Running total in group header doesn't display when it's at page bottom

Hi, Using v.9 of Crystal Reports I've created some running totals using a cross-tab workaround to get the running totals into the group headers, but when the group header falls at the bottom of the page then the running total doesn't show up.Would appreciate knowing why and how to fix this.

Replacing an item that is malfunctioning because of a manufacturing error is the bare minimum I would expect from customer service for any electronics item.
The thing Apple does extremely well is their flat fee policy for repairs on their computers.
I managed to break my MacBook pretty seriously (logic board needed to be replaced) and I'm sure it cost them more to repair the unit than the $328 they charged me.
I probably would have been angry if it was something minor, but I'm guessing that most repairs to screens/motherboards/etc cost more than their flat fees.

I know there is a way to do this, just forgot how. i am in version 8.5. i have a manual running total which calculates order qty for the entire sales order.i (dont like using the rt wizard-buggy)
the knowledge base says to use a cross tab, but there hit or miss also.
does anyone know how to show the display formula for a manual runnning total in the group header instead of group footer?

I wanted to try this before I sent it to you, but my Crystal is down because (blah, blah, long story here....yawn....).
I think I understand. You want to show the "Total" for each group, in the group header instead of the group footer?
My experience is that Crystal works from the top down (read: limiting), so I need a work around to do this.
1 - Do the calculation in the query...sum by group, filter with a "Case" statement, etc. If there's a reason you can't do that then
2 - (and this is what I wanted to try first) see if you can group on the same field twice.
Group 1 - Test.field
Group 2 - Test.field (same field)
If you can,
then just carry the total from the group footer of the previous group (same field) above you, and bring it down
(shared var ?) to the group below.
My 2 cents is up.

Hello, I have been reviewing threads for running totals and would like some assistance on creating a running total for a group with a condition that will display in the group header, the running total should also reset for each group. Is this possible?
I know that there are some constraints such as the variable being reset to 0 in the header for each group as well as the group records have not been rendered when the header formulas are being assessed. I have been able to accomplish the task of running totals with conditions for groups using a running total field and also 3 separate formulas placed in the group header, detail and footer. The display is only correct in the group footer; my goal is to have the footer formula in the group header. Any ideas? I am currently using CR 8.5 but will be upgrading to CR 2008.

Hi,
If you are trying to calculate Total and display it in Group Header for field value placed in Detail, then you will get incorrect/no value for total, as Crystal Reports prints/processes the report line by line and it will not be able to process the Total for field in Detail section in Group Header.
Its is by Design.
For a workaround:
- Insert the same probematic report (Say A.rpt) as a Subreport in Group Header of this report(Say A.rpt).(Say in GroupHeader A1) and link the Main Report to the
- Insert Section Below (Say GroupHeader A2)
- Calculate Total in Section Group Header A2)
This workaround will reduce the Performance of the report as Subreport will be proceed for each Group Value.

Group Header is not repeating when exported to pdf in 2008 r2

Hi
i have a typical scenario here , when i am trying to repeat my group header it is working fine in report viewer but when i exported to pdf it is not repeating. yea it is working fine in excel.
could some one help me in this as i tried various ways but couldn't able to figure it out
PS: i am using 2008r2
if this is the issue in 2008r2 , did it got fixed in any new version please suggest.

Hi sharath,
Based on my understanding, the group header doesn’t repeat when you export report to PDF file.
In Reporting Service, the RepeatOnNewPage property has effect on static row members only and where KeepWithGroup is not None. If value for KeepWithGroup is None, the group header will not appear in a new page. As we tested in our environment, we set FixedData
as True, KeepWithGroup as After and RepeatOnNewPage as True, the group header repeat in second page when export to PDF file. Please refer to screenshot below:
So in your scenario, please check if you have set KeepWithGroup as After. Then export to PDF again to check if group header can repeat in multiple pages. If issue persists, please provide some detail information about your report design. If possible, please
provide some screenshots about your results before and after perform PDF render.

Outlook Web Access doesn't display when in a Page

Hi guys,
I have set up an IView to access Outlook Webmail, as per the normal help documents, and the IView works perfectly - displays my Inbox and everything. If I add the IView into a workset, users are able to view their Inbox too.
However, If I create a Page and put the IView on that page, the Inbox no longer displays - it just has a blank window where the Inbox should appear. Right-clicking on the blank page and going to Properties, I can see that its going to the correct web address.
My question is, why doesn't the Inbox display when the IView is in a Page?

PS, Here's something unusual... In Content Administration --> Portal Content, when I right-click on the Page and choose "preview" it displays the Inbox properly. However, it doesn't display when its accessed from a Workset.

Yes, I have added the Page to the Workset, and also the IView to the Page.
If I set up a temporary workset, And assign the 2 objects to it (the IView and the Page), they appear as links at the top of my Portal. When I click the link assigned to the IView, the Inbox is shown. When I click the link assigned to the Page, it only shows a blank window instead of the Inbox.

