Running the BPF monthly.

Hi Friends
I am implemeneting sales planning in BPC 7.0 MS Version. I need to run the business process flow monthly.
But in the standard SAP BPC we have only one option " ONCE".
In that case how do i run the SAP BPF monthly.
Can any one please advice me on the same.

Hi Roger,
The option which you are looking in BPC Admin is only to make BPF available to users, but it is not required if you need to run your BPF one in a month.
An instance of BPF is created for every combination of data region, based on the controlling dimensions defined and by default TIME will be a controlling dimension. So if MONTH is lowest level in your time dimension, every month an instance of BPF is created.Example-log in into BPF by selecting 2010.Jan in data region and complete a step and to the same BPF login by selecting 2010.Feb, a new BPF instance will be created independent of previous one.

Hi,
You are absolutely correct by stating that instance of BPF is ONCE. Every month, you need to re-initiate the BPF. This will have a small admin activity.

Untested, but I'd say the repeat_interval clause of dbms_scheduler.create_job should be something like:
'FREQ=MONTHLY;BYMONTHDAY=8;'

Powershell Change date to the first day of last month whenever i run the script.

If I run the script on 2/4/2013 or any other day in February I want the date to be change to 1/1/2013. I am replacing date on line 59 with this value.

I get 12/1/2013. Which bring me to 2 questions. How will this solve when it is January and it has to put last month last year? and why is it going back two month instead of 1?

Can we run CK40N for the past month?

Hi All,
One of our users forgot to do the cost estimate for the month of May, that's why when he run CK40N (June 1), the prices went to future price, (i think because our MM is still May). I have some few questions and hoping for your positive feedback.
1.) If we open the June period, will the future price became present price? or we need to run again CK40N?
2.) Can we run CK40N for the past month of May? Reason is, we would like to capture the prices of Material last May.
Please advise.

CK40N Meant for creatting cost estimates for the product and estimation is some wht which you create for future or current period. It is not possible to run ck40n for the past period.
Now since you said that period june is not opened in MM. you can not release the price i.e.ck40n for june. check the details fo costing dates you have put in the dates parameters in ck40n. If you have run ck40n for june then after marking the price system will set the price as a future price and same prices become the current price once you release the price. So if you r executing ck40n for june and june is not opened , you can not release the price. First u open the period june then execute the release functionality future price would automatically become the current price for JUNE.

If you have 2GB of memory, that is the minimum required for OS X 10.7 Lion, however, many have found it needs 4GB+ to run reasonably well. Click on the apple on the left of the menu bar, then about this mac, to see how much memory you have.
To confirm if more memory will help, from Launchpad and utilities, load the Activity Monitor. Look at the system memory tab, specifically at page ins and page outs. If page outs is 10%-15% or more of page-ins, you can use more memory for what you run. When the system is low on memory OS X will write the contents of memory to the hard drive to make room for something else to run. Too much of this can impact performance. If you need more memory OWC and Crucial are both quality sources.
Also check your free hard drive space. Generally, you want 10% or more of the capacity to be free for systems usage. If free space gets too low, system performance will also be impacted.

Somehow, I agree with Ali.
Though the system allows you to release more than once but it is not recommended as there will more one standard price available for the same material which may lead inappropriate variance calculation and other inconsistency may crop up. Further system will revaluate all the inventory value with the new price.
You can also change the price manually through MR21 (this is not recommended but it is a work around).

My requirement is that i need to find the First Program run date in the Current Month in foreground. The user must be allowed to run the Report only once for a month and if the next time he runs in the same month, it should not allow him to do so.

Can SAP run the depreciation for closed Period and posting to diff month?

My client forgot to run the depreciation for Jan 2011, and now the Jan period has been closed and report also done.
My solution was to re-open the Jan and does the depreciation, once completed reclassify Jan depreciation posting to Feb 2011 manually.
I am just wandering whether SAP can handle this different way.
Can SAP performs Jan (Closed Period) depreciation and post to Feb period automatically or any other suggestions?

Time Evaluation Re Run in Mid Month & Mid Mont Initialization !

i was trying to run Time evaluation for the period 01.04.2011 to 31/12/2011.
from April, that is 01.04.4011 to 30.06.2011 Time evaluation was good, now time evaluation has to run from 01.07.2011 but time evaluation has repeated from 12.06.2011 to 11.07.2011 as Initialization period 07/2011, and the same scenario is repeated for the rest of the year..all periods are initiated on 12th of each month from 6th month that is 12.06.2011.
i was been trying to rectify this issue but was not bale to solve it, could any one please look in to it and let me know how to solve it?

Can you please regenerate Period Parameters for 2011 year in T-Code for OG00 for period parameter 01 and then give the hire date in the field Forced Recalculation as of run in PT60 and run the time evaluation.

How to run logic one month at a time

I got a script logic funding.which contains 6 sub logics in it.
for ex: funding calc
tax lgf
initialize lgf
fund_ob lgf
funding lgf
dirtax lgf
reservers lgf.
my problem is if i run the above logic for full year my balance sheet is out of balace. becoz my fund_ob is pulling prior values.
how can i run above set of logic by month wise.
for jan:
tax lgf
initialize lgf
fund_ob lgf
funding lgf
dirtax lgf
reservers lgf.
feb:
tax lgf
initialize lgf

If you are saying that you need to run a different set of logic for one month vs. another month,. then take a look at *Logic_BY and *Logic_Mode and *Logic_Property keywords in the online help, these allow you to run a different "default" logic script based on (in your example) the time dimension member being sent. You will need to add a property called LOGIC to the Time dimension, and populate it with the name of the logic file you'll call in logic.

Actually i was just thinking,if any company wants to run the mrp for planning than how to decide,when to run the mrp(daily,weekly,monthly).
One of the factor,while deciding this could be the raw material procurements,right?if they procure raw material once in a month than they should run the mrp once in a month.(even we can control this by keeping monthly lot size,if you run the mrp every week).
What could be the other reasons?

As said by our other forum friends it depends on the business requirement.
In one of my project as the client were recieving monthly plan for their production MRP was carried out monthly.
It can be based on the production plan or say sometimes the maximum lead time for producing a product.
