RVS4000 Multiple VLANs Not Routing

I have a couple RVS4000's and I use one of them as a router on a stick with two VLANs in it.
Two VLANs works fine.
However, when I add another VLAN, it will not route it.
I looked in the routing table and it doesn't show any routes for the new VLAN.
I can see the routes for the other two VLANs but my third VLAN is nonexistent.
The most I can get it to do is ping the routers VLAN IP interface.
I can't access the switches' interface on that VLAN or anything else on the new VLAN.
Is this a known problem?
Does this thing only route two VLANs?

Thanks for the quick reply...
Here is what I'm working with now (currently works):
Cable Modem 1 ---> RVS4000 (Master) ---> Swtich (L3)
Cable Modem 2 ---> RVS4000 (No VLANs) ----> Switch (L3)
The Master RVS4000 routes all the VLANs (Trunk) and NAT/PAT Internet for the servers.
The Other RVS4000 is just running the default VLAN and routes NAT/PAT Internet for the clients.
The L3 switch is an SGE2010P and I distrubte the VLANs through this switch.
I also have a WAP4410N that is trunked to the Client VLAN right now.
IP Addressing:
RVS4000 (Master): 10.1.0.1/24 (VLAN 1)
                             10.100.0.2/24 (VLAN 100)
RVS4000 (Clients): 10.100.0.1/24 (VLAN 1 - Router is not aware of the VLANs)
Switch: 10.1.0.254 (VLAN 1)
            10.100.0.254 (VLAN 100)
The problem is when I make another VLAN:
RVS4000 (Master): 10.110.0.2 (VLAN 110)
Switch: 10.110.0.254 (VLAN 110)
I am unable to communicate with the new network.
Nothing shows up in the RVS40000 (Master)'s routing table for the new network.

  • Multiple DHCP on Multiple VLAN not working

    Hi there;
In my core network switch, I have multiple VLANs, I have these command to assign to DHCP pools.  I configured a port on my core switch for DMZ_VLAN and when I connect my computer to this port, I can get the ip address from the dmz_vlan dhcp pool.  Because I assigned an IP address to the interface of vlan 192, then I found that one of my server "192.168.0.100" connection dropped, I cannot ping this server on the dmz VLAN, and it cannot provide the http service as usual until I remove the "interface vlan 192" from the switch.  Why?  However; without this command, I cannot receive the 192.168.0.0 network IP from the pool.
    ip dhcp pool data_vlan1
    network 10.10.1.0 255.255.255.0
    default-router 10.10.1.1
    dns-server 10.10.1.100 10.10.1.101
    domain-name company.local
    lease 7
    ip dhcp pool dmz_vlan
    network 192.168.0.0 255.255.255.0
    default-router 192.168.0.1
    dns-server 8.8.8.8 4.2.2.2
    domain-name company.com
    lease 7
    interface vlan 10
    ip address 10.10.1.254
    interface vlan 192
    ip address 192.168.0.254

Sorry for the delay as I got busy with work. If your layer 3 switch is the default gateway for VLAN 192 then the default-router for the DHCP scope should be the IP address of the layer 3 switch interface (192.168.0.254). With that being said, the FW DMZ_192 interface, the switch SVI for VLAN 192  and the DMZ server should all be in the same broadcast domain, thus they should be able to reach each other.
So, can you confirm with me exactly what does not work on the server configured with VLAN 192 and a static IP? For instance,
    1. Can you ping the server from the L3 switch
    2. Can you ping the server from the FW
    3. Can the server ping 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.254
    4. Can the server ping the outside world? For instance, www.google.com and 4.2.2.2
    5. Have you tried taking a test PC, connecting to the switchport configured for VLAN 192 and see if you get an IP address from the DHCP scope

  • GRC AC 10 SP13 - workflow not routing to multiple role owners

    hello
We are experiencing issues in our production MSMP workflow where an access request with multiple business roles are not being routed to role owners after manager approval. The request contains four business roles. Three business roles have three different role owners. The fourth business role does not have a role owner assigned. After the manager approves the request, the business role without a role owner does not provision. The other three business roles do not route to their respective role owners. We have tested the same scenario in our development environment and it routes properly. I have validated our MSMP workflow settings in production and validated it was activated. I have also checked the instance monitor via GRFNMW_DBGMONITOR_WD and it does not give an indication why the request isn't routing.
Any ideas why we are seeing this? Below is a screen shot of the audit log.

