Running xp itouch will not finish sync

I have been to the apple store and checked with my internet provider and my security provider and my itouch still will not finish syncing.
After trying for several minutes it freezes my computer.

They said everything looks like it should work. They uninstalled all components and reinstalled them in order according to your web instructions and it didn't make any difference.

    Nevermind, tried a different cable and it started working. There is no visible signed of damage on the cable and very odd timing on when it failed.

    I have iOs 7.0.4 and Itunes 11.1,3,8 and the sync will not finish - it gets hung up on the " waiting for items to copy" function and will not seem to finish. Any suggestions are welcome. Apple really needs to get a handle on this problem, it seems to be chronic with this version of iTunes.

    And yet many are having no problem at all.
    If you are syncing wireless, try synching connected with cable, or visa versa.
    If iCloud is set up properly it does not create conflict unless given conflicting instructions.  The content in iCloud depends on your Apple ID.   You must use one as iCloud can only sync to one account at a time.   If you have books purchased on more than one ID, you must authorize them on your iTunes accounts get them to sync.
    Check the settings in iTunes on the computer.   Turn off auto sync in preferences.   Highlight the device and bring up summary page.   Go through each page and make sure boxes are checked for any content you want added.
    Apply
    Sync.
    IBooks have been a pain.   Only solution I found was to delete all books, then select and sync books back on to the device. 
    If you find significant bugs in operation.  
    First try.....reset all settings
    If that fails to help....Backup to computer (not the cloud)   Restore to factory.   Restore from backup

  • My itouch will not finish downloading this iBook

    A couple days ago I was able to download iBooks, but when I started this one it wont get off the downloading screen and the bar wont even budge. I can't figure out why after google searching and trying different answers, and no, rebooting doesnt work. Any ideas?

    Ditto.  I bought a book.  It downloaded to my iPad.  It has been downloading on my iPhone for weeks.  Can't delete it, have reinstalled iBooks only to have book appear again and start downloading but never completes.
    If I move to my PDF screen and back to the books screen, the blue bar goes back to 0% and it just sits there.  When I try to go download it from the store again, it says it has been downloaded. 
    I tried to sync with iTunes and install book from iTunes, but it will not install teh book and continues to try to download the book and never finishes.
    Nothing has helped.  Restarted iPhone, deleted iBooks, tried to install from iTunes, tried to download a free book, book is still stuck on download and won't stop.  Major confusion on why this is such a problem, and not an uncommon one.

    I have a Iphone 4s with ios 6 running on it and just yesterday it will not follow thru with the apps that i purchase from Itunes on the comp... It starts the process but when it gets to "Determining Apps To Sync" it just stops, no error message no nothing!!! HELP!!! I tried uninstalling Itunes and loading a fresh copy and it did not work, new cable!! HELP!!!

    I figured it out!!! You need to uninstall Itunes completely from the PC, make sure you go into the System Files, these are located under start, my computer, then a folder called "program files", make sure you delete the Itunes entirely and empty the recycle bin, restart the comp, install itunes once again, load all your purchased apps/music/etc.. Authorize the computer, Sync the Iphone and YAY!!!! It works!!!!

  • ITunes 11.1.2 will not finish syncing

    I'm sure there's already a thread for this, but has anyone been able to get a message to Apple's iTunes programming directorate that the latest version of iTunes for Windows (11.1.2) is bug-ridden? Specifically, whether I'm syncing my iPhone 5s or my iPad 3rd Gen., the sycing process hangs at the last step, when process the window at the top of my iTunes screen says "finishing sync." The only think I can do is to hit the eject button and then reconnect it. This bug doesn't seem to be doing anything destructive to the devices, but it is a pain in the butt. I hope Apple releases a fix soon, and I hope there's no file corruption happening that the end user is unaware of.

  • Will not finish syncing with IPhone

    IPhone has 4.1 and just updated to ITunes 10.0.1 yesterday. It appears to be trying to sync, but it is will not go past step 1, Backing Up. I can still move around in ITunes, but it will lock up if I try to quit or stop syncing. It has been trying to sync for about 2 hours so far.

    after updating itunes, went to sync my ipad and it gets to the last sync and just stalls, will not end by itself.

    I am not sure what stage of syncing you are experiencing this issue.  However, it sounds like you may be experiencing this issue when syncing photos.  If that is the case try the steps in the article below.

  • Having purchase iTunes Match, it will not finish syncing; won't complete process. SOS

    I bought iTunes Match and haven't been able to complete the syncing process over several days. It will go thru the steps 1, then 2 and stalls on 3 (uploading art work and remaining songs.) I have had several serious problems over the past couple of years, twice having lost my musical Playlists. I've had to reconfigure them & neither time are they the exact same -- this means, from my conbination of internet buys & manual downloads, there are years of different kinds of files. Any help offered will be appreciated.

  • My I Pod will not finish sync

    Everytime my I Pod is trying to sync, when it gets to the optimizing photos prtion it will say optimizing 107 of 110 and I get a pop up that says that I Tunes has quit responding and windows has to close the program. What do I need to do?

    Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue.

  • ITouch will not recognize synced photos

    I synced over a few photos, nine in total. Plenty of space to do so. Itunes says they're synced over, but when I click on the photos icon on the iTouch it BRIEFLY flashes the photo album then immeadietly goes to the "no synced photos". No matter how much I turn off or resync. Weirdly enough, if I'm IN the photo's program when I sync the iTouch it comes out of the sync allowing me to view the photos, but if I then leave the photo program & come back it tells me no photos availible.

  • 11.1 will not finish sync

    I've upgraded to 11.1 and have an iPhone 4s running iOS 7.  when attempting to sync, iTunes appears to go through the process but then just hangs at step 5 of 5, it looks like it's working but it's been about an hour now!

    I have this same issue.   I tried a full restore twice.   Nothing fixes it.   I have a 64GB iphone now with 0GB of music.   Way to go, Apple.

    that will happen when u have w jailbroken iphone u can solve this problem with this :
    1- Reboot ur iphone with holding the volume up button .
    2- nw u can sync ur iphone correctly .
    3- after syncing unplug ur iphone then reboot again .

  • Syncing will not finish

    I am trying to sync my phone, newly upgraded to OS 4.2.1, and it will not finish syncing. iTunes states "finishing sync" and phone states "sync in progress" but it never finishes. Finally I just disconnect phone, but each time I connect phone to iTunes it does the same thing.

    If you use CA Antivirus and Windows XP, then it is LIKELY CONFLICTING.
    The solution that I was given that worked for me is:
    Development are currently working on a fix for this issue, in the mean time, the following is a tech support work around which will get you up and running again. This change involves disabling the content filtering component of the firewall.
    1. Click on start and in the RUN box type in devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
    2. In the device manager click on the menu view and click on "show hidden devices".
    3. Now in the device manager list look for "Non Plug n Play drivers" and expand it.
    4. Under non plug n play drivers look for KmxCF and double click on it and in the KmxCF properties window click on the tab driver and change the startup type to "Disable"
    5. close the device manager and restart your computer.
