Runtime error crash in IE

I get a runtime error crash every time I try to open a pdf in IE. I am using Reader X. Anybody have solutions?

What version of Reader X are you using? What OS? If you upgrade your Reader to X.1.3 you might find the problem dissappears (however, upgrading does not work for everyone).

  • PDF-maker causing Word runtime error crash since Acrobat update

Acrobat X updated last week, and the first time I used it it asked me whether to enable the PDF-maker plugin/add-on. I said yes, and ever since, about every second time I open Word I get a runtime error and it crashes. The Acrobat toolbar is not available at this point in Word (2003), and I can't find anywhere to disable the PDF-maker plugin in either Word or Acrobat. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • Encore CS5 Runtime Error & crashes - HELP!

    Hi everyone
I have installed Encore CS5 with Premiere Pro CS5 and used it to successfully burn a DVD. Today however, when I complete the New Project tab with the name & location/project settings and click OK, there is a pause of about 3 seconds and then a pop up box:
    Runtime Error! Program: C:\...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in am unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I have looked through the forums etc and the only possible solution was to turn off DLA, but i cannot see how to do this in Windows 7.
If anyone can help I would be most greatful, I don't see why I was able to burn a DVD without this problem last time.
    Thanks!

I know this is an old thread, but I've been getting this recently and managed to find a solution.
Just for future reference this what I did, though not sure exactly which fixed it!..
    I uninstalled Encore CS5
I also uninstalled some software related to the LG Bluray writer I had installed:
    Cyberlink Power2Go
    Cyberlink PowerStarter
    Cyberlink LabelPrint
    Cyberlink PowerProducer.
2 other programs I uninstalled: (less likely to cause a problem, but I was not using them)
    Google Earth
    ArcScan stitch-delux
    Reboot
    Use CCleaner to clean registry.
    Disconnect internet
    Disable Mcafee virus scan
Reinstall Encore CS5... then it all seemed to work ok, could create new projects etc.
My PC is running Windows 7 32bit. The LG writer is a BH10LS30

  • InDesign CS5.5 Problem - Crash during PDF export (Runtime Error)

    Hello,
I'm working with Adobe CS5.5 and have a problem with the PDF-export of some of my projects.
The problematic projects are rather big (44-124 pages) with lots of pictures.
The error I get during export is:
[Headline:] Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information
The program is not specified in the error.
Export works fine for these files on my collegues computer with the same settings (hardware and software are almost a match).
Microsoft Runtime Library was completely reinstalled without solving the problem.
Any suggestions how to solve this problem?
    Thank you very much

  • Labview 2012 Runtime Application Crash: Access Violation Error

    hi All,
my rather large app that I been develping over teh last few years has recently been crashing.
I do not know if it is since I began compiling it in LV2012 SP1 that the problem occurred or I have some programming error
    that I cannot track down.
It use to run with uptimes over months, even with some memory leaks.
If I monitor using Task Manager there is no decernable increase in memory usage.
It crashes on two different systems - both running Windows XP.
The developer version running in LabVIEW 2012 f5 ( Windows XP ) does not crash. Only the runtime version crashes.
It also crashes either if the program sits idle for a few days - 5 or so ( memeory footprint stable ), or if it is used extensively to actively gather and control several instruements ( memory increase matches data size increase )
It does call several external API via ActiveX to spawn off processes, however from the lvlog.txt it seems the crashing is a simple open file that uses the NI supplied String to Config.vi.
I have double/triple check my code and I close any refernces open by the calling vi.
I am sure how to read teh mini-dump files so if someone can look at these it would be apreciated
    thanks
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
It's tough to tell what's going on, especially since it seems like you've really covered your bases!  I'm curious about the fact that you don't see the crashes in LabVIEW (LV), just in the Run-Time Engine (RTE).  Have you ever tried running it in LV for an extended period of time?
Also, do you have any loops in your program?  Perhaps shrinking any waits that might be present and allowing your program to run faster would decrease the amount of time to see these errors from days to shorter.
In the future, when you get a dump file, submit it to our R&D department.  It then pops up on a website that allows me to read them.  I can also use win debug but that will take me a bit, so I'll have to get back to you on that.
Also, if you could take a picture of the error, that would help as well.

