Running Firefox beta 14.0.1; The option to untick "tabs at top" is no longer in View Toolbars or when I right click any toolbar. Help?

I'd really love to move my tabs to below my address bar like I've always had them before now. Really bugging me.

That option was removed from the interface, but can still be accessed by changing a hidden setting.
# Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter, accept the warning message that appears and you will then be presented with a list of preferences.
# Locate the preference '''browser.tabs.onTop''' and double-click on it to change its value to '''false'''

  • The option to Set Breakpoints does not show up when I right-click any step

    Hi All,
I am working with a SSIS package and trying to set breakpoints to view the contents of package scoped variables. I am running SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and developing in Visual Studio 2008.
When I right-click on an Execute SQL Task (or ANY step in the package) I see no menu pick to "Edit Breakpoints" or "Set Breakpoint". Can someone tell me why that option is missing?
    TIA

    Arthur,
    Thank you so much.
Your answer might seem obvious to most everyone but me. The SSIS package was part of a larger ASP.NET Web Site project. As a result whenever I opened the Web Site Project the package showed up in the Solution Explorer and of course I just opened it. Nowhere
have I read that if the package is opened in that manner so many development features would be missing.
How foolish of me to also assume that if I started "SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio" and simply opened a package...that those critical features would not appear. Live and learn. LOL
    Have a great day!

  • Where is the "firefox button" that is used to change tab location ("click on the Firefox button, go over to the Options... arrow and uncheck Tabs on Top. ")

Where is the "firefox button" that is used to change tab location ("click on the Firefox button, go over to the Options... arrow and uncheck Tabs on Top. ") (from article).
The "Tools" menu has an "Options" selection, but I cannot find in any of those menus a selection controlling the location of the tabs. Where is the "Firefox Button" referred to in the article "Why are tabs on Top?"

If you turn on the classic menu bar, that replaces the orange Firefox button. To get the Firefox button back, right-click the menu bar to display the toolbars list, and uncheck Menu Bar.
You can always temporarily display the classic menu bar by tapping the Alt key or pressing F10.
The toolbar list pop-up also lets you control Tabs on Top.

  • Running Firefox beta on nexus 7..4 the last two days O/S crashes using various websites..is there a fix?

running Firefox beta on Google nexus 7 with android v.4.4.2 with no issues until the last two days.
Various websites like Facebook, CTV.ca, any and many while running on Firefox will freeze up, and then crash.
    most annoying!
Is there a fix for this, or do I have to uninstall and reinstall Firefox?
    thanks for your kind assistance!

Do you have any crash ids? Type about:crashes in the address bar and then when the page loads copy the links into this question.

  • When I go to fillout a feedback form it tells me I'm not running Firefox Beta

When I click out the "feedback" button on the top right and select either "Firefox made me sad because..." or "Firefox made me happy because..." It takes me to a webpage that says I'm not running Firefox Beta. I'm running it in a Virtual Machine, could that be why?

I believe this is due to the original planned release date for beta 3.
Beta 3 was originally planned to be released on August 6th, but has been delayed for a few days. The feedback system appears to have been setup to stop feedback from beta 2 from 6th August when beta 3 was originally planned for release. The feedback system will work again once beta 3 is released.
I noted that you posted this from Firefox 3.6.8, I take it you also have Firefox 4.0 beta 2 installed.

My system recovered from a serious error recently. During the error, Firefox crashed. Since I have restarted my system and Firefox, I cannot use any of the toolbar options such as:close, minimise and maximise. Also, when I right click, an outline of a box appears without the visible options although on some occasions they appear after 10 seconds or so. Can you advise me of what to do to cure this problem please or is it a case of using a Windows tool such as System Restore?

  • In the Firefox Downloads dialog box, does the option "Remove from List" mean that the selected download will be deleted? (I want to delete it.)

I am using Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3, on a Dell_GX620. I went to the Addictedtoradio.com website that I had used on my Samsung phone yesterday for the first time. I was able to play 1980's music on the phone without any special adaptations to the phone. I tried to do the same on my home computer. I went to the website but when I tried to access the music, it directed me to download a file, Xvidinstall.exe, and I did that. It is described as 382 kb - totalvidplayer.com. I am using AVG Anti-virus free edition that is supposed to protect my computer when web browsing. However, once I had downloaded the file, I got the standard Windows message that it is an executable file that might contain viruses that could harm my computer. At this point I began to wish that I had not downloaded it, I don't want to take the risk. I'll get my music another way. I have not opened the download but I assume it is now on my computer and I want to get rid of it, without opening it. When I right-click on this file (in the Firefox downloads list), one of the options is "Remove from list". There is no "Delete" option. If I remove it from the list, will it be deleted? Or will it still be present on my computer but just not shown in the list? I would like to remove it from my computer because it might contain viruses. How can I be certain to remove it safely?

The remove from list just removed it from Firefox's download list, the file will still be on your computer. You'll have to find wherever you download the file to on your PC (right click it in Firefox's download manager and click "Open Containing folder") and delete it there to remove it from your computer.

  • I cannot download individual pictures from ebay. When I right click the picture (enlarged) or the small picture I don't get the option to "save picture as". Is this a firefox problem or a yahoo problem?

