Runtime Audit Browser - Step Type

Hi,
Why are not all Steps shown in the Runtime Audit Browser.
Sometimes only Aggegator shows up, and at other times something else shows up.
Can somebody expllain this behaviour.

You want detail about data?
It depends on the role you've selected when entering audit browser. If you want data detail, you should choose the QA User role.
I don't know if it's possible to configure the operator you want to have more detail about it. Have you tried altering the default audit level for this mapping?
For info about the runtime audit browser, read the "Viewing Runtime Repository Reports" section in OWB User Guide.

  • Error (access denied) when starting Client Runtime Audit Browser

    LS,
After starting the OC4J instance, I try to start the Client Runtime Audit Browser. For a brief moment I see a DOS-box, then an IE-page appears saying the following:
    ======================================================
    ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved
While trying to retrieve the URL: http://127.0.0.1:8999/owbb/RABLogin.uix

    ======================================================
Any idea whether this is a local problem?
I've tried applying the settings as mentioned in the configuration guide, but the Bypass option for the proxy is impossible to set since we do not use a proxy server.
    Your thoughts?
    Regards, Patrick

    Good morning All,
Maybe I've got the wrong idea of what is all needed to be able to run the RAB locally, but I thought that starting the OC4J instance would be sufficient to get started.
In the Installation and Configuration Guide the following is mentioned:
2.7 Step 6. Configure the Web Browser for Design and Runtime Audit Browsers
2.7.1 Add "LOCALHOST" to Your Web Browser Proxy Server Bypass List
2.7.2 Configure the Cache Management in Your Web Browser
2.7.3 Configure Warehouse Builder with a Net Service Name
    As said before:
@2.7.1, we do not use a proxy (according to Internet Explorer settings) therefore I can't add 'localhost' to the bypass-list, but then again I think that it does not need to be, since there is nothing to be bypassed in the first place.
    2.7.2 has been implemented.
@2.7.3, I added the net service name manually to TNSNAMES.ORA (since I also needed that to be able to get on to the database using TOAD and SQL*Plus).
We do not have 9iAS integration for RAB, nor do we have OEM integration.
Are there other things that need to be implemented? Mentioned so far have been HTTP-server and RTP services, but paragraph 2.7 does not mention anything about this. Maybe there are certain services that need to be running on the server (like HTTP and/or RTP), even though I would like to run the RAB locally?
Where does one actually need RTP for?
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers, Patrick

  • OWB Runtime Audit Browser

    Hi,
I am not not able to open the Runtime Audit Browser.
Before doing the above steps ,i configured the Internet Explorer Browser as per the installation Configuration Guide documentation.I did the following settings.
    I. To add "localhost" to your Internet Explorer proxy server bypass list:
         1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
         2. In the Connections tab, click LAN Settings.
         3. Check the Bypass proxy server for local addresses option.
         4. Click OK.
II. Configure the Cache Management in Your Web Browser
We must set the cache management on your Web browser for any client you use to
access the Design and Runtime Audit Browsers.
To configure the cache management in Internet Explorer:
    1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
    2. In the General tab, in the Temporary Internet files section, click Settings.
    3. For the Check for newer versions of stored pages option, select Every visit to
    the page.
    4. Click OK.
    3. Configured Warehouse Builder with a Net Service Name
I did start the Runtime OC4Z instance before opening the Runtime Audit Browser. It is opening the empty page.
I am getting the following error in OC4Z instance:
Error starting the HTTP-server:network subsystem failed:JVM_Bind.
    Thanks for your help.
    Vinay

If you are running everything locally, you should have to start the OC4J instance from the OWB menu and run the RAB from the same menu. In the RAB login page you should enter the runtime repository user name and password, the machine name where you are running the DB, the DB port number and the db instance name. It should work without problems.
What version are you using and what is your configuration (do you run everything on your PC?).

  • Problems with the OWB Runtime Audit Browser

I executed some mappings in my project…
I go to the Client Browser Version of the OWB Runtime Audit Browser (before I Started OWB OC4J Instance).
I specified the Runtime Repository connection information and click in View
Deployment Report or View Execution Report, but, when I access to the Runtime Repository I don’t see any data in the web page.
I probed with differents filters but I didn’t see data!!!
    What is the problem?

    Hi Mark,
Yes, I am sorry, I wanted to say 'I do not see any data'…, but when I connect (using the access user credentials and the QA User role or any other role), and click 'view execution report' I do not see any data!!!! I don’t have any data in the table (Only the name of the repository), I drill down to the details of the execution but I do not see any data!!!
In the Filter Options section are the mappings in a combobox (Execution Filter) but I do not see any data about its!!!
Besides, for example If I execute the query in SQL PLUS: select * from ALL_RT_AUDIT_MAP_RUN_ERRORS.
    It has 581 rows…
    What happens?
Why I don’t see any data?
    Thanks!

