Running video alongside Mainstage - is it possible?

Hi all,
This may have been answered before, but is it possible to run / sync a video track from Mainstage, and have the video play out of the display port?
I already have extensive instruments & playback module running very well live, but would now like to trigger visuals to run with the tracks.
Would it mean getting hold of a second Mac & using master/slave clock, or some other box of tricks to play video with MIDI commands?
Any advice gratefully appreciated!

I used Arkaos on the background, launching video to an external display. On Mainstage I programmed buttons to send note-on events thru IAC, and worked quite OK, excepting some sluggish effects on heavy movies.
You can also embed audio tracks on the movies, so you could use the movie as an backing audio track to play with.
You can download a trial of Arkaos and test for yourself.
In a pro situation, I would use Playback to play a SMPTE audio file , and send this to another dedicated computer with a software which can read it and sync to video.

try converting your text into an mso (slideshow) that is placed above your video in the stack order.

Lagging... Not running video smoothly anymore.

I have an iBook G4 running 10.5.6 with 1.5GB of ram and a 160GB hard drive...
So here's the problem... Recently I've had trouble with programs lagging for several seconds before responding or taking a long time to start up. Also, video is no longer running smoothly for me. Even quicktime videos and other movie files saved to my hard drive are jerky. I did some spring cleaning and I now have 11GB of free space but that didn't seem to help. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I could check or change in order to get things running smoothly again? Is it possibly a virus?
I did check the S.M.A.R.T. status on my hard drive and it says "verified."

Here's some things to try, in addition to S.U.'s suggestions.
1) Play the videos while logged in as another user
2) purchase/borrow an external cooling pad and have that running under your computer while working
3) play the videos using another player--I like VLC, personally.
How old is your iBook? How old is the hard drive?

Your fan(s) will run at high speed (i.e., loudly) while video is playing, and you can't get around that.
If your fans are not slowing down within 2-4 minutes after CPU- and/or GPU-intensive usage ends, and the application that was showing the video is still running, Quit that application. (In fact, if you're accustomed to Windows, you may not realize that simply closing a Mac application's window does not quit the application. You still need to use the Quit command in the application-name menu. There will always be a bright dot beside or below the application icon in your Dock for each application that is open.) Quit the ones you aren't using, and see whether that allows the fans to slow down without restarting the machine. If that doesn't do the trick, reset the SMC:

Blue screen when running videos

I have a pavilion dv6 laptop product number XE056EA#ABV
I get blue screen and computer crashes when i run videos. Recently I received help from HP community and downloaded the latest graphics adpater dirver. The problem was solved when using google chrome. however when i tried internet explorer the problem still persists. I made sure I have the latest version of explorer. This happens when i use youtube or andy video streaming in any web page.

I grasp that when playing videos your computer crashes unless you are using Google Chrome. You have updated the graphics drivers.
Have you done all your Windows updates?
Have you ran the HP Support Assistant to aid with HP updates?
There is a bios update for your notebook. If you have not done that update, I suggest contacting HP support for assistance as it does have a potential to cause damage. Updating the BIOS

Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Not empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Now try a video.

Missing Plug-in when trying to run video content

I am new Mac user and one of my favorite websites returns an error message when I try to run video content..the message is....."Media Center” has content of MIME type “application/x-mplayer2”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed." Any advice where and how to get the plug-in for Safari...?

I think your only other hope is to try installing the old, PowerPC only, Windows Media Player (WMP) from here:

Microsoft's WMP supports some of the DRM files that Flip4Mac can't handle (but sadly it can't handle the most recent types of files).
For Safari to use the plug-in for WMP it must be run in Rosetta mode (where the system emulates a PowerPC processor). To do that, you'll need to navigate to the Applications folder, select the Safari icon and press cmd+i. In the 'Get Info' window that pops up, enable the Rosetta checkbox. (If Safari is already running, quit it and restart Safari to pick up the change.)
Safari will run noticeably slower in this mode, so I'd only recommend using this when you really have to (assuming it even works! ).

Can't run videos on Safari, only on Foxfire. On Safairi I get a message that Adobe Flash is out of date, but I can't update-it won't take ID or PW.

I can't run videos using my Safari browser, only on Foxfire. On Safari when I try to run a video, I get a message that says my Adobe flash player is out of date and to download new adobe flash. However, when I try to run the Adobe Flash player installer, it won't take my Apple ID and PW. I tried creating an Adobe PW and ID, but that doesn't work either. Any suggestions? Thank you.

it should require the name & password for an admin account on your computer - not an 'apple id' or adobe one...
where are you downloading Flash from - here ?

The Nokia Asha 230 does not run Android as operating system, therefore, the Google Play Store does not work. The operating system of your phone relies on a video streaming protocol called RTSP. Dailymotion does not support that anymore. I cannot comment about your Facebook issue. Perhaps someelse can.

My iPad recently stopped running video from websites and itunes store samples

my ipad won't run video from websites (ex. CNN just shows a still and no way to start), youtube just has the spinng timer as does itunes when I'm trying to get a song sample. Suggestions? These worked fine amonth ago.

Close all apps in the recents tray and reboot the iPad.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Close every app. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
