RV042 - direct browsing traffic to only one WAN port?

Hi, I have a RV042 (firmware 1.3.13.02-tm). Is it possible to configure so traffic from a specific domain (incl. its sub-domains) is directed exclusively to one WAN port? If so, how can I do this? Thanks.

Hi PAC, in a load balance environment it affects only outbound traffic which would use protocol bind to force traffic through a particular WAN port, meaning it won't affect inbound traffic.
The access rules page only supports source interface but you may try to create an access rule that looks something like this;
Action Allow
Service - (Whatever service you're using)
Source interface WAN 1
Source IP address - Range of public IP address from the domain/sub domains
Destination Ip address - The IP address of your subnet or specific nodes
Now, if you're using a load balance environment, you may want to bind traffic to WAN 1 that originate from the specific hosts that make the request to the domain/sub domains to ensure the source IP address leaving the router otherwise it would be possible to have a different source IP going over the 2nd WAN.
I'm not sure if it would work this way but to the best of my knowledge this would about be the only way to make it work since the router doesn't support telling inbound services to use a specific WAN.

  • How do I add an airport extreme to a cable modem with only one ethernet port, while keeping that port connected to my Mac?

    I have a mac pro connected by ethernet to a cable modem via ethernet.    There is only one ethernet port on the modem.
    I want to keep the Mac connected via ethernet for speed.    Is there a way that I can add an airport extreme to this set up - for my ipad and roku, and for guests to use - or do I need to buy a router to put between the modem and the mac?
    If I need a router, what kind?
    Thanks.

    The modem connects to the WAN "O" port on an AirPort Extreme router.
    The Mac Pro connects to one of the three LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Extreme router.
    Or if you do not need the ability to connect a hard drive to the USB port on the router, you can save a bit by using an AirPort Express.
    The modem connects to the WAN "O" port, the Mac Pro connects to the LAN <-> port
    Either the AirPort Extreme router or AirPort Express router will allow up to 50 wireless device to connect.
    There are many other wireless modems offered by other manufacturers as well.

  • How to connect many devices with only one FW800 port in iMac?

    Hi,
    I am upgrading to a new Intel iMac from a 2004 vintage Dual2.0GHz PowerMac. I currently have 8x d2 Quadra drives chained by FW800, and 2x Iomega drives connected vis FW400 hub which also connects HD cams.
    My questions is that with only one FW800 port in iMac, I think my devices connectivity is the following?
    (1) Get a FW 800 hub (I can only find 2 port ones at the Apple store and BestBuy)
    (2) Connect the d2 Quadras to one port of the FW800 hub
    (3) Get a FW 800 to FW 400 cable
    (4) Connect my 6 port FW400 hub to the 2nd port of the FW800 hub
    Thanks for reviewing this solution, and I would also appreciate other suggestions or hear about your experiences if you have a similar set-up.
    Will

    In addition to your listed considerations, you should consider the following.
    Many storage needs do not required FireWire 800 speed. For example, USB 2.0 works fine for your Time Machine backup drive. If you are just storing user data such as your iPhoto or iTunes media files, USB 2.0 is more than fast enough. So, as much as possible, if any of those external drives have USB 2.0 connections and the data storage does not need FireWire 800 speed, offload as much as possible to USB 2.0. I used to be a +FireWire snob+, but since getting an Intel iMac, I find that USB 2.0 works quite well for most data storage purposes.
    There are new hard drives that are power efficient and as large as 2TB. Consolidate your data storage needs onto a smaller number of very large drives, partitioned as needed. This will make your setup more reliable (smaller number drives), and save reduce power consumption. If any of your current externals are SATA, you can probably replace the existing drive with an extra large one.
    So, I think you setup should be, extra large FireWire 800 drive connected to the FireWire 800 port directly. Using a 9-pin to 6-pin cable, connect the FireWire 400 hub. Connect any non-storage FireWire 400 devices there. Do some data transfer testing to make sure having the 400 hub there on the chain does not cause the 800 connection to slow down.
    Connect other drives as needed using USB 2.0, existing or new. Retire the smaller of your external drives.