  • OWB Runtime Audit Browser has no respond

    Hi All,
After I started the "Start OWB OC4J Instance" and at the console, it shown:
    Oracle9iAS(9.0.2.0.0) Containers for J2EE initialized.
Then I start the "OWB Runtime Audit Browser", and saw the Warehouse builder browser , Runtime Repository Report Web page prompt up. It then don't show any respond, whatever I input to the login information and click view report buttons. Does anything that I must set in order to make it work? and how could I turn the verbose of OC4J Apps on, to view more debug message?
background information : I already could run mapping and process flow at my enviornment.
    Thx for your kindly help.

Provide the following information in the Design Client login page:
HTTP Server Host PORT (default 7778, use 80 for older version of Oracle HTTP)
DAD (Name of the OWB Repository you want to browse. The repository should be set up properly. The web page will then be redirected accordingly. You will need to provide the OWB Repository name and password (this is NOT your OWB login user name and password).

  • Runtime audit browser shows the status busy for the cancelled OWB jobs

    Hi ,
I canceled long running OWB job.But the runtime audit browser was showing the status as BUSY.
I observed the the oracle session (SID:48) was running and killed the session.
After killing the session, the status in runtime audit browser changed to COMPLETED.
Till that time i was with an impression that "if we cancel a OWB job then it will kill all the sessions/process that initiated".
Could please tell me why this is happening?
    Anything wrong with my configuration?
    Appreciate early response.
    Thanks,
    Naidu

    Hi Naidu
Yes you are absolutely right. When you press the cancel button in the GUI, the runtime repository does not get the signal that he is been asked to stop and abort. The GUI cancels himself but the background oracle process is still on !!!. The only way to do is to kill the oracle session. Another way I tried to tackle is
go to the directiry OWB/10.1/owb/rtp/sql and run the file @list_request.sql in sqlplus. Note that you have to login as runtime repositiry owner. After you get the audit id, run the file abort_exec_request.sql and supply the audit id that you obtained by running list_requests.sql. Sometimes it does not work also . Hence the best method is to kill the process

  • Runtime audit browser

    Hello,
I want to delete runtime audit browser data. How to do that? One way is once we revome that repository and recreate then audit data will go. But here I don't to remove repository. If somebody knows please explain how to remove runtime audit browser data.
    Thanks
    Santi

I used following SQL query to clean up the audit information. But still doen't clean up all the audit info. Any idea why it can't clean up everything?
    BEGIN
FOR purge_ids in (select distinct EXECUTION_AUDIT_ID id
    from rep_owner.ALL_RT_AUDIT_EXECUTIONS
    where updated_on < to_date('09/14/2007', 'MM/DD/YYYY')
    LOOP
    dbms_output.put_line('Purging ID: '|| purge_ids.id);
    rep_owner.wb_rt_api_purge.purge_execution(purge_ids.id);
    END LOOP;
    END;

  • Process flow execute "complete" in Runtime Audit Browser but it hangs

I create a process flow that contain 4 sub-process flow, each sub-process flow contains several mapping. Each mapping in the process flow will be executed one by one if previous mapping execute successfully. If any error or warning, it will be ended with "End_Error" or "End_Warning". And I deploy the process flow to the workflow server successfully.
Sometimes the process will hang in some certain mapping when execute the process flow. After long time waiting, the status of process flow execution in Audit Browser will be "Complete", but in fact, the sub-porcess ended with that mapping and the next mappings will not be execute. This can be monitored in the Audit browser, as if the whole process "break" at that mapping.
In workflow monitor, I found the workflow has not complete yet. The status of that mapping node is "Notified", not "complete". So I have to abort the workflow in the monitor.
Sometimes when I try again it will be ok. If I deploy the process to another instance that in dw instance, it will also be ok. The dw instance use owb recommend parameters when we install db instance. All the mapping use the default parameters except "Default operation mode", here we use "row based".
Can somebody give me some hint?
    Thanks.

  • OWB 9.2 Runtime Audit Browser

    Hi
In OWB 9.0x we are able to categorise maps into what runtime audit viewer called jobs. I can't seem to do the same in 9.2. I have set the Default Pruge Group accordingly but that made no difference in the browser. Can't see what this is used for.

    Any ideas?

