Running iTunes on my computer with my iTouch
So I've got a computer hooked up to my stereo and the iTunes files there are full lossless so I'd like to listen to that rather then the compressed sounds that are on my iTouch when I'm home. And I'd like to control it from the iTouch since the computer is pretty inaccessible.
The Remote app that Apple makes does a reasonable job of this, but I've got two complaints: No cover flow view and I've got lyrics for most everything which I can't find a way to view then while in Remote.
Anyone know any solutions? Either something in Remote I haven't figured out or maybe another app?
Thanks

I have an iMac as my home computer, upgraded to this about a year ago from a windows pc and love it.
However...
I have a HP Compaq laptop that i am running with Windows Vista, which I use when travelling. A while ago, I believe on an update, to either windows or itunes, it stopped running iTunes and comes up with the error : Runtime Error: R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
I have a reasonable amount of tunes stored on my laptop, and am unable to ascertain as to whether this fix for allowing itunes to work again will delete my music folder and lose all the tunes i have on my laptop already?
The contents of my music folders on my laptop and iMac are not the same, as they are not synced!
Any help please on this would be appreciated!

Unable to install itunes for new computer with windows 8
unable to install itunes for new computer with windows 8
states this app unable to run on this PCHello jgrn76,
It sounds like you are getting an error stating that the iTunes installer cannot be run on your computer. I would try downloading the 64 bit version of iTunes from here:
iTunes 11.1.3 for Windows (64-bit)
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1615
If issues persist when trying to install it, I would try running through the steps in the article named:
Issues installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1926
Otherwise, would you mind elaborating a bit on what the error message says, word for word?
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Hi I lost my stuff from iTunes after I synced with my iTouch
Hi, I don't know if anyone else may have experienced this problem but I lost all my content from iTunes after I synced with my iTouch, but I had a message saying that my iTouch was authorized from a different user but I authorized it on my account but when it synced, I had lost all my music, videos, and apps that I had in my iTunes library. I have all my stuff in my iTouch. All of my content are still in the iTunes folder, but I see the XML document of the iTunes Library (where all my information is), and 7 Temp. Files in the iTunes folder as well. Is there a way to get all of my content back in place?
Thanks,
JoseSyncing an iDevice with a computer does not cause the content on the computer to disappear.
Was there actually content in the iTunes library prior to syncing?
Are the files still on the computer?
In the iTunes folder, are there multiple iTunesLibrary.itl files, like an old copy(ies)? -

iTunes needs a library to continue, you may choose an existing library or create a new one.

Once you get a complete iTunes folder on the external drive, start iTunes with the option/alt key held down and select the iTunes Library.itl file on the external drive. You will also need to do this with your main computer or the libraries will become unsynchronized.
Alternatively you can make a separate library using the same media on the second computer. Start as you have been doing, let iTunes create a new, blank library file which will be on hte internal drive, set the media folder location in preferences to be the one on the external drive, then add the files to the new iTunes library. Unless you are a super-organized individual, or you don't care if your libraries do not have the same content, you are better off using a single library file that is on the external, not setting up separate library files. -
Linking itunes on new computer with library on external drive
I have just purchased a new PC and want to run Itunes on it. I had moved my library to an external hard drive which I want to use with the new computer. I have downloaded iTunes to the new computer but I don't know how to get it to find the library on the external drive. Is this an easy procedure even for someone with limited computer skills?
Thanks for responding Chris. I followed the instructions from Apple and moved the music files over to the external drive. I'm not sure what that left of itunes on the old computer. Now I've downloaded itunes to the new computer and even though the external drive is connected itunes library is empty. I can see that all the music files are actually on the external drive, I just don't know how to get the two linked. I'd like to keep all the music on the external drive to conserve space.

Ipod touch does not appear in itunes on a computer with windows 8.1
I purchased the latest ipod touch for my daughter from an apple store but it would not display in Itunes on a computer running Windows 8.1.
The apple technician got it to work but in the process disabled the the driver for the CD/DVD reader. What gives? If your iPod touch does not appear under Devices in iTunes after you connect it to your Windows PC, refer to the troubleshooting suggestions here:

i dont normally rush into updated things but i did and after having updated my itunes and itouch, films dont synch onto my itouch from my pc? any ideas?
thanks
adeSyncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your iPod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your device for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

Syncing money on itunes acct in computer with ipod touch
I redeemed a gift card for $15. My ITunes store on my laptop shows $15.34. But when I Sync the computer with my IPod touch... the $15 does not show on the IPod touch. My account show only .34. How do I sync it properly so that I can purchase from the IPod touch?
Sync has nothing to do with it.
The money is on the account. If you are logged into the account on your ipod, then you should have access to the same credit as any other device logged into that account.
Are you connected to wi-fi?
Have you tried restarting your ipod or simply closing itunes on the ipod and opening again? -

Installing iTunes on new computer with library on external HD
I have my library on an external HD and have been using it with my laptop. Well the laptop is dead and I'm wanting to start using my mini. I downloaded iTunes, authorized the computer, signed in, plugged in the external HD and changed the pathway of the media folder location to the folder where the library is on the external HD (under the advanced tab of preferences). iTunes still does not "see" the library. What else do I need to do? I really do not want to copy it over to the computer's HD, I'd like to continue using the external HD since it has 1TB.
Thanks so much for the help.Launch iTunes with the Shift key held down, click on Choose Library, and point it there. If only the iTunes media was stored on the drive, open the Advanced section of its preferences, ensure it's not going to copy the media to the internal drive, and drag the iTunes media folder into the open iTunes application window.
