RV082 DNS Local Database doesn't work

I recently upgraded the firmware to 2.0.2.01-tm (from 2.0.0.19-tm). Now I noticed the RV082's local DNS server ("DNS Local Database" feature) does not work any more. Any URL-IPaddr combo I used to put in there was resolved prior to sending a request to the WAN's primary/secondary DNS server.
It isn't a PC problem. I tested on different real and virtual machines, windows and Linux. Is there new "enable" switch somwhere? Anyone, any ideas? Suppose I log into the RV082 with puTTY, what can or should I do?

You can try a factory reset and reload the configuration but the above step i suggested if it didn't work then next suggestion would to be factory reset and reconfigure manually and then test.
So yes you can try that first then try what i suggested and if that don't work then it will be next step
Factory reset and reconfigure manually.. Some times when upgrading it can cause some corrupted files and only way to fix is a factory reset and reconfigure (manually)..

DNS in Lion doesn't work?

Ok, I'm new to Mac but not new to DNS. I have it configured and running and have all of my workstations pointing to the server IP for primary DNS. It doesn't work locally. I used a .com for the local server name. Is this the problem? When I ping server.domain.com (correctly input, of course) it says it can't find the name. Is there a document from Apple (NOT some website that isn't official!) that explains how to setup DNS on Lion from scratch? Any help would be appreciated.

You didn't understand the question. I know where DNS entries go. I'm talking about the DNS server setup on Lion. I have it setup and it isn't working. It doesn't return the correct information. Do you have any experience with setting up a DNS server on Lion?

RV320 "DNS Local Database" no function

I did setup a brand new RV320 today. Firmware is v1.1.0.09.
I am facing the following problem...
I filled the "DNS local database" with names and IPs and expected that
clients connected via DHCP will be able to use that names in the LAN
instead of IPs. DNS server mode is set to "Use DNS Proxy".
However, clients don't get the names resolved as expected.
Any idea, what does go wrong?

I found the same issue after setting up a local hostname in the DNS table in my RV320 (firmware v1.1.0.06) about a week ago but I don't think the explanation in your "reply" is correct. What I noticed at first is that I couldn't ping the host by name from my Windows PC, but it worked fine from my Android tablet or Linux PC. Experimenting a bit more yesterday, I ran Wireshark while pinging from my Windows PC and discovered that if I used a host name, but not a domain, the PC sent a couple of LLMNR packets (destination IP 224.0.0.252), to which it got no reply, then gave up. If I pinged an external site from Windows, e.g. www.google.co.uk, it issued a single DNS query, destination 192.168.0.1, got a response either from the RV320's proxy cache or the ISP's DNS, and carried on with echoes. If I add a domain extension to the local hostname in the name table, e.g my router's default domain, router44fda0.com, and ping hostname.router44fda0.com, the PC also issues a DNS query, and gets an instant (well, 0.864 millisecs) response from the RV320. I set up my target host with Bonjour (the avahi daemon), and pinging hostname.local from my Windows PC, found that it began with a double multicast DNS (mDNS) query (destination IP 224.0.0.251) asking for the same nodename on IPv4 (type A query) and on IPv6 (type AAAA query), to which my target Linux system responded with hostname.local and the IPv4address, but not the IPv6 address. To my surprise,125 millisecs after the PC received the IPv4 address, it issued a DNS query to the router, which responded "no such name" (the hostname was still set up with the router's default domain extension). Even stranger, the PC then issued two LLMNR queries with just the hostname, not the .local extension, to which it got no replies, and finally a second mDNS query, this time a single IPv6 (type AAAA) request for hostname.local, to which it also got no replies. So only the first mDNS query got a successful response. I presume that if had got a successful response from any of the other queries, they would have superceded the first response, i.e. it is saying if the DNS disagrees with the multicast DNS, the DNS is right, if LLMNR disagrees with mDNS and DNS, then LLMNR is right, and if it gets an IPv6 response to the mDNS query, that trumps everything!
My point is that the RV320 does respond to a DNS request, even if it only has a host name in its table. The problem encountered above is that Windows does not issue a DNS request if you ask it to open a host name with no domain.
BTW, I understand that the only reason my PC issues an mDNS query is that Apple install an mDNS extension when iTunes is installed. The mDNS query is only issued if the domain is .local

CSCus07365 - should I not use DNS local database at all or I can enable it again after disabling?

