems running Dreamweaver CS3

Hi, i hown an Acer Aspire 8920g (Vista home premium).
The problem is: when i try to run Dreamweaver CS3 (it doesn't
mater if it is my licensed version or the trial version from the
Adobe site), the green spash screen opens, but it stops and then
    crashes when showing "initializing files".
I tried several times, with or without Vista SP1 and updating
acer drivers from acer website, but nothing.
I tried to run it without Aero, in XPSP2 mode, but nothing.
I have to say i have this problem only on this machine; i
already installed Dreamweaver CS3 on other computers with Vista and
    everyting was ok.
I have problems installing Dreamweaver 8 too (it seem it runs
bu, after the splash screen, it disapears all of a sudden, with no
    processes running).
How can i do to install a version of Dreamweaver on my new
    computer?
    Thanks for your answers.

I recommend you contact Adobe directly and use one of your
    one-on-one
    support incidents.

  • Run Dreamweaver cs3 on two computers for same website?

    Hi,
I just purchased a 2nd computer and I want to move/add Dreamweaver to that. My goal is to really use the computer I have now as a "backup" and the new one as the one I work on my site with. But I'd like to be able to update the "backup" computer so that both have the same info. updated daily or at all times. Is this hard to do? Possible?
Also, one way or the other, what is the best way for me to move Dreamweaver and my website folder to the new computer. Do I install Dreamweaver with the original disk then move the files later. Any tips on best way to transfer so many files?
    Sorry question so long.
    Thanks much.
    Ken

I didn't really think that was info. you would need. But if it matters...
old computer Windows Home premium, 32 bit
New computer Windows 7, 64 bit
Do you need any other info.?

  • Unable to run iTunes  store on 64 bit Windows 7, only loads half way.

    I need help.
    Using a Windoze 7 64 bit, I have downloaded iTunes 10.5.
But when I run it I get to half way on the top bar for the store and no further.
Therefore I cannot access the store.
Norton 360 say it is an iTunes problem and Apple say it is a Norton problem.
Any advice tips or solutions? Preferably the latter.
    thanks

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:

  • I am trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on Windows 8 it says "The Installer Database is corrupt"

I am trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on my new Windows 8 PC and when I run SETUP.EXE it says "The Installer Database is corrupt" on both my original CD and backup I made.

    The error is here:

This will most likely never work. CS3 wasn't even fit for Win 7. Delete the caps.db in the respective caps folder (info here) and then take the usual steps of running as admin, turning off UAC and security tools and possibly using compatibility modes, but as I said, be prepared that this may be futile and you spend a Sunday afternoon without achieving anything...

  • Dreamweaver CS3 in Vista 64 and Windows 7

I am running Dreamweaver CS3 on Vista 64 and Windows 7 Pro for about 2 months now.
When I go to set up a new Site Definition and select a Local root folder, I find I have to go down an extra directory in order to get Dreamweaver to select the directory I want as root. (example: have to select the image directory).
Windows 7 is out officially now, I wonder if this problem has been fix in CS4, and how CS4 preforms on Windows 7.
I have been hodling off upgrading to CS4 for a year now, since Adobe has not make any statements about Windows 7 support.  If adobe has release some statements, can someone point me to the statement?
What is the possible release schedule for CS5, I am thinking May 2010?

That's as good as anyone else's guess.

    CS3: April 2007 (24 months)

  • Installing Dreamweaver CS3 with Windows Xp Sp2

Hi, I'm having trouble installing the Dreamweaver CS3 trial
in my Windows XP SP2 machine.
I dont know if I have an adecuate processor, that seems to me
its the only one of the requirements I might not complete.
I have an AMD Athlon 2500+ processor with 1Gig of ram... the
    last Dreamweaver runs smoothly.
Can someone tell me if this processor is P4 compatible, Xeon,
    CoreDuo, etc. compatible.
If so, whats the problem with the installation, because it
    begins but shuts down automatically.

