Runtime error when trying to update iTunes

I got "error R6034-An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly" after trying to update iTunes yesterday.  I uninstalled iTunes.  Today I tried download iTunes.  It would not download.  I tried to reinstall from the original download that I had saved.  I got the same runtime error plus another error--"Error 7 (Windows error 1114)".  How do I correct this problem?  I am using Windows Vista on this computer

Same problem here. Multiple times - I've tried downloading, uninstalling and re-installing ad nauseum, all to no avail.
I'm using Windows 7.  64 bit
I also tried installing an earlier 32 bit version if iTunes - and got exactly the same R6034 problem.
Looks like no one is responding to the problem here.
I never did like Apple or its i-products.  This episode has re-inforced my dislike I'm afraid.

Steve, glad that you solved it yourself, but it might be worth taking on board that the steps you mention have not been sufficient for many people which is why Apple and others like myself have been offering somewhat deeper advice. Perhaps reiterating what has often already been suggested in such threads is not really necessary.
Not that you've asked for a critique of your style, but the first sentence of your post above that you are copying elsewhere is appropriate in this thread where you are replying directly to me, anywhere else it perhaps suggests that others should have been able to do likewise and comes over a tad arrogant, though I'm sure that isn't the intention. I wouldn't include it...
    All the best.

  • I am getting a runtime error when trying to download itunes

I keep bgetting a runtime error when trying to download itunes

Not there aren't any special settings for this. You just use the Open In feature to save the document into Pages. You could have a font in the document that Pages doesn't like, maybe something that you copied and pasted from somewhere into the document that went corrupt. But there is nothing special about the way that you save a Word document into Pages. You save it like you save any document or file into a compatible app.

  • I am getting a bonjour64 error when trying to update itunes

I am getting an error message about Bonjour64 when I am trying to updated itunes on pc.

    I'm in the same boat.
Tried uploading to iOS7 on my laptop. It looked like it was working, but then said I needed to restore my phone. I did. Now I have a phone that won't turn on, won't "activate".
So I switch to my desktop, just to get my phone turned on again and working. Try to install iTunes 11.1 and get this message:
The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -1102.)(102)

  • Keep getting security error when trying to update itunes to 11.2.2

need some help here..............even the manuel download only does not work

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

has anyone got a "runtime error" when trying to search itunes store?

I assume since you are posting in the iTunes U for iOS forum that you are having issues with the IOS version of the app. What is the exact error message?
Can you participate in a course's discussion from iTunes U's Course Manager (https://itunesu.itunes.apple.com/coursemanager/)?

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components
If applicable, disconnect any iPod or iOS device and close Microsoft Outlook.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later).
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (see note 1 below)
    iCloud (if present)
MobileMe (if present) (see note 2 below)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot your computer. Delete any of the following folders where they can be found: (see note 3 below)
    C:\Program Files\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files\iPod
    C:\Program Files\iTunes
    also on 64-bit systems:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Bonjour
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iPod
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
Download the iTunes setup file and run it to install. Use an account with administrative rights. This can usually be achieved by right-clicking on the downloaded file and selecting Run as... or Run as Administrator. In some cases a combination of Shift or Ctrl keys may be required for the option to show, or it may not be necessary.
If you deleted iCloud and reinstalling iTunes doesn't automatically reinstall it visit iCloud Control Panel.

  • HT201210 Error when trying to update my ipad

I got an error when trying to update my ipad saying it could not be updated and gave an error 6.  Has anyone else had this happen and how did you rectify it?

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

Select "Save" instead of "Run". Once downloaded, double click the iTunessetup.exe or iTunessetup64.exe to install.
