Runtime error using Migration Workbench 1.2.4.3.0 for MS-Access

Hi
I am having problems migrating an Access 2 database across to Oracle 8i release 8.1.5 on Windows NT SP5 using OMWB 1.2.4.3.0.
During the generation of the source model, the Migration routine halts with the following message :
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program C:\Program Files\Oracle\jre\1.1.7\bin\jrew.exe
Abnormal Program Termination
Can anyone help with this one ? Is it related to DAO, and if so, how do I resolve it ?

Access 2000 databases are not supported. Only 2.0, 95 and 97 are supported. You can downgrade the 2000 database to Access 97 if you are not using any 2000 specific features and then use the Workbench. Note that you must have DAO 3.5 installed on the machine where the Workbench is running.

  • Runtime error after migrating to 7.3

    Hi,
    We have an enterprise portal --> portal application standalone type DC. We have been able to migrate the DCs to 7.3. The problem we are facing currently is that one of the applications does not load in the portal giving a portal runtime error. Looking at the log files, the errors being shown are to do with one specific type of class.
    setClientEvent(com.sapportals.htmlb.enum.EventTrigger,java.lang.String) in com.sapportals.htmlb.EventValidationComponent cannot be applied to (com.sapportals.htmlb.enums.EventTrigger,java.lang.String)
                         CustomerInput.setClientEvent(com.sapportals.htmlb.enums.EventTrigger.ON_KEYDOWN, "onCustomerEnter()");
    The above error shows that at runtime, it is trying to resolve 'com.sapportals.htmlb.enum.EventTrigger' but this class is deprecated in 7.3. The code which we have written has the right package which is com.sapportals.htmlb.enums.EventTrigger.
    I am not sure why it is still trying to resolve with an older version. If I try to change the code and use the 'enum' package instead of 'enums', then the application fails again with the runtime error.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vaishnavi

    Hi Vaishnavi,
    Somewhere in your deploy package or in some referenced one, obviously you have a reference to ...enums...  Might be a problem with updating JARs during build or whatever, in any case, just search for it. Use WinRAR for example, with that you also can search within class files.
    The root cause is obvious, so just search and shoot it
    Hope it helps

    Closing this thread as it was solved. Apparently, there is a java method setClientEventExt() which takes an eventtrigger and an event as inputs.

  • Runtime error using range table in select query

    I have to select tcodes from table tstc, based on the entries in ust12,
    the entries in ust12-von and ust12-bis, these contains wild charcters also,  and i have to selct all the tcodes  from von to bis.
    so ia m preparing a range table for the entries in ust12, and querying table tstc, then i am getting a runtime error with following description.
    'If the problem occurred because an excessively large table was used
    in an IN itab construct, you can use FOR ALL ENTRIES instead.'
    but how can i use FOR ALL ENTRIES here, because if von = A* and bis = AB*,then i ahve to read all the entries from AAAA till ABZZ (may be something like this),
    is there any way to write this query, with out runtime error.
    there are total 15000 entries in ust12, i am preparing range table for 3000 entries each and querying tstc.
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards

    Hi,
    first write a select on ust12 based on ust12-von and ust12-bis.
    eg: select von bis from ust12 into table gt_ust12
                               where von LIKE 'A%'
                                   and bis LIKE 'AB%'.
    now write another select for tstc for all entries in gt_ust12...
    Hope it helps

    Error analysis
    An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
    The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_TYPE', was
    not caught and
    therefore caused a runtime error.
    The reason for the exception is:
    The call to the function module "BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE" is incorrect:
    In the function module interface, you can specify only
    fields of a specific type and length under "ORDER_HEADER_INX".
    Although the currently specified field
    "L_HX" is the correct type, its length is incorrect.

    This occurs when I'm using the capture wizard and specifing which MSACCESS I want.

    I was trying to move on to the next database to convert.
    What do I need to check?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    I figured out the solution.
    Make the project use 1.4.1 and also replace the tools.jar file under %JDEV_INSTALL%\jdk\lib
    In addition to this I have also changed the "SetJavaHome" environment variable in jdev.conf to use JDK 1.4.1
    And everything is working fine and as I wanted.
    FYI:
    Replace tools.jar on OC4J Standalone(I used OC4J 903) with tools.jar of JDK 1.4.1 and then app can be deployed on OC4J as well.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Runtime Error using JDBC Driver in NetBeans IDE 6.9.1