I had an issue with my RV320 that it suddenly stops answering DNS queries from my LAN. I just found out that a new firmware was released last month (v1.1.1.19), and one of its "known issues" is bug id CSCus07365 according to the release notes:
Sometimes the DNS process is gone and can not reply the DNS request from LAN network.
Solution: Check if you have enabled DNS local database feature on RV320/325, disable it, and then configure and save the WAN setting page again.
From that description I am not sure if this is a one-time issue after upgrading (so that I should disable and re-enable it), or if this is still a current issue and it will be better to keep away from DNS local database at all until a new firmware is released.

If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Post your results.
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.

After upgrading ACS 3.3.1 to 4.2 on windows the local database is not working

I have upgaded the ACS 3.3.1 for windows server to 4.2. Everything went fine but the local database is not working.
The CD is an upgrade kit from 3.x to 4.2 on windows. I tried to install directly the 4.2 I was able to install but integration with AD/LDAp is not working. Anysay its an upgrade kit so I cant expect it shoud work when install drectly the 4.2 but by upgrading from 3.3 to 4.2 everything should work fine.
I followed the upgradation path as recomended.
Also we have a requirment that once it is upgraded to 4.2 we need to shift the whole thing from the physical server to a virtual machine on VMware ESX server 3.5.
Can anybody pls guide me if anything else to do after the upgradation.

First of all I was facing a problem of restoring the old database of 3.3 to 4.2. Somehow I overcame that issue by following the below steps. Now local authentication is working fine but AD/other External database authentication is not working. As you told the setting for the unknown users are configured to fetch the credentials from the external database if it is not in the local database.
Do we need to do anything in the AD itself?

Steps for ACS upgrade to 4.2 version
Below are the requested steps mentioned for the up gradation from ACS 3.3.2 to ACS 4.2.
        1)     Take a configuration backup from existing ACS. ACS--->System
configuration----> ACS Backup
2)    now if you have ACS 3.3.2 on server. take backup of the ACS
3)   Insert the cd or if you have the set up on the system then Run the setup of ACS 3.3.4. During the process it will prompt you to
upgrade existing configuration. Make sure you check that option else we will
loose the database. Now you need to hit next.next to finish the 3.3.4 upgrade.
4)     Once you are at 3.3.4, take a backup and keep it handy.
5)     Run the setup of 4.1.1. During this process it will prompt you to
upgrade existing configuration. Make sure you check that option else we will
loose the database. Now you need to hit next.next to finish the 4.1 upgrade.
6)Once you are at 4.1.1.24 take a backup and keep it handy.
7)     Run the setup of 4.2. During this process it will prompt you to
upgrade existing configuration. Make sure you check that option else we will
loose the database. Now you need to hit next.next to finish the 4.2 upgrade.
8)     Once you are at 4.2 take a backup and keep it handy. Now run the
patch 12 and take a backup again.
9)     Now fresh install 4.2 on your new production server and install patch
12. Restore the 4.2 patch 12 backup and you should be all set.

LRT214 DNS Local Database Configuration

I've been able to get my DNS Local Database to allow computers to access via name.lan (i.e., router.lan, printer.lan), but if I leave it just as router or printer, it won't connect.
Is this a known bug, or is there a trick to configuring it?

The LRT DNS Local Database requires the Host Name to include the router Domain Name.
Ex: mydevice.router00abfc.com

Anyconnect SSL-VPN - DNS Lookups (external) doesn't work

I have issues with my SSL AnyConnect VPN setup on my ASA 5512-x. The VPN , split tunneling and NAT exempt is working fine and i can connect to internal hosts.
However, external or internal DNS requests doesn't work on the clients (Windows, Anyconnect). I want full split tunneling, ie DNS requests should not go through the VPN.
The DNS requests works through NSLOOKUP but not in ping and in any browser.
(The config, request more if i've omitted something important).