  • Runtime error 4605 and word application crashing

    Hello Everyone,
I wrote a script to add TAGs as comments of word document. The criteria of adding tag is based on outline numbering as document do not follow word styles, I had to use outline numbering for this purpose.
There are couple of issues I am facing.
1.) script is very slow and sometimes my word application crashes.
    2.) sometimes I get a runtime error 4605 'This command is not available' for line "Selection.Comments.Add Range:=Para.Range, text:="[" & sIdLabel & sCurrentNumber & "]" & vbCrLf  ' ID‘}"
    Here is my updated code
'script to insert TAGs as comment based on word document outline.
' The format of TAG is provided by user and also the step by which TAG number need to be incremented
    Public Sub CreateOutline()
    Dim sIdLabel As String
    Dim sCurrentNumber As String
    Dim sStepNumber As String
    Dim Para As Paragraph
    Application.Templates.LoadBuildingBlocks
'get the TAG format from user.
    sIdLabel = InputBox("Provide the TAG ID", "TS_FS_")
    sCurrentNumber = InputBox("Provide the Current number", "001")
'get the step by which the TAG number is to be incremented everytime.
    sStepNumber = InputBox("Provide the step", "1")
    For Each Para In ActiveDocument.Paragraphs
    If Para.Range.ListParagraphs.Count = 1 Then
    Para.Range.Select
    Selection.Move wdParagraph, 1
    Selection.Comments.Add Range:=Para.Range, text:="[" & sIdLabel & sCurrentNumber & "]" & vbCrLf ' ID‘}
    sCurrentNumber = Format(Val(sCurrentNumber) + Val(sStepNumber), String(Len(sCurrentNumber), "0"))
    End If
    Next Para
    End Sub

    Hi Ashishk15,
Since you were not able to reproduce the error every time, I suspect this issue maybe relative to the context of document you were handling.
I am also trying to reproduce this issue in Word 2013 however failed. The code works well for me like figure below:
    >>2.) sometimes I get a runtime error 4605 'This command is not available' for line "Selection.Comments.Add Range:=Para.Range, text:="[" & sIdLabel & sCurrentNumber & "]" & vbCrLf  ' ID‘}"<<
What's version of Word are you using and the exact error message? Can you add the comment manually? If yes, would you mind sharing with us a reproducible document to help us narrow down this issue.

  • RoboHelp 7 Crash - MS Visual C Runtime Error

I have been using RH7 for many months. Today, I was using Single Source Layout > Printed Documentation > Properties. And it crashes without doing any more than looking at the dialogue; sometimes when setting the location for the output.
I get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library "Runtime Error" - RoboHTML.exe ... "The app has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
This has now happened 3 times in a row.  On one occasion I was warned of a corrupted $StylePrepFile.htm, which I deleted and tried again.
I have rebooted; I have run Norton SystemWorks diagnostics to repair system errors. But it's still doing it.
I have tried deleting the CPD file, but it still crashes on this project. When I click on the OK button in the error message dialogue, RH disappears instantly. But you cannot re-open RH and then open the project again because it tells me it is locked by another instance of RH. I looked in Task Manager, and RoboHtml.exe is still loaded. I have to delete it here before I can reopen it and load the project.
A thought: I have been trying RH8 in Trial mode, and decided not to upgrade just yet; so I uninstalled it. Would this cause problems with RH7? If so, how do I fix it?
    Any ideas anyone?

Thank you for your suggestion, Peter. I tried it and this is what happened.
I had trouble with two separate printed doc layouts. So I loaded a recent backup copy of the project, and tried adding a new Print layout. I used the same conditional build tags. I built the output, which went through its normal slow processing, and then, at the end, I got an error message like this:
The Output View showed a long log of the build:

As you see, this is full of Warnings - I think it reports every topic as Malformed.
The final output is a word doc that fails to load when I double-click on the filename.
If I load MS Word 2003 and load the file, it disables Word such that where the document should view, the area is white all over and the scroll bars are disabled. I can switch between Normal View, Print view etc, but all look the same white area.
If I load a "good" word document, the same problem - all white and no text. Something has gone badly wrong. See short movie:
RH7 does not offer the option of a repair, so I would have to uninstall and reinstall.
This is an important Help project, so I've got to fix it somehow...
    Any idea, anyone?

  • Reader X crashes after launching with Visual C++ Runtime Error on Win7

Reader X (10.1.2) just crashes shortly after launching. An error message box appears saying "Visual C++ Runtime Error". Not able to view any document! Please see the attached image for details.