When a Process or Map is executed, the user may specify a 'job' name (otherwise it defaults to the Process or Map name). The RAB "Execution Schedule Report" displays all Process and Map execution details found in the runtime audit tables. Audit details, including the 'job' name, are listed in reverse chronological order(i.e. most recent first);filter options are available to restrict the amount of audit data shown. One of these filters allows the user to select by 'job' name, which they specified. The RAB does not use the 'purge group' setting.

  • OWB 10.1.0.4: Query generated by Runtime Audit Browser

    Dear all,
In our OWB 10.1.0.4 project we created a process flow which runs every night. This process flow executes some mappings and some PL/SQL procedures, defined as transformation procedures in the OWB project. In the RAB the execution of all the objects in the process flow is logged, including the start and end time.
However, as we all know, opening the RAB is a bit of a hassle. Starting the OC4J, waiting for the browser to connect to the Runtime Repository... Moreover, we would like to make a report about the staging process.
That is why I need to have this information in the database. The Runtime Repository should contain all the data I need.
The thing I cannot seem to find is some audit data of our transformation procedures. In the Runtime Repository view ALL_RT_AUDIT_EXECUTIONS does not contain data of these procedures. The view WB_RTV_AUDIT_EXECUTIONS does, but there is no information about the start and end time.
Since the RAB shows me the start and end time of each executed object (mappings and procedures), I would guess this information is available in the Runtime Repository.
All in all, can anyone answer one of the following questions:
    1. What is the complete query that the RAB executes when clicking on 'View Execution Report'?
    2. Which object in the Runtime Repository contains audit information of the executed transformation procedures?
    Thanks
    Paul

But how did you identify that there are no runtime records in all_rt_audit_executions for your PL/SQL procedure?
I guess you tried to search by procedure name... (but what column you used for searching)
In my case all_rt_audit_executions and wb_rtv_audit_executions contains the same number of records, so they should be always in sync.

  • What has caused "data error count"  under execution detail on Audit browser

    Hi,
I have a simple mapping that load data from external table to target fact table. From OWB Runtime Audit browser, the Execution Details page show the status= Complete + <Red error sign>. And the value under Data error count is 2563. Where can I look for information about what has caused this errors or what the data error are? The SQL*Loader log file looks OK and no bad file generated. And I don't see suspecious under WB_RT_AUDIT*, WB_RT_ERROR tables It's owb9ir2 on 9iDB Thanks.

Solved. I set the audit level to the highest and re-executed and can see the error msg now. It would be nice if audit broser can show the report for all the rejected rows.

  • Activity step type picks wrong agent during runtime.

    Dear All,
I created two activity step types. Both these should pick two different agents at run time from ztable.
First activity step type picks the right agent. The second activity step type should pick another agent.Instead it picks the same agent as picked for the first activity step type.
I use two different workflow containers to pass values to rule containers.
Following is the binding sequence between workflow to rule container and vice-versa for first step type.
    &WERKS&    -->      &WERKS&
    &AAGENT&  <--      &_RULE_RESULT&
Following is the binding sequence between workflow to rule container and vice-versa for first step type.
    &WERKS1&    -->      &WERKS1&
    &AAGENT&  <--      &_RULE_RESULT&
Both these rules fetches the right agent at PFAC when simulating the rule resolution.
Only the second rule returns the wrong agent who is the approver for the first activity step type.
Please suggest if I am any where wrong for which I will be grateful.
    Thanks and regards,

    Dear Pavan Bhamidipati,
Thank you so much for your reply.
My scenario is whenever a purchase order is created for a particular plant,it should go for a two level approval. These two agents will be selected during run time from ztable.
For example, if purchase order is created for plant 1000,it will go for a two level approval to a set of agents. If purchase order is created for plant 3000,it will go to another set of agents for two level approval etc.
The rule I have created fetches the right agent. But when I intetrgrate it with workflow, I get the correct first agent for first level approval. On the other hand, for the next level approval, again I get the same first agent incorrectly.Instead I should get another different agent for second level approval.
Following is the code I use now::
    FUNCTION ZWF_TST_RULE7.
    ""Local Interface:
    *"  TABLES
    *"      ACTOR_TAB STRUCTURE  SWHACTOR
    *"      AC_CONTAINER STRUCTURE  SWCONT
    *"  EXCEPTIONS
    *"      NOBODY_FOUND
      INCLUDE <CNTN01>.
    DATA :   agent2 like Zworkflow1-agent2,
             werks like zworkflow1-werks,
             werks1 like zworkflow1-werks,
             lines TYPE i.
    swc_get_element ac_container 'werks1' werks1.
    select single agent2 from zworkflow1 into (agent2) where werks = werks1.
      ACTOR_TAB-OTYPE = 'US'.
      ACTOR_TAB-OBJID = agent2.
      APPEND ACTOR_TAB.
        DESCRIBE TABLE actor_tab LINES lines.
        IF lines IS INITIAL.
          RAISE nobody_found.
        ENDIF.
My ztable has 5 columns namely MANDT,SNO,AGENT1,AGENT2 and WERKS.
Correct me if I am any where wrong for which I will be greateful.
    Thanks and regards,
    S.Suresh