You guys aren't the only ones having problems. I'm having the
same exact problems myself. If you take a look at this forum
    thread,
    http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx?14@@.3bc3b755/57
they offer possible solutions for Photoshop CS3 - because the
installer is the same, the solution works for dreamweaver as well.
Unfortunately for me, I've tried all of their possible solutions,
no luck. It baffles me why Adobe would package all their new
software with such a buggy installer. Anyhow, if anyone has any
    other suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 uninstall on MAC computer then install and activate on Windows PC

    Dear Sir or Madam,
I have bought and installed Dreamweaver CS3 on my MAC computer since 2008.
I am now using a Windows computer and I would like to:
    1) uninstall Dreamweaver CS3 from my old MAC computer
    2) install, then activate Dreamweaver CS3 on my new Windows computer
Could you please help me how to go about that?
    Thank you for your help,
    Zied Smiri

You can't. Serial numbers are platform specific and platform swaps are only available for the current version which is CS6. CS3 is also too old to qualify for an upgrade so your only options are to buy CS6 or subscribe to the Creative Cloud version of Dreamweaver.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 and Athlon 64

I just installed Creative Suite 3 Web Premium on my computer.
When I run Dreamweaver CS3, PerfMon shows the processor spiking to
between 80-100% every few seconds. Avg. pages/sec and disk queue
length don't seem to be affected. This happen when I'm actively
working on page(s). If Dreamweaver is idle, the processor does not
    spike.
    My computer is running:
Windows XP Pro - 32 bit
    AMD Athlon 64 3400+
    2 GB of RAM
55 GB hard drive, 20 GB free
Dreamweaver is using around 76 MB of ram, and this remains
    constant as the CPU spikes.
Are there any known issues with running Dreamweaver CS3 on
Athlon 64, or has anyone else experienced this problem?

Spikes in cpu usage by itself is not a problem. DW does some
    processing
(such as updating remote file lock status) during "idle" time
    to give
user more cpu to complete tasks.
Are you seeing lags trying to complete a task? That would be
    a problem.
If so, please provide more details.
    Thanks,
    Randy

  • Dreamweaver CS3 Mac -- PowerPC vs Intel

    I have Dreamweaver CS3 running on a dual 1.8 Power Mac G5
with 1.5 gigs of RAM, and I think it's a dog. It's so much slower
at everything than DW8 that I find it impractical for daily
use—especially for managing a remote site via FTP. It seems
to work much faster and reliably for my colleagues on Windows XP on
newish PCs, however, I'm wondering if what I need is a new Intel
Mac. If anyone is running Dreamweaver CS3 on a MacBook Pro or Mac
Pro system, I would like to know your impressions.

I just received a brand new MacBook Pro with 2 gigs. I'm
    running CS3 Mac and
Win (with Parallels) I don't like the Mac UI and stuff, but I
    must say that
I'm very impressed with the performance. I've it hooked to a
    20" monitor and
now I barely use my Desktop PC which is a Core2
    Quad/2.4Gz/4Gigs/64 bits (to
tell you how good is the MacBook Pro).
I just can't stand the keyboard though...

  • CS3 Incopy crashes on Windows 7

    Hello everyone,
I just upgraded my pagination system to use CS3 under Windows 7.
I am now experiencing nightly InCopy CS3 crashes on both 32-bit, 4 gig Windows 7 machines and 64-bit 12-gig machines.
My vendor has traced the InCopy crashes to notes inside teh story/file possible at certain locations.
Are there any know issues with CS3 running under 32 and 64 bit Windows 7 that could be related to notes modes with CS3 Incopy?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Malcolm

Vendor software. We went from CS2 on Win2000 machines to CS3 on Windows 7. New software uses CS3 Incopy and InDesign to create pages. Getting sparodic situations where InCopy woukld crash so we have to unlock files, strip out notes, and then we're ok.
Other sites are on Windows 7 but most are on XP.
Just wondering if there are any known issues with CS3 on Windows 7 even though Microsoft has not certified CS3.
May have to take the drastic step of going from Windows 7 to XP.

  • Code view not in synch with Design view (Dreamweaver CS3)

    Hello All,
On my main work PC, I am running Dreamweaver CS3. When I am
working in split view (with both Design and Code view visible) when
I click on an element (say, a button) in Design view, the code view
automatically shows me the code for the element that I am working
on. That way, if I need to manually edit the code, I can click on
the Code view and make the appropriate changes.
On my laptop I am also running Dreamweaver CS3 However, when
I am working in split view and I click on a element in Design view,
my code view does NOT update itself and continues to show the last
bit of code I was working on in Code view. While this could come in
handy at times where i want design view and code view to show me
two different things, I mostly would like code view to update
automatically. Currently the only way I can get code view to update
on my laptop is to hit the "refresh design view (F5)" button. Is
there a way to do this automatically? Is this an option in
Dreamweaver preferences because I don't see it anywhere.
Thanks so much for your help.

No. If you feel that it's an important enhancement that you