Running total above Group

Hey,
I may be having a brain freeze. I need to print a running total (max) above the detail lines of a report. Since the running total is not known until after the detail lines, is there a way to do this? I'm stuck and frustrated. Thanks,

I'm starting to think I am going about this in the wrong way. My report has a field named 'tolerance' which is on every other record but does not appear in the report detail. It is the same value for every record in the group. I need to capture the value and display it in the group header. I was attempting to do a max() running total, and the field looked fine in the group footer, but when I copied it to the group header to changed to blank.
I think there must be a simpler way to do this, but I don't know what it is. Thanks for your help,

How to store running sum of group header fields

HI All,
        I am bit confused how to do this so writing the post here. I have a group header which gets the amount spent by cost centre by account number
the group contains the following fields
[Account Number] [SDESCR] [sum of coscentre1] [sum of costcentre2] and so on.
The end result i get as follows
Account number Description     Coscentrenumber1 CostCentrenumber2 and so on
100                       cash at bank     6000                        7000
200
and so on
now i want
                                      Total    Sumof(Costcentrenumber1)   Sumof(Concentrenumber2)
how can I achieve this ? am confused how to store the value of [sum of costcentre1] into a shared variable and use this shared variable in page footer to display the total ?

Let me be more clear I need the out out something like
Account number Description   Costcentrenumber1 Costcentrenumber2 Costcentrenumber3
100                                                 6000                       7000                            800
200                                                 4000                        5000                         300
         Toal                                    10000                           12000                     1100
the account numbers are placed in Group header so that we group all the transactions by account number. Say for example when i said account number 100 above in the backend
it is as follows
Account number     Costcentrenumber1
100                          2000
100                         2000
100                         2000
In the crystal the above logic is placed in Group header by creating Group Name fields
so that end result in the report it is shown as
Account number Coscentrenumber1
100                        6000
Now in the report at the end i want the sum by Costcentrenumber.
as 10000 shown above.

Table style doesn't display when viewed or when project is published

I'm running RH8 (with RH8 Server). The table style no longer displays when viewed or when published. I checked the table style of the same project (but older version) and the styles to me looked the same. It displayed fine last week (famous last words), but this week something changed. Can anyone help?
The tablegradient.jpg can be seen in the project (image A), but when I view (eyeglasses), or if I open a published project, it doesn’t (image B).

I really do not know what has caused this but in your situation I would be looking at the CSS for the table now and when it worked.
After that I would probably create a new project and create the same setup afresh. That can often identify the cause of problems like this.

Mac doesn't display when powering on

Everytime I power on my Mac mini, my monitor doesn't display the Apple logo, it is black. Then after a while, It shows the desktop. Can there be something wrong with my system?
My monitor is connected with a mini display port to a VGA adapter on a VGA monitor? The monitor is a dell 1704FPT

Firefox doesn't display some text on certain pages.

I've noticed that on some pages, Firefox doesn't display certain text. I have the newest version of Firefox installed and my flash and java are updated. The text displays fine on Chrome and IE. Please see my example in the screenshots of the stevenson.edu webpage. Does anybody know what I can do to fix this problem or if there is some sort of plugin I am missing to display certain content? Thanks.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.

To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

Icon in header coloumn only displayed when not bound to context

I face a pretty strange behaviour in my application. I have atable with some columns.
I want the header with an icon behind the text. usually that is no big deal. Alas the icon wll not be displayed when I bind the columns textview to the context. when I hard-code some entry to the "text" property the icon is shown.
I tried it on several columns, copied the columns and just switched the text property, its always the same behaviour...

Ok,
It finally works, it's always good to get a break when you're stuck..
I deleted the tablesorter class and used to "offixial" one from the tutorial. then the icons were displayed after th efirst time it was sorted.
As you can read in thread Re: Webdynpro Table: Column Header sort icon not visible
that happened to others to.
I just added one method to the tablesorter class...
public void sort(IWDNode dataSource, String columnId)
and called that upon table data context binding, so that initialy the table is sorted and also the icon appears on the initially sorted

Custom ContextMenu doesn't display when using hand cursor

I have created a custom ContextMenu, which displays when
right-clicking on the Canvas. If I am showing the hand/pointer
cursor using the code below, and then right-click, the custom
ContextMenu is not displayed. Is this a known issue in Flex 3 or is

Make sure you haven't inadvertently set mouseEvents to false.

CF 9 - CFPOD - Header doesn't display

I get a bottom, right and left border, but nothing on top of the box:

IE8 doesn't display when opened on Server 2003 SP2

Internet Explorer starts the iexplore.exe process and begins to use CPU and memory but never displays. Security patches refuse to apply to IE 8 on this server. Tried reinstalling/repairing IE8 but received the message "Operating System not supported."
Tried the same in Safe Mode as well. IE 8 does not show up as an installed feature but still appears to be present throughout the system.
Any ideas?

Start>Control Panel>Internet Options>Advanced tab, uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions"....
General tab, change your homepage to about:blank
Just to be safe reboot your Windows Server 2003 for the full changes to take effect.
If still no joy... Start>Run.... msconfig>Startup tab, disable any nonMicrosoft startup processes...
Reboot for the changes to take effect.
