Runtime error when starting illustrator CS2
I have creative suite cs2 on my windows xp computer and illustrator has been acting kind of funky lately. Now Illustrator CS2 won't even start up. A Runtime error comes up. It says
Runtime Error!
Program: ...rator CS2\SupportFiles\contents\Windows\Illustrator.exe
"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
I try to use another user to login, and start the illustrator. It work.
so, i try to go to Documents and Settings and move my user folder to olduser folder.
and login to user, it will create a new user profile. I start the illustrator, it work. I need to copy back all my document file and email settings.
Beside this, any other way to solve this problem.
This is disgusting. I've pounded away for over 4 hours and I finally found a workaround. Here's the original post that had my answer:
http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3c05ac2f
The short of the story: if I put lightroom.exe into Windows XP compatibility mode" it will work. (To do that, for anyone else who comes across this, you just right-click your lightroom icon, click PROPERTIES, and go to the Compatibility tab and check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)")
I've loaded it up half a dozen times and it's still working perfectly as far as I can tell. Hopefully it won't hurt anything keeping it in that mode.
I'm glad this happened early enough into my trial that I'll have ample opportunity to see if it repeats itself. I'm not keen on sinking $300 into software that will give me ulcers as I troubleshoot problems like this.

Runtime Error when starting Lightroom
I'm currently on day 12 or so of my trial with Lightroom. I've spent quite a few hours getting to know LR by retouching and cataloging over 8 years of photos. So far, aside from a few in-program bugs that I found a way to work around, I've been super-happy with it (especially the powerful keywording/metatagging system: amazing!) and have been really seriously coughing up the huge wad of $$ when the trial's done. But....
For no reason, LR started giving me a Runtime Error when I tried to start it. Something along the lines of "This application requested Runtime to terminate it unusually."
So off to Google I went, where I knew I could probably search that error and fix it like I've done with countless other programs. Unfortunately nothing is working.
Here are the facts:
--I'm running a fully patched Vista machine.
--LR worked fine earlier this morning. I had 1.4 and didn't perform any upgrades or maintenance to it (that I know of) when it just gave me the error out of the blue today when I tried to start it.
--I tried holding CTRL when I start it, and it still gives the error.
--I tried deleting a .lock file (which did exist) but it still wouldn't start.
--I tried running the "repair" tool in the install...no good.
--I uninstalled LR, d/led it again, and re-installed it. IT WORKED!....one time. I was able to run it, checked to make sure my cataloging was still intact (it was - phew!) and even deleted a folder I didn't want in it. Then I closed it. I tried re-opening it a few hours later and I got the SAME ERROR!
I sure hope someone can help because I'm at my wit's end.This is disgusting. I've pounded away for over 4 hours and I finally found a workaround. Here's the original post that had my answer:

C Runtime error when starting Encore
I get the following error when starting Encore and it automatically closes:
C++ Runtime Error
Program C:\Pr...
Application has requested runtime to terminate...I have the same problem and I saw that Troubleshoot C++ guide on the Adobe site too.
(I'm having the problem with Encore CS5.1 on a Windows 8.1 machine)
But, when I go to change the "preferences file" as directed - I can't tell which file is the preferences file.
can anyone help?
To re-create the product preferences file:
Quit the Adobe application.
Rename the preferences file (for example, to [PrefFilename].old). Preferences files are often found in the \Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Adobe\[Product]\ folder. -
Runtime error when starting itunes
Lately when I've tried to start Itunes it launches, asks for my password, then give a message something like : Runtime Microsoft C++ error: This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Any ideas?For what it's worth, I had the same problem that seemed to appear after I installed the Beta of Safari for PC, which also installed the Apple Updater. I uninstalled Safari - still had the runtime error. I uninstalled the Apple updater - the runtime problem went away and iTunes opened as normal. When iTunes opened after I uninstalled the updater, the message from iTunes appeared asking to update to 7.3. Perhaps there is a conflict between the updater and the one built into iTunes.

Odd error when starting Illustrator.
Once of our developers is getting a strange error when she starts Illustrator. It is a typical windows style message box entitled:
"50c:Illustrator.exe - No Disk"
and the body of the message box says:
"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive E."
It has an "ok" and "cancel" option, and if you hit cancel the box will just return, and you can do this several times and it will finally go away, and Illustrator will open.
Anyone have any clue what causes this? It isn't generating any errors in the event viewer to go on.
ThanksYou'll have to forgive me as I just started this job and this is my first time supporting users that are using Adobe products. But as far as deleting the preferences, is this something that can be done from inside Illustrator, or does Illustrator create some sort of config file that needs to be deleted?

