Russian in DeskI

We have the following issue with BO deski:
- we have a B.O. 6.5.1 report
- connecting over ODBC to a Sybase Anywhere SQL database
- retrieving data which is encoded in CYR1251 (cyrillic)
- the Russian data shows ok in the BO tables
Problems:
- query conditions using fixed Russian text do not work
- when the report is saved in Excel format, the main tables show ok in Excel, but auto-filter drop downs show gibberish and Excel inner worksheet names are gibberish too.
Does anyone here have experience making Russian work with BO 6.5.x?

Russian in DeskI XI 3.1 (replaces earlier thread which was for BO 6.5.1)

I tried to seek help on this forum, under an earlier thread 'Russian in DeskI'.
That time it was with BO DeskI 6.5.1.
Now we have DeskI XI 3.1 installed, yet the problems are very similar.
Will appreciate active help (callback) from SAP/BO on this, as the Moscow
installation is one of our key locations, and as long as it does not work we
cannot purchase more licenses (plan to do so early 2010).
I want to attach files for illustration, but do not see here how to do that.
Environment:
- Windows 2000 server in Moscow
- database engine:     Sybase SQL Anywhere 8
- connection:      ODBC
- Business Objects:     XI 3.1, Desktop Intelligence - what earlier was called "Full Client", busobj.exe
Minimal Test Cases:
OK:     Retrieve a report using our universe, using a simple query - just one object to show
OK:     Specify conditions in the query, using fixed text in English
OK:     See data correctly fetched, some fields in Russian, others in English
OK:     'Decorate' the report with headings and labels in English and Russian
OK:     Rename the inner worksheet(s) inside the report, give them names in Russian
OK:     Save the report in Excel format
OK:     See the data inside the report, Russian and English, provided that the right fonts are installed
OK:     Worksheet names inside Excel show valid Russian
NOK:     Specify conditions in the query, using fixed text in Russian - always fails, though the data sought is surely existing
NOK:     Auto-filter inside Excel shows letters as gibberish, for same text which shows OK in the body of the report in Excel
OK:     Save the report in PDF
OK:     See the worksheet names OK in the PDF file.
NOK:     See the Russian text as gibberish the tables inside the PDF file
NOK:     Search russian text inside the PDF file - fails for any Russian character, even with a single character search

Hi David, this is a difficult taks to answer all these questions in a forum. I suggest if you have valid SAP support you log a case for each issue and BO support will assist.

Service Desk - Expert Mode - Not all actions are available

Dear SAP colleagues,
I have just implemented the Service Desk in our SOLMAN system.
1. I choose Incident Management
2. I click on Queries
3. I click on a ticket (Transaction ID).
4. I edit the message
5. When I select Actions, I only have the 4 following options :
    - Send Message to SAP
    - Maintain SAP Logon Data
    - Display SAP Action Log
    - Update SAP Message
When I consult some demos, there are many differents options available in Actions menu, as, for example :
- Open System fro SAP
- Confirm Message to SAP
- E-Mail to Message Creator (Mail)
- Print Message
- Create Change Document
- Call Solution Manager Diagnostics.
Is it due to an missing authorizations (roles and profiles) ?

I have choosen SIVA when I have activated BC Sets.
Should I activate also BC Sets for transaction type SLFN ?
1. I have started SPPFCADM and follow your recommandations.
2. I have choosen CRM_ORDER
3. I have then click on "Condition Configuration (Transportable Conditions)
4. There are many entries related to the Support and Service Desk
Example : Support Desk Message Action Profile
I have 5 actions defined -
Action 01 : Send Message to Processor
Action 02 : Create/Change Basis Message from CRM Procedure
Action 03 : Send Notification to SAP
Action 04 : Update Message from SAP
Action 05 : Confirm Message to SAP
I have activate BC Sets for transaction type SIVA, not for SLFN.

Hi GN,
You have different options to create messages in test component SV-SMG-SUP-TST:
1. if you are on 7.1 you can create message using CRM_UI
2. If you are using lower vrsion then either you can create message using Workcenter or using transaction NOTIF_CREATE or using menu --> Help --> Create support message.

I tried to sync some new songs bought from iTunes into my ipod using my laptop, (for the first time). It would not add the new songs to the ipod. I tried several times, with same result. I never had this problem using my desk top computer.

I also am having a problem with the songs I purchased using the laptop not showing on the desk top itunes, even though it is authorized to do so. The new songs did show up on the iPad iTunes, however. Have no idea why. I thought this happened automatically.

Some russian titles do not show up in the artists' lists

Hi, I encountered a strange issue with some songs with a russian title with my Nano 2G. The issue appears with some songs, which I downloaded from the bands' websites, e.g. http://www.pelagea.ru. I copied the title from the website and enter it in iTunes. This works fine. Also on my iPod, the titles show up when played, in the playlists and in the list of all songs. However they are missing in the list of the artist (Music -> Artists -> <Band>).
I tried to convert the ID3 tags in iTunes, which was proposed in some Apple document, and I also deleted the title and typed it manually using the russian keyboard - without success. So I also tried to download the MP3 files again and to enter the title directly with the keyboard - no success.
Now I wonder whether this is a bug in the iPod software (version 1.1.1), since the titles are shown everywhere except in the artists' lists, or whether the MP3 files are broken, since other songs with a russian title (downloaded or imported from CD) work as supposed. Any idea how to make the songs from the webiste above working? I guess the same cure would also fix the others, with which I am having trouble.

