Running out of iCloud space even though I have iTunes Match

Hi all,
I've just received an email telling me that I am about to run out of my 5GB of iCloud space, but I already pay my annual fee for iTunes Match. Doesn't that mean that I should have much more iCloud space, given that it stores all my music (much more than 5GB)?

iTunes match has nothing to do with the storage space available for icloud. Different product; Serves a different purpose. More than likely your backups and data storage (other than Match) are filling it up.
To check what is being used, open the Settings App > iCloud > Storage and Back up > Manage Storage > [your device].

This usually means the original music file has been been deleted from the HDD. If you feel it has not then click "locate" and navigate to where the song file is on the HDD and choose it. You can use Spotlight to locate it if necessary.

I have made a couple both Smart and regular playlists on iTunes. Then I clicked Store > Update iTunes Match. It updated and yet the playlists are not on my phone... I shouldn't have to sync my phone should I?

A solution I've mentioned in other threads for iTunes Match not syncing playlists to iPhone is to log out of your iTunes Account (Apple ID) in the iTunes & App Store page of Settings, turn phone off, then on, then log in again. This has solved problems for a number of people. Cheers.

Hi, do you know if this works if I then want to move my library to a new computer as that is my main intention bacause my old computer hasn't got enough space for me to add new albums so I want to ditch the computer (its got to be about 100 years old and doesn't seem to cope well with modern technology!!) and start using my laptop for my iTunes. I am at the point now where i'm ready to throw both my computer and iPod out the window!!!! I might point out as well that in trying to clear space on my computer I accidently deleted the Bonjour programme which is aparently needed to use the home share option, oops!!!!

External hard drive has no available space even though i have deleted nearly everything on there

I have an external hard drive for backups and it has no available space even though i have deleted nearly everything on there. Where is the space?

Drive Preparation
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.

Why cant I transfer music to my iphone even if I have itunes match

I have Itunes, Iphone 4S and Ipad.
I also have Itunes Match which is activated on my iDevices.
I want to create a playlist on itunes and transfer it to my Iphone. I get an error message saying that I need to download the tracks on my Iphone from Icloud first even if its also on my computer. And even so, how am I suppose to be able to manage my music if I cannot do it from itunes anymore?

Running out of icloud space

So, have 4.6 GB from my iphone and a little over 300 mb on my ipad backups. Says I can't backup my ipad now due to lack of space. Don't want to buy more icloud. Synced photos to mac and then deleted from camera roll. Then did a forced backup from the iphone hoping the total available would've increased when in fact if decreased about 10 mb. I need to be able to backup my ipad, but can't lose my iphone photos. If I delete/remove the icloud account from my ipad will my iphone stay the same? Is there another easier way other than buying more icloud space to accomplish this?

Did you go to:
Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, click on a selected device, scroll to the bottom, then click on Delete Backup?
It will then come up with a question - do you want to turn off backup and delete all backup data for this (device name) from iCloud? Click Turn off and Delete, then go back to the previous menu and turn iCloud Backup back to ON. Then click Back up Now.
You should be all set at that point.

Freeing up space now that i have itunes match...

Can I delete all the music off of my iphone to free up space now that i've got all my music on the cloud with itunes match? Even the stuff I downloaded from itunes with my phone? I'm just paranoid about clicking delete and loosing anything. Thanks!

Make and keep a backup of your iTunes library, and only stream from the cloud.

Why are my non-iTunes purchased songs in my iCloud? I don't have iTunes Match.

I have never used or purchased iTunes Match. How did my music library wind up in my iCloud? I can see them there as being in the iCloud on my iPhone.

Not sure why this is happening and it is a pain. Once the Purchased list sorted by 'date added' go to the left most column and select the top - in my Purchased list the new items go to the bottom and I drag them back up to the top position.

I cant find photos that I took in 2013 in ICloud but they were there before. I reset my ipad have I lost them forever?

Has the drive been formatted for use with a Mac? If not, there is a size limitation or possibly the inability to copy to it. If it needs reformatting any data currently on it will be erased, so back it up if necessary.

Running out of disk space error even tho I have 200GB free!!

Dear users,
I have a huge problem. I have dowloaded an application from the AppStore named "Virtual City" and once I try to play the game it crashes saying "Running out of disk space" even tho I have more than 200GB free on my hard disk.
I am using a MacBook Pro Mid April 2010 with Lion latest version.
What could be the problem??

Did you try to reset your phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?
Do you have an "other" section on your phone, bigger than 1GB? If yes, try to restore the phone to bring it back to normal size, it might contain corrupt data from an unsuccessful sync.

HT4436 How do I know what is saved in iCloud? My settings always says Sam amount available even though I have added over 1000 pictures.

HOw do I know what is saved on my iCloud? In my settings it says I have the same amount of available space even though I have added over 2000 pictures through photo stream. & over 2000 in my photo library. I pay $100.00 a Year for iCloud &for more MB of space, I want to know I am backed up in iCloud??

Photo Stream does not count against your storage, and your photos of your camera roll is included in your backups.

Ran out of iCloud space

My son has run out of iCloud space. I checked his phone: Settings > iCloud > Manage Storage.
The top three were:
Camera roll: 261 MB
Social Cam: 196 MB
Instagram: 7 MB
How come his storage is full?

iCloud can only store a certain amount of info/data. On my iPhone 4s (It might be different on other devises) 5 gb are free and you have to buy more if it is full. If you want to buy more iCloud space go into settings then iCloud then Acount, then click on the big grey box with the amount you have free and select a larger plan.