  • RV320 - using one WAN port

    What is the correct configuration for using one WAN port so that the router doesn't crash several times a day?
    Should WAN2 be left as address from IP ?
    Shoudl WAN2 be configured as static IP ?
    Should WAN2 interface be disabled?
    Should WAN2 be configured as DMZ and left as default 192.168.1.0?
    Should WAN2 be configured as DMZ and then disabled?
    It's definitely the router which is at fault, power cycling the fibre to copper converter dosen't fix the issue.
    Nor does swapping the FTC for a brand new one.
    Only a power cycle on the RV320, or a remote web interface reset if I'm unside the LAN, makes it work.
    Temporarily, then it crashes next day.

    I have the same settings, and the same up-to-date firmware.
    I see in the logs that the router incorrectly reports WAN2 as Up, then can't sync rate with it.
    Most of the time that failure is around the same time as the users report failure.
    But nothing is logged for WAN1 so it doesn't seem to be a physical failure in cabling, or the FTC converter feeding the router.

  • Mid 2011 Macbook Air - Yosemite keyboard and trackpad stopped working, the only button that worked was the power button, only one USB port works.

    I have a Mid 2011 Macbook Air.
    Upgraded to Yosemite last week.
    Three days ago I was using my Macbook Air for the first time since upgrading to Yosemite. I had been using my Macbook Air for approximately 30 minutes, I was using safari and the keyboard and trackpad stopped working (would not respond). The only button that worked was the power button.
    I rebooted and they were still not working. I plugged in a USB mouse and external USB keyboard, only one USB port would work (the Left USB port if looking at the screen) so I had to swap between keyboard and mouse.
    After logging in there is a bluetooth icon at the top of the screen with a sawtooth line through it. Bluetooth is unavailable and the bluetooth icon is missing from the system preferences menu.
    If I run a hardware test by holding D (on USB keyboard) at startup it says that no problems are found and at the conclusion of the test the keyboard and trackpad start working again. When I log on the bluetooth is working again.
    I shut down the Macbook Air and when I started it again the keyboard and trackpad and right side USB ports were all not working again. I logged in using the USB keyboard and mouse and the bluetooth not available sawtooth icon had returned.
    I ran the hardware test again and at the conclusion of the test the trackpad and keyboard started working again.
    I have tried deleting com.apple.Bluetooth.plist and com.apple.Bluetooth.plist.lockfile from /Library/Preferences/ and tried resetting SMC and Power Functions but this did not fix the issue. The only thing that seems to work is running a hardware test - obviously I don't want to do this every time I use the computer.
    I do not believe any hardware is faulty/damaged - I think it has something to do with bluetooth/Yosemite.
    I do not have the Macbook with me at the moment, if you have suggestions that I can try or additional checks/info you require please let me know and I can get back to you.
    Thanks,
    John

    Hi!
    I have exactly the same problem, and I can't find any solution.
    I can't even track down the root of the problem: the Bluetooth/Wifi module? The trackpad? The keyboard/top case? The logicboard?
    I've tried all the usual: SMC/PRAM reset, clean install, kext cache clearing.
    Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!

  • I will be using a HDMI cable to connect an Apple TV box and a Comcast cable TV box to my TV. My TV has only one HDMI port.