  • How do I make Step Types in the Type palette be "master" versions which all sequence files on a particular should use? (since this only seems to "half work")

The situation I would like is to have a library of step types which sequence developers can use. Therefore if new step types need to be added, or existing ones modified - all that needs to be done is to roll out a new MyTypes.ini (for example), and the code modules/substeps.
    Scenarios:
If I create types in MyTypes.ini (make sure "Attach to this file" is checked, so they get saved here). I can then create a sequence file using these step types. No problem so far.
I can open the type palette, modify the step properties, and save. When I go back to my sequence file an asterisk appears (saying it needs to be saved, even if I have opened it from scratch). The properties have been updated to reflect what is in the Type Palette. Still no problem (Type versions are the same in the sequence file and type palette).
This is where the problem appears:
If I change a step type (in the Type Palette) from using a code module to using a Post-Step substep instead (changing the module adaptor to "None") - any instances do NOT update when you open sequence files. (The same happens vice versa also).
Please note that the "Type version" listed in the sequence file DOES match that listed in the Type Palette - the properties are the same but the manner in which the code modules are called is DIFFERENT! This then can lead to to runtime errors if the old code module has been deleted for example.
The only way around this is to open EVERY sequence file that contains an instance of the step type, and make sure that you have "Apply changes to all loaded instances of this type" checked in the step type properties dialog. This is is not a good solution since files could be missed, and is very time consuming if you have hundreds of sequence files!
What I need is that the Type Palette on any particular station contains the MASTER copies of each type. These are loaded whenever a sequence file is loaded and NOT retreived from the sequence file. As discussed above this seems to work when you modify properties - but doesnt work fine if you change the way in which code modules are called.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation?

I had a system recently containing seven sequence files, approx 20 subsequences in each, and around 10-20 steps in each sub-sequence. Every step (except for the NI non-code module types) was an instance of a step type.
Each one of these steps had an Edit sub-step and a code module called through the code module adapter.
In order to make these into "wrapped up" step types it was decided to move the code module to a Post-Step substep (as also done in the NI-IVI step types) - so that developers cannot fiddle with the code prototype or module.
In order to do this I had to open all 7 of the sequence files, make the changes and then ensure that "Apply changes in this dialog to a loaded instances" was checked. This seems to sort of work, but some steps started causing Error 17502 (System Error) when you configure them (call the Edit substep). Over the course of the past few months I have had to effectively check every instance of a type to see if it works (deleting the step and replacing it when it doesnt). Other strange things happened like some of the step type instances now have the "None" (adapter) icon associated with them - but both still work.
The idea of creating a type-def of a step type is a good one, but frustrating that it doesnt seem to fully work. Why should the sequence file also store a version of the step-type - which is what is effectively causing this problem - why not make it so that if you dont have the step types installed in the type palette - TOUGH! • Why do I get error -17500 when calling a batch file using the call executable step type?

I am calling a batch file using the call executable step type. If the path to the batch file contains a space I get error -17500 and a message stating there was an error in "Post". For example the path to the batch file is "c:\TestWin\Test Files\...\Program.bat" When I run this I get the above mentioned error, however if I change my directory structure so the path is now "c:\TestWin\TestFiles\...\Program.bat" it runs fine. I use the browse feature to find my batch file so it is not me typing in a path incorrectly. I have removed the batch file and I get a different error stating that it couldn't find the file so it appears that for my error it can find the file but can't run it. I am
sure that this has something to do with the fact that batch files are written in DOS but really don't want to resort to changing my directory structure on all my test stations. Is there any way to fix this problem so I can leave a space in my path?

It appears I have figured it out. This was on another computer so I was unaware of how they used their computer. I like you got it to work in the temp directory and in fact got the program.bat file to work as long as I put it under the temp directory, but when I switched out to my TestWin directory it wouldn't work, so I removed everything from the directory except the batch file it self and it work. What I found out after adding files in one at a time is that the person had a file called "Test" with no file extension in there "c:\TestWin\" directory. Removing this file made it work. Putting the file back broke it. So it appeares that when teststand was running it followed the path saw a space and attempted to grab the "Test" file instead of bro
wsing into the "Test Files" directory. If you create a file in your temp directory called "temp" with no file extension you will see the same problem. Thank you for your help.
