Running IOs 5.1.1 on original Ipad. System constantly crashes returning to the home screen when in internet. Using Safari browser. is there anything I can upgrade or clear to help??
There are a few things that you could try. First try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

In order to close apps in iOS 7, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.

Hello, I have a problem when I connect to the computer ipad 2 in itunes and click on the "Programs", itunes crashes and writes simply an error. when connecting the iphone does not. everywhere is version 7.0. Itunes is also the latest version. thank you

When I'm browsing some apps my IPad is automatically closing the page down and returning the main home page. I'm concerned this could be some sort of virus and wondering what I can to stop this happening.
H gave you the right answer BUT he didn't explain it very well! I never "backed up" or "restored", so I wouldn't know what he was talking about either! But now I do:
If your Apps keep closing (linked with or without Facebook): Go to a desktop or Laptop computer only and log on to iTunes and delete the App (like Jackpot Party.) that keeps crashing.
Then you have to plug in the device you are using that the apps crash on and use iTunes to restore your iOS device back to factory settings. ( After you sync and back up your device to iTunes!)

After restore, go to iTunes store and download the App again ( if it was a game, all levels/coins will still be there!)

Original ipad wouldn't recharge and is now dead after reset.
hey. when i plugged my original ipad into the electricity for recharge, it did not recharge. the adapter worked on another ipad. i tried to reset all data hoping it would work, but during the reset process, it ran out of battery. and now all it displays is the large empty battery in the middle of the screen. after i plug it for a few minutes, it gives the apple logo but still it wouldn't continue to the main screen and doesn't recharge.obviously when i tried to use itunes, it did not work because ipad is out of battery. i appreciate your help.

So I just updated to the newest update that was available for safari and iTunes but now it won't let me go on the Internet using safari and it also won't let me sync my songs ,,,,,(it takes forever to backup my iPad AND my iPod) so what can I do ?

This worked for me an hour ago and has allowed me to sync ok. Still haven't tried downloading the new version 5 to the phone yet as I'm still backing up photos etc just in case.
1. Quit itunes
2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> right click Command Prompt -> Run as Administrator)
3. Once in the command prompt type the following 3 words starting where your cursor is flashing: netsh winsock reset
4. press ENTER
5. Reboot your machine
6. Restart itunes & connect device to sync

Running Macbook Pro, Mac OS 10.6.8, Bootcamp 3.3, & W7 64 Home Premium. What do I use to backup my W7 Partition to create an image like Norton Ghost that I can use to restore windows partition.

There really are "?" (Help} icons and the backup feature will even remind you to create a system restore image the first time.
(I still think a reference manual for $25 makes sense too, or at least learn to use Google.)

If you came from 10.6, 10.7/10.8 will no longer run PPC based programs.
First run through this list of fixes, then reinstall all your programs from fresh sources for 10.8 compatability

I've always used PC and I'm planning on making the transition to Mac. That's why I'm considering buying an iPad. Today I went to Best Buys and the Mac guy told me that it isn't possible to connect the iPad to an Infocus and a remote for ppt presentations at the same time. Is that true? I'm a speaker and that was the main reason I was considering buying an iPad, so I didn't have to carry my laptop. Thanks for your help!

Why is the sound of my new ipad cutting out intermittently and what does Apple recommend to solve the problem in lieu of any updates? All of a sudden without changing any settings, the audio on my NEW ipad cuts in and out on applications/ games, keypad noise and lock sounds. The rocker button only seems to work while the sound is intermittently being heard before, after a few seconds of noise not doing anything when sound goes off.
This is highly frustrating as I've noticed others posting about such issues as far back as April. Anybody had the same thing happen to them? Is this likely software (ios6) or hardware issue? If it does indeed show the warranty has expired, then what you need to do from here will depend on who you purchased the iPad from and when you really did purchase it. Perhaps you actually purchased it in August and are just misremembering? Check your receipt. I have been using the apple IPad camera connection kit and my photos can be viewed in the events... But the all imported folder is no longer there and the last import folder is empty. Is there any way to resolve this and get my all imported folder back? as well as get my last import functioning normally?

I'm on Firefox 3.6.8 running on a 2008 IMAC with OS 10.5.8 yet every click to move pages, from start-up, to return to Home Page takes minutes, not seconds! If I use Safari that's greatly faster on this same set-up. How do I get Firefox to be as fast ?
