Rv082 large ftp files fail

Hello,
We are using the rv082 router and we have a media server that uploads files to be encoded a few times a day to a server across the internet. The file size varies, however we seem to have problems with larger files (~100mb), they always fail.
Using windows built in FTP on a workstation, transfering a 110mb file, about 3/4 through I get a "remote host closed connection" error. This is a completely different file/extension and being upload to a completely different server than our media machine is connecting to.
Our media server is automated using software that is beyond my control. Smaller files seem to be uploaded fine.
We have an older linksys router we were using before the upgrade. If we replace the Rv082 with the older router, everything uploads perfectly.
I have tried using QoS to set high priority on FTP and on the port of origin, as well as disabling firewall features like Anti-DOS/SPI/Block Wan Request and still have no luck.
If I use a client such as winscp with resume capability, files can be uploaded ~100mb with no problem.
I must also note I am not using the 2.x firmware released not too long ago, because for some reason the router will not upgrade, however I followed all the directions correctly. So currently we are using the 1.3.98tm firmware.
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the reply. We are uploading to external sites as I stated, and with our cable internet, there is no way our speeds are being affected by a 10/100 MBps cap when we may get 10MB down and 5 up. This would also not explain the inability to upgrade the firmware with the newest official release.

  • SFTP MGET of large files fails - connection closed - problem with spool file

I have a new SFTP job to get files from an FTP Server.  The files are large (80mg, 150mg).  I can get smaller files from the ftp site with no issue, but when attempting the larger files the job completes abnormally after 2 min 1 sec. each time.  I can see the file is created on our local file system with 0 bytes, then when the FTP job fails, the 0 byte file is deleted.
Is there a limit to how large an ftp file can be in Tidal?  How long an ftp job can run?
The error in the job audit is Problem with spool file for job XXXX_SFTPGet and an exit code of 127 (whatever that is).
In the log, the error is that the connection was closed.  I have checked with the ftp host and their logs show that we are disconnecting unexpectedly also.

I believe there is a limitation on FTP and what you are seeing is a timeout built into the 3rd party application that tidal uses (I feel like it was hardcoded and it would be a big deal to change but this was before Cisco purchased tidal)  there may have been a tagent.ini setting that tweaks that but I can't find any details.
We wound up purchasing our own FTP software (ipswitch MOVEit Central & DMZ) because we also had the need to host as well as Get/Put to other FTP sites. It now does all our FTP and internal file delivery activity (we use it's api and call from tidal if we need to trigger inside a workflow)

  • A pdf file failed to convert to word, presumably because of size.  how do i split a large pdf file into manageable secrtions?

I'm running Abode Reader XI version 11.0.7.  Repeated attempts to convert a large (439 page) file, a dissertation, failed.  How do I split a large pdf file like this into manageable sections for conversion?

    Hi Mike,
Your 11MB file is well within the file-size limits for ExportPDF, but depending on the number of pages, complexity of the file (and yours doesn't sound complex), and your connection speed, it is possible that the service is simply timing out before it can finish processing. These steps can help:
If the file already contains editable text (that is, it isn't a scanned document), try disabling OCR as outlined in this this document: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (OCR) when converting PDF to Word or Excel.
Clear the browser cache and try again.
    Try a different browser.
Let's start there. If you still can't export the file to Word, let me know and we'll take it from there.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Large files fail when copying to external hard drive

Hi, I am trying to copy 2 extremely large dmg files (both 4-7 GB each) from my macbook to an external hard drive. When the file is almost done I get an error message saying it couldnt do it. I have heard about this happening to other people because their external harddrives were not formatted correctly or something. Is there some precedural way of doing this, if so what are the steps. Thanks.

In addition to the other suggestions, you may want to try connecting the drive directly to the MacBook. While this is probably sensitive to the exact combination of hardware, I'm finding that I have problems if I connect my drive to either my first-gen aluminum Apple Cinema Display or an external USB 2.0 hub, but no problems whatsoever if I connect it directly to one of the MacBook's two USB ports.
The exact error message you get would also be helpful.

  • Error attempting to process incomplete inbound FTP file

We are currently receiving some large files into PI via FTP.  Here is the communication channel definition:
    Adapter Type:  File
    Transport Protocol:  File System (NFS)
    Message Protocol:  File
    Adapter Engine:  Integration Server
    Poll Interval (secs):  600
Msecs to Wait Before Modification Check:  10000
Our issue is that at times PI attempts to process the file before it has completed uploading, and throws this error:  "Attempt to send file failed because file was modified during processing. 2428928 bytes expected, 2675033 bytes found. Trying to resend file".  The next time the file system is polled for new files, PI selects and processes the file successfully.
    Two questions:
    1)  Is it possible for PI to wait until the upload has fully completed before it attempts to process the file?  For example, can I run an operating system command before message processing which attempts to put a lock on the file and waits until it is successful before the file is processed?
    2)  We have implemented alert monitoring from Solution Manager for errors in PI.  These cases are throwing an alert upon the initial error, but these turn out to be false since the message is eventually processed successfully.  Can I configure Solution Manager to bypass this type of error?
Thank you very much for your help with this.

