  • Runtime error - elements 11

All of sudden when opening the programme I get a runtime error - any ideas?

    Hi,
Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
    Solution 1:
    1. Close Elements.
    2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
    3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
    Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go  to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements  10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain  plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere  else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

  • Runtime error in photoshop9 editor

I do not know how to navigate to C:\ProgramsData\Adobe\PhotoshopElements\9.0\Locale\en\-us\
So i can change the name to MediaDatabase.old
which supposedly will correct my runtime error--

You need to enable the showing of hidden files and folders in the folder options to be able to see the ProgramData files.
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files#show-hidden-files=windows-7
    or
Windows Logo+R (opens run command dialog)
Paste the following in the dialog and press enter
    RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Options_RunDLL 7
Then check Show hidden files, folders and drives

  • Elements 10, Editor runtime error

I get a runtime error when launching editor in Elements 10.  Just started happening.

If you are using Windows 7 then the preference file that needs to be renamed is at this location:
    <C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Editor>
In the above path, replace USERNAME with your windows profile name  which could be something like jblogetc or whatever.  Also the preference file is called: Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Prefs.psp and this needs to be renamed to Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 Prefs.old
Once this done, restart PSE 10 and then see if it works.

  • I have been getting a "Runtime Error" and can't open Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor

We are using Adobe Photoshop Elements version 9.0.3 (20110328.m.11320).  For several weeks it has not been possible to open the Editor, although the Organizer opens as usual.  We get an error message that says "Runtime Error! Program: ...\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 9\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information."  What can we do to correct this problem?

Thanks, Ken!  I have to reply by e-mail, as the Forum site has been down
    for maintenance since last night.
    I am running Windows 7 Professional SP1.
Uninstalling and booting should be straightforward.  I saved the
following files in my Downloads folder from my initial installation of
    Adobe PSE 9.0 on 4/22/11:
    Adobe_Photoshop_Elements_9-AkamaiDLM.exe (355 kb application)
    PhotoshopElements_9_LS15.exe (1,200 kb application)
    PhotoshopElements_9_LS15.7z (1,838,546 kb WinRAR archive)
Will these suffice for reinstalling the program?  Can you tell me how I
should go about the reinstallation?  (I tried to find a page to download
the Adobe PSE 9.0 program on the Adobe website, but could only locate a
patch for 9.0.3, which I think must already have been included in the
    original installation.)
Also, there are four folders, corresponding to four catalogs, in
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs.  Will those survive
the uninstall/reinstall process?  Should I back them up just prior to
uninstalling to preserve them for restoration after the reinstall?
Finally, should I back up the 9.0 and Organizer folders in
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer for restoration as well?  And
    the C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements folder?
Thank you.  I am grateful for your help!

  • Runtime error in Elements 9, editor will not work

I have Windows Vista. The organizer seems to work fine.  But right after a photo opens in editor, a window appears saying:  Microsoft Visual C++,    Runtime Library.  It says Runtime Error!  Program....PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe  This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the applications support team for more information.
A couple days ago the computer shut down unexpectedly (my computer has been doing that alot in the last month, there was also a power outage due to a storm).  I tried restarting the computer, closing and restarting Elements, updating Elements (it did not need it) I also tried restoring the system to a restore point where Elements was working fine and that did not work.
Would really appreciate any help.  Thanks so much.

    Oh, great...an "unknown" faulting module!
There's not a lot to go on, so I can only offer a couple of general troubleshooting suggestions:
Re-set the Editor's Preferences by holding down your Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys when launching the Editor and keep them held down until you see the prompt asking if you want to delete the Preferences.  Answer "Yes" and they will be re-built.  You may have to minimize any open windows in order to see that prompt.
If you have manually enabled the TWAIN interface for scanning, see this Adobe document:

  • Runtime Error causes Elements 11 editor to crash

I've had this happen twice now over the last 10 days. After the first time, I removed the whole program & re-installed from the disc. Its now just happened again and editor will not load & I just get the Runtime Error! notification. As before, I can open Organiser but Editor will not either open directly or from within Organiser.

    Uninstall and reinstall.

  • Why do I keep getting a runtime error in Photoshop Elements 6.0?

I have had Photoshop Elements 6.0 for several years now with no issues at all.  Recently my computer crashed and I bought a new ASUS touchscreen laptop (Q301L model).  I have tried, with no luck, to get Photoshop to work. After a few actions, it will come up with a window that says "Could not complete your request because of a program error" and occasionally it will come up with a "Runtime Error!" notification that says "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.  Please contact the application's support team for more information."
I have searched all the existing forums on this subject and none of the solutions presented have worked.  I have tried: re-installation (5 times now), running as an administrator, deleting the MediaDatabase.db3 file, renaming the MediaDatabase.db3 file to MediaDatabase.old and allowing to rebuild, repairing with the installation disk, troubleshooting and running in compatibility mode, holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift as Editor opens and then deleting preferences, allowing Photoshop through my firewall.  I am out of ideas and I really need this program to work.  Please help!

It might be a bug in the new version of Adobe Reader.  http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;125749
Looking at my system, the path for AcroRd32.exe for Adobe Reader 9.1 is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe.  I don't know if you mistyped your path, but you do not have \Reader\ in it.  If you mouse over the file AcroRd32.exe, it should show you version 9.1.
Did you uninstall the previous version before installing the latest version?  That is the recommended way to do it.  I filled out my Federal Tax forms with Adobe Reader 9.1 without a problem.  This is on Windows XP SP3, fully updated.

  • R6025 Runtime Error when starting Photoshop Elements Organizer 12

I installed Photoshop Elements 12 a couple of weeks ago.  When I run the Photo Editor, everything is fine.  But when I try to run the Organizer, I get the Microsoft Visuall C++ Runtime Library dialog that specifies a Runtime Error! for Program: C:\Program Files (x86)... with error code R6025 - pure virtual function call.
My PC is a 64bit Windows 7 Machine with SP1.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

I tried the first solution listed and that did not help.  Part of the 2nd solution was to create a new user on the PC and uninstall/reinstall the software using the new user account.  I did this and I no longer get the R6025 error.  Now I get a R6034 error when I open the Organizer.
Any ideas on the R6034 error?
