Russia: problems with international warranty

Good day!
I bought new iPad not in Russia and when I came back Russia I activated it. After 3 days the Home button hadn't worked. Apple in Russia don't wand to repair my iPad without receipt, but I have no it now! What's the problems? It has international warranty! How can I send e-mail to American Apple Office to solve this problem?

Thanks, I should have mentioned I have contacted the reseller and am waiting for a reply from them.
HP so far has not wanted to email me this so I can get it in writing. I only get emails from them stating that I need to call them ASAP to discuss it verbally (hmmm... wonder why?):

I intend to keep pressing them for a "written" response and explanation of why this is not being covered, but yes they tell me verbally that it is not an HP LCD and therefore I'm out of luck. I'll keep trying to call back to see if I can get somebody else. So far there's a voice on the other end of the line, but there's really nobody there with a brain.
Funny, you'd think they would be interested in finding out about what their refurbisher is up to, but they appear to have no interest at all. It's my problem not theirs if the gist of it.
I hadn't thought about the credit card options. I did indeed pay via credit card. I'll keep that in mind. I'm not sure if the time that has elapsed will complicate that or not, but it's worth a try if all else fails.

The problem with the warranty repair in Russia. I bought Iphone4 without a contract in Paris, and now I must go there to have it repaired? In Russia, the repair takes only bought in Russia. Is this correct? So I was told over the phone in service and support in the near future, I was not planning to fly to Paris. Just for the sake of repairing the phone to fly to Paris is expensive.
The problem of 100% on your phone, as trying to change SIM cards of different operator and the problem remains.
Phone is constantly losing the signal during a call, and often just disabled.
I bought 5 phones for himself, his wife and friends, and only I have these problems.
    Very annoying.

Yes you will need to go back to France as the warranty is country specific except in EU countries.  Or if you know anyone there they could take it to an Apple store if you posted it to them.

  • Problem with internal speakers of MacBook Pro

    Hi,
I wanted to know if anyone have experienced a problem with internal speakers of Mac Book Pro. In my MackBook the Internal speaker volume goes down automatically. I checked the System Preferences>Sound>Output , from there I check that it is in the middle ( Balance) However, the problem is still the exists. Just for testing I played an audio file and I moved the bar toward the right speaker it is the same and when I move toward the left speaker the whole sound goes off . Looks like one speaker stops working completely. Then I checked the Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup > Configure Speakers  from there I checked both left and right speakers and the channel frequency is fine. Still same issue.  I have no idea what is going on , I really need your suggestions to get this fixed.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Would there be a problem with the warranty in the UK if bought in USA? Plus is there a big difference between US and UK keyboards? Thanks

Hi, I'm from the UK and in the USA for a week. I'm thinking of purchasing an Air. Would there be a problem with the warranty in the UK if bought in the US? Plus is there a big difference between US and UK keyboards?
    Cheers

There are subtle differences on a British layout, mainly having to do with the top line (shift numbers), to permit the use of European monetary symbols. There are a few other keys different (note the enter key).
Here are the basic layouts. Obviously the MBA won't have an eject key, as the power key resides in that location.

  • HI, I'm planning to Purchase Macbook Pro from United States while I'm there but later I will go back to India. Does it come with international warranty or do I have purchase serperately ? Regards, Mohan

    HI,
I'm planning to Purchase Macbook Pro from United States while I'm there but later I will go back to India.
Does it come with international warranty or do I have purchase internationaly warranty serperately ?
    Regards,

Apple's warranty is global.  However, some countries have laws which over rides Apple's warranty.  To check to see if India is involved read the info in EU-wide Consumer Laws article.

  • Why does apple sell phones with "INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY" when they cant service the phone in India, which has been bought outside India ? Whats the use of their registered service centers ?

i got my iphone 5 as a gift from my friend when he went on a business tour to Dubai. i have a got problem with the native camera app and i contacted the customer care more then 3-5 times and they finally gave me a solution to check with the service centers avialble in  my city. i went all the way there from my place and they said you cant service your phone over here since its has been bought outisde India ! then why do APPLE ship phones ? why do they have REGISTERED SERVICE CENTRES in India ? why do they sell apple products with the tag INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY ?

