Running MAC OS 10.9.1 and it won't let me upgrade

I have MAC 0S 10.9.1 but I keep getting my system doesn't meet requirements to upgrade to new firefox.

Hello terpfan4life77, your user agent(in more system details) probably is corrupted (by FBSMTWB) and identify MAC 10.5 and Firefox/3.5.11
see: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-say-firefox-outdated-or-incompatible Websites say that Firefox is outdated or incompatible even though it's the latest version]
note that IF you have 10.5 you can not update to latest version : [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-no-longer-works-mac-os-x-10-5 Firefox no longer works with Mac OS X 10.5]
thank you

  • I have an iPod touch from about three years ago.  I would like to know if there is a limit on the upgrade versions because it won't let me upgrade to version 4.3  I have version 4.2.1 and it won't let me upgrade further

I have an iPod that is about three years old.  I am trying to download an appf rom the app store and it says trhat I need a version 4.3 or higher.  My iPOd has version 4.2.1 right now and iTunes tells me that my iPod is up to date.  It won't let me upgrade any higher.  Is there a limit or can I get a newer version another way?

Yes, there's a limit, and that iPod touch has reached it.

  • I have Mac 0S 10.5.8 and it won't let me download Mac OS 10.6.8, What do I do to be able to get this new update?

I downloaded the new update on my Iphone. When I plugged it into my computer it wouldn't let me sync because my computer didn't have an updated i-tunes version. When I tried to update Itunes, it said I needed Mac OS 10.6.6 or higher. Then when I tried to download that it said I needed 10.6 or higher to download that...so...what do I do...Is my computer too outdated?

10.6. is available for sale on DVD, ONLY through the online store and leftovers from other sellers (not local Apple stores).
But since the launch of 10.8 Mountain Lion, it has been "put away" and you must CALL the Apple Online Store support line and they can arrange to sell it to you.
When you get it updated to at least 10.6.6, the MacApp Store will appear. But 10.7 is also "put away" and you will need to call again to buy that, if you want it, probably by download using a special code they will sell you.

  • I'm also having a music issue.  When my phone is attached to the computer (mac running 10.6.8) it looks like my music is there but its gray and I can't play anything.  I've tried to delete it and it won't let me but it does not show up on my phone.

By the way, I have tried shutting of the display switching in the power settings.  That was basically the only real answer I found anywhere.  It didn't work.

  • How can I print to my HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless Printer from my iPhone 4S which used to work before AirPrint printers were even available? (running Mac Lion OS, all software and HP sw updates are all performed)

How can I print to my HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless Printer from my iPhone 4S which used to work (on prior iPhones) before AirPrint printers were even available? (running Mac Lion OS, all software and HP sw updates are all performed)
I don't get it, I read one post about why would we have to buy an AirPrint Printer when we have used the "print to a wifi printer" just fine in the past?  Yes I feel that's exactly what's happening to me now too. I want to print from my iPhone and iPad to my WiFi Printer which is also now connected to my Airport Express WiFi network just fine. No problems.

Very glad you added that bit of information because I see different problems similar to this.  I want to share with them what you did and hopefully you not only fixed your specific problem but you can lend some more advice to others with problems like this. Thanks!
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.
When a solution is found please mark the post that solves your issue.

Instead of getting a wireless card for the Mac Pro, you might want to consider getting an 802.11ac wireless bridge device that would enable you to connect more than one device to it by Ethernet cable and to eventually take advantage of the faster 802.11ac wireless standard.

    Thank you for your help.
The client has already made the jump to 8Gb including HBA's, switch and RAID Storage.
The other question will be if they need a seperate Mac Server to run the Meta Data or are they able to use the current Mac they are running to do this?
The Mac is a 201073 model they say with 12 Dual Core 2.66Mhz processors and 16 GB of Memory. This system is currently doing rendering. It has the XSAN Client but I understand for the solution to work they need to also run XSAN Server on a MDC.

  • Keep downloading Firefox 6.0.2 for Mac (as prompted) to my new Macbook Pro, running Lion (OS 10.7.1) and it won't open and install. WTF?

I have Firefox version 3.6.22 (Mac) & keep downloading Firefox 6.0.2 for Mac (as prompted) to my new Macbook Pro, running Lion (OS 10.7.1) and it won't open and install. WTF?

something similar has been happening to me for a a couple weeks (even before the most recent update, but now is definitely worse) on my 2010 MacBook Air. Firefox freezes upon startup, and then freezes maybe every twenty minutes or so when I'm actively using it, staying frozen for at least a minute or two. it drives me crazy.

  • HT1338 currently im running mac os x 10.5.8 is there anyway i can upgraded to to current version

currently im running mac os x 10.5.8 is there anyway i can upgraded to to current version.
i cant update my adobe because they dont support mac os x 10.5.8 version.

To upgrade from OS X 10.5.8, you must first buy Snow Leopard by calling the phone number in the Apple Online Store: 800-MY-APPLE (in the US)
Make sure your system meets Snow Leopard's requirements:
Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" System Requirements
To install Snow Leopard for the first time, you must have a Mac with:
    An Intel processor
An internal or external DVD drive, or DVD or CD Sharing
At least 1 GB of memory (RAM) (additional RAM is recommended)
A built-in display or a display connected to an Apple-supplied video card supported by your computer
At least 5 GB of disk space available, or 7 GB of disk space if you install the developer tools
After you install Snow Leopard you can decide if you want to upgrade OS X to the latest version, Mountain Lion. Mountain Lion is available in the Mac App Store, which is available to you after upgrading to Snow Leopard.
Make sure your system meets the requirements for Mountain Lion:
Mac OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" System Requirements
To install Mountain Lion, you need one of these Macs:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
                   Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (RAM)
8 GB or more of available hard disk space
If your system does not support Mountain Lion's requirements, you may be able to upgrade to Lion. To do that you must call Apple again to order a download code. Redeem the download code in the App Store to download Lion. Lion costs 99¢ more than Snow Leopard.
Make sure your system meets the requirements for Lion:
Mac OS X 10.7 "Lion" System Requirements
Mac with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon CPU
Core Duo CPUs are not sufficient for Lion
    2GB of memory (RAM)
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
To determine which Mac you have, what kind of CPU it uses, and how much memory is installed:  > About this Mac
The specified 2 GB minimum is barely adequate for either Lion or ML. They will run in 2 GB but you may not like its performance. 4 GB is a more realistic minimum.

  • I'm trying to get itunes up and running on new computer. I have lots of music I've purchased from Itunes...and they show in my account.  But only some of them have the cloud next to them.  The rest say "downloaded" and it won't let me download them again.

I believe that all audiobooks are supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time only download. This is the link for contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

    Hi Anne,
Did you do this through one of the Office app updates, or did you download it directly from the Microsoft website?
Whichever way you tried it, I would try it the opposite way this time, although simply repeating what you did before may also work.

you may have flipped the micro switch inside the audio jack.  To rectify this issue take a toothpick an gently wiggle it inside your audio jack.

    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and

    Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.
    Upgrading to Yosemite
To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

See App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
