I start up firefox and it says the proxy server is refusing connection. It is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections. To check the proxy servers and ask network administrater to make sure proxy server is correct They say the proxy server is correct and it is a firefox problem. So what to I do now?

Make sure that the Firefox connection settings are the same as in IE.
You can find the connection settings in "Tools > Options > Advanced : Network : Connection"
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select No Proxy
In Firefox 3.6.4 and later the default connection settings have been changed to "Use the system proxy settings".
You can compare them with the IE settings in the Internet Options (Control Panel).
Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections: LAN Settings

Gmail usernames and passwords not displaying correctly - is the issue with Firefox?

I have 3 email accts and when I click username in Gmail those 3 would show and passwords would be remembered automatically. Now it shows these 3 and 2 others that have been used before, plus NO passwords displayed. In the past if this happened I refreshed page and it went back to the 3 accts - this is no longer happening. Could it be a firefox issue?
Also my autofill in Gmail is no longer working and I have seen other inquiries about that. Is there any info on how to fix these???

This is a known issue in Firefox 4 beta 12. You could wait til' the RC comes out, or you could grab one of the latest nightly builds availible here that fix this problem: ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/nightly/latest-mozilla-central/
Just a note though, nightly versions of firefox are generally less stable than betas or releases. I am waiting for the Release Candidate to come out myself. (Should be early next week)

[SOLVED] sound and video issues with firefox

I decided to change my browser due to some problems with the last chromium update (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=182218).
I'm using the last version of firefox but I can't watch any videos in this browser. I'm having two main problems:
· There is no sound at all in the videos played. But there is sound if I play something with Clementine or mplayer
· The videos stop after a few seconds automatically. The videos keep loading, but they are not played anymore.
This is a weird thing. I can't use a browser! Please some help!
PS: I change the player on youtube to HTML5 and it's working now

compiling against the FP10 cocomo.swc, but aren't requiring player
10 in your Flex project (check Project Properties->Flex
Compiler). I'd either use the FP9 swc, or require 10.0.0 or higher

It is important that you keep IE updated. The information included with your question, indicates that you are using IE7; you should update to IE8 for your own protection. IE9 will not be made available for Windows XP.

I keep getting an error message: "Proxy server is refusing connection."
I can not access Firefox due to this message.
I went to Firefox site and ran the diagnosis scan with no success to clear symptom.
Running Windows 7 Home premium
I have Mcafee virus protection.
I have not knowingly connected to a proxy server.
I have two PC's running on a Cisco Systems router and the other PC is not having this symptom.

Updated to firefox 3.6.6 on laptop and now it can't acces the net "The proxy server is refusing connections" I've restarted twice. My other computer in home works fine. Just not laptop on Network/WiFi

Can't access the web on lap. It's networked form main computer. The problem started just after I downloaded/updated to Firefox 3.6.6. That may be a coincidence. I get "The proxy server is refusing connections". Restarts don't help. My main computer is fine. I didn't update it.

Firefox 3.6.6 made a change in prefs to use system proxy settings.
Check your proxy / network setting in Windows and change it to No Proxy, if you don't use a proxy.

I can't get online through firefox (this keeps coming up THE PROXY SERVER IS REFUSING CONNECTIONS) but can through internet explorer?

As I said in the question when I click on the firefox link on the desktop this is what comes up (THE PROXY SERVER IS REFUSING CONNECTIONS Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections) but I can get connected through Internet Explorer. I have uninstalled firefox and reinstalled firefox with no difference.

I tried all that stuff and none of it helped. I can't load any of the google applications in firefox now. They pop up with this screen.

Now I tried a couple of other sites and they all seemed to work okay, and if necessary I could click understand the risks and still access the site, but no go with google. I was using Firefox one day when the following message was shown: "The proxy server is refusing connections

I checked with my network administrator and he said that everthing was fine. I started using Internet Explorer and everything is working. I don't think this is a problem with my server.

My web proider is Verizon Fios. I've contacted Verizon 4 times about this. I was instructed to delete Firefox and then download again. It didn't help. I'm able to get to your main window.
