  • WebLogic as Windows 2000 service over s shared file system

I am trying to install weblogic as a Windows 2000 service over a
shared file system with no sucess
(the shared fie system is provided by windows 2000 cluster services).
I am using the srvany utility to have the script that launches
weblogic be run as a service (I need this
because I must launch 2 instances of weblogic in the same machine
as services, i cannot do this
with the bea service tools, having different configurations for
    the classpath, or can I?)
The service works if weblogic is not installed in a shared file
    system.
On the shared file system, it fails (The service fails, is unabble
to start). I also made a script on the local file
system, that calls the weblogic script on the shared file system,
but weblogic fails to start (with no
message) when loading from the weblogic.classpath
    thanks for your attenction,

I have also tried running the service with the bea tools, with no
    sucess when running in
    the shared file system.
When i start the service, it seems to start ok, then stops. with
    no message.
Nothing is written to the log, any ideas?

  • How to start a java application as windows 2000 service?

    Hi all,
I'm trying to start / stop a java application as a windows 2000 service. But nothing appens (I can see the screen that rapidly display the java help prompt and then disappear)
    I've a working directory i.e C:\MyDir and it contains instsrv.exe, srvany.exe and my application jar MyApp.jar
    I'm using instsrv.exe to register a java application as a service ( C:\MyDir\instsrv MyApp C:\MyDir\srvany.exe )
I've added a key in registry by running regedit
The key is under the tree HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MyApp
    the key value is Parameters
in the key I've added a string value "Application" with the value "C:\j2sdk1.4.2_01\bin\java.exe"
and a string value "AppParameters" with the value "-classpath C:\MyDir\MyApp.jar main" where main is the name of the main class application.
This seems to run correctly with Windows NT 4.0
But doesn't work with Windows 2000.
    Can anyone help me?? pls.
    Thanks.

  • NodeManager 8.1 Windows 2000 Service

I have a couple of problems running nodemanager on Windows 2000
    1) The nodemanager service is set start automatically, but it doesn't and
there's no entry in the system event log, If I start it manually, it will
    start the other servers normally.
    2) nodemanager will not respond if there is no user logged on the windows
2000 - also the user that is logged on MUST be the user who installed and
    configured the software.
Has anyone else experienced 8.1 nodemanager problems?

    Hi Alex_Long,
When did the issue start to occur ?Have you made any modifications to the machines before this issue ?
We can try to reinstall the drivers from the Device Manager to have a check .
It is recommended to download the driver for the devices from the manufacturer website .
We also can run the built-in tool to have  a diagnostic .
     Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\All Categories\Harware and Devices,Network Adapter
" error 1062 "means services not start .I suspect there is a third party conflict here.To verify whether the issue is caused by a third party software ,we can perform a clean boot to have a troubleshoot :
How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Please run "sfc /scannow" to check the health of the system files ,too.

Zen 3.2 snap shot to force out windows 2000 service packs and critical
    patches
has anyone used MSI to do the installations of services packs.

All Hotfixes and SPs have switches on the EXEs to allow for silent
    installs.
This is the recommended method of deploying these.

  • MXI-3 blue screen when updating to windows 2000 service pack 3 or 4

I have na host computer with windows 2000, and a PXI chassis connected through MXI-3 (cooper wires). I have a 6025E, a 5102, a 5112, a pickering DMM, and two pickering switch-cards in it. Updating windows is not possible. It didn't work months ago when windows 2000 service pack came out and it doesn't work now with windows 2000 service pack 4 -Blue screeen of death is the verdict!
Any ideas about the posible problem and a cure?
    Scientia est potentia!

    Hi Magvar,
The first thing we need to determine is the cause of the problem. Right now, I see two possible causes. First, the problem could be with the OS on your computer. Second, the problem could be with the MXI-3 interface. In order to determine which is causing the blue screen, I recommend removing the PCI-MXI-3 board from the computer before you install the service pack. If the service pack will successfully install, then we know the problem was with the MXI-3 board. You can then try to reinstall the board. If the installation is not successful, then we know the problem is not connected with the MXI-3 system. In that case, you may need to contact Microsoft for further assistance.

  • Cannot Shutdown OC4J on Windows 2000 Pro

I have just upgraded my networks OS from Windows NT4 to Windows 2000 Pro.
We are using 9iDS R2 and since the upgrade the Shortcuts to Shutdown OC4J have stopped working. Is this a common side effect of the OS upgrade? What is the solution?
    Thanks

Put the 'pause' command at the end of stopinst.bat, so you can at least see the error message before the command window closes.
If it is 'invalid password', than run originst.bat before starting OC4J again.

  • Oracle 8i3 and Windows 2000 Service Pack 2

If this is not the right forum, please direct me to another one.
Seems that 8.1.7 is not compatible with Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 2. The database worked just fine until I installed the SP2. After that I cannot connect to it. When I run sqlplus to connect I get this error:

I don't know what to do, and I cannot find any more informaiton about SP2 and Oracle. Please share if you have any.

