RV180W firmware 1.0.2.6

http://software.cisco.com/download/release.html?mdfid=284005928&softwareid=282487380&release=1.0.2.6&relind=AVAILABLE&rellifecycle=&reltype=latest

After upgrading to 1.0.2.6 firmware, the Static DHCP ADD, EDIT, etc. buttons disappeared along with all associated functionality.  From the "Available LAN" search, it showed that some of the originally entered DHCP clients were still listed as static while the rest reverted to dynamic.  However, now there is no way to edit or add new entries.
Buttons disapearing from the UI has nothing to  do with configuration settings.  It seems to me that this latest 1.0.2.6 version is still BUG ridden.
WHEN CAN WE EXPECT THE NEXT RELEASE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE?

  • RV180W Firmware Update

    I saw a post with a response stating that a new RV180W firmware would be released by end of 2013.
    It was part of the RV220W posts.  I can't find that post but we (community) really need a update that fixes these issues like 100% CPU, selective logging  ect....
    It would also be nice if features from older routers could be added.
    For example, I'm missing some of the logging features from my old WVRS4400N 1.1.13. Like having a firewall rule that you can check to have it logged.!
    For example:
    Oct 6 05:56:29 - [Access Log Log i7] Allow TCP Packet - 10.0.1.220:52450 --> 208.68.240.20:80
    OR
    Oct 5 06:50:27 - [Access Log 128higher] Deny TCP Packet - 192.168.2.130:62696 --> 17.149.36.208:5223
    Steve

    Steven,
    I also remeber seeing this post.
    I think the post was in relation to the Device Emulators which have been running 1.0.3.14 since before Christmas.
    The Cisco response was the the new release was expected "by the end of the month" (December 2013). Now, another month on, there is still no sign of it (although there have been updates for other routers in the RV range).
    As I've discussed on here before the RV180 is a great piece of hardware- however the support updates and bug fixes have been terribly slow. It certainly prevents this being the world class product you might expect from Cisco.
    Cisco,
    Any updates on the next release and what it might address in terms of bug fixes and new features?
    Kind Regards,
    Andy.

  • RV180W firmware 1.0.5.4 DHCP lease problem

    Yesterday I upgraded my RV180W to firmware 1.0.5.4. Today the only machine that we have with XP can't get a DHCP lease (we have some 20 machines that can that all have W7 o W8.1). Also none of the iPhones nor Androids that connect via wifi get leases either and thus have fallen back to 3G.

    Hello,
    First of all I want to say that I'm sorry you are experiencing an issue with the device after the firmware upgrade.
    Now, we have tested this device with the new firmware on our lab and we are not experiencing the same issue, which leads me to believe this may be an issue with your particular configuration or network topology.
    We would love to have the opportunity to troubleshoot this issue on the Small Business Support Center. If you are still under support with the device, give us a call and we will be happy to assist you.
    If you are not able to or are out of support, then please provide as much information as possible in regards to your current configuration as well as network topology, maybe a detailed network diagram could be helpful to so that we can have a better idea of that the issue could be.
    I hope this was helpful.

  • Download and Install RV180W Firmware Upgrade

    I received a warning when I accessed the router site which indicated;
    "Your connection is not private
    Attackers might be trying to steal your information from 192.168.50.1 (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards)."
    I have downloaded the firmware upgrade.  However, when I execute the file, it executes a command to burn file to my DVD drive.
    When allow the command to proceed, window returns the following;
    "The selected disc image file isn't valid."
    Any suggestions on how to proceed with upgrading the firmware.

