Running Non-Mac Programs (7.1 Headset)?

Hi,
So I bought a headset and it works fine with my Mac but I need to get Logitech's software for the Headset to be true 7.1 surround sound (http://www.logitech.com/en-nz/support/g430-7-1-surround-sound-gaming-headset?cri d=411) under "Downloads" however there isn't any software that will work with Mac, they're all for Windows. So is there a way I can get this working for mac? Or in other words run this program on a Mac? I've tried some programs that will run Windows apps on Mac but it didn't work.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
PS, I am using the latest iMac model, 27" and latest OS.

Have you considered Parallels?
Lets you run a virtualized PC on your MAC.  So you would be able to run the PC software for the headphones.  Just not sure if it would work cross-platform

  • Run non-Java program inside a JFrame

A quick question, would it be possible to run a non-java application inside a JFrame? By this, I mean restrict the program to be running only inside that frame.

You could do some of what you need using the JAWT api:

  • Java application running non-Java programs

    Greetings,
I'd like to have an application start up another non-Java application. How do I do this? For example, how would I execute the following commands from a java application?
    Unix: "ls > /tmp/ls.dat"
    NT: "dir > c:\temp\dir.dat"
    TIA,

You can use Runtime.exec. You'll have to do the redirection manually, by getting the Process from the exec method, opening the output stream, and writing the results to the file you want to redirect the output to. See the many posts on Runtime.exec in this and other forums.

so i downloaded itunessetup but when i open it it asks what program to run it with. but none of the programs listed would be a program to run a .exe program? what should i do?

Maybe it didn't get the EXE extension.  If it does not have the extension, put one on it and see if that helps.
If it has a DMG extension, it is the Mac version of the software.

  • Can you run a pc program on a mac?

Can I run a PC program on the a new mac?

    Yes. But.
You will need some kind of software environment such as Boot Camp (free from Apple) or Parallels.  Then you will need to buy and install Windoze.

  • Running The Mac Mini Non-stop

Does anyone have experience or an opinion on running the Mac Mini continuously non-stop for long periods of time (e.g. months)? Let's assume that sleep mode is disabled.
How will this affect the reliability of the machine?
I do this to my PC and they seem fine. Just wondering if the Mac Mini will do okay.
Mac Mini Intel Core Duo 1.66GHz; 2 GB RAM; OS X 10.4.6

    A few quick items:
    1) I agree with all who posted. You should have no problem leaving the Mini on indefinitely.
    2) Go to your System Preferences and select the Energy Saving Option (It looks like a light bulb). Check off to turn the Hard Drive off when possible, Select Sleep, Never and set your monitor to power down when you want it to.
    3) If you have a broadband internet connection where it is always on, you want to make sure your firewall is up. Go to System Preferences, select Sharing and then select Firewall. Turn it on for your protection. You probably don't need it if you have a router, but just in case.
    Good luck!

  • I tried to update the latest software update for my MacBook pro (which was on 10/12) and after it started to update it restarted like normal but when it started back up it was running painfully slow and none oft programs will open. They all quit unexpectal

I tried to update the latest software update for my MacBook pro (which was on 10/12) and after it started to update it restarted like normal but when it started back up it was running painfully slow and none oft programs will open. They all quit unexpectedly. iTunes microsoft word all of them quit unexpectedly. Help!

Exact same problem with my 2010 MBP 2.4ghz 4gb ram 10.6.8. iTunes said update was needed, Software Update ran with various updates including a security update, truthfully didn't pay much attention, I always install the Apple updates. After the restart it took 3-4 times longer than normal to get to the login screen, same to get to the desktop but I'm familiar with that occurring on update restarts. Unfortunately it got worse from there. Performed a full shutdown and startup. Same long boot.  After the desktop finally loads every mouse button press received a 2 minute beachball. I use menu-meters and both processors are under 10%. Waited a few minutes for disk utilities to launch, repair permissions estimates 3 hours for a typical <10 minute process. Activity monitor shows nothing over 10% CPU most of the time however ReportCrash pops to the top often. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW zero problems until this update.

  • Run Windows only program on Mac for without buying windows?

I need to run a windows compatable only program on my mac. I do not own any version of Windows or any virtualPC/Parallels type software.
I don't want to buy windows or anything for that matter.
    What do I do?
Also, I'm not super smart on computers, so please reccomend something that someone only slightly smarter than the average layman can do.
    Thank-you

There may be a Mac equivalent that you don't know about. What program is it that you want to run? Someone here might know of a Mac program that you can use instead.

  • Running a non mandatory program from remote using powershell without a logged in user

    Hi all,
is there a way to execute a non mandatory program (a task sequence in my case) from remote using powershell
without a logged in user on the target system?
    I have the following code:
    $ProgramObject = Get-WmiObject -Class CCM_Program -Namespace "root\ccm\clientsdk" -ComputerName $ComputerItem | Where-Object { $_.Name -match "$ProgramName" }
    Invoke-WmiMethod -class CCM_ProgramsManager -Namespace "root\ccm\clientsdk" -Name ExecutePrograms -argumentlist $ProgramObject -ComputerName $ComputerItem | Out-Null
Works like charm, but only with a user logged in on the target system what is not a good solution for me.
I saw some other ways on the internet but these only work when the program is mandatory.
Is there a way to archive what I need ?
    thanks

    Hi,
If you deploy the program as a available deployment, there need a user to run the program. Otherwise, the program will never run. This is contradicted with your requirement(run the program at log off).
    So I concur with Peter.
    Best Regards,

  • Anybody know of a swimming pool design program that runs on Mac operating system?

Anyone know of a swimming pool design software that runs on Mac?

The problem was that I kept getting the black screen of death, once while using Photoshop, the next 3 or 4 times on start-up, I couldn't keep the computer running. Starting it up with the install disk worked, and it seems to be more stable now, however, I haven't really done much in Photoshop since.
I know that Photoshop, especially when I use the Transform tool, will crash a lot, and often enough take the whole system down with it. But it usually works again on restart.
The test comes when I have another batch of photos to process. Unfortunately, business is a bit slow right now, so I don't have anything coming up soon.
Does Onyx do about the same job as Disk Utility? Is it any better? Or just have different options? I did download that one too, and the disk appears to be fine now.
