[RV220W] WI-FI CONNECTION AT 300 mbps

Hello guys,
are any of you can connect via wifi to the router Cisco RV220W to 300mbps? With what configuration (auto-mode or manual)? I am unable to connect at 150 mbps sometimes but no more. thanks
Daniele

I also get 300Mbps @ 2.4GHz.
All at default settings so your "problem" is probably with your NIC, how old is it ?
Those 2 tests were made using the built-in Atheros in an HP computer and I also get excellent connection with a TPLINK/USB 2.0. I only get 150 Mbps with this one but that computer is far from the router.

  • Why is my ipod touch 4g only connecting at 54 mbps?

My ipod touch 4g has been slow here lately downloading apps and such. So I have an app that analyzes the wifi and it shows im only connecting at 54 mbps. I know the ipod touch 4g is able to connect to wireless n running at 150 mbps on the 2.4 ghz band. Why is it not using it? Is this why it's so slow? also my battery drains quick it seems. I just replaced my netgear wgr614 with a Belkin N600 DB for the dual band N now I know the ipod cant utilize the 300 mbps on the 5 ghz channel. I bought this router because the Ipad 2 needed it. My ipad 2 would cut out and drop signal in my bedroom now signal is great and stays great and it works on the 5 ghz channel. Long story short can't hook up no more tv's to my cable signal I have one tv and my cable modem on one splitter only one outlet in the whole apartment. I was told if I ran another tv it would kill the signal. So i figured get an Ipad 2 and use the Time warner app and watch live tv that way. It works like a charm now where as on my G router it would cut out and buffer a lot. I'm just trying to wonder why the Ipod touch 4g can't utilize the 150 mbps N 2.4 ghz band. Any ideas or anything I can do? I tried resetting network settings on the Ipod with no luck no change. My router is using WPA-2 PSK AES if that makes a difference. my internet is 10 meg with powerboost roadrunner. Also the wireless channels are on 1 and 6

The % battery is not accurate.
If a full charge only last 30 minutes after restoring to factory setting/new iPod that indicates a bad battery.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one with a new battery for $79. They do not fix yours.

    Hi,
Anyone using Cisco LAP1142N without Wireless LAN Controller and getting 300mbps throughput? I am only using 5 GHz (Manually Disabled 2.4) but i am getting only 144 mbps max throughtput. It would be great if someone can help me to achive around 300 mbps from this AP.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, using Authentication-> open. Under the Radio interface using Channel Width 40-above. Checked with a laptop and it connects with 144 mbps and not getting more then that.

  • Asymetric etherchannel 700/300 Mbps

Hi all. I need to boost a connection between 2 routers. I have now 700mbps l2 connection. We have created another 300 mbps l2 connection.
Is there any way to make asymetric ether channel and have a single 1 gig channel over it?
if yes how can i loadbalance it? How to define to not use slower link no more than 300mbps?
this ether channel must support trunk and good stability and jitter for iptv.
any ideas to make it on L2
    we are using cat 3560x - 2960s or 3560x-3650
    thank you

    Hi,
How are you getting 700 and 300Mbps?  Are these Gig or 100Mb interfaces?
The interfaces on the 3560x are 10/100/1000 and the uplinks can be 1Gig or 10Gig.
what is the current design look like?

  • How to Connect Early 2011 MBP 13" to Apple 20" Cinema Display at 1680x1050?

My early 2011 MacBookPro will only display 1280x800 on an external Apple 20" Cinema Display. The MBP's specs say that it will support dual displays and video mirroring simultaneously at full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 2560x1600 on an external display. The 20" Cinema Display specs indicates that it supports an optimum resolution of 1680x1050. The 20" display is connected to the MBP through it's Thunderbolt port using an Apple Mini Display Port to DVI connector. No luck.
I've tried using the latest version of SwitchResX set to 1680x1050. It says it is configured to 1680x1050 but the display does not respond.
Anyone had success setting up this combination of MPB and Cinema Display at the max resolution of 1680x1050?

To clarify. The MacBook Pro displays 1280x800 and the Apple Cinema Display mirrors it at 1280x800. I cannot get the ACD to display at it's max capable resolution of 1680x1050.
The MPB has 16GB ram so 512 SDRAM is available to the Intel HD Graphics 3000 chipset.

  • Does an external hard drive ALWAYS need to be connected to my mbp with retina display for Time Machine?

Does an external hard drive ALWAYS need to be connected to my mbp (OS 10.10.1) with retina display for Time Machine? Or can it be connected once a week or whenever I want? I used to have an external drive always connected to my previous mbp, but it made moving my mbp around a bit of a hassle with it connected...

When the backup drive is not connected, some of the free space on the internal drive will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. Local snapshots will protect you from unintended file deletions, but not from a drive failure. You should only go as long between backups as you're willing to lose data. If losing a week's worth of work is acceptable to you, then that backup frequency is OK. Otherwise, it isn't.

  • Problems when connecting and disconnecting MBP and TBD

    Hello,
I have problems with connecting and disconnecting my macbook pro retina 13" to my thunderbolt display. Everytime I disconnect my MBP form my TBD with the lid closed it takes approximately 10 seconds until my MBP has recognized that the TBD is no longer connected and the MBP screens turns on.
On the other hand I also have a problem when I reconnect my MBP to my TBD. Approximately every second time my MBP does not recognize that the TBD is connected again and neither the MBP nor the TBD turns on. The small light on the power cabel of my TBD does not light up. It is as the TBD would'nt have any power. Pushing buttons on my Apple Bluethooth doesnt help. I have to disconnect and reconnect the thunderbolt and the power connector a coupl of times until the MBP finally recognizes the TBD and turns on. In some cases a different background picture is shown on the TBD than the one I usually have on my MBP.
The problem is very annoying especially because I connect and disconnect both devices and it really costs time.
I really hope there's someone who can help with the problem. Do you think this may be hardware problem of my MBP or TBD?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    HI there,
The first thing I would recommend is checking for any new software updates while using the display, this will check for any available firmware updates for the display. If you continue to experience issues, then you may want to take a look at the article below for some further troubleshooting steps.

  • What is the best way to connect my new MBP to monitor - DVI, VGA or HDMI

What is the best way to connect my new MBP to a computer monitor?  DVI, VGA or HDMI?  Thanks

I recommend the Apple MiniDisplay Port to DVI adaptor.  I would avoid VGA.  MiniDisplay Port to HDMI will work as well (3rd party).

  • Upgrade 10 Mbps connection to 100 Mbps

I replaced my old PC (pentium 4) with a new PC (quad core) in my network (Xbox360 (wired), Wii (wireless), Laptop (wireless) and this PC (wired) on a WRTP54G Voip Router). With my old PC I had no problems, but now I get the message network cable not connected on my new PC. The solution is to reduce my speed from the 1GB Nvidia LAN to 10Mbps full duplex instead of automatic (100 Mbps didn't work). Now it connects to my router, network and internet with 10 Mbps, but this connection is too slow for my network. When I connect my laptop directly with the PC I will get a 100 Mbps connection. And when I connect my Laptop to the router with the same cable as the PC, I also get a 100 Mbps connection.
Can someone explain the difference between half duplex and full duplex speed?
Is there a solution to get the connection to 100 Mbps?
Message Edited by 2J on 07-07-2008 06:03 AM

Full Duplex = your NIC can send and receive data at the same time. A telephone is an example of full duplex, both parties can talk/here at the same time.
Half Duplex = your NIC will either send or receive data but will not do both at the same time. A walkie talkie is an example of Half-Duplex, only one person can transmit at a time.
Sorry I do not deal with the gaming part at all, so I do not have a solution, however if I come across an answer I will certainly post it.
    Good Luck,

  • Using a Display connected to my MBP creating issues

I hve a display connected to my MBP running Snow Leopard, and i have no issue when the MBP is open, and both screens mirrior just fine, my problem is I want to close the cover of the MBP and just view the external display, but when I try it puts the MBP to sleep, and nothing I do can wake it up, short of restarting the MBP. I have zaped the pram, shut down the MBP, disconncted the power for 15 sec, restarted.
    What else can i do?

  • Very slow wifi connection on my MBP

I'm having problems with my wifi connection on my MBP. My iPad, iPhone and iPod all work absolutely fine but for some reason I have a very slow connection on the MBP. If I connect it to the router with a wire it's fine so it's definitely the wifi.
The only other thing that's changed recently is our Internet package. But this hasn't effected any of my other devices and we actually upgraded our package so I think that's coincidental.
Is it a known problem with MBPs? Should I take it to the genius bar or is there a simple solution.
    Thanks in advance

thanks for the tip. unfortunately, removing the security from the router isn't an option as it isn't even my router (my roommate owns it and would never allow that to happen).
the thing that is perplexing is that it hasn't always been slow - this just started happening within the last two weeks. one could assume that if one computer experiences a slow internet connection, the other would as well if they are both going through the same router. secondly, the connection strength, despite it being slow, is at the maximum. finally, if i connect to any other network at school or coffee shop, the connection is fast. there's obviouly something specific to my MBP and the router that the computer doesn't like, which is causing the lag.
maybe my MBP doesn't like the channel that the router is set to. i'll look into getting it switched as it may be the root of the problem.

You can only pair an iPhone to a computer, by Bluetooth, for the singular purpose of Tethering.

  • E2000: Can I get 300 Mbps at 2.4GHz?

Hi all. Is it possible to get 300Mbps with the 2.5GHz band? If no why? If yes, How? I only got 300 Mbps using the 5 GHz band but I need to stick with the 2.4 one since some of my devices don't support the 5GHz band. Thanks

Thanks for your comment, I just realized because of you that my wireless adapter was set to use only 20MHz width. Maybe that is why. I'll try again tonight when I get home.

  • New MBP -- Wireless Connectivity Inconsistent (Despite MBP's Claims)

Have a new MBP, running 10.5.6 straight out of the box. All essential system updates have been downloaded and installed (one FCE update remains undownloaded). The Airport connection is tenuous -- it will stay connected to the internet for hours at a time, and then go out repeatedly. Every time it goes out, diagnostics claim it is connected, as does the Network dialogue in System Preferences, even when it is impossible to load any web page (or complete system update downloads!).
    A few things:
    1. At no point does the MBP indicate that it has lost a connection to the wireless network.
    2. While internet connection is lost on MBP, I am still able to connect wirelessly with my Powerbook, implying that internet connection/router/ISP is not to blame.
    3. I tried entering IP information manually, but to no avail. On a lark, I switched the IP address of the MBP with the PB, but PB continued to be able to connect to internet while MBP struggled.
    4. While internet connection via my secure wireless network is lost on MBP, I am able to connect MBP to a nearby unsecured wireless network (presumably a neighbor's). I have purposely not maintained connection to this wireless network for long stretches (though I'm using it now to compose this query), so I don't know that the connectivity issues are absent when connected to it, but I have not experienced any inconsistency when connected to it, even in phases when I am experiencing inconsistency with my secure network.
    5. My network is secured by way of a WEP 128-bit hexadecimal password. However, the settings under Network in System Preferences insist on calling it a WEP password, no matter how many times I change it to WEP 128 hex.
    6. On a couple of occasions, when experiencing proper connectivity on my secure network, I have tried locking the Network settings in System Preferences. Paradoxically, doing this seems to immediately disconnect me from the internet.
That's all I can think of for now. This problem seems not unrelated to some other problems described in messageboards across the web, but I didn't see anyone outline the problem in the exact way that I've experienced it (nor have I seen a sure-fire solution posted to the problems I have read about).

Folks: *there may be a power/signal issue going on here.* I had a similar problem of my network connection dragging to practically nothing when hooking up my LaCie external drive to the USB port. Please see my post below (link and text)
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9914924#9914924
    Folks:
Apple needs to get on this issue fast; after turning off my N mode on my WRT160N Linksys Router, I got my packet speed back up to where it should be... HOWEVER I noticed another problem.
When I hooked up my LaCie external drive (connected via USB), my packets on PING practically stall to nothing. I then eject the external USB drive and re-ping and I get acceptable packet speeds; I re-connect the LaCie external drive to the USB port and my PING crawls to nothing.
There is CLEARLY a correlation between the network speed crawling to nothing while hooking up an external drive; possibly a power sink and/or signal interference on the Airport when hooking up a USB device? (or perhaps even Firewire 800 too?)
I sure hope Apple is reading this one, because this could be a MAJOR issue that needs to be fixed ASAP.