    Hi Stacey
If DEV is working and PRD is not have you gone through and compared both and ensure latest MSMP configuration in PRD has been activated?
Also, is the approver COCHGG00 also the Role Owner?
Are you able to show you MSMP configuration? It's makes sense to analyse the log in the context of your configuration. E.g. does the Z_ADDTNL_ACCESS_PATH path have two stages: Manager and Role Owner of which there is a routing rule on the Manager approval to go to the NO_ROLE_OWNER path where the business role has no role owner?

  • Multiple vlans configuration issue with RV016 router and SG 300-10MP witch

    Hi,
I have to configure multiple vlans served with a unique DCHP server . As first step, I just will The DHCP server to serve 2 vlans. The following is the hardware and configuration that I implemented :
Router (RV016 10/100 16-Port VPN Router) as gateway mode:
    IP : 172.16.0.1/24
    DHCP Server :
    IP : 172.16.0.2/24 GW: 172.16.0.1
    2 subnets :
    172.16.1.0/24 GW: 172.16.1.1 to serve vlan 1
    172.16.2.0/24 GW:172.16.2.1 to serve vlan 2
Switch (SG 300-10MP 10-Port Gigabit PoE Managed Switch) as layer 3 mode:
    IP 172.16.0.254 (vlan 8 default)
    Vlan 1 : 172.16.1.1
    Vlan 2 : 172.16.2.1
1 device connected on each vlan
a workstation on the vlan 1
a laptop on the vlan 2
In this scenario (see the attached pdf file) the DHCP server is connected on a router, hosts on vlans dont receive any IP address.
But If I connect the DHCP server on a trunked switch port and adapt the DHCP server gateway 172.16.0.1 to 172.16.0.254, hosts receive ip address properly.
I have to connect the DHCP server directly to the router. How can I do that, what is wrong in the configuration ?
I hope the explanations are clear enough and my English too
Any help will be highly appreciated,
    Zoubeir

Hi Eric, the small business group doesn't support the ASA config, but  I can help with the switch.
A couple things I notice in your description-
48 port (192.168.1.254) and the other 24P (192.168.1.253)  we have a  second vlan 20 set up on the 24P switch (192.168.2.253)  we have ports  1-12 set for vlan20 (untagged and trunk), the remaining ports on on the  default vlan 1.
The connection between the switches, is it 1u, 2t?
The link between the switches should be 1u, 2t, the switches support the trunking and vlan tagging, meaning all communication will work fine.
We have the 24p and 48p switches connect using GE1 and GE1.  We are unable to ping a device on vlan 20 ( on the 24p switch
The 24p switch should be in layer 2 mode, if you have the 48 port l3 switch upstream. Additionally, you need to have the default gateway set on the 24p switch.
We have a static route set on the 24p switch (0.0.0.0 192.168.1.0).
Between the switches, it shouldn't require any static routes, assuming you correctly trunk / tag your ge1 ports, with both switches operating in l3, the ip route table dynamically builds the connected routes, therefore a static route is redundant.

  • DHCP Setup across multiple VLANs on RV325 - DHCP Server only working on VLAN 1

I have multiple VLAN subnets defined on my RV325 - when I try and utilize a DHCP Server on each VLAN, it only seems to be issuing IP Addresses to clients on VLAN ID 1.  When I first set this up months ago, I thought I had tested it providing IP Addresses via the other subnets.  Now that I am trying to do so, it isn't working "as expected".  Example - I am using VLAN 25 as the GuestWireless subnet utilizing a separate 802.11n WAP that is set to Bridge connections to the IP Address of the VLAN interface.  Devices are able to connect to the WAP, but end up with a self-assigned IP Address 169.x.x.x address.  There has to be an easy fix to this, but I seem to be "stuck" figuring out what it is…pointers/redirects appreciated.  Thanks!