    Hi Mark,
    >>>1) Is it possible for PI to wait until the upload has fully completed before it attempts to process the file? For example, can I run an operating system command before message processing which attempts to put a lock on the file and waits until it is successful before the file is processed?
there is an easy way to achive it
put the file with a different name (let's say .lfg extension for flag)
after the application finishes uploading make sure it will also change the name to .xml etc.
inside PI file adapter specify to upload only .xml extensions - this way it will only take the whole file

as for solman question if you do like I suggest you will not have the errors in solman

  • Files failed to sync

Just began trying to use the cloud services that come with Adobe Premiere.  Was able to sync some smaller files; a 35MB mp4 file, and a Premiere program file of 70MB.  When I've tried to upload large movie files, it fails to sync after about an hour.  I've read all the breakdowns on the site.  I'm not using the wrong type of symbols.  I've turned the sync off then on.  I've even gone over this all with someone on 'chat' and they kept pointing me in directions I had already tried.  Any help would be appreciated.
-I'm using a Mac OSX 10.9.3.  Everything is up to date.
-The large mp4 files are just under 2GB.
-They already worked on Dropbox but I've quickly run out of room which is why I was hoping to move to CC.
    Thanks,
    Wayne

    Hi Doctor Dynomyte,
Could you send your log file to [email protected]?
On a Mac: in Finder, choose 'Go' menu, 'Go to Folder...', and copy and paste this into the text box: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
On Windows: open Start menu, and copy and paste this into the search field at the bottom of the Start menu: %APPDATA%\Adobe\CoreSync
You should see one or more files called something like "CoreSync-2014-06-26.log". Please send the file for the day when you were unable to upload your file.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ben

  • Copying large video files to PC-external HD

I need to deliver a large Quicktime-file (5,87 Gb) edited in FCE to someone who will open it on his PC in Avid.
    It seems to be complicated:
First problem is conversion - I need to convert my QT-file to a Windows Media file, right?
This can be done with a conversion programme, i.e. Microsoft Expression Encoder that I have installed on a PC laptop.
But how to move the 5,87 Gb file to the PC?
I have an external HD formatted FAT32, but that only takes files up to 4Gb max.
Is there really no way to copy a large mov.file on to an external hard drive that can be read by a PC?
Tog o around the problem, I have tried to make an avi.file by exporting from FCE with Quicktime conversion - but the quality is really bad.
Also making a smaller QT-file (that does not exceed 4 Gb limit on the HD) does not look good when compressed a second time in Expression to a Windows Media file.
    So, what to do?
Can PC's read NFTS-formatted HD??  I guess not, I tried onc,e but maybe I didn't format it right.
Sorry for all these questions in one go - hopefully there's a way to work around this annoying problem...

For file transfer, here's what I suggest (sort of in order of recommendation):
Use a network connection. Both computers (your Mac & your friend's pc) on the same network; turn on file sharing on your Mac, log the pc on to your Mac and copy the file(s).
Use an FTP connection via the internet. You and your friend will both need an FTP client.
Use an NTFS formatted external hard drive. All modern pcs use NTFS (Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7).  You will need a copy of NTFS for Mac (or similar utility) on your Mac to write to an NTFS formatted disk.
Use a Mac OS Extended formatted external hard drive.  Your friend will need a copy of MacDrive (or similar utility) on his pc to read files from a Mac OS Extended formatted disk.
Burn your 5.87GB file to a dual-layer DVD disk. Use the Finder to copy the file to DVD media & burn the disk.  Your Mac will need to be able to burn to dual-layer DVD media; and your friend's pc will need to have a DVD drive to read the disk.

  • How to set SAXParser at command-line interface to create a large XML file

    Hi,
I am trying to create a large XML file (more than 50 MB) by selecting from Oracle database but failed because of "out of memory" error. According to "Oracle XML Developer Guide", we should use SAXParser to parsing a large XML file. But there is no example to show how to set SAXParser at command-line
Following is what I use to get xml files. It works only when the file is small.
java OracleXML getXML -DateFormat -withDTD -rowsetTag PO_HDR -conn
    "jdbc:oracle:oci8:@server_name" -user "ID/password" "select * from table_name"
When I set SAXParser at the way below,
java oracle.xml.parser.v2.SAXParser OracleXML getXML -DateFormat -withDTD -rowsetTag PO_HDR -conn
    "jdbc:oracle:oci8:@server_name" -user "ID/password" "select * from table_name"
it failed with the error message: "In class oracle.xml.parser.v2.SAXParser: void main(String argv[]) is not defined"
Does anyone know how to solve the problem? I'll be appreciated very much for your help.
    Yi

    here are my ideas.
    register the xml schema.
using xmldom, generate the desired xml output and return as xmltype.
then you can use something like this to check.
    declare
    xmldoc xmltype ;
    begin
-- populate xmldoc from you xmldom function
       -- validate against XML schema
       xmldoc.isSchemaValid(schema_url, root_element);
       if xmldoc.isSchemaValid = 1 then
            --valid schema
       else
            --invalid
       end if;
    end

I also tried ftp directly fron the XI server using command line and also using winftp utility. In both cases I was successful to ftp the file. The ftp server says we need to run in only active connection mode.
I wonder if any one experienced same problem and how was it resolved? I appreciate your help.