R6025 Runtime Error when starting Photoshop Elements Organizer 12
I installed Photoshop Elements 12 a couple of weeks ago. When I run the Photo Editor, everything is fine. But when I try to run the Organizer, I get the Microsoft Visuall C++ Runtime Library dialog that specifies a Runtime Error! for Program: C:\Program Files (x86)... with error code R6025 - pure virtual function call.
My PC is a 64bit Windows 7 Machine with SP1.
Any ideas?
Thanks.I tried the first solution listed and that did not help. Part of the 2nd solution was to create a new user on the PC and uninstall/reinstall the software using the new user account. I did this and I no longer get the R6025 error. Now I get a R6034 error when I open the Organizer.
Any ideas on the R6034 error? -
Windows Registry error when starting Illustrator.
I have CS5.5 Master Collection. because of the following problem, I downloaded, last week, all the updates via the website. So Illustrator is now v15.1.0
After the update I get an error every time I start Illustrator that says:
Adobe Illustrator
[Warning icon] Adobe Illustrator has detected a problem in
the windows registry which needs to be
corrected for Illustrator to work properly.
Would you like Illustrator to correct the
problem now?
[Yes][No]
I always click 'yes'. This is persistent since updating to v15.1.0 as it happens every time I start Illustrator. It doesn't seem to happen in any other app mof the Master Suite Collection, although I haven't started EVERY app yet.
After clicking yes, Illustrator runs (seemingly) normally.
There is no Error number indicated.Are you getting the error “Adobe Illustrator has detected a problem in the windows registry which needs to be corrected to work properly. Would you like Illustrator to correct the problem now”? If you are it is because Adobe’s update software did a number on some settings.
The only way I have found to get rid of that error message “Adobe Illustrator has detected a problem in the windows registry which needs to be corrected to work properly. Would you like Illustrator to correct the problem now?” is to:
Close all CS5 applications
Right click shortcut to Adobe Illustrator Cs5
Tell it to run as Administrator.
This will give enough permissions for Adobe to fix the registry items that it corrupted in the first place! -
Runtime Error When Starting CS5
When I go to start CS5, the following error appears on my screen:
"This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way"
Afterwards, CS5 crashes.
I installed CS5 several months ago and have used it without any problems until now.
(No plug-ins have been installed)
My operating system is Windows 7 64 bit and I'm running CS5 (64bit)
Here's a copy of my event log:

Any ideas how I might go about resolving this issue would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.Same here it was working fine, then I installed a few things, video card drivers, other applications, changed some system settings etc etc.. and then bang... Premiere would just crash when rendering the preview...
I started removing all that I could remember having installed since Premiere and.. well ... Premiere OR Microsoft famous MSVC runtime did not like the fact that I had changed my Environment Variables TEMP and TMP... So I reverted back to the values that I had when I installed Premiere and voila... everything is now working fine.
Have you changed thos environement variables by chance ?
Good luck.

Good Day,
Got an automatic upgrade notification to Itunes 11.1.4 Downloaded OK, but then got an R6304 Runtime error when it completed.
I tried starting from the screen shortcut and got the same message. I tried downloading from scratch from the Apple site, and got
the same errors.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,Follow the instructions of tt2 in: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5822086

A description of what you tried to do outside the listing would help too.

