Running web forms in netscape 6.1

Has anyone succeeded in running web forms in netscape 6.1?
Oracle say it only runs in Netscape 4.7

I have tested Patch 9 with Jinitiator 1.3.1.6 and Netscape 6.2
and seems to be working fine. This configuration is not
officialy supported by Oracle but until now I found no problems.

Nt-service..but i see it running only like process by
task-manager..)
but on my browser when i lunch the form-cartrige nothing
happens..
Anyone can help me?

Yes,Nicolas..
then only application ruuning at port 9000 is isfrv60 i stardetd.
Not only..i can note, that if i start ifrsv60 port=9000 for first
and then i modify then listener number port of OAS to 9000, the
listener applet say me something like..i cannot able to fork...
So, i MUST to set AOS listener port to 9000,and AFTER start
ifsrv60 on port 9000.
Only in this way there are'nt errors..but nothing happens..
Same story if the number port isn't 9000 ..
However..i ask to myself, why the release note and guide on OAS
web pages are fills of all examples to how to do buldin
cartridges and application, but there aren't any examples about
web-forms!!

Run Web Form option

In developer 6.0 there is option to run a form in client-server
mode or in "web" mode. I have installed and made all the
necessary additions to the registry settings(javadir, etc.) but
when I click on the "web run" icon nothing happens. If anyone
has a solution your time would be greatly appreciated.

If you find out an answer to this let me know. I'm having the
same problem.
Also after you installed Developer 6.0 I'm assuming you clicked
on the "web" button and got a few errors and each time the error
fix was to add some entry in the PC register, right? If so what
entries did you add to the register so I can make sure mine are
the same ones. Thanks.

Is there any file missing when I setup my environment.

I have already setup the params you mentioned.
FORMS60_MAPPING = http://MYHOST:XXXX/abc/
where MYHOST is my host server
XXXX is the port number of listener
abc is a virtual path
FORMS60_OUTPUT = C:\ORANT\WEBTEMP
which is a valid path.
Are they correct ?
Can you tell me what is the purpose of setting the above params ?

Can only run Web form 1 time then error

I have a link to a form in my portal and the first time I open the form it works great. Then I click BACK and try again and it gives me the Error= (FRM-92050: Failed to connect to the Server:/forms90/I90servlet:-1). Why is it doing that? Also, How do I set the link to automatically open a new page when I click the link and login automatically? Thanks alot for anyones help!

I think the problem you are running into is that you restart a new application (or the same but in a new process) without closing the first properly. There is a known issue with OC4J in Oracle9iAS 9.0.2 that prevents us to start a second Forms session in teh same Browser process. I am just guessing here because I don't have an environment to reproduce - but it would be plausible.
For the link oart, you better ask in a Portel forum. Automatic login is performed using SSo in Forms.

1. No you cannot run a Forms9i application without application server. This is because client/server has been removed from the product.
2. What do youm mean with "running without Forms builder"? Of course you can run it without using the Forms IDE, just call it from an URL in a Browser.
3. Fine, just create a shortcut for the Browser and append the HTTP URL that you want to call to the Browser start command
e.g netscape http://<server>:<port>/forms90/if90servlet?...
Same is possible to do with IE. You can create a shortcut that starts the Browser in kioks mode without all the Browser URL field and navigation buttons. See the Browser's help on how to di this.

Using RUN_PRODUCT to run a report in a web form

I have a web-based Oracle form with a button that, when pressed, calls RUN_PRODUCT to run a report. Reports Server can find the file and run it, but the screen output appears on the machine running Reports Server!
Is there a way to have the output appear on the machine running the form? I am running Application Server 9i on a Windows NT 4.0 machine, and the machine I'm using to run the form is running IE 5.5 as well as Windows NT 4.0.

Use Web.Show_Document and specify the URL for where your report is made.

Forms 6i and above yes it is possible.
Forms 6i can be deployed both web and client/server, but 9i and above is only for web deployment.
If you want to deploy for testing purposes you can run the forms from the forms builder using OC4J Instance, but for production deployment you need to have OAS, Oracle Application Server.

I am new in oracle form 9i (web form). Before I use oracle form client 6i. Just set icon with command (D:\ora6i\BIN\ifdbg60.EXE MYFORM.FMX). The login will be prompt out and user can log in to run many oracle 6i forms from oracle menu. In Oralce form 9i designer, I can open form designer and use run form from IE.
1. How can I depoly these form with menu to other users.
2. How can I define the url link to public (Application Server)?

There is a document than helps a lot in
\orant\tools\devdem60\web\readmem.ht. I have exacly the same
environment and it worked fine with jinitiator (a little bit
slow) and following this Cookbook.

On your develop machine open the formsweb.cfg in %developer_home%\forms\server
with the text editor of your choice.
Scroll to the end of the file and create a new config entry:

I want to run a form on web which contains activex

can any one help me, how can i run a form on web which contains
the activex control created with vb.
according to activex, it has to register with the system
registery. but in case of web what can i do?
please help me if any one know the answer.

If your active X has a visual component then you can't run it
inside forms on the web. If it is only running in the backend you
can use OLE2 Package to activate it on the server.
You can try and use Java Beans instead of your ActiveX they will
work in forms.
If your activeX can be embeded in an HTML page, you can call the
HTML page using web.show_document.