There is a problem insofar as you did not buy the phone.   Any warranty would therefore apply to the buyer.   What I would suggest is this ...
With the receipt in your hand, telephone the store where it was purchased.  Explain the situation and ask them how you should proceed.    You may find they'll only deal with your friend but if he/she is willing, it can still be pursued in your friend's name.
Once you have agreed a way of getting it serviced you will need to return the phone, and as I suggested, by a registered post system that requires proof of delivery.  Most postal services do this.
Pack the phone, preferably in its original box and surround it with extra packing. You do not want anyone to have grounds to say it was further damaged in transit.
Include a dated letter stating what the fault is and affix to that a copy of the receipt.
I hope you are successful.   Thank you for the star.

  • Problem with internal HD upgrade- Flashing "?" over HD icon on startup

Last weekend, I installed a Western Digital 250GB internal IDE 2.5 inch drive (WD2500BEVE) to replace the internal HD on my 15 inch G4 PB Aluminium (not sure of processor speed, but purchased new in 2004, with OSX 10.4.11). I backed up my existing HD to my friend's MacBook, as a disk image using Carbon Copy Cloner. I was very careful with the installation (using anti-static wristband etc etc). The installation appeared to go well. The newly installed internal HD could be mounted as an external HD of my friend's MacBook (using firewire Target Disk mode). Carbon Copy Cloner copied everything back to the new internal HD without any apparent problems.
BUT THEN... when I disconnected the firewire connection and tried to start my computer on its own, the dreaded 'flashing question mark over hard drive' icon appeared.
Can anyone suggest what the problem might be? Three things I've already excluded are:
    (1) The jumper settings on the HD are correct.
    (2) I formatted the new HD as Mac OS extended (journaled)
    (3) The problem is not with the master boot sector (i.e. the problem is not merely that the computer can see the HD but does not know how to load the system from it). My computer cannot see the HD at all -- when I insert my operating system DVDs as if to reinstall the system, my internal HD does not even appear.
I am not panicking as I can still view the contents of my internal HD by booting it as an external HD of my friend's computer. But there seems to be a problem with my CPU communicating with my internal HD. The core of the mystery is: why can I boot my new internal HD off my friend's computer using FireWire, yet when I start my computer on its own using the operating system DVDs, the computer doesn't seem to recognise the HD whatsoever?
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can we establish what model Powerbook you have? Take the battery out and look for the label.
I have a feeling that your PB cannot recognize the 250GB drive, although I was under the impression that the older PBs that could only recognize 128GB would simply ignore the extra disk space. Perhaps the ATA specs aren't all backward compatible, although the Firewire interface can handle it.
Other World Computing can obtusely point out which drives your model can handle, although I don't know it its 100% accurate.

  • Does the iPhone 4s come with international warranty? I just bought it from Apple in Sydney.

I just bought it from Apple in Sydney. The staff serving me told me it does. I just want a confirmation.

No iPhone has ever come with an International warranty... it is unlikely any iPhone will ever come with an International warranty.
Support and warranty is only valid in the country where the device is originally sold by Apple or their authorized reseller.  The ONLY exception is in the EU where devices can get warranty support in any EU country.