Multiple condition : Error when starting a SWITCH branch
Hi,
In our Z Leave Workflow,I am facing the errors listed below.
Error when starting a SWITCH branch
Error during CASE evaluation in SWITCH mode for node 0000000158
Operator 'EQ': The value of the left operand cannot be determined
Error in the evaluation of expression '<???>&REQ.STATUS&' for item '1'
Unable to determine the value of component ''
It gives error in Multiple condition Request Approved? which is similar to standard WF12300111 node number 158 (u can say copy of WF12300111
This multiple condition works in some scenario But it gives dump at other scenario .
I have checked the value of REQ.STATUS in runtime. It populates the value as 'POSTED' in runtime,
Please suggest if any solution on this.
Regards,
KalpeshHi There was some problem with task which was comprising class CL_PT_REQ_WF_ATTRIBS and APPROVE method. This method is to change the status of particular leave workitem.After running this particular task ,the status was not changin instantly.This method locks particular workitem and was releasing the workitem once the WF gets completed.Hence I was getting REQ.STATUS as sent.
I have changed that task with following code in new task...
DATA:
REQUEST_ID TYPE PTARQ_DEDUCTION-REQUEST_ID,
request TYPE REF TO if_pt_req_request,
new_status TYPE tim_req_status.
SWC_GET_ELEMENT CONTAINER 'REQUEST_ID' REQUEST_ID.
CALL FUNCTION 'ENQUEUE_EPTREQ'
EXPORTING
mode_ptreq_header = 'E'
request_id = request_id
EXCEPTIONS
foreign_lock = 1
system_failure = 2
OTHERS = 3.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
MESSAGE w058(hrtim_abs_req) WITH request_id.
ELSE.
CALL METHOD ca_pt_req_header=>agent->get_request
EXPORTING
im_request_id = request_id
IMPORTING
ex_request = request.
execute state transition
CALL METHOD request->initiate_state_transition
EXPORTING
im_transfer_event = 'APPROVE'
IMPORTING
ex_new_status = new_status.
COMMIT WORK.
CALL FUNCTION 'DEQUEUE_EPTREQ'
EXPORTING
request_id = request_id.
ENDIF.
This will create new status for leave item during WF processing.
Apart from that also added Wait for 2 minutes after that task....
Thanks for your help.

Runtime error when syncing P1i with PC
I get a runtime error when syncing my P1i to PC. The error is linked with this file, 'dxp syncml.exe', and the application is said to request the 'Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way'. How do you fix this?
Thanks Joanne. Let me give you feedback on whats happening so far.
After some doing, I discovered that my firewall is controlled by Norton Firewall Provider. (Bear in mind I am a novice in terms of managing these computer protocols). To modify the firewall settings, Norton calls this in their the control panel 'Smart firewall', I go to program control then configure. A list of programs came up with the options to add, modify, remove or rename. I searched the list and found that DXP SyncML.exe and mRouterRuntime.exe were listed and set to 'Auto' in the Access column. I noticed that under access, the options include auto, allow, block and custom. I reasoned that 'allow' is the highest level of access, and to support the sync feature, I changed the status to 'allow' from 'auto' for the DXP SyncML and mRouterRuntime executable files. If you believe it is ok and safer to keep the auto status, advise me.
I did not find in the listing any of these programs; Bearer Abstraction Layer (SCBAL.exe), Generic Device Management Executable (Generic.exe) or Symbian Connect Object Model for Symbian Connect QI (SymbianConnectRuntime.exe).I did a search and located the generic.exe and the other two files under 'common files' in 'teleca shared' folder, and 'symbian' in 'shared' and 'symbianconnectruntime', respectively.
Norton's control panel for Smart Firewall gave me three options when adding programs: allow, block and manual configure internet settings. The last of the three was recommended by Norton. However, I selected 'allow' for the generic.exe, symbianconnectruntim.exe and scba.exe.Please advise if you believe I need to modify the terms I entered to set up this procedure (is there a better setting that allow me to achieve the same level of functionality without compromising my security?)
Now Joanne, whats left is for me to try the sync after making these changes. I feel as if I accomplished a lot by only reaching this far. I will have to do a reinstallation of the SE PC Suite before moving on though. Let me explain.
When the sync failed repatedly because of the unexpected termination linked with the dxp syncml.exe, I uninstalled the SE PC Suite which was done from a disc, and installed a version from the Sony website. That version is 1.6.0, with a copyright date of 2006. With this, the sync worked. By the way I am using Windows 7 Starter. Now what I am going to do later is uninstall this version of the suite, and reinstall the one from the disc that was linked with the problem we are solving. When I do that later, I will give you feedback.
Just in case you are wondering, I have a vested interest in using the PC Suite from the disc. This application works fine for the file manager component where the drive on the phone and removable media card are read. In the 1.6.0 version, I cannot get the file manager to see the phone as connected though when I put the card (is that called M2 disc?) in the phone, it reads. So, I although sync is working with the 1.6.0 version from the website, I want to use the version I have on disc if the sync component gets over the problem we are trying to solve.
Hope I am on the right track so far I thank you profusely for your patience and dealing with my qeurry; the solution will make a world of a difference for me and many other P1i owners. Look foward to the follow up
