RV042 basic VPN configuration

Hello there. I'm just wondering on how to use his RB042 VPN ROUTER. Can anyone help on how to setup the VPN?I'm kinda confused. What is the first thing to do until the last?

How to setup a basic VPN

Hi,
I just bought a Linksys BEFSX41 VPN router, I wanted to make a basic VPN. I tried more than a week, I followed the guide. But it never work and really made me headache.
I hope any body can help me to make it work.
I setup the router as the guide, the local IP is 192.168.1.1, I disabled the firewall, I set a statci IP, 10.254.5.92 for the router's WAN IP. I also enable a tunnel. give name to it. setup the local secure group, remote secure group.
The VPN client is a XP computer, I also give a static IP to it, it's 10.254.5.7. I also create a IP Security Policy on the Local Computer. The VPN connection is a L2TP coonection, the pre-shared key is same as that in the IP Security policy and the tunnel.
The client can ping the router, but never can login the the VPN.
Here is the router log, any body find any thing wrong there:

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

I established a VPN configuration and connected but cannot connect to server?

I work from an imac at home and need to connect to my work server and files. I established the VPN configuration and connected to the building but cannot access the server. What am I doing wrong or what else do I need to do.

Once your VPN is connected, you still need to log in to the server(s) you are using. This does not necessarily happen automatically - you may have to manually log in to your server(s).   To do this, in the Finder menu do Go > Connect to Server and enter the server address. If these are windows servers it's probably an SMB connection in which case you would enter smb://<serveraddress> in the server address field.
Best bet is to talk with the IT folks where you work, as you may need specific information about how to log in to your server(s). There are ways to automate the login but you first need the correct login details (server address, userID, password).
If you want to automate the login process, here's a simple Applescript that I wrote in my own case. Create this using Applescript Editor. After testing, save it as an Application; then in System Preferences you can add it to your list of Login Items so it runs automatically whenever you sign in to your Mac. Of course, your VPN will have to already be connected in order for this to actually work.

Cisco sr520 VPN configuration and deployment

Hope one of the cisco genius' can help me out. I have a small business with one sr520 edge router. The network is up and running fine but I need to allow remote users to connect back to a vpn at the office in order to access user winxp Pcs using RDP remotedesktop.
I have searched the web and cisco forums and see there are quite a few vpn configurations but I found no clear setup guide for accomplishing what I understood to be pretty simple. "allow 5 outside users to connect back to the office and work as if they were sitting in the office"
Question:
1. What client software is needed on the remote client pc to connect back back to the sr520 vpn? Can I use the windows pptp vpn client or the built-in Mac client?
2. My router shows three items labeled vpn. VPN remote, VPN Server and SSL VPN...i have tweaked each of these screens but still not been able to connect an outside client. Is there a setup guide to explain the features of this router and how to use it.
3. after poking around the Cisco site for a vpn client i am wondering why do I need a support contract to use a feature of a router I just bought? Does Firmware and client software cost extra?

How to import Lion Server VPN Configuration Profile into Profile Manager

Greetings All,
I'm working on configuring a Lion Server VPN (10.7.2) and I hit the following road block. I succesfully started the VPN server and profile manager. In fact, if I download the built-in "everyone" profile that has the pre-configured VPN to device such as an iPad things work just fine. However, I'd like to create other profiles with the same VPN configuration info so I can delegate more specifically to different groups and users. I was hoping I could simply import the VPN configuration profile that I saved in the Server dashboard when I setup the VPN service into profile manager somehow. The reason I'm going this route is because every time I try to just re-make the VPN profile it doesn't want to work. I'm not sure why, but I figure why re-invent the wheel if I don't have too. Any suggestions?

After a lot of investigating I haven't found a way to do this, I'm assuming it cannot be done.

Deleting a VPN Configuration

On page 91 of the iPod Touch 2.0 User Guide (found here - http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPod_touch_2.0_UserGuide.pdf), to delete a VPN it reads:
"Delete a VPN configuration: Choose General > Network > VPN, tap the blue arrow
to the right of the configuration name, and tap Delete VPN at the bottom of the
configuration screen."
However there is not a "Delete VPN" button is not at the bottom of the configuration screen. What can I do to delete a VPN? I appreciate any help, thanks!

wanted to clarify some stuff -
ipod touch has never been jailbroken.
Installed the Cisco VPN (through my University) this morning.
I can create a new VPN configuration, and then the "Delete VPN" button is there to delete it.
But for some reason I cannot delete the Cisco VPN. As in the previous post, the "Delete VPN" button is no where to be found. hopefully that helps
