Hi curliejo,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
In your situation I would recommend the steps in the following article for troubleshooting iTunes. It may be necessary to completely remove and reinstall iTunes in this situation. Be sure to remove all of the components with iTunes in the correct order as outlined in the article before installing fresh.

• HT1926 Trying to download itunes update on my computer windows Xp... Tried 3 times and keep getting an error: invalid signature/will not be installed. HELP

iTunes is downloaded, been using it for years.  I went to download an update and I keep getting an error.Error message is: invalid signature/will not install.
I did try to update manually as instructed however that also came with the same error.
If someone can advise it would be greatly appreciated.
So what is an invalid signature and how to fix it???

I would think the link doesn't work now as we are on version 10.7.
If you go to:
http://support.apple.com/downloads
the latest update for itunes is in the left hand column.  If you follow the rest of the instructions from wiclee/fimeck it should work.
"Select "Save" instead of "Run". Once downloaded, right click the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe and select 'Run as Administrator' to install."  (or use default)

• When i try to delete iTunes from my computer it won't let me. It says the feature im trying to use is on a network that is unavailable. please help!

this problem is really annoying and i dont know what to do.! help please!

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

I have Adobe Photoshop CS4 and have just upgraded my Mac operating system to Yosemite with the newest version of Java 2014 running. When I try to access Photoshop from Bridge or directly open it asks for a Legacy Version of Java 6. As I am a pensioner I cannot afford an upgrade does anyone know of a work-around for this problem?

Hi Daddyfred,
CS4 Photoshop has not been tested on Yosemite. But still you can try the Java 6 update using the below link.

• When I try to upgrade iTunes, on the page

When I try to upgrade iTunes, on the page with the "Meant to be together iPod + iTunes," I press the button, and it just freezes and uses 100% of my CPU. Help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Dell Inspiron 2200   Windows XP   Pentium M

Were you getting that doing the update via Apple Software Update?
If so, try instead updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

• When I try to open iTunes from my PC, I get a message "aps daemon.exe  MSVCR80.dll not found  reinstall"

When I try to open iTunes from my PC, I get a message "aps daemon.exe  MSVCR80.dll not found  reinstall"
I have redownloaded iTunes and still get the same message. It has to do with my Windows Vista in some way? I cannot sync my iPad2, iOS 7.0.4 with my PC.
Can anyone help me? I don't want to lose the thousand and one things I've bought.

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
If you still have the same error messages cropping up, then try the procedures from the following user tip:

i have a ipod version 1.1.5(4b1) when i try to access itunes from the ipod it says cannot connect to itune store

Hello dawn2020,
I would suggest this article named Can't connect to the iTunes Store found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368.
Troubleshooting on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking on Check for Update in your device's Summary page in iTunes.
Check and verify that you are in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you are on a 3G capable device, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to 3G, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Check to make sure you have an active internet connection. You can check the User Guide for your device for help with connecting to the internet.
Check to make sure other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router
If the issue persists, see troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections.
Note: All iPhone, and iPod touch models support 802.11b/g Wi-Fi networks. In addition, iPhone 4, and iPod touch (4th generation) support 802.11n Wi-Fi networks (2.4 GHz only).
And if needed there is a more advance troubleshooting article named

• When trying to install update 10.5 it says the download has invalid signature and won't install. I run XP

when trying to install update 10.5 it says the download has invalid signature and won't install. I run XP

I'm having similar problems with 10.5. I managed to install it but when I try to run itunes it doesn't open correctly and when I view my account the screen is not presented in the correct format. When I try to search for music it finds nothing. So I ran the diagnostics option but this came back with an error ' secure link to itunes failed'. It also said that the internet connection was verified but when I went into the help option it said I wasn't connected to the internet but as you can see I was and am. I've now uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, each time I uninstall I've followed the correct sequence as recommended:-
1. Itunes
2. Quicktime
3. Apple software update
4. Apple mobile device support
5. Bonjour
6. Apple application support
I've noticed now that 'quicktime' didn't get reinstalled, not sure if that's the problem. Also when I rebooted after the last Uninstall I received a new error message ' Applesyncnotifier.exe - unable to locate component'. I've also noticed that my CPU is running at 50% according to task manager when I've got apple loaded, but it goes down to less than 20% when it's uninstalled and even goes down to 0%. Clearly, there are a number of people with similar issues and Apple need to sort it quickly.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.

Hello Deb,
Something fishy going on with those particular files. But without looking at them directly I couldn't say what. Usually in a case like this the problem is some of the metadata that is attached to the file. Where did these files come from? A camera, a scanner, the internet?
An explanation about the Watched Folder function: It looks for changes to a folder, not just automatically grabbing whatever files are in it. Generally, you want to select an empty folder as a Watch Folder. Once this has been set up, as you add files to this folder they will be imported into the Organizer. If you start with a folder full of images, those will be ignored, any new items will be added.

• "iTunes" signature is invalid software will not be installed

When I start iTunes on my WIndows XP Pro system and check for updates, I get all the way through the download then get a message saying that the software signature is invalid and will not be installed.
What is the problem?  How do I fix it so that I can upload current iTunes software on my windows-based PC?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See
* Troubleshooting extensions and themes

After decades, I finally gave up on Microsoft and bought a MacBook Pro. However, for work, I still have to use Microsoft. When I try to edit a Word Document in any way a screen pops up saying Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close; gives me an option to recover my work and restart Word; when I click that option Word restarts but I alway lose my work. This just started; before it was working fine. Help?

Are you certain about that? There are many alternatives to Office today. Consider
LibreOffice (donation-supported)
NeoOffice ($10 but older version is free)
OpenOffice (completely free)
In addition to the above I also recommend Apple's Pages ($19.99). All of these options allow you to open, edit, and save Word-formatted documents and spreadsheets. I use OpenOffice and Pages and have been completely Microsoft - free for over a year now. Life is better without Microsoft.

• My pc locks up when I try to upgrade itunes software

I can't remember what itunes version I was on (I think it was 6 something) and it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to the newest version. I agreed to upgrade and it started downloading the upgrade, but it locked up my pc when it was copying the install file to my pc. I tried this twice but it locked up my pc each time. So I uninstalled itunes and tried up download itunes again and again it locked up my pc during the copy. Any suggestions on how to get this installed without my pc locking up? I have Windows XP professional 2002 service pack 3 on my pc
Thanks!
