  • Run two monitors from my 15-inch MacBook Pro (Non-retina, mid 2012)?

I'm looking to run two monitors from my 15-inch MacBook Pro (Non-retina, mid 2012). I don't want to use the actual laptop screen in this setup, I just want to use the two external monitors.
My 15-inch MacBook Pro (Non-retina, mid 2012) has the following ports on the side:
FireWire 800 port (up to 800 Mbps)
Two USB 3 ports (up to 5 Gbps)
Thunderbolt port (up to 10 Gbps)
I currently use the Thunderbolt port to one external monitor.
My question is: Is it better to run the second monitor via USB 3, or FireWire (if that's even possible)? What would you recommend?

    See -> http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/dh2go/digital_me/.
Good and simple way to get two monitors from one Thunderbolt port.

  • Running LV application from remote panel which measures FP through different LAN

My LabVIEW application is running in a PC and it takes measurements from the FieldPoint modules which are connected via the FP-1601 network module.
I want to view and execute the application from another PC using remote panel option. The master PC has two LAN connections, one seperate connection for the FieldPoint module and the second one to connect with other PCs.
But the application returns error while initializing the FP modules when executed from remote panel.
Will the application be able to communicate and take measurements from the FieldPoint module in this case? Please explain.
Thanks for the help and awaiting earlier response.
    Thank you,
    Rajeswari

In principle this I believe this is a TCP/IP routing issue.
If your fieldpoint unit is connected to one card lets say
    Card 01 Host 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0 ---- Fieldpoint 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.0
    Card 02 Host 168.95.0.1 255.255.0.0 ---- Lan 168.95.x.x 255.255.0.0
The routing in the host takes care of which card is used for which network segment.
My guess is that you have not seperated the network segments as shown above.
    Is this correct ?

  • Running two displays from MBP Retina under windows

I'm looking at purchasing a MBP Retina 13".  I have two external monitors that can accept HDMI and DVI (neither can do displayport).  Some software that I run requires me to sometimes boot into windows.  Under windows 7, can I output a DVI signal from each of my thunderbolt ports?  Do I just need to run two mini-displayport to DVI adapters?  Or is not that simple?  (both external monitors are 1900x1080)

    Hi,
    read the documentation:
    http://www.oracle.com/pls/db112/to_pdf?pathname=install.112/e24169.pdf
and you will find multiple errors, you probably did.
Especially the part on preparing storage.

  • How to automatically run javascript code from Captivate 3?

    Howdy everyone,
My company uses a custom webpage to display the finished SWF files generated by Captivate 3.  This page has menu buttons on the side that link to other videos that are related to the video being watched.
We want to add a little bit of spice to the menu, and highlight the next video in the series after the current SWF has finished playing.
Now I know that Captivate 3 will launch a Javascript code when either a button is pushed, a text box is used, or a clickbox is activated, but we are looking for a way for Captivate 3 to launch a Javascript code apart from user input.  Any suggestions?

    Hi there
One of the options you have available when Captivate finishes playing a movie is to Execute JavaScript. Perhaps use that?

  • Is it possible to run javascript not from documents?

For example - I put my *.js file into some javascript folder and Acrobat use it (adds menu items...) for all documents
Is it possible? Working like with plugins...

Yes, it's possible. Such scripts are called folder-level scripts.
Here's a good place to start learning about them:

  • Acrobat 8.1.2 hangs when printing from IE 7  under XP Pro x64

    Hey Community,
my Acrobat Standard 8.1.2 and my Internet Explorer 7.05.... hang up when printing. Im running XP Pro x64 recent version.
The other features printing from word or scanning do work well.
Has somebody an idea how to fix that bug ?
    Thanks Frederik
Funny thing - I just tested it out to describe the situation better:
    First test:
I used the embedded printing icon in the toolbar and printing worked fine with www.FTD.de. Adobe did print eather already started or by automatic start on print icon. It worked several times in a row. But often Homepages are not scaled, so only part of the page was on the paper, because there is no option use the properties. Once Adobe opened I saw a new feature that I have downloaded some Multimedia features with the document and if I would like to listen to them.
    Second Test:
I did the same job with using the File/Print command, set adobe as printer
and the job hang up in this version. But to say, it is the internet explorer which hangs up. I couldn't minimize the window, IE was just freezed. After terminating IE via task manager the Adobe window of defining the files name showed up, but the process does not finish (X IE)
After opening IE I tried to run Test1 with the still running Acobat but I got en error message from Adobe. After closing and starting Acrobat again the Test1 process worked fine without problem and without prior restart of the machine.
I also tested this with Kapersky deactivated to make sure that the Multiimedia Content does not cause the trouble, but no changes I.E. just
    hangs up.
    Has somebody an idea?
    Frederik

Problem solved. Does only happen with the Internet Explorer 32bit.
With Internet Explorer 64bit it doesn't happen.

  • Running  .class file from autoexec.bat (in Windows Xp environment)

How to run a .class file from autoexec.bat file. I have WinXP installed on my PC. I tried the solution given by Forum memebers but they didn't work.
    after setting the classpath
    i wrote
java -cp simple in autoexec.bat , but results were not satisfactory.

