Running netca in silene mode to set up ldap for using OID
Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this posting....
Our customer is in the process of automating the installation of their Oracle environment including the database, app server, and OID.
I'm in the process of looking into how a .rsp file would be configured to configure ldap and the OID directory server running NETCA in silent mode.
I'm a little confused about how this would be done because the only thing I've been able to see so far is adding LDAP to the NAMING_METHODS parameter in the rsp file.
Does anyone know how the other information (ie: Directory type, Directory service info, Oracle context, etc.) would be specified?

Thanks so much for the feedback. But I finally found what I was looking for in the Oracle Database Net Services reference.
The parameters for the response file are:
DIRECTORY_SERVER_TYPE=oid
DIRECTORY_SERVERS=<host:port[<ssl port>]
DEFAULT_ADMIN_CONTEXT="DN for the server"
It was right in front of me the whole time and I didn't see it.... ugh!

However, it should read:

Are you logging on as root? Are you SU'ing to Oracle or trying to run as riit?
Try logging out - all the way out. Don't stop there, you need to log ALL the way out.
And then log in as user Oracle.
Logging in as root causes all sorts of headaches. Only SU to root, and then only when you absolutely need it.
Now that you have logged out of root, and logged in (not just su'd) to oracle, what happens?? -

3. My emails appear to by syncing, but the Outlook Calendar does not sync its Pre-Cloud entries with my Iphone and IPad. Is this what is to e expected?
4. If I put a calendar entry on my PC's Outlook Calendar, it should sync with my Iphone and Ipad correct? Again, what about entries that were made in Outlook before I signed up for iCloud?

Sorry I can't bring you a solution but I am surprised your mail is working. Many of us with outlook 2010 seem to be having trouble sending. It seems apple's Pxx-smpt.mail.me.com server is rejecting the loging. I have tried it on three PC's with Win7 and Outlook 2010. It simply does not work after installing from the iCloud control panel. I have also manually configured the servers, encryption method, etc to no avail.
On the positive side, Calenda and contacts does work. First time around, the claendar duplictaed everything but I manually cleans it out. The iCloud calendar is a seperate calendar in Outlook. It seems to perform a sync with your local calendar one time. From them on, I beleive you need to use the iCloud calendar to have the same appointments show on each device. I renamed the defaut iClouds calendar to "iCloud Calendar". It's definatelly confusing and not seamless. It would be nicer to sync your OL calendar permenantly so you don;t see two or more.
Let me know your settings for iCloud email on Outlook. Try sending an email from the @me.com account.

Thank you for your reply. My problem is much simpler than you are thinking. As a teacher I prepare sheets with random number generators.
EG. 256 + 389= ______ or 467

On a PC I was able to start a page of A4 with one set and then drag and drop down and across the page.
On my Macbook I can get the numbers in but the lines do not copy. I asked at one of my One to One sessions and it had my 'trainer' stumped. He said he would make enquiries but so far no news. I am using Numbers.
I hope I have explained my 'problem' satisfactorily. -
Reporting Service Integration mode and Key not valid for use in specified state
I had to uninstall SharePoint Foundation 2013 and reinstall it.
What I have done:
I uninstalled SharePoint and after that I removed all databases.
I reinstalled SharePoint Foundation 2013 and it completed without errors.
Everything else is working, except SSRS in Sharepoint Integrated Mode.
If I check Central Administration - Manage services on server, I can found out that SQL Server Reporting Service Service is
"Started". But if I try to create new service application (SQL Server Reporting Services Service Application), it gives me an error message:
"Key not valid for use in specified state. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8009000B)"
I uninstalled SSRS in Sharepoint Integrated Mode and I reinstalled it but problems exists.
It seems that "Encryption Keys" cause this problem.

I tried to Re-create Encryption Keys and Delete keys, but its not working either. It gives me only error message that:
"Unable to locate the Reporting Server Windows service for instance MSSQLSERVER."
I don't have any reporting server databases, because I removed all
databases when I uninstalled SharePoint. Also I don't have Encryption
Keys backups.

