Runtime Error in Restorewiz.exe
Hi -
Can anyone offer a solution for the following error:
Runtime Error!
Program:c:\\Windows\SMINST\RESTOREWIZ.EXE
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
System crashed and I really need to recover my files but I can't seem to find a way around this error.
Thanks much!!!I know this is an old post, and this may not work for everyone, but I wanted to add the solution that allowed me to get past a runtime error that may or may not be related...
I had to run a checkdisk on the entire hard drive (all partitions including recovery). The checkdisk utility is included on most Windows recovery CDs and is a command-line program.
In my case, the hard drive was failing, so I cloned all readable data to a new drive and then could not run the recovery, even though the recovery sector of the hard drive copied with no data loss using Clonezilla.
Using checkdisk, I had to force-repair, which means some data loss and losing some files, but since I was attempting to do a full recovery anyway, it didn't really matter too much.
If anyone has this issue, look up some guides on checkdisk online, my syntax (** which MAY CAUSE DATA LOSS **) was:
*** MAY CAUSE DATA LOSS***
chkdsk /R /F /I D:
chkdsk /R /F /I C:
chkdsk /R /F /I E:
*** MAY CAUSE DATA LOSS***
I had to do one checkdisk for each partition (C: - boot, D: - Windows install, E: - Recovery) of my drive. It took nearly nine hours for the whole drive to complete as many indexes were broken after cloning the bad data to my new drive.
That said, once doing the checkdisk options, I no longer received the C++ runtime error.
I hope this helps someone! -

Runtime Error on Acrobat.exe.
I am using Acrobat Professional version 8 on XP SP3. It had always worked in the past but now, after opening, I get a Runtime error when trying to make a new PDF.
Event Viewer gives:
"Faulting application acrobat.exe, version 8.1.0.137, faulting module adobeupdater.dll, version 5.0.0.316, fault address 0x000475a3."
I have run the Repair in the installer from the original distribution disk to no effect. This was after a system reboot and with nothing else started. The system runs Trend for security, which had not fully started either when I tried to re-run the program. I jave also run repair from the Help menu in the application itself, with a reboot afterward. There have been no significant changes made to the system, except possibly automatic updates, since it was working fine. It even crashes when I try to get the versionn number form the Help-About menu selection.I would suggest going to Help>Repair. Then doing Help>Update to get the updates current. Hopefully that will resolve the problem. When you do a repair from the original CD, you may lose updates.

Runtime error R6034, itunesHelper.exe and the missing library MSVCR80.dll
I made the mistake of upgrading to the new version of itunes and I appeared the following errors:
- Runtime Error R6034 on ituneshelper.exe
- Library MSVCR80.dll not found
- Error 7 (windows error 126)
I tried to install and uninstall as they say apple forums, I researched on my own restoring records, and review it with MicrosoftFixit which is also a solution to the problem but none of the options mentioned above solves the problem. I'm about to format my pc, but I read it in 3 forums that solution does not help. Lords of apple, what's going on with you? Sorry forgot to mention that since I restored settings to my pc that was 1 month ago and nothing happened.
I have windows XP
250 gb hard disk
1 gb RAM
Thanksfirst disable your antivirus (you can re-enable later)
go to start, right click on computer and choose properties - note if you have 64 bit or 32 bit operating system
then make sure all users on the computer are logged off
log into admin user (if yours isn't already one)
then uninstall in this order
itunes
apple software update
apple mobile device support (if it won't go - support.microsoft.com/fixit - skip step 1 and go to step 2 - click install or upgrade software or hardware - then scroll down to the bottom of step 3 and click run now next to Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled - basically tell it you want to manually tell it want you wantto do and then choose to uninstall and choose apple mobile device - if it freezes or stops around the end then just quit it and relaunch control panel and the apple mobile device should be gone)
then continue to remove
bonjour
apple application support
then restart computer
click start - left click on computer - double click on c drive
double click on program files
make sure the itunes, ipod, and bonjour folders are gone - if they aren't select them, then right click and delete
if you are on 64 bit
complete the steps for program files and then also do program files x86
if you had to delete any of those folders manually restart again afterwards
for 32bit os - go to www.apple.com/itunes and download new itunes
for 64bit os - support.apple.com/kb/DL1615 and download the 64bit version of itunes for windows
this will resolve any issues related to the update
NOTE - this will not touch your playlists or media files - your songs are not saved in the itunes application itself those are in a different folder in your music folder -
MS VC++ runtime error - running nimxs.exe suring computer boot
Somehow my labtop starts to fail to run MAX (nimxs.exe) during start up. Message is "Micrsoft Visual C++ runtime error. This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more info". Any idea? Thanks in advance.
mchips,
So you've tried reinstalling your different LabVIEW versions, but have you done the same with the DAQ device drivers? To do this, just go to Start >> Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs and find National Instruments. Click 'Change', and then find the version of the daq driver that you have (depending on the driver version, it should be something like NI-DAQmx, NI-DAQ, or Traditional NI-DAQ). That should completely uninstall the driver. You can then reinstall the driver from a disk, or if you prefer, download the driver you need from our website by going to www.ni.com and clicking on the 'Drivers and Updates' link on the left side. In the Search field, type in the following info:
Product Line: Multifunction DAQ
Software: 'NI-DAQmx' OR 'Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy)' (depending on which you need)
Software Version: <your version>
Operating System: <your OS>
You can also download the latest version of the driver, if you know your card is supported. If you tell me what DAQ card you have and what version of the DAQ driver you are using (DAQmx or Traditional DAQ), I can tell you which is the latest you can use.
Thanks,