Sorry, but my english is terrible.
Well, I has this problem. I installed Windows Service Pack 2 and
received this message when I tryed to connect Oracle by SQL

  • GPIB-ENET driver 1.10 no longer works under Windows 2000 service pack 2

I have used my GPIB-ENET adapters with Windows 2000. However, since I installed service pack 2, the GPIB driver 1.10 no longer works. It seems to install correctly and puts the GPIB icon in the Control Panel. After a reboot, however, the icon is gone from the control panel ! It is even gone from the install/remove programs box. I have tried this on two PC's with the same result. This is really bad as my GPIB-ENET boxes are now useless. Can you help with this?

Thanks for the advice, but the 1.20 drivers cannot be downloaded. They must be purchased for $80 US. I have already paid many thousands of dollars for three GPIB-ENET adapters plus LabVIEW. This is really shabby. I know of no other company that charges for driver updates once you have bought the hardware. I should have bought the Tektronix adapters instead.

  • Windows 2000 + service logon as ... + https

We are trying to enable secure access on sun web server. We can get the certificates in and the security on the socket running just fine when the service is configured to log on as a local system account. But when we try to change the service to logon as a "this account", sun web server just hangs, and never starts back up? If we turn off the security on all sockets and use that same "logon as this account" setting, the server starts up fine. Are we missing something here?

    Hello,
Iws requires the "Interact with Desktop" privilege when running in SSL to give the password to the instance.
Or you need to use the password.conf file.

  • Java environment on Windows 2000

I've been trying to get Java to run properly on Windows 2000 service pack 4 and I've been having problems. I used to have window ME and it worked fine. The j2sdk1.4.2 and j2sdk1.4.1 files won't install properly.
I get this message from InstallShield Wizard:
Assertion failed: offset < fFileSize, file
    ../../..src/share/native/sun/awt/font/fontmanager/fontobjects/fontObject.cpp,line 418
    abnormal program termination
When I got j2sdk1.4.2_01 to install I couldn't use javac.exe properly. I set the path in my environment values and it appears in the command line if I type path but Textpad 4.6 says that it can't find javac.exe in my windows/system32 folder.
If anyone knows how to resolve this problem I'd greatly appreciate it if you could tell me.
    Thanks.

You cannot compile the java servlets with J2SE only.
You need to download and install the "J2EE" in order to compile the Servlets.

  • VM 1.4.2 running on Windows 2000

    Hi,
I'm running a java program on a Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4) machine using the JRE 1.4.2_06.
After a while the app. stops running and displays the message :
"javaw.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program.
An error log has been generated."
I don't have this problem on other systems like Windows 2000 (Service Pack 3), Windows XP (Service Pack 1).
    Any idea?
    Thanx,
    Piet

Will you please generate "Dr Watson dump" of the JVM process?
To make drwtsn32 as your default debugger, follow these steps"
    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. Type drwtsn32 -i, and then click OK.
To configure Dr. Watson, to produce dump file:
    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. Type drwtsn32, and then click OK.
    3. Please make sure that "Create Crash Dump File" option is checked. When crash occurs, a dump file (.dmp extension) will be produced in the file configured with the option "Crash Dump" (there is browse button near that option to specify the directory where you want the dump file to be created).
Please send us the Dr Watson dump file for further debugging.

  • I uninstalled LabVIEW 6.1 from a Windows 2000 computer and now when I run DOS programs I get a pop-up error, "gpib-vdd.dll, An installable Virtual Device Driver failed Dll initialization". How do I correct this?

Occurs when running Edit.com for example. Error has choice to Close application or Ignore. If Ignore is chosen, application appears to run normally. Running repair of Windows 2000 does not correct the problem.

I'm glad you found it. Don't worry about the post. It's always good to check the KBs first, but we can't help it if we miss one sometime! The forum is definitely helpful though so don't feel hesitant to use it in the future. Good luck with the programming!

  • Installation problem JDK 1.5 on Windows 2000 server

I am trying to install the new J2SE Development Kit 5.0 for Windows 32 bit on a windows server 2000 computer with sp4. When I attempt to execute the file
    I get the following result
    # An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
    # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x036eb514, pid=1872, tid=1592

    # Problematic frame:
    # C [awt.dll+0xb514]
I see that the log file refers to Hot spot client 1.4.2 - I'll post the rest of log if necessary but thought I would try asking in case the solution is clear without the full log.
I understand JDK 5.0 can be installed on windows 2000 server with service pack 3 or 4. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    I've checked all these possibilities:
    (1) DLL's associated with JAVA - none other than 1.5
    (2) Path makes no reference to 1.4 anywhere
    (3) No othe java programs are listed in add/remove programs
    (4) no oracle product is installed
    (5) windows 2000 registry does not contain anything obviously associated with 1.4.2
IS any Java product included automatically with Windows 2000 Service pack 4?

  • JRE 1.4.2 on Windows 2000

    Hi,
I'm running a java program on a Windows 2000 (Service Pack 4) machine using the JRE 1.4.2_06.
    Any idea?
    Thanx,
    Piet

I have heard that it is sometimes necessary to modify the plugin settings in the control panel in order to get the plugin to work with IE.
In the Control Panel, look for the Java Plugin icon. Double click. In the Advanced tab, you may need to select your Java Runtime Environment. Select JRE 1.4.2 rather than Use Java Plugin Default. I have heard that sometimes during installation that change does not take place. Note that in the first tab of the Plugin Settings you are able to select "Show Console" and that will allow you to see any error messages that may appear.
