MS Visual C++ runtime error message, R6034, due to iTunes
Whenever I start my PC or try to open iTunes, I receive the following message: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library, Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe, R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information." After I click OK (the only option), I get this message: "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 1114)." I have iTunes version 11.1.3.8. This just started recently and I have no idea what's going on. Please help!
Do you have any iTunes plug-ins installed in
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application
Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins
Take them out of the folder and try iTunes again.
Hi, MacMuse-
Thanks for replying. I checked, that folder is
blank/there are no plugins. Another thing- I
mentioned I had removed the Yahoo Toolbar- what I
didn't mention was that I installed the Google
toolbar in its place. I removed that and restarted
the computer once again, still no joy.
Wes
I'm getting the same issue; no plugins installed.
I started having this problem about two weeks ago with iTunes 7.2, and tried each of:
* Updating to 7.3: worked for several days, then back to same thing
* Changing Quicktime settings to "safe mode" as described in the "unknown error" article
* Uninstalling Google toolbar
* Uninstalling Google desktop
Still no luck. -
I attempted to perform the itunes update on two different PCs. Itunes will no longer open and prompted me to reinstall itunes. The reinstall did not work after several attempts and I received an error: "Runtime error R6034. An application has made an attempt to load the C Runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information." Has anyone else had this issue? How can I resolve it?
I've been having the same exact problem this morning, and from the looks of it a lot of other people are posting about this issue, so I don't know if it's maybe something wrong with the download but I'm just relieved that it seems to be that instead of a corruption issue with my windows installation. I'm just wondering how long this will take to be resolved.

Just did the iTunes update that iTunes said was available, now iTunes won't open. I just keep getting a Runtime Error message.
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the apps support team for more info.
Is anyone else having this problem?
I tried to re-install and got the following message: iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 1114)
Does this mean I have now lost everything?I just had the same error:
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the apps support team for more info.
I went to http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 and did a complete removal and reinstallation of iTunes. You MUST follow the directions here exactly...it's more than just iTunes that must be removed, and it MUST be done in the order in which the support article says. I followed the exact instructions, and iTunes is back on my machine (no more C runtime error) and you do NOT lose your music...it's all in my library, as it was before.
Good luck! -
After update, Itunes can't load. I get error message R6034, attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
I also get error code 7 (Windows error 1114), saying itunes wasn't installed correctly. It appears that I am not the only one with this issue. what is wrong with the latest update?? I tried removing Itunes and all of its components and installing it again, but get same errors and i have also tried doing a system restore with the same resultsDoublechecking. When I finished backing up my iphone 5 to my hp pavilion laptop I got an error message R6034. Itunes shut down and I have not been able to reinstall it. The error message says an application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. My computer is more than 5 years old and I have never had this problem before. I tried unsuccessfully to reinstall itunes. Any ideas?

iTunes update 11.1.4 produces an error message R6034 "An applicaton has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly" When that error is acknowledged, a second windows error 1114 "error 7" displays "iTunes was not installed correctly". I also tried to downloadiTunes 11.1.4 at th Apple website and that did not work either-It stalled with an erro message that stated the "mobile service" would not open HELP!
Hi Doug! I was having the same problem but after reading a lot of answers I found the solution. First of all you need unistall ALL THE SOFTWARE OF APPLE from your computer, I mean BONJOUR, QUICKTIME, ITUNES, APPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE, APPLE MOBILE DEVICE SUPPORT and the other one that is from compatibility with apps of apple, after that you must verify if this folders are removed if they don't then remove it:
C:\Program Files\Bonjour
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\
C:\Program Files\iTunes\
C:\Program Files\iPod\
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll need to confirm that the following folders have been removed:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\
C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod\
Then if you have ccleaner you can use it to clean all registers left, then reboot and try to install iTunes 11.1.4 again as administrator... That works for me, I hope that helps you too... -
Last night iTunes on my PC tried to run an update. Prior to the update, it was working perfectly. At the end of the update I got an error message R6034, an application has made an attempt to load the C runtime Library incorrectly. Any suggestions? I have also gotten a message that iTunes is not installed correctly, to reinstall. Reinstalling give the the same two errors over and over. Restarting my computer does nt help.

Received notice from Apple to upgrade iTunes with 11.1.4 on my Dell PC running Win 7 Ultra.During upgrade got error message R6034 several tries (app's attempt to load C runtime library incorrectly in Visual C + + runtime library). Apple's suggestion to uninstall iTunes and reinstall with ver. 11.1.4. Tried that, it failed too. Now have no iTunes, think I have lost all saved podcasts and music, and get no help from Apple.