Could you please try the following and see if they help resolve the issue:
    1. Are you performing any specific operation which causes this error on your system? Or does it happen even if you just launch the application (without opening any PDF)?
    2. Please let me know the Antivirus software installed on your system.
Try and temporarily disable the antivirus on your system and launch Adobe Reader. Does it still crash?
    3. How did you update to Reader 10.1.2? Was it via the updater mechanism? Or was it done by downloading the installer from the adobe website?
If it was done via the updater (ARM) mechanism, could you let me know, if you launched Reader whilst the installation was in progress?
    4. Could you try and repair the installation from within the Control Panel > Programs and Features.
    Thanks

  • Download PDF, Runtime Error & LabVIEW Crash

    Hello
I create a VI to download a PDF file with an HTTP request (using WebBrowser). This VI is used in a TestStand application. When it's working, the following Internet Explorer window opens suggesting to Open/Download/Cancel a pdf file. I used this solution because the TestStand execution doesn't stay blocked on this VI until the user make a choice (Open/Download/Cancel) (the execution must continue to next steps without waiting for a user action).
    When it's working fine :
The problem is that sometimes (executing with labview or teststand) a runtime error or a labview crash (or both) occurs :
    Examples of errors :
Here I put the block diagram of the VI (the left part enable to build the url) :
Have you any idea of what cause this error ?
Or have an other solution to process this operation (a solution where the PDF file is automatically openned would be better !).
    Thanks for your help !

You can open a PDF within LabVIEW using this VI:

  • Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro crashes at start up: Runtime Error-please help

I have Adobe CS4 installed on my Windows 7 PC. In addition, I have Adobe Reader XI and InDesign 6 installed. If I remember correctly, after I installed Adobe Reader XI, I uninstalled the version of the Reader which came with CS4.
So here’s my problem: When I try to download a PDF that has been sent to me in an email or open one that already exists on my computer, this happens:
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C…
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
When I click OK, I get this:
Adobe Acrobat 9.0 has stopped working.
If I try to Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro from my start menu, the same thing happens.
This makes no sense to me because
I don’t have the knowledge to figure this out. I have no idea what Runtime is.
Prior to a computer meltdown a couple of months ago and a complete reinstallation of everything, these very same programs all worked just fine.
I don’t understand why, when I try to open an emailed PDF, they don’t automatically open in Adobe Reader XI rather than Adobe Acrobat. Isn’t the general idea that people be able to open and view sent PDFs which they have been sent, which is what the Reader is for, and not usually edit them, which is what Adobe Acrobat is for?
If, instead of trying to open the emailed PDFs, I save them to my computer, I can launch Adobe Reader XI and open them from within that program without any problem. That’s OK if I just need to view the PDF, but I need to be able to edit PDFs too, so I must get Adobe Acrobat 9.0 to work.
Would reinstalling Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro help? Is there a way to reinstall that program only from the installation disks or would have to reinstall CS4 entirely?
I cannot open Adobe Acrobat 9.0 at all, so any solutions which must be done with the program open are not possible.
I would really appreciate some help.

    SOLVED!
Resetting Internet Explorer didn't work, Reinstalling Acrobat 9.0 Pro didn't work, but changing a registry key did.
Here's where I found the solution:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error opening PDF files - Microsoft Community
Here is the relevant post, but before you try it, read my note below:
    Hi,
This is known issue with Acrobat for several versions now, Adobe's current fix is just to update their software: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404597.html
The problem is with the application data being misdirected.
"The affected user has a redirected Application Data folder and as a result the network path containing the Application Data uses a UNC path that begins with \\. This UNC path causes Acrobat 9.0 or Adobe Reader 9.0 to incorrectly parse the Application Data path and give the error message."
A potential Solution would be to go into the registry. Left Click type "regedit" and right click and run the program with "run as administrator". Go to Hkey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell Folders and make sure see where "AppData" is pointing. If it is pointing to "%UserProfile%/Application Data" change it to point to "%UserProfile%/AppData/Roaming".
BUT, be careful about one thing: This poster seems to have accidentally used forward slashes when he should have use back slashes. Look at the very last line of his post where he advises "If it is pointing to "%UserProfile%/Application Data" change it to point to "%UserProfile%/AppData/Roaming". You'll find, or at least I did, that this key has a back slash, not a forward slash, so changing what I found: "%UserProfile%\Application Data" to "%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming" worked and now Acrobat 9.0 works fine.

  • 3.6.13 crashes with a runtime error in firefox.exe, gives an R6034 message.

    popup window after loading Firefox:
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\ProgramFiles\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
    R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.

The R6034 error can be caused by the VideoLAN plugin, but your plugins list doesn't show that plugin.