    Hello,
    I receive a compiler error which reads as follows;
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.derby.jdbc.EmbeddedDriver
    java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: Schema 'DEMO' does not exist
    Heres the main body of code i am trying to execute.
    public class Main {
    @param args the command line arguments
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    // TODO code application logic here
    try{
    Class.forName("org.apache.derby.jdbc.EmbeddedDriver");
    }catch(ClassNotFoundException e){
    System.out.println(e);
    try{
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:derby://localhost:1527/SimpleDBDemo", "demo", "demo");
    Statement stmt = con.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("SELECT * FROM DEMO.Table1");
    while (rs.next()) {
    String s = rs.getString("Name");
    float n = rs.getFloat("Age");
    System.out.println(s " " n);
    }catch(SQLException e){
    System.err.println(e);
    I am using NetBeans IDE and have created a database under: Services->Databases-> Java DB->SimpleDBDemo.
    I have a database connection in which theres a simple table (called "TABLE1") created which contains the names and ages of two people. I am trying to access the data of these two people.
    From what i can figure out i am getting a runtime error. I have downloaded a folder called "Microsoft SQL Driver 2005 JDBC Driver" which contains the "sqljdbc.jar" executable file. I copied the jar file to the library in "Program files->Sun->javadb" and then added the file to the project libraries section i.e. "Project->properties->add JAR/Folder->sqljdbc.jar" in netbeans.
    I am still getting the same runtime error. Have i the sqljdbc.jar file added in the wrong place?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Microsoft SQL Driver 2005 JDBC Driver is not the Derby driver.
    You need the correct JDBC driver for the database you are using, you can't simply grab the first one you find.

  • C++ Runtime error using LiveCycle Designer

    I have been using Adobe Pro 9 for some time, my system is running XP Professional and Service Pack 3. Each time I edit a form which I am adding tables to the form crashes with the runtime error.  We had a system upgrade for some unrelated software on the weekend and everything worked fine up to that point.
    I continue to save each time I add a section in the table, I have edited the form 5 times now with the same result. The file ends up being corrupt with 0bytes.
    Can anyone offer advice on this.
    Christine..

    Hi Christine,
    This is a typical problem in LiveCycle Designer ES (8.2). I have faced this issue several times. Though I do not know the actual reason for this. There are many things responsible for this behaviour.
    - Is the form opened for several hours in LiveCycle Designer?
    - Have you made repeated copy paste operation of the fields as well as of the Javascript?
    - Have you saved the form repeatedly for small changes without doing the "Save As" operation?
    - Have you long lines of JavaScript?
    Few Suggestions might Help...
    - Do not open the LiveCycle Designer for longer duration like more than 4 hours. Save changes. Close it and reopen it.
    - Instead of doing the "save" operation do the "Save As" operation. It will also help in reducing the size of the form.
    - Avoid Copy pasting of the fields or JavaScript always. While you do it, if you see the XMl Source you will some designer id would be added exponentially.
    - Use events intelligently.
    Thanks,
    Bibhu.

  • Error using migration assistant and time machine

    Daughter dropped water on our old macbook pro.  Got a new one and trying to restore using backups to our time capsule, but we are receiving this error using the migration assistant: "Make sure that all of your network devices are connected and turned on. It appears that some backups are already in use. If you don't see the backup you need, make sure it is not currently mounted by another machine and try again."
    any suggestions on how to transfer the data from time capsule to new macbook?

    Do you see the backups in the Select Your Disk window?
    If so, can you connect to them?
    Make sure Time Machine is OFF on all Macs on your network.  If any backups are trying to run, cancel them.  If they won't cancel after a few minutes, see #D6 inTime Machine - Troubleshooting.
    Also be sure no other Mac is looking at them.  If you continue to get that message, disconnect all users, per #C12 in the same article.
    If none of that helps, the backups may be damaged (could have happened when the old Mac died).  Try to Repair them, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting

  • Runtime error using utl_file package

    Hi Friends,
    This is the procedure for reading sample data from flat file , but it won't work.
    create or replace procedure test_utl_file
    is
    ftype utl_file.file_type;
    ch varchar2(200);
    begin
    ftype := utl_file.FOPEN('C:\oracle\temp','data.txt,R');
    utl_file.get_line(ftype,ch);
    dbms_output.put_line(ch);
    end;
    This code is compiled succesfully , but at runtime it shows an error msg
    ORA-29280: invalid directory path
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_FILE", line 33
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_FILE", line 436
    ORA-06512: at "SCOTT.TEST_UTL_FILE", line 7
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    I had entered the directory entry in int.ora file
    utl_file_dir=C:\oracle\temp
    & i used another way also,
    by using alter set utl_file_dir=C:\oracle\temp scope=spfile;
    Can anyone help me to resolve this problem.
    Rgrds,
    Anand

    What database version are you using?
    The UTL_FILE_DIR parameter has been deprecated by oracle in favour of direcory objects because of it's security problems.
    The correct thing to do is to create a directory object e.g.:
    CREATE OR REPLACE DIRECTORY mydir AS 'c:\myfiles';
    Note: This does not create the directory on the file system. You have to do that yourself and ensure that oracle has permission to read/write to that file system directory.
    Then, grant permission to the users who require access e.g....
    GRANT READ,WRITE ON DIRECTORY mydir TO myuser;
    Then use that directory object inside your FOPEN statement e.g.
    fh := UTL_FILE.FOPEN('MYDIR', 'myfile.txt', 'r');
    Note: You MUST specify the directory object name in quotes and in UPPER case for this to work as it is a string that is referring to a database object name which will have been stored in uppercase by default.