    Hi,
    Please follow the procedure mentioned below to proceed with upgrading the firmware
    Upgrading Firmware
    Cisco RV180/RV180W Administration Guide
    Upgrading Firmware
    CAUTION During a firmware upgrade, do not try to go online, turn off the device, shut down
    the PC, or interrupt the process in any way until the operation is complete. This
    process takes about a minute, including the reboot process. Interrupting the
    upgrade process at specific points when the flash is being written to may corrupt
    the flash memory and render the router unusable.
    You can upgrade to a newer firmware version from the Administration > Firmware
    Upgrade page. To upgrade:
    STEP 1 Click Browse, locate and select the downloaded firmware, and click Upload.
    STEP 2 (Optional) Check the box to reset all configuration and settings to the default
    values. Do not check this box if you want to keep any settings you have changed
    on the router!
    STEP 3 Click Start Firmware Upgrade. After the new firmware image is validated, the new
    image is written to flash, and the router is automatically rebooted with the new
    firmware. Choose Status > System Summary to make sure the router installed the
    new firmware version.
    And then to reboot it
    To reboot the router, choose Administration > Reboot Router. Click Reboot.

  • Router RV180W: Firmware crash

                       Hi
    I have a problem with my new RV180W, the firmware crashes after at few days.
    The wireless SSID shows up, but connection fails.
    The administration the web interface is not responding (wired interface).
    Only a power down/up can resolve the problem. (for at few days).
    I have tried all 3 availble firmware versions, with equal results.
    I can replicate the fault quickly if there is much traffic on wireless LAN
    My setup is:
    WAN: Default with hardcoded ip-adress (No DHCP), NAT
    Wireless: 20/40 MHz Channel 2, WPA2-PSK
    Router DHCP server: Disable.
    A number of Port mappings.
    LAN: Intern adress of router is set to 192.168.100.254 Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Most other settings is default.
    Sincerely,
    Jens C J Ballegaard

    Hi jens, my name is Luis I am part of the Small business Support community. I apologize for all this situation you are having, this kind of issues could be related to performance issues, MTU size, CPU overload.
    Well, I will advise you to keep your firmware 1.0.2.6, also you could try changing the MTU size using from 1450 to 1500 you can test some different sizes.
    Let me know if those steps fixed your issue.
    I hope you find this answer useful

  • 100% CPU usage. RV180W Firmware Version 1.0.2.6

    Since I updated to Firmware Version 1.0.2.6 cpu usage shows 100% with no sing of lowering.
    So since 2 days now its always runngin at full speeds for no reason.
    Firmware Update, Factory Reset, Setup as before. => 100% CPU
    Is this a common problem? Is there any fix for that? Or at least a way to get informations what causes this?

    Hi,
    i've installed the new firmware on my router and now the UC is showing 100% all the time
    I've tried to factory reset it, it's doing the same thing
    If I downgrade to previous firmware, it goes back to normal
    I've only 1 PC in my network (test lab), so no big traffic here.
    is it a bug ?

  • RV180W firmware bug??

    I upgraded my RV180 to 1.0.2.6 over the weekend- factory reset and then another hour or so reconfiguring.
    I seem to have another issue after the upgrade. The "System", "Available LAN Hosts" option hangs when I select it. It does this both from Crome and also from Firefox- I can't try IE in Windows 8 because of other issues with IE 10 compatibility.
    Anyone else seen this behaviour? Is this another bug for the long, slowly being resolved list?
    I haven't had a chance to try port forwarding yet- I can't imagine what fun I'll have trying to make that work.......
    Come on Cisco- nice hardware- how about sorting out this software?
    Andy.

    Christian,
    Thanks for the feedback.
    I've tested it again this morning- in my configuration it took 14 minutes to display the "Available LAN Hosts" table using firefox.
    Unacceptably slow I would say.
    Cisco,
    Can this be raised as yet another bug for your teams to look at?
    Andy.

  • CPU 100% RV180W

    Hi there,
    We purchased 3 products RV180W.
    I have seen two posts reporting the error, unresolved.
    I installed the latest firmware available for the RV180W but it remains that the device's CPU is at 100% constantly.
    They also appear in the log a lot of mistakes that I can not read, it is blank.
    Thank you very much.

  • RV180W and WAN Traffic Meter (bug?)