    I will be using a HDMI cable to connect an Apple TV box and a Comcast cable TV box to my TV. My TV has only one HDMI port.
    To do this I will need a 2x1 HDMI splitter or a 2x1 HDMI auto switch (preferred).
    ?Is there any Apple TV HDMI port voltage?
    When using a HDMI auto switch to connect two devices to a HDMI TV, the
    Auto switch cable box only works for components that do not output continuous voltage over HDMI port when turned off.
    Do you know of any other solutions? Componets? Actual expierances?
    Full text below.
    Cable : HDMI switches expand the number of available HDMI ports on a high definition television allowing connection of cable boxes, Blu-ray players, and game consoles. A side benefit is that cable clutter is also eliminated by running a single HDMI cable to your HDTV from a switch and relocating the HDMI ports to a concealed location. The problem with most HDMI switches is that you have to either get up to push a button, or hunt for the remote control, to switch sources. The true mark of any great switching component is an ability to perform its function and remain transparent in its operation. This automatic HDMI switch is a plug-and-play away from offering everything you are looking for in an HDMI switch. Select a single output from up to three devices for signal delivery to your HDTV. Smart operation provides complete control for connect-and-forget operation. Powering on a device gives it output priority over the other devices. By powering down the device in use, output priority is returned to the last powered on device. Note: Auto switch function only works for components that do not output continuous voltage over HDMI port when turned off.

  • Two jack headset, but only one audio port

    My son has an HP Mini 110-3100 Notebook PC, which contains only one audio port.  He also has a headset with two jacks:  one for the microphone and one for the headphones.  Is there a way that he can use this headset such that both the microphone AND headphones work properly?  Please advise as he is home-schooled and is taking courses through a virtual (online) school as part of his curriculum, which includes live lessons conducted through the network...this is where the headset becomes vital.

    Repeating myself. I have received an Apple TV. All of my TVs have only one HDMI port and it is being used by my cable provider. Does anyone have suggestions on how to set up the Apple TV and still have access to the cable provider as well?

    Not very elegant and shows that nothing is ever quite as simple as it seems. Thanks for the help though!

  • Multiple Monitor Setup for HPE-180t w/ NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 (only one DVI port)