Runtime Error! FormDesigner.exe
I keep getting the following error when I try to open ANYTHING in this program.
Runtime error!
ProgramFiles/Adobe/FormDesigner/formdesigner.exe
abnormal program termination
I click okay then get the remainder:
The instruction at "0x0178fab7" referenced memory at "0x02d97014". The memory could not be "written".
I had a similar error that said could not be read. I closed all programs, tried opening again with no luck. I uninstalled, rebooted, shut down everything, reinstalled and am getting the error listed above. I have looked in Microsoft help and Adobe forums and knowledge base and found nothing helpful. I am using Adobe Acrobat 7.0.5. Form Designer installed when acrobat did. Can somebody please tell me what to do to fix this!?
My thanks in advance!
YolandaAdd me to the list. I was fine until I installed the trial version
of Acrobat X. I had been running Acrobat 9.
4 Pro Extended on Windows XP. After removing the trial versi
on, LiveCycle Designer gives
me the Runtime C++ error pointing to FormDesigner
.exe and crashes when I select the PDF Preview tab. I have run the repa
ir/reinstall several times and robooted several times. I guess the lesson is
to leave Adobe trial versions alone.

I'm working everyday with W10TP for Enterprise, Build 9879.
I'm receiving the error in figure randomly, which start a "Microsoft Application Error Reporting" process who start to eat my CPU, as long as the error is repeated, the more my CPU is compromised. The first 3 times, each process ate almost
30% of CPU, after that, the growing processes distributed between them almost 90% of CPU. To work I need to "End Task" for each process from the Task Manager.
Any idea?
Regards!

When I send a report made in reports v.6i from forms v.6i, appear a message:
RWRBE60 cause an error of invalid page in the module RWLIB60.DLL
This occurr when the mode of the report is character and it send to Dot Matrix Printer, selected with the win_api_dialog.select_printer library and sent it via mode and destype parametersorry, I used Mode and DesName parameters (not destype)
I was doing various reports with several parameters and the error appear only when I use 'DESNAME' parameter with the mode character.

Hotsync.exe Runtime Error R6025 on Windows/XP Treo/650
I'm running Windows/XP Home Edition with Palm Desktop ver 4/1/4 and Hotsync ver 6.0.1. I have a Sprint Treo/650 using Hotsync ver 5.4.0 (on the Treo) I recently activated my SprintPCS email account and I'm using VersaMail ver 3.1B When I Hotsync I get an abort message with this text: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Hotsync.exe R6025 - pure virtual function call" The Hotsync log lists: OK Quick Install; OK Adobe Reader; OK VersaMail; OK Media and then indicates: Protocol Error. Hanheld cancelled synchronization (4405). The handheld shows cancellation of Hotsync because the fatal error is already being displayed on the desktop.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Greg
Post relates to: Treo 650 (Sprint)An easy way to reactivate hotsync is to go to Program Files -> Palm -> Hotsync.exe. Create a Hotsync.exe shortcut on your desktop. Click the shortcut and wait for 10 seconds. The hotsync function will come back. May have to do this frequently before fixing the root cause. Spyware software is a possible cause. Check the quarantine folder to see if any "Palm related" files are quarantined. If so, restore them. Hope this can be helpful.