Thanks - I've already reviewed that information before I posted.  I've been working with DHCP since the mid-90's, so I'm comfortable with the settings/configuration I need to leverage to make this work via other means using various Network-based OSes.
I'm wondering if there are other options in configuring this device that can impact the ability to dynamically serve IP addresses on a VLAN/subnet-by-VLAN/subnet basis.
As I did more testing, I discovered when I reserved an IP Address via the IP & MAC Binding option within the DHCP Settings, those devices would receive their static reservations and work as expected, so the problem seems to be leveraging the DHCP Pool for devices connecting to VLANs other that VLAN 1.
Any ideas as to why the DHCP Pool's are "non-functioning" for the other VLANs is greatly appreciated...
Each VLAN is setup with a separate DHCP Server configuration as shown below:

  • DLSW ethernet redundancy for multiple vlans

Can dlsw ethernet redundancy support mutliple vlans with the following configuration?
host dlsw router1 host dlsw router2
    | |
local dlsw router 1 local dlsw router2
    | |
    ethernet switch1-------ethernet switch2
Ethernet switch1 and 2 are supporting multiple vlans and connected to local dlsw router1 and 2 through 802.1Q. SNA support is required for the vlans of ethernet switch1 and 2 .
We found that configuration of dlsw ethernet redundancy is not allowed on the 802.1Q sub-interface of the local dlsw router1 and 2. In this case, how can dlsw ethernet redundancy can be supported for SNA server attached to multiple vlans? Can you provide us some reference / sample for dlsw ethernet redundancy to support SNA servers attached to different vlans in a switch environment.
    Thanks.

I think that I understand the problem. I am thinking the following:
    dlsw local-peer peer-id 2.2.2.2 promiscuous
    dlsw transparent switch-support
    interface Ethernet0
    mac-address 0000.3333.3333
    dlsw transparent redundancy-enable 9999.9999.9999 master-priority 10
    dlsw transparent map local-mac 0000.6666.0000 remote-mac 0200.eca2.0000 neighbor 0000.5555.5555
    interface Ethernet1
    mac-address 0000.4444.4444
    dlsw transparent redundancy-enable 9999.9999.0001 master-priority 10
    dlsw transparent map local-mac 0000.6666.0001 remote-mac 0200.eca2.0000 neighbor 0000.7777.7777
Of course, you need an ethernet interface per VLAN. If you need DLSw ER over dot1q interface, please contact the local Cisco Sales Rep or partner. You are not the first one to ask for it. Hope that there is a strong business case to initiate the new feature.

  • Multiple VLAN Access for PC

I work in a building that has two separate entities, but both work together to accomplish the same goals. The IT admin before me set us up on separate VLANs through many cisco switches. One lady that works here does work for both entities. There are server shares that she needs to be able to access on both VLANs to do her work. The way it is now, she does Company A's work in the morning and then moves to another office to do work for Company B. My question is, can I tag her switch port with both VLANs and then just add a secondary IP to her PC NIC so she is able to access the server shares from both VLANs?

If you can't ping anything on the other vlan does that mean each vlan does not route to anywhere else eg. other vlans or the internet.
If they do route to other vlans you may find that there are SVIs for both vlans but they have acls applied in which case you could just modify the acl.
    Or maybe not.
It is doable ie. servers do this all the time but as Rick says it depends on whether the PC supports tagging.
If it does it is really more a question of how to set that up correctly than a networking issue ie. all you need to do on the network side is setup the port on the switch as a trunk allowing both vlans.
There are however a couple of things to be aware of from the network perspective -
    a) if the vlan does route to other subnets then you only want one default gateway ie. the current one. There is  no need for another gateway as the PC would be directly connected to the other network anyway and multiple default gateways can lead to unexpected issues.
    b) you need to make sure you cannot route between vlans on your PC otherwise this could be a security issue. There is no need for the PC to route between these vlans because it has direct connections to both.
From memory when you setup the trunking  there is an option to turn off ip forwarding between those subnets.
Sorry I can't be more specific but it was a while ago that I last did this.

