running parallels with windows xp and OS X Lion. Trying to upgrade my Quickbooks on the windows side to the new 2013 version. The windows side does not even recognize the disc. What am I doing wrong?
S that QB edition is only for windows 8. It won't run on any earlier version of windows.
Looking at the QB 2013 system requirement it runs on XP.

So the version of windows is not your problem. Your problem is the virtual machine is not se to use the mac dvd drive. Have you looking into the machine settings. Not windows settings, the virtual machine settings. Make sure it is set to connect the mac dvd drive to the virtual machine.
A good place to start would be the parallels help system. Not the windows help system.

Whenever I update from Windows 7 get error 1602, iPod shows USB connection to iTunes, but iTunes will not recognize the device. None of the Apple documentation helps. The Apple Mobile Device driver is loaded and operating. The anti-virus software and firewall are not at fault (were uninstalled, and made no difference). The iTunes on my older machine running Vista does recognize the inoperative iPod (iTunes has detetced an iPod in recovery mode) and allows me to restore the device. Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for error 1604.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

I just purchase an iMac and an HP LaserJet M1217nfw printer. I could not install with the installation disk that was furnished by HP. What Mac operating system are you running on your iMac?
Are you certain they're compatible?
Have you checked with HP to see if there's a newer driver?

In addition, I haven't loaded on any software with my last 3 printers. They just work without them, IMHO.

I have an airport extreem network that works with my two MacBooks and a iMAC. I am having no luck in getting a PC (IBM ThinkPad0 that has the PC airport software to be recognized by the network. Any suggestions?
When you introduced the AirPort Extreme, you had a condition where you have two routers in series. The simpliest solution is to reconfigure the downstream router (in this case the Extreme) as a bridge. This will allow the upstream router to provide the required NAT & DHCP services to all network clients regardless of which router they are connected to.
To reconfigure the Extreme as a bridge, you will use the AirPort Utility. (Note: I will provide the steps for using AirPort Utility v5.x)
AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort > Manual Setup

I have a Sony radio in my car. With IOS 4 on my IPhone I could use the docking plug to the usb input on the radio and stream ESPN radio or pandora to the radio. After upgrading to IOS 5 on the phone the Sony radio will not recognize the phone . Any thoughts.

Since upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 both Internet Explorer and Firefox will not recognize the numbers keys of my keyboard. I get numbers in Word and every other situation, just not in the internet programs. I have tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling with no results.
If there are problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.

I just downloaded iTunes 9 and i do not want to upgrade any further, so when i plug in my iPhone iPhoto recognizes it as a iPhone/camera but iTunes does not recognize it. any help would be appreciated.

I have quicken 2000 for mac on an old mac and wish to upgrade to a new laptop running snow leopard. Quicken 2006 on my new laptop runs, but will not recognize the old data qif files. What version of quicken for mac will recognize files from 2000? Or, is there a special procedure I should be following?

Also, once you successfully install, please backup the install file to a separate HD and/or CD. I agree that your comment is not clear. You say you installed it, but it is simply in the download folder. Did you run the install file that you downloaded? The download does not install the program, but the install is an extra step.

Anyone having issues syncing iPhone 3GS with Microsoft Outlook 2007? iTunes says it is syncing but it will not update calendar or contacts. It just stopped working a few weeks ago.
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only person struggling with exact issue. I've rebooted, upgraded, re-installed, pulled all my hair out as nothing works.
The biggest dissapointment with this thread is that nobody seems to have responded with a solution.
And yes I've managed to pull together enough intellegence to tick the box "sync to outlook" in iTunes - still nothing man.
Definately does not sync from phone to PC and is very hit and miss on PC to Phone. In other words now running 2 seperate calendars - Not helpful Jan. -
I am trying to hook my MacBook Pro to a Sony Bravia TV via DVI to HDMI cable and the TV will not recognize the signal. I have used the same setup with three other TV's, each a different brand with no problem. Any ideas?

On your computer, if you open the Displays preferences and do not see an Arrangement tab (or there is an Arrangement tab that shows only a single monitor) then there is something physically wrong with your connection. Try clicking Detect Displays just to see if the computer can now sense the presence of the connection. Check your connections.
If you do have an Arrangement tab, and it shows two screens, then click Gather Windows to bring the TV's Displays preferences on to your main screen if the TV is not yet showing an image. Set the proper resolution (probably 720p, 1080i, or 1080p). Set the refresh rate (probably 60Hz) if that preference is shown. You should see a picture at this point. I recommend turning off mirrored displays if it is enabled.