    Hi!
    I have rv180w (firmware 1.0.1.9) and 1 Gbit/s internet.
    When i turn on WAN Traffic meter, WAN speed down to 100mbit/s.
    I didn't find any suggestions in official documentation.
    Is this a bug or undocumented feature?

    Hello, this is a documented issue
    WAN Download won't exceed 60Mbps for the RV180 when WAN Traffic Meter is enable.
    WAN Download won't exceed 90Mbps for the RV180W when WAN Traffic Meter is enable.

  • RV-180W Certicate Errors with URL Blocking Feature

    I like to use „URL Blocking“ with keywords in the firewall properties. When I activate this feauture, I get errors from the router certificate when I browsing to any site in the Internet.
    Is there a way to manage this problem without using a public certificate?
    RV180W-Firmware-1.0.1.9

    Hi Stefan,
    You can´t block https sites in your router, if you want to do that, you could use a third party software such Protect link or Opendns, however if you already rebooted your router and configured manually twice and it still not working you, can you please reach out to our Small Business Support Center and open a Service Request to address this issue? One of our Engineers may be able to work with you and diagnose the root cause. You can find the appropriate contact information for SBSC in the below link.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/support/tsd_cisco_small_business_support_center_contacts.html , you can also confirm if this is a bug. I encourage you to share the answer with the community, it would benefit us. I hope you find this answer useful,

  • RV180W with 1.0.2.6 Firmware - Static DHCP problem

    Today I installed the 1.0.2.6 Firmware on a RV180W. I only have now two problems regarding the Static DHCP support in the GUI.
    1. Via the Networking > LAN (Local Network) > Static DHCP I have no buttons to Add a new static Lease.
    2. Via the Networking > LAN (Local Network) > DHCP Lease Clients I can thick a Lease and click on Make Static IP. The result is an error: Operation failed.
    Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

    Static DHCP page – missing buttons Add, Edit, Delete since some f/w update.
    Apparently Cisco has changed syntax since some f/w version I don't remember.
    Fix:
    1. Backup unit's settings. Use some editor to check that the syntax for the section DhcpfixedIpAddress is correct in the configuration file. The main clue is a new variable "Name". An example bellow displays 2 lines in Static DHCP page. If necessary make changes most likely including upper/lower case conversion for MacAddr and the lines order.
    2. Change checksum to 0.
    systemConfig[1]["checksum"]="0"
    3. Restore unit's settings from the edited configuration file. I have got missing buttons back only after the above procedure. Any other suggested solutions didn't work for me.
    Correct syntax for newer firmware:
    ifStatic[4]["SecondaryDns"] = ""
    DhcpfixedIpAddress = {}
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[1] = {}
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[1]["MacAddr"] = "bc:ee:7b:e3:3b:0a"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[1]["Name"] = "Computer01"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[1]["IpAddr"] = "192.168.1.100"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[1]["LogicalIfName"] = "LAN"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[1]["_ROWID_"] = "1"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[2] = {}
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[2]["MacAddr"] = "00:15:e9:6a:0f:15"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[2]["Name"] = "Unknown"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[2]["IpAddr"] = "192.168.1.101"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[2]["LogicalIfName"] = "LAN"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[2]["_ROWID_"] = "2"
    DhcpLdapServerInfo = {}
    Old syntax incompatible with newer firmware:
    ifStatic[4]["SecondaryDns"] = ""
    DhcpfixedIpAddress = {}
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[1] = {}
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[1]["IpAddr"] = "192.168.1.100"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[1]["LogicalIfName"] = "LAN"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[1]["_ROWID_"] = "1"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[1]["MacAddr"] = "BC:EE:7B:E3:3B:0A"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[2] = {}
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[2]["IpAddr"] = "192.168.1.101"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[2]["LogicalIfName"] = "LAN"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[2]["_ROWID_"] = "2"
    DhcpfixedIpAddress[2]["MacAddr"] = "00:15:E9:6A:0F:15"
    DhcpLdapServerInfo = {}