I don't have experience with the ssl client and vista, but I do use the new Anyconnect SSL client with vista. All you need to do is upgrade the ASA to version 8. Hope that helps.

RV082 10/100 8-Port VPN Router V03 Firmware v4.1.1.01-sp (Dec 6 2011 20:03:18).
When I set the DNS Servers of DHCP to google (8.8.8.8) everything works like a charm.
In order to use the DNS LOCAL I set the DNS Server to the RV082 address.
I then can resolve the local adresses but not normal internet adresses like www.cisco.com.
They time out. I still can ping everything when I know the IP. But it seems the router does not forward the request.
The WAN Interface has as well the Google DNS Server 8.8.8.8 configure.d
Any hints ?

ABAP SET LOCAL LANGUAGE doesn't work

Hello Community,
actually i try to work in a ABAP report with the SET LOCAL LANGUAGE
statement to change the text environment on the fly to an other
language. In the debugger i can see that the SY-LANGU is changed to the
correct country but the messages are in the wrong language...
i also set the profile parameter install/collate/active = 1
I created a small testprogramm:
REPORT Z_STEFAN_TEST_002 MESSAGE-ID sabapdocu.
SET COUNTRY 'US'.
SET LANGUAGE 'EN'.
SET LOCALE LANGUAGE 'E'.
MESSAGE i014.
When i logon with language DE and start the programm, the messages are
also in DE and not in EN.
So can you help me to find a solution?

with set locale/language you can set only language environment for text-elements, headers etc...
I don't know about similar simple solution for messages, but you can load message directly from database table ...

[Solved]update-desktop-database doesn't work

The output is:
Warning in file "/usr/share/applications/epiphany.desktop": usage of MIME type "multipart/related" is discouraged ("multipart" is a media type that probably does not make sense in this context)
The databases in [/usr/local/share/applications, /usr/share/applications] could not be updated.
Can anyone help?

CR11R2: two Databases - doesn't work

Hi!
I've developed a CR-Viewer with .NET 2.0 and CR11 Release 2. The Viewer works fine with reports which have only one datasource (ODBC) with one database. But a few reports of us have one datasource with two databases.
The first database-Name is IMS and the second fibgs.
Our Viewer needs to update the Connection (ODBC-Name, Database-Name, DB-User and password) for each table.
The info of table.LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.DatabaseName is always IMS and thats not correct. The tables/views which are in the database fibgs aren't available after the Datasource was updated.
So my question is: How can I get the correct Database name of each table. (In Crystal Reports the correct name is shown).

Chrome local trusting doesn't work?

I'm trying to do AS3 to javascript communication running locally in Chrome. I've tried multiple designs, examples from the adobe site. On win7 All work fine in IE FF locally once trusted of course. All work fine on internet site including chrome. But in Chrome locally the communication fails. I've set the global setting to trust the file, the directory and have added the .cfg files. From flash get error:
AS3 SecurityError occurred: Error #2060
From Javascript get error:
Object #<HTMLObjectElement> has no method 'myMethod'
Oddly enough, if you use debugging version of flash player it works. It seems the built in Chrome flash plugin won't allow you trust locally?

Asp site work local but doesn't work after upload to the server

I built a ASP site with MS access driven, it works good at my
local computer but after I upload it to the internet server, it
failed. I am pretty much sure it's data connection problem, any
solution anyone,............

IMPORT FROM DATABASE doesn't work in Web Dynpro

Hi all, I want to use the code at the bottom to get the last packages visited by a user I specify.
But I'm getting this error:
IMPORT var_1 ... var_N FROM DATABASE is not supported in the OO
context. Use IMPORT name_1 TO var_1 ... name_n TO var_n FROM DATABASE
... instead. var_n DATABSE ... insted var_n FROM DATABASE.
Could someone please show me how I can resolve this?

Create app from database doesn't work

hi all, i am new to developing in flex, and just set up a
test-database (php, mysql) - i created a php project, and when i
choose data->create application from database nothing happens
... just nothing ... any help would be very much appreciated, i am
sure it's a no-brainer, but i just can't figure it out at this
stage ... i run a full version of flex 3 pro
