Running PS CS4 on Windows7 (64-bit) and constantly getting "program error" messages

I don't stop getting "program error" messages and I cannot open camera raw files despite having subsequently downloaded and installed the new ACR plug in.  Also, program errors often keep me from saving work.  Any known issues that might speed up solving this?

Are there crash reports for these program error messages if so what is the failing module???

I just downloaded Itunes 11.1.4 (64-bit) update and am running Windows 7.  Itunes will not run after installing this update and I receive an error message R6034 on Loading Microsoft C Runtime Library incorrectly.  Also Error message 1114 the Itunes Installer was installed incorrectly.  Is there an new update for this problem? Is anyone else having this problem?  Please help.  Thanks.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • CC 2014 2.2 on Mac unstable and constantly giving program error message

This is the least stable version of PS I've ever used on a Mac. It feels like Painter ten years ago.
With files over a certain size - it seems like over a medium numbers of layers - I constantly get the stupid error where it can't save the file "because of a program error" and the
only way to save the file is to hide all the layers, and then save. If you then show the layers and keep working, it might work, but saving won't. So you need to restart. But the file
is above the imaginary size, so the problem will eventually come back. I can't see any way this isn't a memory leak of some kind.
I don't know about anyone else here, but like a lot of users, I have a large number of layers, some of which will be switched on at any one time. Having to do this causes chaos
    to my workflow.
I saw a post in another thread saying to look at the error log and paste it, so if it helps, here you go:

Really? It just uses the creative cloud installer. This has been happening since 2.1, and I've done nothing manual.
Are you talking about the Photoshop install? Nothing else is unstable.
What permissions would be wrong? Not the file itself obviously, as the only difference is whether the layers are showing. Something in the photoshop libraries? Seems weird, since this only happens over a certain
    size/complexity of source file.
Well anyway, I ran disk permissions in disk utility in case that was the issue, and didn't see anything relevant (it was all printer drivers). I guess we'll see if anything happens in the long run.

My hard drive fried and had to be replaced. I'm trying to install CS4 from my original discs but keep getting this error message - "One or more of the required components of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Standard failed to install correctly". A customer service rep gave me a link to download off the Adobe site, but when I try to open the file to run it, I get this error message - "A problem occurred extracting the archive".
    Can anyone help?

Yep.  Nothing happens at all. Windows tries to execute the uninstaller, but I don't get any other screen and all activity stops for the MSI.  I monitored it in Process Monitor and the MSI executable appears, but is quickly ended, like it couldn't find anything or something.
It's as if windows has a blank entry in Programs and Features, because it used to show the size of the Adobe application in the "Size" column.  Now it's just blank.  Link to screenshot below:
    http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/5006/screenshotcaf.jpg
Note the install date.  That's when I was able to successfully reinstall it.  Now I can't even do that.  I should also mention I tried Revo Uninstaller.  It deleted one small registry key, but nothing changed.
By the way, is the CS cleaner supposed to ask for a disc in the drive when you run it?  It refused to run unless I had one in it, so I used my install dvd.

    Help!
    Thanks, Mark

Unfortunately, the error message gives no details about what codec might be missing or what it needs.
If the file can't be opened in QT, it only means you cannot use the QT "Inspector" window to check what compression formats were used to create the file. It does not mean you can't use the Finder "Information" window to check on the compression formats or use a third party media information window (e.g., like VLC which will open many compression formats not supported natively by QT) to determine what kind of data is included in the MOV wrapper. If the file cannot be opened in any app, it is usually a good sign that the file itself is corrupted.
It's a stupid error message. Apple should do better than that.
Error trapping is quite extensive but there are still many areas which require human oversight. The message is telling you that either the container has a problem (e.g., not properly terminated, non-standard, or corrupted) or that one or more of the compression formats used is not supported by your current codec component configuration or that the data was encoded using non-standard settings or preferences not supported by QT or that the fourCC code does not match the data contained in the file or that there are timecode inconsistencies, etc., etc., etc. In short there are a near infinite number of possible problems for which it would be very difficult/nearly impossible to program error trapping depending on your sourcing of content and how you process it before it reaches the player app. Think of it like trying to play a BD disc in an DVD player.
I'll call Apple support when I get a chance.
Chances are good that they will end up sending you back here. In any case, it is often a good idea to post a sample file for examination by other QT users. At the very least, they should be able to tell you if the sample file will play on other systems which would indicate whether or not the file itself is bad and under the best of circumstances whould allow them to examing the file in detail for various common problems.

Having trouble when I launch iTunes (version 11.0.2) on my Dell Laptop running Windows 7 Professional (service pack 1).  I get an error message indicating software required to communicate with iPod and mobile phones was not installed correctly.  Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?  I normally respond with OK and it immediately tells me "could not be repaired.  Please reinstall iTunes..."  I have done this a number of times to no avail.

I also notice Quicktime is not getting installed at all.
That one is normal nowadays (ever since the iTunes versions 10.5.x).
The software required for communicating with iPods and mobile phones was not installed correctly. Do you want iTunes to try to repair this for you?
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Your best bet is probably to start over by cleaning off the old software with the Adobe Cleaner tool:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Then reinstall from your original media, or download it here:
