Running Mac with Mountain Lion 10.8.5 using Safari. pogo game won't load. it sez I don't have latest version of adobe flash. My computer tells me I have the latest version, which I just downloaded. What now? How do I get pogo to recognize that I have the latest version

Pogo Games won't load after upgrade to Lion

Upgraded to Lion recently. Everything seems to be working okay, except that I play a lot of games on Pogo.com, and now none of the games will load. I made sure everything (Java, etc) was up to date, but none of it fixed the problem. I tried the games on both Safari and Firefox, and got the same result. Any game I try to open just says "Now Loading (Name of Game)..." and that's all it does.
I went back to an older mac that is still running Snow Leopard, and the games loaded just fine. So I figured it was an issue with Lion.
BUT... on the Snow Leopard computer, I noticed I had an old version of Firefox installed, so I upgraded that to the newest version, and now Pogo games won't load on that either! So, the problem isn't actually Lion. It's the newest versions of the browsers.
I tried contacting EA (pogo) support, but their help page is completely useless. I thought I'd check and see if anyone here has any ideas.

I'm using Fouiny packages for a year (now it's cvs-20060621-1), as he provides ~all of them & they worked without issue ever since. Latest version's getting a bit old

Pogo games won't load in any versions of Firefox, says "connection was reset"

After I took the 3.6.24 update, Pogo games won't load. A page comes up saying "The connection was reset while page was loading, check connection to server!" I have tried upgrading, downgrading, checked Java (have latest version), etc. I've cleared caches, history, etc. This can't be a firewall issue, since nothing was changed from playing one game....to "attempting" to load the next one. I really don't know how this issue occured from playing Gin to Hearts (for example). Please help me!! I liked Firefox and I am temporarily using IE, until this issue can be resolved (but IE is very tempermental, too and is not that dependable).

I have the same problem with connection reset. For awhile I couldn't even bring up pogo home page. I thought it was the ad blocker, but after allowing pogo site on ad blocker, the problem continues. I too am really frustrated with this; everything was fine until I updated Firefox. My solution was to download Google Chrome. Pogo works just fine on that. I still want my Firefox back! Any solutions out there?

Try doing these steps:
Install Firefox 11 from [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com]. simply install it over your current version of Firefox to make sure all Windows Registry settings get recreated correctly.
Run all Windows Updates. Service packs, etc. You may have to run this several times to ensure that you get all needed updates.
Download and Install MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, run a full Scan. [http://www.malwarebytes.org/ http://www.malwarebytes.org/]. This helps check that there are no viruses on your computer causing issues. You can uninstall this program after you clean off any infections.
Update your graphics driver (Firefox uses your graphics card for some rendering, and an out of date graphics card driver can cause problems. [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-upgrade-my-graphics-drivers].
After doing all these steps, try restarting your computer, and seeing if Pogo will run.
If it doesn't work, go into your control panel, and uninstall every installation of Java and Flash that you have. Try to start Firefox in [[Safe mode|Safe mode]]. This mode disables all extensions, user customizations, hardware acceleration, etc. temporarily for diagnostic and troubleshooting. If Firefox works find in Safe Mode, then this is likely an add-on issue. Restart Firefox in normal mode, then type "About:addons" (without the quotes) in the address bar. Disable your extensions one by one, restarting Firefox between each one, until you find the trouble maker. Once you do, you can disable that add-on and report the issue to that add-on's developer.
If it does not help the issue, open up your Firefox Profile. [[Backing up your information|Backing up your information]] shows you where that is stored by default. Delete or rename the "pluginreg.dat" file (make sure Firefox is closed when you do this). Test again.

I have a problem with safari, when I open new tab the tabs don't have the exit button that it used to be on the left corner of each tab and i used to close the safari with command Q witch is not working anymore ! what am I supposed to do ?

Some Pogo games won't load. EA Games suggested Lion Java update but it didn't help.

After updating my 10.6 OS to Lion, I cannot open many of the Pogo games I previously played. EA games ( in Pogo help ) suggested using apple's Java update for Lion. Installing the update did not correct the problem. Is there anything else I can do to get pinochle, canasta and other games in Pogo to load?