  • Bizarre problem with internal drive

I have a 15" G4 PPC 1ghz Powerbook with 1gb SDRAM. A couple of years ago the hard drive failed. I bought another and replaced it, only to find that there seemed to be a problem with the new one as well. To cut a long story short: I needed a working machine, so mothballed it and bought a new one. for various reasons I'd now like to get it going. So...
Yesterday, I started it up. As expected it couldn't find it's own drive and just gave me the grey screen with the file/question mark icon. I shut it down and plugged in an external firewire enclosure containing a working 60gb drive with a full bootable OS installed (for brevity I'll call this Drive 1 from now on).
I started it again and it booted from Drive 1. It worked fine. I then shut it down, opened it up and replaced the internal Drive with Drive 1. I put everything back in place (being careful to make sure the drive was properly connected) and hit the on button. Again the file/question mark icon. I tried booting whilst holding down the "c" key. Didn't help.
So, I then plugged in another Firewire bootable drive (Drive 2). It booted from Drive 2 no problem. So, at this point I'm thinking, "Well, I've probably damaged the hard drive connecting cable - better get a new one". Never-the-less I thought I'd run a few test. And this is where it gets slightly bizarre:
I stuck in the Apple Hardware test disk, shut the machine down, removed Drive 2, started it again then ran a full hardware check, it told me: Airport - passed, logic Board - passed, mass storage - passed, memory - passed, modem - passed, video ram - passed. As there was no other Drive present this means it was detecting and okay-ing Drive 1, right?
I shut it down replaced the firewire Drive 2. Re-booted. Then opened "About this Mac". Under ATA it clearly shows a FUBITSU 55.89GB Drive. Which is Drive 1. (Drive 2 comes up under "Firewire" as SMARTDISK CORP).
The details given for Drive 1 are as follows:
    Capacity: 55.89 GB
    Model: FUBITSU EHT2060AT
    Revision: 0124
    Serial Number: FN4****B55
    Removable Media: No
    Detachable Drive: No
    BSD Name: disk1
    Protocol: ATA
    Unit Number: 0
    Socket Type: Internal
    Low Power Polling: No
    Mac OS 9 Drivers: No
    Partition Map Type: Unknown
    S.M.A.R.T. status: Verified
I also looked in Disk Utility. In the column on the left, at the top it shows Drive 2 with the Firewire icon. As per usual, it shows twice, once a the top with the manufacturer's name and again underneath with the name I gave it when I formatted it. If you click on either, it offers you all the usual options for Verifying and Repairing Permissions.
Underneath that is a listing for the Drive 1 with the Internal Drive icon. This it shows only once - the listing with the manufacturer's name. If I highlight it the verify/repair options are all greyed out and unavailable.
The last thing I can think of that may be of any help is that if I open carbon copy cloner it only only shows Drive 2 and doesn't pick up the internal.
Could it be a partially damaged cable? Meaning the machine sees the drive but can't use it? Any ideas would be most welcome.

Hi does sound like the cable but did you try running the hardware test CD with the internal drive installed and did it report it? These you could try while waiting on a new ribbon cable.
Also in the system profile was the internal drive selected as boot drive, you can set this using the OS X installer disk by booting from it.
Long shot, is your PRAM battery good? If not that might be the problem, does your date and time stay correct or does it need to be reset on bootup? If it's dead the PowerBook might not be seeing the internal drive or perhaps as I've seen on some PowerBooks it takes a few seconds to a minute for the PowerBook to go down the list and find the bootable drive so guess the final question was were you waiting long enough?

  • Problems with internal memory

    Hello people,
I have a problem with my iPhone. If I go to Usage window in my settings, it says "4.2GB used". However, if I count all MB's of the apps listed below, I don't even get near 4.2GB. It's about 1.3. How is this possible? I know the OS needs some space, but it can't be this ridiculous... This really is a struggle and I hope someone can help me out.
    iPhone 5c 8 GB. iOS 8.1.3.

Try to remove some applications that use iCloud. go to settings -> iCloud -> Archive -> Manage space -> choose if you want to delete something backup or e-mail etc ...

  • Having problems with internal speakers?

    Hello,
I've recently encountered a problem with my speakers. There is also a red light coming out of the audio jack. I found out that many other people are having the same problems with newer Mac versions. I looked at many different discussions and some are wrong and some are right.  Here is a great idea for for making this work: 1) You can use a toothpick. From what I've read, it may work, but be very careful of what you're doing.  2) I've used this idea it works very well. Find a headphone or audio jack cord and plug it in the audio jack many times. What I did was plug it and unplug it very fast. What you're trying to do is confuse the computer for a bit then make it realize that there is nothing in the audio jack. This should work. If it doesn't (for whatever reason) do not use the extra money to get it fixed. If this isn't enough help look at some other discussions, it's how I solve my origional problem with my speakers.