  • Multiple SSID With Multiple VLANs configuration on Cisco Aironet APs: Assotiated clients cannot obtain IP addresses

    Hi Surendra,
I was just given this task to see how i can configure a second ssid for guest access in our environment.
this is our network setup prior to this request: Internet----Firewall (not ASA)---ce520---C1131AG and CME router is also connecting to the ce520 switch. we only have two vlans: one for voice and two for data.
Presently, there is no vlan configured on the AP because it on broadcasting ont ssid and wireless users gets IP from a windows DHCP server on the LAN. the configuration on the ce520 switch port for the AP and other switches say access vlan is the DATA vlan which automatically becomes the native vlan for all trunk port connecting the AP and other Stiches to the network.
Now with this new requirement, i have made my research and i have configured the AP to broadcast both the production and the guest Vlans. The two vlans are 20-DATA and 60-Guest. I made the DATA vlan on the AP the native vlan since the poe switch is using the DATA vlan as native on the trunk ports. I configured the firewall to serve as DHCP server for the guest ssid and i have added the ip helper-address on the guest vlan interface on all switches while the windows server remains the dhcp server for the production DATA Vlan. I have confirmed that the AP, switches can ping the default gateway of the guest dhcp server which is another interface on the firewall. I can now see and connect to all broadcasted ssids but the problem is I am not getting IP addresses from both the production dhcp server and guest dhcp server when i connected to the ssid one at a time.
My AP config is attached below.
Please tell me what am I doing wrong.
Do i need to redesign the whole network to have a native vlan other nthan the data vlan?
Does the access point need to be aware of the voice vlan?
Do the native Vlan on the AP need to be in Bridge-group 1 or can i leave it in bridge-group 20?
I will greatly appreciate your urgent response.
    Thanks in advanced.

    Hi,
As far as i know we dont set the ip helper address on the radio interface. It should be on the L3 interface of corresposding VLANs i.e.
    int vlan 20
    ip helper-address 192.168.33.xxx
    int vlan 60
    ip helper-address 130.20.1.xxx
I'm assuming that your using SVI's (int Vlan 20 and int Vlan 60) rahter than physical interfaces. Also hope you have configured switch port as trunk where this AP is connected.
Modify the AP config as below since you are using data vlan as the native vlan
    interface Dot11Radio0.20
    encapsulation dot1Q 20 native
    interface FastEthernet0.20
    encapsulation dot1Q 20 native
Ideally your AP fastethernet configuration should looks like below and not sure how you missed this as this comes by default when you have multiple vlans for multiple ssids.
    interface FastEthernet0.20
    encapsulation dot1Q 20 native
    no ip route-cache
    bridge-group 20
    no bridge-group 20 source-learning
    bridge-group 20 spanning-disabled
    interface FastEthernet0.60
    encapsulation dot1Q 60
    no ip route-cache
    bridge-group 60
    no bridge-group 60 source-learning
    bridge-group 60 spanning-disabled
    Hope this helps.

  • 3750 - QinQ Multiple VLANS - Vlan mapping

    Hi All,
I have a client that uses vlans that already exist on our network (vlan 1,2,3,99,100,200,250...) nethier of us are in a position to change the numbering at this stage.
3750 stacks are on the client side and on my side
what is the best way to configure QinQ or vlan mapping to connect their network to ours without a major outage?
hypothetically, is there a way to have a Ether Channel and trunk all the client vlans to our VMware infrastructure
    * map vlan 99 on the client side to vlan 299 on my side
    * map vlan 100 on the client side to vlan 298 on my side
    * map vlan 200 on the client side to vlan 297 on my side
    Thank you in advance
I have googled etc and found alot of info on QinQ for access ports / single vlans but not for multiple vlans / trunks

