Yes, but it completely depends on HOW you use it.
I suggest you read the Enterprise Deployment Guide on best practices of deploying it in production environments with load balancers and so on.

You would need a wireless internet connection on your PDA and have SyncML access to your calendar server enabled. Also you want to install the synthesis client on the PDA.

Move database from server running Oracle 11G to server running Oracle 12c

I'm trying to find out the easiest way to migrate a database from a server running Oracle 11G to a server running Oracle 12c. I have tried using RMAN's duplicate database command but have run into far too many issues when trying to setup both servers before running the duplicate command. If someone could provide some clear guidance on configuring both servers for the RMAN Duplicate command then that would be great. The other thing I have tried is performing a cold backup of all the files for the database (control files, data files, etc.). Copying them to the new server and then recreating the control file to include the correct location and names for the datafiles and redologs. After recreating the control file the database will not start up. I'm suspecting this is due to the version differences. If you can provide me clear (ie. migration for dummies) instruction for getting either of these methods to work it would be greatly appreciated. I'm also open to any other method you can think of to achieve what I'm trying to accomplish. Thanks, Paul Noyes

i am very new to servlet technology, i create the servlet java file and complied it and using j2ee application server (1.4) i deploy it and put the war file at autodeploy file but i cant run it ,how i can use j2ee server for running the servlet, and i also used apache-tomcat-5.5.12 but i cant see any class folder at ROOT/webinf please help me

I m not familiar with the j2ee server...
But a bit with Tomcat...
The tomcat 5.5.X is bit hard to configure..
I hope you have successfully configured the Tomcat in your PC..
in that you have to create a directory in
<your tomcat base directory>/webapps/<yourdirectory>
in that <yourdirectory>/, you have to create a new folder WEB-INF into which your class file has to go..
your web.xml file should be placed in <yourdirectory>/
Doing this is a bit hard to understand..
I recommend you to use the latest version of NetBeans IDE ..
it will come with a bundeled Tomcat...you can simply run your servlet files and deploy them very easily with it..

How to run Oracle applications from Oracle Test Manager(OTM)

Hi All,
I have done a recording in Oracle Applications and I have sucessfully imported into OTM.
Whenever I run that script from OTM, it is showing some error called JIT Debugger error.
After that it is going to next screen, but after that , it is skipping the rest of the steps.
It is generating Reports as Skipped.
Please help me out.

I hope I'm wrong , I think XP is not supported for AS.
The second thing is U have not enough memory to run AS, that why U will always get problem with Java.
The third thing is about your Env. I mis jre path
ex. at your user profile & system profile just put for example
ORACLE_HOMe just give your oracle software home
by PATH U need to say for example c:\oracle_HOME/jre/1.4.2/bin

database. Oracle not found; nested exception is:That is the crux of your problem. The Server is unable to locate the database. Or to be more technical precise, it cant connect to it. This may be a configuration issue or a network issue. you will have to get in touch with your Network Administrator or DBA. Find out if the JDBC url is correct. Find out if the classes is there in the classpath, etc.

First of all if the port is installed with nr. 7777. then the listen process will be on port 7778
the second thing is just try to do the following steps

Displays blank page when tried to access ORACLE Application Server Control

Hi,
I have successfully installed the Oracle SOA Suite using advance installation.
But when tried to open ORACLE APPLICATION SERVER CONTROL by following the below path.
start-> programs-> oracle-soa->ORACLE APPLICATION SERVER CONTROL, It displays a blank IE page.
But when tried to open BPEL control or WSM control or ESB control, it takes me to the login page.
Note: Started the SOA suite and the status of ASG component in the Start SOA page says Down.Does this affect in anyways?

I started reinstalling SOA suite and while installation, I encounter below warning.
"A DHCP configuration was detected on this host" The installer also detected that the localhost name and network hostname differ. please resolve the networking issues by reffering the "Installing on DHCP computers" section in the installation guide."
Note: Doing installation in the server.
Wondering this could be the cause for displaying blank Application Server Control page.
And here is, what it says in the installation guide.
Note this limitation when running Oracle Application Server on DHCP computers: Oracle Application Server instances on DHCP computers cannot communicate with other instances running on other computers. For example, you cannot have OracleAS Infrastructure on one computer and a middle tier on another computer if any one of those computers uses DHCP. All the instances that need to communicate with each other need to run on the same computer. There are no limitations on clients: clients from other computers can access the instances running on the DHCP computer, as long as the client computer can resolve the DHCP computer on the network.
The solution for this is installing loopback adapter. But the catch is, I have few webmethods running on the server. Wondering about the effects of Loop back adadpter on webmethods. Please someone throw some light.

How to install Oracle Policy Automation in Oracle Application Server?

We are planning to use OPA with Oracle Ebusiness Suite Release 12.1. We are running Oracle Application Server 11g. We want to deploy the Oracle Policy Automation components in same application server as Oracle Ebusiness Suite.
(a) How to install Oracle Determinations Engine, Oracle Web Determinations and Oracle Determinations Server on Oracle Application Server? The installation document for OPA doesnt have steps for Oracle Application Server.
(b) Which one is better, to deploy OPA in separate server or in same server as Oracle Ebusiness Suite?
(c) How to decide whether to use Java API's using Determination Engine or web services using Determination Server or UI of Web Determinations for our project? Or what factors should we consider?

(a) You should install the war files for Oracle Determination Server and Oracle Web Determinations as per normal war deployment - there's no special steps required, which is why it is not listed explicitly. There's no reason to deploy Oracle Determinations Engine itself to a web application server.
(b) "Better" tends to be more a subjective viewpoint, but if you already deploy all your web services on the same server as Oracle E-Business Suite then you should go the same for OPA. Same story for separate server deployment.
(c) Can't answer that without knowing why you are using OPA! If you are looking to integrate with Oracle E-Business Suite then Oracle Determinations Server would be the sensible choice. Web Determinations is most useful if you want a sensible way to collect or review the relevant assessment data for determinations, as well as for "self service" scenarios. Determinations Engine should be used if you have a completely bespoke integration scenario that can't make use of web services or web applications - but I can't think of a scenario where this would make sense if you are using Oracle E-Business Suite.
Of course, these are just my views - others may feel more strongly one way or the other!

No it does not include XML gateway. It includes XDK and Workflow among others, but no XML gateway.