  • TIME MACHINE ERRORS using MIGRATION, lost apps and serials

    I will try this one more time
    I recently bought a 2,3gH Power Mac G5 with a 500GB Hard Drive and 16GB DDR 2 RAM and Bluetooth for $400 from Craig's List
    It seemed to run fine but when running Disk Utility it had ALOT of Disk Permission issues...and when I booted from the DVD LEOPARD and hit REPAIR DISK it found two separate errors UDF...
    I decided to set up an external Seagate HD and set up TIME CAPSULE and completed what I deemed to be a FULL BACKUP,,,which should have included my FINAL CUT PRO, LOGIC PRO, Multitrack Studio, and Microsoft Office 2004 among other apps which made me jump at buying the unit
    The bootable LEOPARD disc gave me no choice but to do a FRESH INSTALL which went smoothly
    NOW, there are 30 different backups in TIME MACHINE, and when I tried RESTORING the earliest one dated FEB 28th, the programs either will not launch correctly or are asking for
    NAME
    ORGANIZATION
    SERIAL
    If I had known about CARBON COPY I would have CLONED the whole disk
    ALSO when I MIGRATeE using TIME CAPSULE, not only do the aforementioned EXPENSIVE programs not work, but there come the DISK PER
    MISSIONS problems
    THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
    Matthew

    I have used Time Machine to restore an entire hard disk and system (10.6) and it worked fine. I simply followed Apple's instructions. I have also used it successfully to do a migration to a new computer from an old one (old computer iMac with 10.5, new computer Macbook Air with 10.6) and I was very pleased with the results. Furthermore, in each case all the serial numbers and authorizations for MS-Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Illustrator etc. were preserved. In fact the ONLY thing requiring manual intervention in each of these instances was a reinstallation of Canon printer/scanner drivers for a MF8120 device.
    I think the acquisition of a used, older (PPC G5) computer via Craig's list is probably a slightly risky proposition at best, but maybe worth a try if the cost is right.  Often people sell their used computers when they start to act up or freeze. Sometimes those problems are not easy to fix.
    Here are some suggestions for some of those serial numbers, if you still have those Time Machine backups to peruse to try to retrieve them:
    Office 2004 issue. You need to find certain files from the old system (e.g. from your backup) and put them into the right places on your new system. Since at least one of these is an invisible file, and I think Spotlight won't find it easily, you can download and use EasyFind
    ( http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/11076/easyfind )
    to search for and find these files if they aren't where I indicate below:
    /Applications/Microsoft Office 2004 (or X)/Office/
        OfficePID (normally an invisible file)
    Users/[Username]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft
        Carbon Registration Database
        Office Registration Cache
        Microsoft Office Settings
    Get these files from your backup of the old system and put them into the same places in your new system. I THINK this will fix your Office 2004 problem. If it doesn't work, Microsoft has a support phone number to call about lost or misplaced install disks.
    As for Final Cut Pro, here is where Final Cut Studio stores its serial number info, maybe there is something similar for Final Cut Pro:
    Follow this path:  HD >Library >Application Support> ProApps >Final Cut Studio System ID
    Unfortunately, some software "hides" this registration info by putting an obscure invisible file somewhere where one might not think to look. It's to guard against piracy, but it also impedes legally registered users (like you) from doing something legitimate, like move from one computer to another or reinstall.
    I think you can contact each company and explain your situation; I expect they will tell you where the file (or files) is that you need to move over. After all, you're not asking them for a new serial number. Tell you you are restoring from a full backup, you don't have the original install disks, and just need to move the correct files from the backup over to the restored disk.
    This will all be easier if the account name is the same on the new disk compared to what it was on the old disk (and on the Time Machine backup).

    Hi,
    Wud someone help me with this? Why am I getting this run-time error?

    I have set the classpath to: C:\j2sdk1.4.2_08\jre\lib where the jndi.properties file exists.
    Here's the jndi file:

    What am I doing wrong? Cud someone help me with this? It's working fine when I don't use the data source. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

  • Runtime error using jdk 1.4.1 in jdev

    Hi,
    I am using jdev 9032. My project uses jdk 1.3.1 the default that comes with jdeveloper. Now i have to make this application work on 1.4.1_05.
    But when I run the app in jdev by changing the jdk to 1.4.1 or when I deploy in OC4J (standalone) 903 with JAVA_HOME=C:\JDK1.4.1, I get following error in both the case:
    Auto-deploying file:/D:/temp/projects/Myproject/classes/ (No previous deployment found)... MyProjectServices_StatelessSessionBeanWrapper16.java:6: cannot access java.rmi.NoSuchObjectException
    bad class file: D:\Utilities\java\jdk\j2sdk1.4.1_05\jre\lib\rt.jar(java/rmi/NoSuchObjectException.class)
    class file has wrong version 48.0, should be 47.0
    Please remove or make sure it appears in the correct subdirectory of the classpath.
    import java.rmi.NoSuchObjectException;
    ^
    1 error
    Error compiling D:\temp\projects\Myproject\classes: Syntax error in source
    Oracle9iAS (9.0.3.0.0) Containers for J2EE initialized
    But when I compile my source using JDK 1.4.1 it is fine, and only gives me error while deploying.
    Please let me know how to get this app deployed on OC4J with JDK 1.4.1
    THANKS in advance
    Narinder

    Hi,
    I figured out the solution.
    Regards,
    Narinder
