Running Win 7; FF DL process stops at DL of "stub". Help.
When I try to download and install FF on my Windows 7 machine, the process stops after [apparently] successful download of Setup Stub 29.0.1. I have tried repeatedly to do this, always with the same results. To proceed would be, by definition, insanity.
My Windows 7 machine(s) has/have all available updates.
100s of 1000s of user-attempts must be experiencing the same phenomenon.

I have Lookout 6.5 running with Windows 7, the process has been running for about 2 months with no problems, but today the Citadel stopped working!
How could this have happened and what can I do to get it running again?Didnt realize there was a response, late getting back to you.
Save your process files outside of the NI progam directory (you should have external backups already right ). THey should not be deleted.
Any customizations to the lookout.ini and lookout.sec file may be lost.

Scheduled daily backups of DMM fail - Backup/Restore process stops running
Hi, I have been testing the scheduled backups within the DMM AAI and have found it's performance to be unreliable.
Specifically I am performing FTP backups to a remote network location. Manual one-off backups complete successfully without any issues, and scheduled backups occur on the same day, however successive (reoccuring) daily backups don't happen and the Backup/Restore process seems to stop running. I have checked the backup logs but these don't provide any insight as to why the backup process stops running.
Has anyone else encountered this? I am running DMM v5.2.0.25.
MikeI am having a similar problem. Is there a method to restart the backup service without having to reboot the entire DMM Server?
Note that there is no method via the AAI menu system, and the Web Admin console services section is not clear as to whether it will reboot the entire server (which is NOT an easy thing for me to get away with here).

I have now learned (per a Cisco engineer), that the 'Scheduled backup services' in the screencap above, is normally in the 'stopped' status "by design", and that it will not show as started in this UI unless the DMM server is actually in a backup.

After pressing "look inside", the loading message continues indefinitely. Sometimes, I get the message "server timeout".
Internet Explorer 8.0 loads the "look inside" pages instantly for the exact same Amazon books.
I have been running Win 7 64 bit for about 9 months. I believe the Amazon feature worked initially. Was running XP and Firefox prior to Win 7 and never had this problem. Used the "look inside" feature many times.I believe I found the issue with this.
The IP Address that this server was sending out emails from, was at one point, blacklisted. So I changed the server to use our email gateway IP instead, and SMS Messages are being sent through now.

Bootcamp - Seems there is no Support from Microsoft for Windows 8.1, once it is loaded.
I Just got off the Microsoft Technical Help line (Australia ph132058) and they refused to help me because I am running Win 8.1 in Bootcamp.
I have the latest Mac Book Pro Retina with a 1TB Solid State Hard drive running Win 8.1, beautiful machine, but its slower than my old MBP running windows 7 on a standard Drive.
The niggiling problem is that it seems to hang up for seven or 8 seconds on menial tasks........ like generating a new Folder or Note etc. Otherwise it runs reasonably well but not blindingly fast....
I wasn't aware Microsoft refused to help win 8.1 users on the Mac Platform........ shouldn't this Information be made more public...! Seems they are keen to drive potential Windows users away!!
Any suggestions on where I should go for help on this (Windows/Bootcamp in General) would be much appreciated ? ........ don't mind paying a reasonable price if the service is good......
I guess the wheel has turned and Microsoft are having a go at Apple again...?

I was thinking along the same lines. I installed Win 8.0 Pro and upgraded to 8.1 ........ probably a bad move.
I have bought a new 8.1 Licence but cant risk doing a complete reinstall until I have a back up machine ready. (My old MBP is getting a new hard drive) ......... so will give that a go in about a weeks time when the back up is in place. Cant risk having nothing!
When you say "Clean Install" ..... do you mean everything ..... as in Reformat the Bootcamp sector and start from scratch.?
I have a 2 TB LaCie Thunderbolt drive with my back up data on ..... is there a way to make the Reinstall process and large amount of Data transfer easy?
The reinstall is something I need to read up on. I was hoping the solution might be some kind of Tune up on the SSHD.

..... do you have any tips on screen Res on the Retina ..... I am running Windows at 125% Zoom, but the Bluetooth, power, wireless, Date Icons etc are all still tiny ...... could really do with an alternative to the old "Advanced Appearance Settings"

How do I turn on the keyboard backlight when running Win 7 in Bootcamp 4.0?
Power Plan 2.5e does not find a Bootcamp process, so doesn't think I'm running it, and is no help. The backlight works perfectly in Mountain Lion, but I can't getit to come on at all when running Win 7. What am I missing?
Well the problem is most certainly having 2 versions Why on earth would you
do that ?
You'll have to remove both and reinstall version 4, although at this point
you probably should upgrade.

Best way to control and run multiple (up to 20) processes independantly in LV
Hi all,
I'm trying to build an application in LV to independantly control and run multiple (up to 20) processes, ie, it should be able to start and stop any of the processes at any given time. What would the best way to code for this? Off the top of my head would be to use a unique notifier to control each of the process, but I'm thinking that the code upkeep may be a handful with this number of notifiers being defined. Are there better ways of doing this?

How much "discipline" do you want to program into the Process Commands framework? For instance, is it OK for any VI to command a process into a certain state, or should your program generate a broken wire or run-time error if a command is sent from a non-authorized source?
Where do your needs fall on this spectrum: simplicity that gets the job done and the product out the door and will probably not need much maintenance or upgrading, or flexible framework that will likely undergo multiple upgrades or fall into the hands of multiple developers?

Deployed processes stopped showing up in BPEL console
Hello,
Our BPEL processes stopped picking up business events; BPEL console dashboard is empty. After, restarting oc4j_soa instance on secondary node, BPEL process picked up business events. After few minutes, BPEL process showed in console.
After one day, BPEL processes disappeared from console.
Following is the error message, I see in soa_err*.log on all nodes after the last successful pick up.

SivaI ran into a BPEL_OC4J_SOAP_Provider error today and it was related to my proxy. The proxy on my local machine with JDeveloper would allow a WSDL with an unqualified name through. For instance, the machine kronos:7779 would validate, compile, and deploy from my machine. But looking up the WSDL on the server would produce the above described error. When I changed the name of the server to kronos.whatever.com:7779 it worked as expected on the server.

Itunes won't update or install on windows pc, running win 7
3 yr/old windows pc, running win 7 has been unable to update iTunes for the past 3 updates. last time, after uninstalling iTunes, I installed the new version.
this time that failed. "insufficient privileges" msg stops the install. but, I am signed on as administrator, so it's puzzling.It may be your firewall. Just for the install, turn off the firewall, turn off power-saver to prevent computer from sleeping. Also make sure your wifi will remain active with the computer.

Cannot use BD DVD Player: WIN DVD MFC application has stopped working
Tried to install my old version of WinDVD and failed and in the process may have accidentally deleted a file,
for now whenever I try and use BD DVD Player I get the following message:
'WIN DVD MFC application has stopped working '
I tried using restore point but still get it, can anyone advise please?It will be interesting to know which notebook model do you have.
Anyway, in my opinion there is some software conflict. I can imagine both players use same modules or plug-ins and there is conflict.
I dont know what solution can be but maybe you should remove both players, restart your notebook and make clean BD player in hope it will works properly. -
The installation process stops at 90%
I tried several times to install a trial copy of Photoshop Elements 8.0 without completing the installation. At a certain point, around 80-90%, the installation process stops at and it return back to zero.