    Srini,
Thank you for the reposne. THe Q.26 is as follows.
Q: I have configured a File Adapter channel to connect to an FTP server, but receive one of the following error messages in the adapter monitor:
Error connecting to ftp server '<hostname>': SocketException: Connection reset
Error connecting to ftp server '<hostname>': SocketException: Connection refused
Error connecting to ftp server '<hostname>': ConnectException: Connection timed out
A: This problem is either caused by incorrect firewall / packet filter settings or an incorrect configuration of the FTP server. Also make sure that you have correctly specified the host name / IP address and port of the FTP server.
Changing the connection type from 'active' to 'passive' (or vice versa) might additionally help to work around the incorrect firewall configuration.
I was successful in transmitting file via ftp from XI box without any issues. If there are fire wall issues, command line ftp shall fail. I also verified that the file size is good after transmission. I have tried with both active and passive mode without any success.
By the way I have about 6 other ftp communication channels configured and working correctly from the XI box. Please let me know if you want me know.
    Thank you,
    Balaji

  • Today, I randomly happened to have less than 1GB of hard drive space left. I found very large "frame" files, what are they?

I found very large "frame" files, what are they & can I delete them? (See screenshot). I'm a (17 today)-year-old film-maker and can't edit in FCP X anymore because I "don't have enough space". Every time I try to delete one, another identical file creates itself...
If that can help: I just upgraded to FCP 10.0.4 and every time I launch it it asks to convert my current projects (I know it would do it at least once) and I accept, but everytime I have to get it done AGAIN. My computer is slower than ever and I have a deadline this friday
I also just upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7.4, and the problem hasn't been here for long, so it may be linked...
    Please help me!

The first thing you should do is to back up your personal data. It is possible that your hard drive is failing. If you are using Time Machine, that part is already done.
Then, I think it would be easiest to reformat the drive and restore. If you ARE using Time Machine, you can start up from your Leopard installation disc. At the first Installer screen, go up to the menu bar, and from the Utilities menu, first select to run Disk Utility. Completely erase the internal drive using the Erase tab; make sure you have the internal DRIVE (not the volume) selected in the sidebar, and make sure you are NOT erasing your Time Machine drive by mistake. After erasing, quit Disk Utility, and select the command to restore from backup from the same Utilities menu. Using that Time Machine volume restore utility, you can restore it to a time and date immediately before you went on vacation, when things were working.
If you are not using Time Machine, you can erase and reinstall the OS (after you have backed up your personal data). After restarting from the new installation and installing all the updates using Software Update, you can restore your personal data from the backup you just made.

  • Im trying to publish a web gallery to BC, my settings seem correct but I'm still getting an  error: FTP transfer failed ' unknown error'. Techs on BC, say FTP working fine. Please help!

    Hey peeps,
Im trying to publish a web gallery to be hosted on BC. Despite having what seem the correct settings im getting an error: FTP transfer failed ' unknown message'. Have checked with techs on BC. They say FTP working fine that end.
    Any suggestions?

Have you tried connecting to another FTP server in Lightroom?
For example, if you get a free Flickr account, can you login to it and upload a file to it?
If you can't upload to any server, then you have a general FTP-in-Lr problem, but if problem is only with BC then, well, it's time to start scrutinizing the BC settings..
PS - All my FTP'ing plugins have an enhanced FTP settings test feature designed to help you debug FTP settings, so another option is to download one of them, for example:
    robcole.com - FTPAggregator
    and experiment with settings tester:
To get here, you have to click 'View / Edit Additional Settings' (in plugin manager), then choose 'New' or 'Edit' from 'Sync Pairs' drop-down menu.
If test is unsuccessful, enable verbose logging (top section of plugin manager), and review the log file after test, or send to me.
If you have a problem running plugin, please contact me directly:

  • Difficulty converting file keeps coming up with "file failed to be converted using Adobe ExportPDF online

    Hi Dude291,
I'm sorry that you're having trouble with ExportPDF. Can you please tell me a bit more about what's going on, so we can get to the bottom of the issue?
What browser are you using? Have you tried clearing the browser cache?
Are you converting from within Reader, or directly via the ExportPDF website?
Are you able to convert other files? Or is the error specific to this one file?
How large or complex is  the file that you're trying to convert?
Are you accessing ExportPDF from a networked computer that may have firewall/proxy settings that are limiting access to the Internet?
I think that's good for starters. Please get back to us with some detail about the problem and we will see what we can do.

    Raju,
    ftp -s:
    <shared>\abc.txt >
    <shared>\ftpresult\ftpresult.txt
    MOVE
    <yoursource directory>\*.txt
<shared>\archive  ( to archive the file)
    and in abc.txt:
    open <ftp>
    <user>
    <password>
    put
    <source directory of your file>\*.txt
    quit
you can even check your ftpresult.txt file to see whether it executed perfectly or not....and finally use that batch file in the receiver communication channel with full path..
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Ravi