What does "not satisfactory" mean? If the commans works from any .bat file, it'll work from autoexec.bat, too.
May I ask what you're trying to accomplish? I'm not sure whether XP dtill uses autoexec.bat for console initialization after all.

  • Why isn't the Adobe Exchange Panel opening in Flash Pro CS6?

It says it's installed but when I go to Window>Extensions>
and then there is nothing, no other menu to go from.

    Hi HunterOSx and Svagers,
How did you install the Adobe Exchange extension?
I would recommend downloading the latest updates for Extension Manager from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/exchange/em_download/
...and downloading the latest Adobe Exchange ZXP from www.adobeexchange.com (it was updated on Friday). Make sure that you open the ZXP with Adobe Exchange CS6 for it to be available in Flash Pro CS6. If you also have Extension Manager CS5 installed, it's possible that you've accidentally installed the panel into Flash Pro CS5.
Let me know how you get on.
    Best wishes,
    Fraser

  • Running Solaris 11 from a USB drive with persistent changes - possible?

I am wanting to use Solaris 11 as the basis of a NAS for home use; the hardware is a HP N40L Microserver populated with 5 HDDs. As all of these HDDs will be used for data storage in a zpool configuration, I have no more physical space (without further hacks) inside the case for an additional OS drive. Therefore, I am wondering if it is possible to run Solaris 11 from a fast USB flash drive. I know there is a live USB image, but AFAIK, any configuration changes made when running this will not remain after a reboot - is this correct? And if so, is there any way to make the changes persistent?
The only discussion I could find on this subject is this thread from a couple of years ago: https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2235078 - but I don't think the guy got a definitive answer.

Running the important rpool on USB stick is not my favorite configuration. I would recommend reducing your data pool down to 4 devices and putting your root pool on the 5th disk. People ask about this in the datacenter and I wrote a best practice for it, which is not to use a USB stick for rpool, here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26502_01/html/E29007/zfspools-4.html#gentextid-12349
Your data is important, but the root pool is very important for keeping your data available. In the datacenter, we also worried that rack vibration might wiggle the stick right out of the drive. For home use, I've heard about pets jumping on boxes and disconnecting disk cables. Sounds paranoid, but I've seen it/heard it all.
There is no reason why you can't put rpool on a USB stick, some operations might not be easy (see Dave's post), but I don't think its the best choice for optimal data availability.
    Thanks, Cindy

  • Can't burn CD using iTunes under XP Pro

I don't know when this problem developed but it's been months since I last burned a CD from iTunes. I'm running iTunes 7.0.1.8 under XP Pro and I keep getting the message "can't recognize burner or software" (or words to this effect). I have a Sony DRU-710A DVD burner which is listed on Apple's list of compatible devices.
I am totally up to date on my updates (including one that popped up automatically the day after I submitted the problem to Apple - a coincidence???)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This is a new experience for me. I am not accustomed to participating in a product forum and not being able to solve a problem. I posted to this forum about this problem for the 1st time several weeks ago and I still don't know how to fix this problem. What is with this forum that no one either knows how to fix it or cares enough to respond. I am not impressed. All I hear is how great Apple products are. Are their owners really this clueless as to how to fix what sounds like a ridiculously trival problem like not being able to burn a CD. Tonight I went into ITunes Preference/Advanced/Burning and even see the model of the DVD burner installed on my PC. And still ITunes can't figure out how to use that DVD burner. I'm ready sell my IPOD and buy a Zune. I'm sure Microsoft values their customers more than this.

  • Run javascript (not in a jsx file) from the command line extendscript

    Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to run javascript from the command line in Extendscript (meaning Extendscript would be the target application). I know about the -run command line flag in which allows you to run a .jsx script from the command line but what I'm looking for similar syntax to run a script directly without needing to put it in a file. For example I have tried (obviously unsuccessfully):
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit CC\ExtendScript Toolkit.exe -run "alert('Hello World');"
    Thanks!

You might be looking for something like this: javascript - Is it possible to execute JSX scripts from outside ExtendScript? - Stack Overflow
Although that one is about executing JSX files, the solutions given (Applescript as well as COM/VBScript) can be adapted to simply run a javascript code snippet rather than JSX file because the solutions simply call the Adobe app's Applescript/COM API to "execute javascript" (actually execute ExtendScript technically), and in the solution, they using includes to pull in the JSX file. You'd simply replace the include with actual javascript code snippet inserted in.
Though this would then require you to run a VBScript, Applescript, or other script (that calls the COM/Applescript API) rather than the ESTK command line option.

  • Pass an argument from external jsx to html panel?

    Hi everyone,
Can you please tell me if it's possible somehow to listen to event from the external jsx in html panel? What I'm trying to do is to pass an argument from JSX to HTML Panel and to update
    the panel with it.
    Many thanks,
    Sergey

    Hi Sergey!
What I was suggesting privately to you (I report this here for the others' sake) is to use soon-to-be-released CEP5 technology: http://blogs.adobe.com/cssdk/2014/04/introducing-cep-5.html
    Chiefly, the part that says:
Call from ExtendScript into HTML DOM: Most of the currently supported Adobe apps (including but not only Photoshop CC and Illustrator CC) will include a new ExternalObject which provides an API that allows developers to dispatch events from ExtendScript to the JavaScript/HTML5
But we have to wait for the next update of CC apps to support it!