I always use firefox to browse the internet. When I attempt to save a picture from ebay I have always enlarged the picture, right click, the clicked "save picture as". Now when I right click I don't get that option. All it will let me do is save the entire ebay item file. When I right click on the enlarged picture, the small picture, or the white near the enlarged photo my icon choices are: 1.Copy 2. Select All 3.Yahoo 4. Search Yahoo for "Please wait imag" 5. View selection source. Is this a firefox problem or a yahoo issue? Please help. Thanks John

I've tried all kinds of different ways to make it work, and nothing! The only way I can get the pictures off ebay is open up a internet explorer window and go that route. Fire fox NEEDS to fix this NOW!

  • I need to run Illustrator in Rosetta Mode and the option isn't in Get Info

    Hello everyone,
I need help. I need to run Illustrator in Rosetta Mode and the option isn't in Get Info.
I'm using CS3 on a Mac Book Pro 2.16GHz with 2gigs of RAM. When I get info on the Illustrator App, there isn't a rosetta option.
To be clear, I'm right-clicking on the icon in the dock, choosing 'show in finder', clicking on the Illustrator icon in there and there's no option.
NOW, my copy of Photoshop HAS the option! It's in the general tab just over the Lock option.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks!

  • Firefox 4 does not have the option of choosing which page to go back to

Previous versions of Firefox (and IE) have a down arrow as part of the page back/page forward facility. This gives the option of how many pages you can go back or forward from the current open page.
Firefox 4 no longer has this facility. This is not a posaitive move on Mozilla's part. Will it be restored at the first update?

Here on Firefox 4.01. And the option you look for is still there but they replaced it's position: it now is on the right of the URL bar together with the refresh-button and the add-bookmark-button.
Personally I think it's a bad place for that back-button because it was perfectly and logically placed where it was.

  • Often, Firefox app will close, but the underlying Windows process will not and cannot be stopped via Task Manager. When this happens, Firefox can no longer be used...the system must be rebooted.

    Hello,
Often, the Firefox app will close, but the underlying Windows process will not and cannot be stopped via Task Manager. When this happens, Firefox can no longer be used...the system must be rebooted. This happens especially when many apps are running but even though there are plenty of memory resources available.
I have tried to find if something is using Firefox in the background, but have no way to know what that would be.
Their are no apparent viruses detected.
Firefox is version v5.0 and occurred in earlier release.
    System is Windows 7 (64bit).

well, it's not the same hardware and it's a bit different.
I managed to pass that stage somehow but I still have a problem
I don't use the built-in creator tool that comes with Spyrus as it doesn't know how to append a pre-staged media that was created by SCCM that should apply the Windows file system to a second partition and the WinPE to the first partition.
I managed to do everything. my only problem is that the WTGCreator that comes with SCCM 2012 R2 creates the 350MB partition with FAT32 file system.
when I boot from the device I get the WinPE, I can choose a task sequence and then it fails when trying to apply the wim file. the error tells me that the 350MB partition is FAT32 which is not supported (even though it chooses the second partition, which
is all the rest of the disk space)
what I did was adding another task that converts the 32 Fat partition to an NTFS partition and then the process continues and finishes successfully! but that's a workaround.
I'm trying to make this process as smooth as possible without having additional steps

  • Last night suddenly when I right-click-view-images in firefox, they appear centered and against a black background. It's usually meant to be a white background and the image appearing at top left. How to revert it?

I'm having trouble with something in firefox, it's quite minor but still bugs me. Last night suddenly when I right-click-view-images in firefox, they appear centered and against a black background. It's usually meant to be a white background and the image appearing at top left. I can't remember what I did to change this if it's my fault; if someone knows how to revert it I'd be thankful.

cor-el : thanks for the pointers! I wish the solution isn't an add-on every time ... if such long-standing behaviour is going to change, the least that could be done is put in an about:config option to get back the old behaviour.

  • When I right click on an Item to copy and pasdte it the Copyt button on my mouse does not work with firefox, it works everywhere else...I highlight an item andt

I have tried all the solutions so far. they did not change the outcome. My right mouse will not show the copy command. I am getting the drop down menu when I right click and I can highlight words but when I right click to copy and paste the copy does not work... it was working fine until I did the last update for foxfire.. I have 22.0 version

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
    <b> To Enable SafeMode </b>
*You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
*''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox"; Linux: "Firefox/File > Quit")

  • I do not have the option Add App-Tabs when I want to pin a bookmark? How to solve? (FF 5.0)

When I right-click with my mouse in the adress-bar there is no option to add as App Tab.

This is a Firefox support forum, not a Windows forum. I'd suggest you try somewhere such as [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum56.html http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum56.html]

  • How do I remove the "recent" section that shows up when I right click firefox on my taskbar?

When I right click on firefox window in my taskbar it shows a "recent" section that displays my recent downloads above the "close this window" and other options. I find this annoying and I would like to remove it. I already have set firefox to not remember my download history, but that didn't help.

    # In the FF address bar, type "about:config", without the quotes
    # Press the enter key
    # In the filter, type "taskbar", without the quotes
    # Double-click the value for '''browser.taskbar.lists.frequent.enabled''' to change from true to false
    # Double-click the value for '''browser.taskbar.lists.tasks.enabled''' to change from true to false