IMac G3 Panther, Why do I have three hard drives on my desk top and how do I combine them into one?

Trying to get an old iMac up to be enough for my four year old to go on the internet. Upgraded to panther and put an airport card in. Now problems;
1. It can connect to my airport express, but not if I have the password enabled, then it won't, even if I put the password in.
2. There are 3 hard drives showing on the desk top, with the space divided between them.
3. I've been trying to download an old version of flash, but it never finishes and says it can't write the file or something like that. I kind of think it has to do with the file being to large and since the hard drive is divided, it won't fit.

Your old iMac can only connect to a WEP network, and yours is probably WPA. As far as the partitions are concerned, if you don't need any any of the data on it, use your Panther disc and erase and fomat it as one partition.

Error while scheduling DESKI report in infoview

I m scheduling a DESKI report to users enterprise inbox from infoview using a server group. This server group has DesktopIntelligence Job server, Destination Job server, Adaptive Job server and Program Job servers and all these servers are running.
When I schedule the report to boldusers enterprise inboxbold it get failed and shows this error message
bolddestination DLL disabled. []: [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp] bold
I m wondering what has to be enabled for scheduling a report to infoview's own inbox.

You are correct that it shows all the prompts but only when we run the report either directly from the CR Designer or via View on Demand in Infoview/CMC.
But if I try to schedule an instance of this report, I am getting a check box in the parameter section which says "Show unused parameters" to see this dyanamic prompt. And When I check that box in Infoview still I am not able to select any value for this prompt as it's greyed out.
Hope I am able to explain my query to you.

Error creating Service Desk Message in Satellite System

Hi all
We have two satellite system from which I want to create a Support Message. With my current profile/role and can do it from one system and not from the other system. I get "Error in local message system, message xxx not complete". I dont think it is an Authotization fault, but not sure.
How should the Number ranges be setup for more than one satellite system?

I also struggled with this for 2 weeks. But the problem is fixed.
Do your "normal: config from the IMG and then:
1) Make sure that you have selected for the system NOT to check for the User in SolMan
tr: DNO_CUST04, Go to Detail, Select the field NO_USER_CHECK, "X", this is very important, otherwise you will have to create a username for everyone on the satellite system... far too timeconsuming.
2) In your satellite system under OSS_MSG: Col1:Application: OSS_MSG, Col2: + : W. Col3: RFC Destination: SM_"SOLMANRFC"_BACK. Col4: + : CUST620. COl5: + : 1.0
In the Solman side you maintain Col3 as "NONE".
3) Make sure that ALL users in the satellite system has the following roles: SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE and SAP_SV_FDB_NOTIF_BC_ADMIN.
4) Make sure that you have TRUSTED RFC to and from your Satellite system and Solution Manager.
The main one to be sure of is: SAP_ALL for all SOLMANxxx user in the Solution Manager system for every satelite system, because the standard roles from SAP does not work.
This should have your Service Desk Messaging working.

Can I format and use a Hard Drive for my mac if removed from a Desk Top PC

Hi All,
I wondered if you can help with some advise. I have a mackbook and love it, will never go back to pc. But, I have a desk top pc with a fairly sizable Hard Drive in it. Even though I also have a WD external Hard Drive for my macbook back up, would I be able to use my old desk top hard drive if I found a case for it to make it an 2nd external hard drive?
Would I be able to format it for use with my mac? Or is it the bin for all the hardware?

It'd work just fine. Apple uses pretty much the exact same parts every other computer maker does. The one exception is now they have a temp sensor cable connection built onto drives. Before they just stuck a little plastic clip on them at a specific spot. Other than that, it's no different from any other SATA drive you might buy at the likes of Best Buy or NewEgg. So as long as you partition the drive into a format readable by Mac OS X, there shouldn't be any problems.

While transferring Adobe from laptop to PC the licensing files got corrupt and the right way to use Adobe Applications is to install first as transferring from a different machine can give you problems.
You can try steps from this article if that helps otherwise you have to reinstall and manually delete some files , everything is mentioned.

Have you tried a PRAM reset?

If you look in the audio output port, is there a red light showing. If so, the internal switch is stuck.. Insert the headphones a few times, jiggle a toothpick inside or shot some compressed air to trip the switch. If no success, have the Apple store genius bar technician do it.

Unable to call from my office desk

Hi Team,
I have got India Unlimited Subscription. I have registered 4 numbers out of 5 and on of its my office desk phone.
Am unable to use/dial the "skype to go numbers" from that Cisco (Office desk) phone.
Pls advice in this regard