Pogo game won't load suddenly

I suddenly cannot get on pogo.com to play Euchre (my hobby)... I think it has something to do with the newest security update which I just downloaded a day or two ago.... coincidentally the same time I began having trouble. I CAN get on the pogo.com website. I CAN log in. I CAN get to the Euchre rooms, but when I press their link to get into a room, it will go no further. For the last two days, it would tell me it was loading..... but never would. Today, it tells me its loading, then eventually gives me an error message that the URL is wrong. I have tried multiple ways to get in and am using THEIR links. I know the site itself is working because I can see that there are many other people playing. Please help me! I miss my hobby.....

I am having the same problem with Pogo and Euchre. I can get the the main page, the Euchre list of available rooms, BUT, when I attempt to to to a room for a game, I get a new window that asks me to to clear my cache. I do this to no avail.

I'm using a mac, my profile can't be found, firefox won't open, and I don't have an application support file for firefox.

I tried to reset firefox because it was running slowly, in the middle of it "cleaning up" my old files something happened and firefox closed. I tried to reopen it and it kept coming up with an error message about my profile not being able to be found etc. I tried looking for solutions but couldn't find one that I could follow. Please help.

Since upgrading to Snow Leopard from V10.4.8 My copy of Open office won't load. I've downloaded the latest version but it still responds with a "time out" message. Anyone know waht's up and what I can do about it. I can't even read my old files.

Since upgrading the OS on my MacBook to Snow Leopard my open office suite has died. All the old files are still on the HDD, but even "finding" them doesn't help as they are opened, unhelpfully, in Text Edit, which loses some of the formatting. I tried downloading the latest edition of Open Office, but it has made no difference. Any suggestions? Apple OS support has no solution to offer.

I have had problems with 3.1 after installing Snow Leopard, with files created in MS Word - they come up with the text invisible (as though it's white, but changing the text colour doesn't help - by highlighting I can tell that the paragraphs are where they should be).
I upgraded to 3.1.1 but that did not solve the problem...
UPDATE: I found out the problem, it was nothing to do with Open Office, but rather the way Snow Leopard handles fonts. I went into the Font Book and found that a number of common fonts are now listed both in the "User" and "Computer" collections. I deleted the duplicate ones from "User" and now all works perfectly.

I was having trouble playing pogo minigolf, so I updated to Mac 10.8.2. I installed new java, etc. I played for about a month or two and all has been good. Now all of a sudden, pogo games won't load. It says I need Java...but that's not it. Any suggestions?

It is because Java has another gaping hole. It was blocked. I think they have a patch, now.

You don't need to install the older version, you only need the serial number from your original purchase. If you don't have them to hand, did you register? If so, they should be in your Adobe account. If not you really need to contact Adobe, though it isn't clear they will be able to do anything without some proof of purchase etc.

I am running Mac 10.4.11 and Safari 4.1.3. When using yahoo mail, a message appears that I need to update my browser to enable me to use the latest yahoo, and that the browser I'm using is unsupported.

You need to upgrade the computer’s OS to get a newer Safari version. Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a G3, no further upgrades are available.
If it's a G4 or G5, buy a retail Mac OS X 10.5 DVD from a source such as Amazon or eBay; Apple still might have copies in stock if you phone them.
If it's an Intel Mac, buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.
Back up your data before upgrading.

I've been getting prompts whenever I look at certain websites to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. I'm skeptical as to responding to those prompts. What is the best way to update my Mac Pro with the latest version of Adobe Flash Player?

You might also want to consider uninstalling Adobe Flash... I currently don't have it installed and haven't needed to install it. Most websites are now coded in HTML 5 so that the iOS devices can actually visit them. I can still watch YouTube videos et al. About the only thing I can't do is play Flash games... but they're a resource hog anyways.
Try going without for a day or two and see just how many sites you visit no longer require it. A lot of people keep it installed out of habit, not out of necessity. If you have Flash installed, visit a site and it's out of date, it will tell you to update your Flash. What it won't do is tell you is that had Flash not been installed, it would have used the HTML 5 code instead. Think about it... if an iOS device can't run Flash at all... it can't visit this site if it were written only to use Flash. What site would eliminate such a huge portion of their market base? You'd be surprised at how many sites use HTML 5. Uninstall Flash and see for yourself.