    Janene
The vlan numbering may be the same but what about the IP subnets used per vlan.
If the IP subnets are different why not just route between the two switch stacks then the vlans are not visible to each other.
If you need the throughput you could always use L3 etherchannel for additional links.
You could use static routes between each stack or run a dynamic routing protocol to exchange the routes (dependant on the feature sets on your stacks).
Further advantages would be with L3 each site contains it's own broadcasts and there would be no outage for this.
Obviously if the IP subnets are the same then please ignore the above.

  • Onplus with multiple VLAN

    Hi,
i am trying to set the network agent N100 on a trunk port on a switch (2960) without success regarding dhcp???
The problem is that the agent is not getting any ip address from a dhcp pool from a Cisco 1841 router acting as DHCP server. The topology is like this:
    Router---------------------------------------------------------------------Switch--------------------------------------------------------------------On100
             fa0/0
             fa0/0.10
             fa0/0.20
The router is on the stick with subinterfaces. Ports connecting the router and On100 on the switch are 802.1q trunk ports. I also made a simulation of this topology on the GNS3 and with wireshark i can see  that dhcp discover are comming inbound fa0/0 but when i type the command:
R#show ip dhcp server statistics there are no received dhcp discover packets???It's very strange.
Did any one have experience with multiple vlan topology?
    Thanks

    Delo,
Take a look at the document link below.  Beginning on page 3 contains a sample configuration.  I would recommend reading the entire document to get your arms around the VLAN discovery functionality.  I can appreciate that when reading some of the documentation it can be confusing and lead you to believe that it can discover additional networks using Layer 3 routing.  That said, the one thing to keep in consideration is that OnPlus/ON100, other than the Network Scanning functionality, will not traverse Layer 3 boundaries to do additional discovery/monitoring.  You can manually add devices that are only accessible via Layer 3 and select to do some monitoring on those devices however they must be added manually and it will not attempt to access those devices via SSH/Telnet or SNMP.  As such, it won't do functions like backing up configurations.
OnPlus autodiscovery will only use Layer 2 and that is why you would need the VLAN Trunking with DHCP in each VLAN or to SPAN a switch port.  With VLAN trunking the ON100 will have an IP in the other VLAN and be able to discover devices on that now "local LAN".  With port spanning, the ON100 would discover based on packets it receives.  It can appear a little confusing but as long as  you keep in mind that the ON100 won't discover over a Layer 3, that will help to clarify some of the confusion.

  • WRT160N - does it support multiple vLan configurations?

I'm trying to find more detailed tech. specifications of this thing (WRT160N), but unfortunatelly I get only some basic marketing messages... I need to understand if this router supports vLAN configuration, as I'm thinking to have IPtv and internet on the same. My provider does integrates the IPtv into separate vLAN, but their HW is not too good in other perspectives... So I'm thinking about linksys.
So does it support multiple vLAN configuration (i.e. dedication of separate vLAN to exact port)?

No. VLANs are not supported in Linksys devices. You'll have to look at Cisco Small Business or better.

  • Multiple Vlans on a single port.

    hi,
Can i configure single port with multiple vlans on L2 2950 switch, if yes then what are the commands.
    Thanks,
    Vishal D.

    Paresh,
i think i have not quoted the question properly.
see by doing 'switchport mode trunk' it will flow the traffic of all vlan right.
but if i want to give access of selected vlans then what to do,
i have tried the command 'switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,2,3'
do i have to give encapsulation on that port, but on 2950 encap cannot be configured.
now can u tell me wht is possible to do.
    Thanks for ur reply.
    Vishal.

