RV120W Administration Page The connection was reset

I have a problem with RV120W, I can connect to internet and all, but I cannot get into administration page, once I input the username and password, it always comes back with.
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
That happens with Firefox and IE, any idea how to get it fixed?

Rene,
Thank you for posting the fix. I tend to do that without even thinking about it so I forget that it can solve the problem. I had the same issue with an ISA550 recently and using https solved it.

• I am receiving a "Problem loading page (The connection was reset)" error when I open certain websites. Sometimes I can only open the homepage and not the log in section for a website, othertimes the other way around.

Amongst other things, I've updated all Firewalls to grant Mozilla access, rebooted the computer, checked your FAQs but I am now running Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security (not the original Trend Micro, which your FAQ is out-of-date for anyways) and you don't have any advice in regards to that program. I receive the same error page when I try to update any of the Plugins which are indicated as requiring an update in Firefox's Plugin Check & Updates page.

Re: my security software: I use Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials (also Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, if that helps).
I've now tried the above link's instructions for configuring Windows Firewall to allow Firefox access. It may have helped slightly with the error (which seems to be happening a bit less often); however, the primitive-looking-web-page problem is if anything worse, pages are INCREDIBLY slow to load, and the error remains frequent (can't tell if this possible respite is just temporary, or even mere wishful thinking on my part). In any case, though, my original problem hasn't been solved yet.

• Gargoyle https router logon not working after version 27, when I try and logon it just says the connection was reset. works fine with 27.0.1 must be a bug

I use a Gargoyle quota management router which has web access through https. It works fine with Firefox version 27.0.1 , and has worked for years with no problems. Somewhere after version 27.0.1 a bug was introduced which prooduces the error message "Problem loading page, The connection was reset, The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading" each time I go to the routers address. Reverting to 27.0.1 fixes the problem and it also works fine with Interney Explorer so it is not a firewall problem.

HI techman88,
Thank you for your question. I understand that the password for your router is no longer working in Firefox 27. Please download the new version of Firefox from your working browser and reset the profile.
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*Windows:
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Installing Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found here.
<b>WARNING:</b> Do not run Firefox's uninstaller or use a third party remover as part of this process, because that could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and saved passwords. <u>These cannot be easily recovered unless they have been backed up to an external device!</u>
To reset Firefox go to about:support and and click Reset Firefox. However if there is a saved password in this profile you can manage the passwords under Options > Security> Passwords. Please check this out as well.

w/ this latest version, getting MANY "the connection was reset" pages, plus VERY VERY VERY slow loading. I'm running Windows 7 on a new Dell. What is up w/ that?
I don't know how else to phrase that. I'm a pretty good user, but after defragging, backing up, and getting rid of a bunch of files that "may" slow down performance of firefox, the fact is, "the connection was reset" comes up five or six times a day--AND the browser is going slow as molasses. I haven't had this much trouble since before I got my new dell.

hello whatagem123, it is never a good idea to stick with outdated versions of firefox just for the sake of addons, as this will put the integrity of your system and your the personal data on it at risk - there are various known security vulnerabilities (some of them highly critical) that were fixed in later versions!
so please Update Firefox to the latest version & update your plugins (your java plugin has security vulnerabilities that are actively and widely exploited on the web).
afterwards i'd recommend resetting firefox - this will keep your bookmarks and passwords but will get rid of most other customizations. this might well fix both the issues you've described in your question...

• The connection was reset whilst the page was loading

For the last 4 days i've been unable to connect to IGN ever since their server went down for about 5 minutes. I keep getting "The connection was reset whilst the page was loading."
I've cleared my recent history, cookies and even rebooted my computer and modem. I don't know what else to do in order to get IGN to work again, I know it isn't down... just no way it would be down 4+ days even if it was currently down as of typing (which it isn't). What else can I do in order to get it working again? This also happens on all browsers, not just Firefox.
Thanks

The site is live.
In Firefox Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings, please try selecting No Proxy, if anything else is selected.
Also, check if you can do a tracert ign.com in a command window (Windows key + R, type cmd and OK). If there are errors the ISP may be blocking the site.

I receive the "connection was reset" message on 90% of my attempts to visit websites. All sites are bookmarked and safe. I printed out all help information and tried the forum. I am using Windows 8.1. Some of the help instructions seem to be for XP or another OS. The directions do not have certain locations in the help instructions on Win. 8.
I really have enjoyed Firefox over Internet Explorer but it is really frustrating to have this happening all the time.

• Experiencing near-constant the connection was reset error.

For about the last 3 months, I've had two seemingly-related problems: 1] "The connection was reset/interrupted" error; and 2] web pages loading in a primitive, odd-looking form. Both used to occur every once in a while, but now they're near-constant, to the point that doing anything online is at best a struggle and at worst impossible. The error is especially bad: makes it extremely difficult to reach a web page, load it completely, or do anything should I ever get there (searches, clicking links, etc.). Might be even worse with some sites than others, but it's hard to tell-- seems pretty bad wherever I go on the web. As far as I can tell, this started when I was still using Waterfox, and updated to 32.0.3; I recently switched back to Firefox in hopes of escaping it, but found the same thing happening there. I've tried the suggestions given in the forums (like clearing the cache, removing cookies, pressing Shift while reloading, pressing Ctrl + F5 [for Windows], etc.), as well as uninstalling and re-installing Waterfox, but nothing works. Since my own computer skills are modest at best, I've pretty much run out of troubleshooting options at this point. What I'm looking for is a solution to this, rather than just ways of coping with it. Does anyone know what's wrong and how to fix it? Will it be solved by the next Firefox update? And is there another browser you can recommend as a replacement for Firefox? I'm really at the end of my rope here; please help!
As of 02/26/15, still having the same problem. I've tried scanning for malware (didn't find any) and configuring Windows firewall for Firefox (made no difference). I've noticed that there's a more accurate description for what I'm experiencing than the one I originally posted: web pages can rarely finish loading anymore, unless they're very short (and often not even then)-- if I wait for them to do so, the error usually occurs. Some are usable if I stop the loading process before the error shows up, but many (most?) won't work that way (not enough ever makes it onscreen). Seems like this site is largely unaffected, but places like rogerebert.com or TV Tropes are pretty much inaccessible to me now. Is anybody still interested in helping me solve this? Because I'm about ready to give up on Firefox for good at this point. Please save me from resorting to Google Chrome or, god forbid, Internet Explorer!