    I am wanting to connect mutliple montitors via DVI connection to my HPE-180t.  My graphics card is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 which has 3 ports (VGA, HDMI, DVI) and does support mutli monitor display.  What is the best way for me to connect multiple monitors to my desktop?  I would like for all of them to be connected via DVI.
    Thank you so much,
    Angela
    ``````````````````````````````````````````
    old computer: HP Pavilion PU131AV / a1050y, Windows XP MCE, SP3 32bit, Nvidia GeForce 6600, Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 3.20 GHz, 2GB of RAM
    new computer: HPE-180t, Windows 7 Pro (64bit), Nvidia GeForce GT 220, Intel Core i7-930 quad-core CPU @ 2.80 GHz, 8GB of RAM
    What is the end goal you are attempting to acheive?  Are you looking to clone all three monitors or each monitor to be independent of the other (extended display)?
    This document covers how to configure the monitors in Windows 7.  I didn't see the GT 220 listed in the specifications, so I take it this is one purchased separately for the unit.  Most video cards require multiple monitors to be connected to a different port (to truly achieve a multiple monitor setup).  Since the card only has one DVI port, then the other ports (HDMI and VGA will need DVI adapters).  An example of an HDMI - DVI adapter can be found here.
    The tricky part will be using the VGA - DVI adapter as DVI ports are typically DVI-D which makes it a pure digital signal.  VGA is analog, so the adapter will need to be special if the monitor is using a DVI-D port.  If it is a DVI-A or DVI-I port, then a standard VGA - DVI adapter will work.  If it is a DVI-D port, you will need an active VGA - DVI adapter.  If it is DVI-A/I, then a passive adapter will work.  This is an example of an Active VGA - DVI adapter.  For that adapter, a VGA cable will need to be connected to the VGA port with that end connected to the VGA side of the adapter and then being connected to the DVI port of the monitor.
    Provided the video card supports 3 monitors, this would allow all monitors to have a DVI connection.  Keep in mind that the VGA port will still deliver an analog signal as opposed to the DVI and HDMI ports.  The card specifications do not really say how many monitors it supports, but it most likely does support three monitors.
  • Port Disable for traffic flowing only one direction
    Hi,
    We use some Catalyst Express 500 and ESW-520 in our company.
    But with the Catalyst Express 500 we have problem that we can't arrive to explain.
    Some Gi port turn disable with this log error message :
    Description: Gi1: This port is disabled because the traffic is flowing only in one direction. The cause might be incorrect cabling.
    Recommendation: Make sure that cable is properly connected to the ports. For fiber connections, ensure that the transmit and receive fibers are connected correctly. Disable and Enable the port.
    For the recommandation the cable is right, we change it and we change the switch by an other and the probleme continue.
    If we change with a ESW-520 the problem don't arrive, but we can't change all our old switch for moment.
    Any idea about this problem?
    Hi Guys,
    Thank you all for your help. The packet was being dropped on the "implicit rule", that means that the packet was not finding an ACL to match.
    I checked the ACLs that the VPN Wizard generates by itself when used to configure an IPSec connection, and the ACLs where correct and "before" the implicit rule . (They are called by default outside_cryptomap_"number")
    It seems that since I am not using "sysopt connection permit-vpn" I have to add the same ACLs to the "Local Network" interface (VPN_LAN).
    Since there was inbound ACLs related to the VPN_LAN interface, the firewall jumped directly to the "implicit rule".
    So the result is that I have two times the same rules first inbound on the VPN_LAN and second on the default outside_cryptomap ACLs.
    Greetings,
    Daniel
  • SQL firewall rule to restrict traffic from only one Azure PaaS website (cross-post from websites)
    (This has also been posted on the websites forum)
    Hi,
    I have been asked to configure the firewall on the SQL PaaS instance to only allow traffic from a specified PaaS website that is within the same subscription. I can't see any way to set a static internal IP for the website, is there a way to identify it
    for the purpose of the SQL Database firewall rule?
    Thanks,
    You're right, KG! Sorry.
    This article mentions a reserved-IP:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn690120.aspx
    It specifically mentions your scenario:
    You want to ensure that outbound traffic from Azure uses a predictable IP address. You may have your firewall configured to allow only traffic from specific IP addresses. By reserving a VIP, you will know the source IP address and won’t
    have to update your firewall rules due to a VIP change. This is especially helpful if you want to configure your firewall before you create your cloud service.
    The only thing I'm not confident on would be if it works with Azure Websites - it does mention cloud services, though. If you have further questions, I can give a shot myself and see if I can get a working example.
    Hi Karina,
    If you used Azure Vm, you could set ta static internal IP for your VM. And you can host your website on VM.https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/azure/dn630228.aspx
    But for Azure Website service, I think you may not set the internal IP. But I think you can try to add the website server into your allow rule list if you used the basic or standard mode website.
    BTW, I suggest you can post this issue on SQL Azure forum for more helps:
  • Only one HDMI port- how to hookup Apple TV?
    I have my Comcast box plugged into the only HDMI slot on my Panasonic TV. How do I hook up my Apple TV box?
    How do I hook up my Apple TV box?
    You could invest in an HDMI switcher. I used the Rocketfish model from Best Buy with my plasma HDTV before finally updating my AV receiver. It has auto-switching (which works better than my old auto-component switcher) but also comes with a remote control for those who prefer manual control.
  • RV320, specific traffic through specific wan port
    Hello all,
    I love the RV320, one of the best routers i've bought in years and it works like a charm with our Fiber connection on WAN1 and Coax Cable on WAN2.
    The only question I have right now, i know it is possible to sent specific traffic (DNS,HTTP etc) through specific WAN ports.
    But would it also be possible in some way to say *.website.com traffic will go through WAN port x only?
    Specific apps we use are only available through an IP coming from the provider we use on WAN2 (cable coax), so it would be handy if we could say that if app this or that and/or website is being called, auto serve it through WAN port x.
    Is this possible and if not, something cisco could  add?