  • WLC, FlexConnect, ISE: Dynamic VLAN not working

    Hi,
Not sure if this is a WLC or ISE problem, but since I am unsure of the WLC config I will try here first.
    Equipment:
    WiSM2 7.2.111.3
    ISE 1.1.1.268
    AP 3502 in FlexConnect
    What I want to achive:
    One SSID, multiple VLAN
Devices gets profiled in ISE and based on type of device it gets asigned to a VLAN
    Problem:
When the device connects the first time it ends up in native VLAN and not switched to the right VLAN, but when I reconnect then it is added to the right VLAN.
WLC config (I know you like images so here you go ):
I must be missing something but I can't figure out what. I will be attaching a debug aaa event enable for when the client connect the first time.
In ISE I have an Authorization Profile that just say VLAN ID/Tag 158 (the VLAN that the device should go to) an it is added to the Authorization rule of the profiled device. CoA is set to Reauth.
When the client connects I get three events in ISE:
    1.
    Authentication failed :
22056 Subject not found in the applicable identity store(s)

Has anyone got this to work? Do I need to add FlexConnect groups? If so then why?
    Regards,
    Philip

    I think you're hitting CSCua58554
The bugtoolkit description is horrible....  From what I recall when I ran into it, I believe that Flex connect is having a problem with Mac filtering based AAA override on open wlans (and/or CWA based).  In general, AAA override works fine when it is from like an eap authentication.
We had to use a 7.3 ES to resolve it.....
Looks like it is implemented in 7.4 though.....     If you dont want to join the 7.4 bandwagon quite yet, you might could ask TAC for an ES of 7.3,  don't think they have a 7.2 build.

  • CALL DOES NOT ROUTE OUT THE LOCAL GATEWAY

Local calls will not route out the local Gateway of branch1 to the PSTN or from the PSTN back to branch1, however they will route out either CorpHQ or branch2 backup gateways. When I go into the route group configuration for branch1, and remove the backup gateways, I get a fast busy tone when I dial the local number. I know the MGCP Gateway at branch1 is functioning because when I dial 911 and run debug ISDN Q931, the call routes properly through branch1, so I have a call routing problem. I ran DNA and it came back as ROUTE THIS PATTERN and all of the number translations looked accurate, so I didn't have to check for any block patterns. I'm not getting any errors on the calling party phone display. When I deleted the route pattern for the branch1 site and forced it to use the global route pattern, I received a debug output on branch1. I do not know a debug command (such as debug voip dial-peer or debug ccsip messages) to use for an MGCP Gateway to see if the call is actually reaching the Gateway.
    I have checked the following:
    the route pattern configuration
    the translation pattern configuration
the called party transformation pattern configuration
the route list configuration to make sure the correct route group for branch1 was selected
the route group configuration to make sure that the branch1 Gateway was first in the order of selected devices
the route pattern configuration to make sure the correct route list for branch1 ist selected
the Gateway configuration to make sure it's using the device pool for branch1 and to make sure the called party transformation CSS for the branch1 Gateway is applied
the device pool configuration to make sure it's using the route group branch1
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
    Regards,
    Ron

    Hi Nishant:
Please see the attachments for the Gateway pages
The significant digits for inbound calls for all 3 gateways is '4'
Please see the running-configs of the 3 gateways and the PSTN
Please see the debugs for the INBOUND calls
    Many Thanks,
    Ron
The following INBOUND call from the PSTN to 2065011001 is now working, however it is supposed to be routing through CorpHQ and is instead routing through Branch1. Please see 'DEBUG VOIP CCAPI INOUT' & 'DEBUG ISDN Q931'

  • Approval process monitor status turn to "Initiated" instead of "Pending", so awe is not routed

When I submit a transaction, after successful submission in approval process monitor the status has turn "Initiated" instead of "Pending". That's why it's showing "Not Routed" for the next approving person. So that worklist is not populated.
Please suggest me to resolve this issue.

Looking at the error message "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" , It appears hostname and port may be incorrect. Review the targets.xml under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\emd and
emoms.properties under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\config folder to make sure host ( sap_solman) and port (1527) are correct.
As far as setting the environment variables goes, you can go to control panel -> system -> advanced -> environment variables and set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID
