RV082 HTTP Resolve Question

Greetings All,
I set up a CentOS 4.3 server under VMware 1.6. It servers up web pages and has a few other functions. It is at IP 192.168.1.90 on my LAN and I can ping this server from any machine on the LAN.
I had an extra machine so I installed the SmoothWall Firewall on it and I can server up any of the web pages I have on the CentOS server including mail etc.
When I do this I disconnect for the CISCO RV082 router and use the SmoothWall router. The my entire network seems happy with is and everything is working well.
I started having problems with the SmoothWall box and decided that rather getting another machine I would start to use the RV082 instead. Everything remains the same.
I haven’t done much work with the RV082 and I not that advanced with networking and routers. I have tried several different setting with the RV082 and other then getting a port forwarded for my IPCam I can’t get to any of my web sites on the CentOS server. Like I said, everything did work when the SmoothWall box is connected.
The WAN is connected to the input on the SmoothWall box and the output goes to a hub for LAN connection. Same for the RV082 which has the cable from the WAN connected to the RV082 WAN1 connection and the output goes to the hub. The SmoothWall box and RV082 are not hooked up to the LAN at the same time.
Below is the setting for HTTP on the SmoothWall router:
Protocol:                              TCP
External Source IP:               All
Source Port:                         80
Destination IP:                      192.168.1.90             (CentOS Box)
Destination Port:                   80
I’m trying to get to WWW.VUQUEST.COM and the web page is on the CentOS box but as the RV082 settings stand right now the outside world doesn’t see the CentOS box.  When I key in the URL above it resolves to the RV082 address.
Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks

Thank you. I created composite where interface is JCA HTTP Bindung Adapter. At Adapter configuration I set

  • Http adapter question

    This may be a very stupid question but, I have set up a http adapter but i am unsure of the syntax used to post the data to it via a URL. Each different way, i keep getting a Bad Syntax status. If I post the address of the TransportServerlet in a browser, I do get the settings displayed, but I just can't send data to it.

    Hi,
    I may not be able to reply to your question, cause actually i have a question for you. How did you use the HTTP adapter.Cause in Jdeveloper i dont find the adpter in the services list. So please tell me how did you get the HTTP adpater.Did you install it explicitly?

  • RV082 DMZ Configuration Question - Point to Point

    Hello,
    We have 2 offices in different countries both using the RV082 router.  Currently both offices have an internet connection on WAN1 and that is working fine.
    We are adding a Point to Point circuit between the two offices, and my question is on the RV082 configuration on each side.
    I was going to configure WAN2 in DMZ mode on each router, then connect the point to point circuit to the WAN2 port.  On the China side, the DMZ IP will have to be a private address (192.168.177.1), while the DMZ port on the San Diego side will be a public IP.
    We need internal computers to be able to go to the internet normally through WAN1, but also go through WAN2 if they are trying to reach the other network.  I will be adding routes on each RV082 for this.
    Is there anything wrong with this configuration?  Do I need to change the routers from Gateway to Router mode?  Does it matter if the DMZ WAN2 port has a private IP address?
    Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated!
    Thank you in advance,
    Eric

    Thanks Tom but that thread is not exactly what I was looking for.  Mainly I just want to know if the RV082 can act as a fully functioning router with the two WAN ports going to different networks.  So the LAN side would hit the router, look at the routing table and know which WAN port to go out of.  Using the DMZ seems like it will work, but I have never tried it so I wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone has done this before.

  • HTTPS Configuration question

    I've just been handed an iWS6.1 server and need to setup HTTPS. That's easy, not much different than ldap, messaging server and Portal.
    But my question is "How should I provide the HTTPS service?" From a quick read of the docs, I could do 1 of 2 things.
    1. Add a https listener to the current virtual web server: www.xyz.com
    2. Define a new virtual server and call it wwws.xyz.com
    The https service would be used to authenticate users and present pages under www.xyz.com. The big advantage I see to using wwws.xyz.com is that it would force developers to put all their https dependant code in one spot, but I could be mistaken on that assumption.
    Thanks,
    Roger S.

    First of all, there is nothing wrong with letting Outlook connect via HTTP internally as well. This is actually the direction Exchange is going (in fact, in Exchange 2013 all Outlook connectivity takes place via Outlook Anywhere).
    Second, it's a fallback mechanism and all that the option does is either attempt to connect first via RPC and then HTTP or first HTTP and then RPC.
    Third, your Internet connection speed is also irrelevant in this case since it is your network adapter speed which counts and that is most likely your local LAN speed and even higher than that.
    Anyway, to answer your question; Yes, what Outlook considers slow is configurable via the Registry.
    However, since the full answer is a bit more complex, it is a bit hard to explain it here so I turned it into a blog post:

  • Http sumbit questions

    Hi,
    I´m using an http submit button inside my pdf. How can I get the name of each field at the server side? (I´m using asp) I ask this because I´m able to get the data but not the name of the field related to that data.
    Seconde question: is it possible, after a submit, not to process the new page (the response), and stay with the original form? (it´s a kind of an execute... but for that one needs readers extensions...).
    Thank you

    I'm trying to do a simple http submit and send the data that the user entered into the form to a ColdFusion (cfm)page and soon to be an ASP page but I can't figure it out. I can do the link and I go to the cfm page but I can't seem to figure out how to access the data from the pdf form. I transfer data from one html page (cfm page) to another without any issues. I have nothing extra installed on the server (i.e. reader exensions).
    You said you get the data but not the field name, how do you see the data in your asp page? What is the name of the field or the syntac because if I assume it is the pdf field name in the pdf form then I can't see it.
    I can Email the data with no problems just can't get the data "transfered" to a HTML page.

  • Weblogic apache HTTP configuration question

    Hi All,
    Here is my current configuration:

    </Location>
    It works fine. http://localhost/TESTCRM load the application located on the Weblogic server.
    Is there way to exclude certain directory from being loaded from weblogic server?
    We want resource folder to be loaded from local apache machine.
    http://localhost/TESTCRM/resource (resource folder is located on the apache htdoc folder)
    How can I exclude the resource folding loading via weblogic module? Is that possible? What alternative option do I have? I am new with apache so any help will really appropriate it.

  • Https / Security Question

    I made an applet which connects to an https server. I want to ensure that a rogue applet cannot call the servlet the same way my real applet can. If a rogue applet could get in, I would have to write additional code to perform login authentication before executing the remainder of the servlet.
    I was wondering if the login authentication is necessary or not because maybe the HttpsURLConnection is satisfactory enough to prevent unauthenticated calls???
    I have the following code demonstration below.
    APPLET
    import javax.net.ssl.HttpsURLConnection;
    import javax.net.ssl.SSLSession;
    import javax.net.ssl.HostnameVerifier;
    import java.net.URL;
    import java.net.HttpURLConnection;
    import java.io.ObjectOutputStream;
    import java.io.ObjectInputStream;
    import java.util.TreeMap;

             final URL url = new URL( "https://mySite.com/servletPath/MyServlet" );
             final HttpsURLConnection servletConnection = ( HttpsURLConnection ) url.openConnection();
             servletConnection.setHostnameVerifier(
                new HostnameVerifier() {
                   public boolean verify( final String urlHost, final SSLSession ssls ) {
                     return true;
             servletConnection.setDoInput( true );
             servletConnection.setDoOutput( true );
             servletConnection.setUseCaches( false );
             servletConnection.setDefaultUseCaches( false );
             servletConnection.setRequestProperty( "Content-type", "application/octet-stream" );
             // Read the object to the servlet
             final ObjectOutputStream outputToServlet = new ObjectOutputStream( servletConnection.getOutputStream() );
             outputToServlet.writeObject( oArr );
             outputToServlet.flush();
             outputToServlet.close();
             // Read the input from the servlet.
             final ObjectInputStream inputFromServlet = new ObjectInputStream( servletConnection.getInputStream() );
             final Object result = inputFromServlet.readObject();
             inputFromServlet.close();
             System.out.println( "Data: " +(String)result );
          catch ( Exception e ) {
             System.out.println( "Could not establish Connection : " + e.toString() );
    }SERVLET
    public final class MyServlet extends HttpServlet {
       public void doPost( HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response ){
         ObjectInputStream inputFromApplet = new ObjectInputStream( request.getInputStream() );
         Object[] args = ( Object[] ) inputFromApplet.readObject();
         //etc...
         ObjectOutputStream outputToApplet = new ObjectOutputStream( response.getOutputStream() );
         outputToApplet.writeObject( data );
         outputToApplet.flush();
         outputToApplet.close();
    }If I call this with a HttpURLConnection I can see the data returned, which is bad since I may be a rogue applet. If I call it with an HttpsURLConnection I get the following message:
    javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: No trusted certificate foundIs the HttpsUrlConnection good enough, or should additional measures be taken?

    Authentication via HTTPS might involve putting a
    certificate on the client where your applet is
    running.Are you saying a signed applet? Or is this a
    completely different thing?Completely different thing. When you install SSL on your server, you get a certificate from Verisign or somebody else in the trust business, and the idea is that the certificate verifies to your client, via SSL, that your server is really your server and not some other pirate box pretending to be your server.
    Likewise you could install a certificate on your client. That certificate would then verify to you that your client was really your client and not some other pirate box. Client certificates aren't used much, because it's a hassle to create them and get them installed on your client, but they do exist.

  • ACE HTTP Probe Question (HTTP Version)

    Hello, I am wondering what HTTP version ACE uses when sending HTTP/HTTPS probes to a web server. I am currently running A2(3.3) if that has any bearing. TIA

  • ACE http Probe Question

    Hi there,
    I have a probe and it keeps failing. I believe it might be something to do with the special character in the URL. The URL requires a port then a page after the server address:
    probe http Server2_Probe
    description Checks Server2 http is responding
    ip address 10.x.x.x
    interval 30
    faildetect 4
    passdetect interval 3
    receive 5
    request method get url :8100/gdesktop
    expect status 200 200
    Can someone point me in the right direction as to how I implement this probe if the :8100 port syntax is not allowed?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    In the probe definition add
    port 8100 - this changes the port used from the default of 80. Then remove :8100 from the url.

    Ideally if the user could just browse to http://<uccx ip>:9080/CSQ-Stats.html and have all the queue information available and then the user can refresh IE to get up to date stats.
    Hoping this make sense to everyone
    Cheers,
    Greg

    Hi,
    that's the simplest thing an HTTP application in UCCX can do: serve a HTML page.
    First, create your CRS script, where you can do some calculations using the results of the stats steps. Then just do a keyword transform, and send back the final document using the Send HTTP response step.