From the Reporting Server Configuration Manager you have to restore the encryption key.
Please try to delete databases(reportserver & reportservertempdb) and delete the reportserver and reports site on IIS. Then you have to start over the configuration again.
If the issue still exists, Please check ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log locates in
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS"

quenstion is:
-Is there a way to look into the property using EBCC
- Apart from deploying,configuring the ldapprofile.jar,do I have to do any additional
steps in order to make my portal(say,stockportal) authenticate users from LDAP?
-If a create my own portal,should I create a similar "ldap" property set?If so,how.

Previous versions would allow me to set storage time up to 1 year, I think. Now I can't find the path to set this time. I would like to set it to as much as possible.
Firefox 4+ versions do not have a time limit for the history.<br />
Firefox determines automatically how many pages can be kept without affecting the performance.<br />
You can see the current value via the read-only pref places.history.expiration.transient_max_pages on the about:config page.<br />
You can reset no longer used browser.history_expire_days* prefs from older Firefox versions, if you still have them, to remove them on the next start.

Setting my NAT for use with XBOX 360
I am having an issue with playing with certain friends on xbox live where their NAT is usually Moderate. Mine seems to fluctuate randomly between Open and Moderate and our connections always seem much better when they are both Moderate (they are the limiting factor, I think it's their ISP). I would like to know how to set the Time capsule so I can set my NAT to Moderate when I play with these folks and back to open other times. I know how to go into the 360 network settings and then I go into manual network setup, but I don't know the numbers to type in, and I also don't know how to connect to the time capsule's setting page. Is that on the web or is that a preference page on the mac somewhere. I haven't been able to find anything online on how to set the NAT to moderate, as I understand OPEN is generally better in most circumstances, any help would be much appreciated.
The TC can be used in bridge mode plugged into the router.
Yes, I should have been more clear. When you turn NAT "off", the TC will be in Bridge Mode. But, only one device will be able to connect to the Internet in this setting. If that device is the Xbox, fine.....but other users might not be pleased about this if they want to connect to the Internet as well.
I think LaPastenagure nailed it when he noted that Apple products do not appear on the list of Xbox compatible devices.

Having problems with the scan to email. don't know if this is the problem. I keep getting the a message about the IP address and not connect to the server, sometimes it work sometimes it do not. I want to set up the LDAP, but I do not know the information to put in. I click on the button to find settings I get a error.

I don't know about recovering your password for the Embedded Web Server, but you can restore the network defaults on the printer to reset the password. Resetting the network defaults of course means you will need to reconfigure the wireless settings, but that is simply enough.
To restore network defaults, touch the right side of the touch scree and drag your finger to the left to scroll over to the second page of the home menu, then select Setup. In the Setup menu, choose The Network Setup, and navigate to Restore Network Defaults.

I want to use my new iPad for personal and business. For my business I want to hand to a customer as a self-driven presentation on my business created In Keynote or some similar program. But I'd like to lock all personal content so the customer can only explore my business content and not access personal contacts, music, etc. Can this be done? Recommendations on apps and set-up are appreciated.
Can't be done. All the customer has to do is press the home button and they're able to access all your apps.
You either need different iPads for different purposes, or mount it in a display cabinet that blocks the home button. -

At this stage, the global variables cannot be accessed with the configuration above. The only was I can get this to work is to cut and paste the global vairables into each form1.#subform[0] item, which of course defeats the purpose of global variables! I plan to have many more items so would not want to duplicate the global variables for all of them!
Can somebody show me how to do this?

Yes, I saw that option (I should have mentioned I already knew about it), but was wondering if there is a way I can do this via code.
There are two reason I want to be able to do it via code (only one of which may be valid):
1) I can automatically generate my pricing code form another inhouse app.
2) I am hoping that later on once I get this working I will be able take it a step further and get the data directly from a MySQL database!
