Running SAP 8.8 with 2 different License Servers on different machines

Hi all!
We have a problem using SAP 8.8 with more than 1 license server.
Here is the situation:
i would like to use a local license server and a local sbo-common with some databases. additional we have an other server with a license server and sbo-common with databases. the licenses are different from each other. the local license has a license for the manager, the license at the other server not. instead it has licenses for other users.
So i would like to work on both servers from my pc. furthermore, i would like to run 2 SAP applications: one connected to my local license server and database, the other connected to the non local server and database.
In 2007 this was possible!!! It seems that the license management works different in SAP 8.8. It should be possible that SAP reminds which server and database belongs to which licence server. But this isn't possible!

you are right, but there seems to be a bug in licences mechanism. Here a quote from my SAP message:
Szenario:
Start B1 Client, connect to server A - everything OK
Start B1 Clinet connect to sever B - no licence, because in B1 ist Licence Server A.
Change licence server to B in B1
Restart Client, connect to server B, everything OK
Start Client, connect to server A. No licence.
And additional: In SBO-COMMON on sever A in table SLIC the column LSRV is: SERVER B. Thats in my opinion an bug.
What do you mean?

You can use license manager to find the License server ID. Because let see “If the source license server is not available on the network when the Manage RDS CALs Wizard is run, you need to provide the license server ID for the source license server.”
For finding License server ID. Open RD Licensing manager. Right-click the license server for which you want to view the license server ID, and then click
Properties.
Click the Connection Method tab. The license server ID is listed in the
lower portion of the dialog box.
The migration of your license server requires three stages. First, you must activate the new license server. Next, you need to deactivate the old server. Lastly, you need to move all the licenses from the old server to the new server. To do this, you
will need to contact Microsoft Clearinghouse over the telephone. You should to be prepared with the paperwork for the original TS licenses, as this data needs to be provided to clearinghouse personnel. If the original paperwork is lost, then you need to contact

Why would different CF servers return different objects?

My application fails (error 1009) when it retrieves an object
from our ColdFusion production server but works fine when it
retrieves the same object from our testing server. From the
ColdFusion side the generated objects appear to be identical. From
the Flex side the returned objects appear to be different.
Here is a comparison of the returned objects when dumped with
objectUtil.getClassInfo:

From what I can see the servers are identical (Windows 2003,
CF version 7.02
latest hotfixes) as are the files (cfc's and swf).

How can I run a vi developed with LabView 7 Express on another machine ? Do runtime versions exist ?

Apparently, you want to run it on a machine that does not have LabVIEW installed.
To make a standalone executable of your LabVIEW program, you need to have the Application builder (included in LabVIEW professional and higher, avaliable as an add-on for base and full).
To run the application, the target system need to have the LabVIEW 7.0 runtime installed (available as a free download).
There is also the LabVIEW Player. In this case you need to digitally sign your VIs and there are a few limitations. It is meant for for sharing code ideas and is not a viable substitute for the appl
ication builder.
Of course you could also get a second copy of LabVIEW.
Some other options that would work in a very narrow set of situations: Read your LabVIEW license agreement. Under certain conditions you are allowed to install a second copy of LabVIEW on your home computer. If this is for personal educational use only and you qualify, you could also buy the LabVIEW student edition.

Run Admin Server with multiple Managed Servers each using different userid?

We currently run separate WebLogic domain instances for each business application in a Unix environment. Each one is created using a unix userid unique to that application and which owns all the files and is used to run the process when that particular WebLogic instance is started up. We have run this way for a while.
I am considering altering our approach to the one that is recommended, i.e. in our Production environment we would run a single Admin instance with numerous managed servers. One issue I'm stuck on is the fact that in our current environment, each application has a different unix userid that owns the files making up the WebLogic domain instance and that WebLogic instance is run under that userid.
I've investigated and experimented using WebLogic 10.3 preview and WebLogic 10.0, but I haven't been able to determine what I have to do to make each managed server's files and processes belong to a different unix userid, if that is even possible.
Is there a way, using the recommended approach, where there is a single Admin instance that has multiple managed servers whose files and processes are owned by different unique, unix userids?
If not, how would you separate access to each of the Managed Servers so that the programmers who maintain them don't have access to Managed Servers that they are not responsible for?

Running SAP on Microsoft Virtual Servers

Is anyone running SAP on Microsoft Virtual Servers? If so, what has been your experience with this? We are installing NetWeaver 2004s on three virtual servers (running on the same Physical Windows server). We are using the Microsoft Virtual Server software (not VM Ware).

VMware, GSX Server, VMware workstation, Microsoft Virtual Server
Due to their restriction to 32-bit, single CPU and host/guest operation, these virtualization products are not suitable for productive SAP applications.
It may be advisable to use one of these products to operate non-production systems (demo systems, test systems, development systems and so on).
I would not use Microsoft Virtual Server for productive installations, additionally, depending on the database used, it may or may not supported by the database vendor and thus also may or may not supported by SAP.
In worst case you will need to reinstall the application on a non-virtualized environment and reproduce a problem there before SAP support will accept the problem.

Is it possible to request 2 license for two systems with same SID. The systems are on different machines and their HW key are different but both have same SID. While requesting license, will it permit to create 2 different license with SAME SID.

The one for which the license is already requested is the main development portal with SID EP2. I have installed one local version of SAP EP with the same SID EP2. Now we need a license for the second system.
If we change the HW key of the original license which is already applied in the main development portal under SMP and apply for a new license for the new local version, can it have any future implications, if any.
What is the best way to deal with the situation. Is there a full proof way to change the SID of the EP system, which I can try in the local EP system.

Run addon with professional license or basis license

Hi
I have 1 license professional and 1 license basis for my addon. I use SboGuiApi.AddonIdentifier = myAddonIdentifierString
The user manager use the professional license, and the user USERAddon use the basis license.
The user USERAddon run BO and the addon.
The problem is that manager can't use the addon because i have this error: The user is not licensed
The question is: with the professional license, can't a user use the addon? I hope with professional license a user can do all, run Addon too.

Yes.
4. Question4: What is 'SAP Addons' license? I believe it is necessary for run sap addon, i.e. Payment Engine.
SAP AddOns license is needed to run SAP AddOns (Payment Engine as you said for example).
5. Question5: What is 'SDK Tools' license?
SDK Tools license is for the Screen Painter for example.

Can SAP Business One 8.8 be install and run in a server with a Peer to Peer Operative system?

You have more than one Oracle Release on the Server. hence more than one ORACLE_HOME.
Check which is your default ORACLE_HOME on the server and check which of the homes PERL5LIB environment variable is pointing from both command prompt and in Windows.
That could explain the funny bahaviour. If you change ORACLE_HOME, that could help.

Creating Weblogic domain with Admin Server and managed servers on different

I am trying to create Weblogic domain where Admin Server and managed servers on different machines. However I am unable to find any steps which would allow me to do so. The config.sh script always creates an Admin Server. Please help.

Whilst the method that Lawrence gives can result in a domain that is perfectly functional, it is a method that can result in errors as you are having to enter the same information twice. Also you will create two admin servers, as the second domain creation will have the console added to it on the renamed admin server and this will give issues.
The best method to create a domain spamming multiple physical machines, is to create the domain with all the components on the first machine. This means planning the domain and making sure all components are added once; so having the information about the domain written out is wise. Ensure that the WLS software is installed in the same path on each machine before starting.
Then copy the domain that you have created from one machine to the other, keeping the same paths. You can simply copy (I've used this method multiple times without issue) but the supported way would be to use the WLST PACK and UNPACK methods. These create and extract domains from templates. Accessing different Master Servers with one CLI installation

upon installation of the SPS Command Line Interface, one is asked to name the target master server, which is then written to some config.properties file.
How can such a CLI installation be used to access different master servers? Ideally using command line arguments, which do not seem to be available.

It's not possible to connect to multiple master
servers from a single CLI installation, nor is it
possible to install multiple CLI clients on the same
node.I think you can install multiple CLI clients on a machine with an OS on which we do not ship the native OS installer, for example linux. As the restriction of not being able to install multiple CLI instances is imposed by the installation system, not by the CLI software.

Are you planning for this certification ? If yes in that case you need to have the standard course material "TE2E04" provided by SAP.
Half of the question would be direct & remaining half would be on the understanding of the standards. Try to concentrate on Run SAP - Assement & scoping phase. The percentage distribution of questions from various chapters would be exactly as mentioned on the SAP website.
Cut-off is 57% and there would NOT be any hint for any objective questions as its provided by SAP for other certificaitons.

SW-3850 stacking with different License Levels?

we will be decommissioning the 3750 that is uplinked to a 3850-48port and will be connecting a 3850-24port in full stack-wise and stack-power High availability mode………now it will have the same IOS but the License Level will be different….so my question is will the two switches become stackable with different License Levels?

it so not possible stack two switches with different licence. You will have to order new license to be same on both switches.
