RVS4000 resets to factory defaults

I just installed a new RVS4000 router (firmware V1.3.0.5), configured it to my LAN, saved the setting and created a configuration backup. 4 times now in less than a week I lost access to the internet only to find the router reset to factory defaults.
I can restore from the backup, but a day or 2 later and it resets again.
Any suggestions - or do you think it's a hardware problem and I should return it for replacement?

Please give this a try. First you need to upgrade to the latest firmware version(1.3.2.0). After upgrading to the latest version of the software the next step is to reset the device back to factory defaults. Then after the reset to factory, load the device manually. Next step after loading manually is to save your config file. This should take care of the reset back to factory default issue. If this does not take care of the problem please call into the support center. The number to call is 1-866-606-1866. Also please if you have to call in let the support center engineer know the steps you have already taken.

The exact procedure for HDD recovery is described here:

But therefore the original OS from Toshiba (Vista) must be installed. If you have installed another OS you have to use the Toshiba recovery disk that you created.
The installation from Toshiba recovery disk you can start if you boot from CD/DVD drive. Then follow the screen instructions to install Windows.
Its very easy because all drivers and tools will be installed automatically.

E3000 needs to be restarted regularly, sometimes resets to factory default

My E3000 needs to be restarted at least once a week. Pings to the router will slowly lag over time and reach 700+ after several days from my wired desktop. Sometimes during the restart the router will also reset to factory default settings.
So far I've installed the 1.0.02 (build 4) firmware and done the restart while holding the button. The new firmware has greatly improved my wireless performance but I have no idea what to do next.

Follow the below mentioned settings and then check.

I'm having a bit of trouble confirming that the ZyXEL is a combination modem & wireless-N router. If it is, then you really won't get any advantages of using the 802.11g AirPort.
If the range of your ZyXEL is limited, you may find that doing either or both of the following will help: 1) Move the ZyXEL so that it is higher vs. lower in the room, that is away from any closed areas or placed in a metal cabinet, and 2) Changing radio channels. The latter is especially important in you live in an area where there are a number of competing Wi-Fi.
A good utility to find out, is iStumbler. You would use this to find these other Wi-Fi and find which have the strongest signal value. Those that do, you would also want to note which channel they are operating on, and then, change yours to one that is at least 3-5 channels away. So, for example, if you find strong ones on channels 1 & 6, change yours to 11.

PAP2T - NA cannot reset to factory default

i bought PAP2T-NA adapter from amazon and I want to upgrade the firmware. I am trying to access the admin page but it keeps asking me for the password. I do not know. I tried entering **** and 73738# also but it keeps saying enter the password and hit # sign.

You can rstore from backup but you must restore the iPod
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Why WRT610N Automatically Reset to Factory Defaults?

I have been using the WRT610 for few months, this router and others such as NAS, W1Max Modem, Switches power source connecto thru Belkin Power Surge Proctector. This few months I found many times the router automatically reset to factory defaults after power down and up. I have long history with Linksys products and this is the first ever router that automatic reset itself to factory defaults and I can find out why.
For quick power on off I always power down the entire power source at Belkin on/off switch and always wait at least more than 5 seconds, but many times after the power on/off I found cannot connect to the router and all I found are the router reset to factory defaults, any one can explain why and how?

I have finally got the time to upgrade the firmware and it turn out to be the same version as my router existing firmware. The reason I did that because the router reset itself to faultry setting again. Wonder anyone has such experience as mine? I roughly recorded it almost once per month the router reset by itself.

I think where it is taking the most time is in the deleting from the print queue. I have an HP desktop computer with 3gb ram on windows xp. even if all I am doing is printing a test page with no other programs started it takes for ever to print a page.

Have you tried turning off bidirectional communication?
Open your printers and faxes folder, right click the icon for your printer, and choose printer properties.
Go to the ports tab, and un-check "Enable Bidirectional Communication".
Restart your computer, and try printing to see if the issue has been resolved.

WRT160Nv3 has resetted to factory defaults himself

Hello, today I got up and discovered that my WRT160Nv3 router has resetted to factory defaults himself, the name of the Wifi network was "linksys" and all configurations were the defaults...
That's normal? This is the first time it happens.

I've never had that happen....and I don't think it's normal. Make sure you're using WPA or WPA2 wireless security and don't use "admin" for your router password. Also make sure your router is not over heating and is well ventilated....at least 2 feet away from other electronic devices.
Search the forum/board as I'm sure other people have had it happen.

LRT214 Router unexpectedly reset to factory defaults.

Last month I replaced my long lived old RVS4000 with the LRT214. I have had my LRT214 for a little over a month and have been running the December firmware update (LRT2x4_v1.0.3.09_20141226) with no problems. Last night, I tried to log on to make some config changes and the router would no longer accept my username/password. Everything appeared to be working fine except that I could not log on to the router. After trying a few different things, I decided to reboot the router. When it came back up, it was back to factory defaults. I tried restoring the mirror config, and that was default as well. I then tried to restore the config from a backup I had done (tried both startup.config and mirror.config) and the router would not accept any password I supplied to read the backup files. Back to square one I decided to reflash, and reconfigure everything from scratch. So far so good.
Has anyone else run into the LRT214 mysteriously resetting everything?
Has anyone tested the backup restore process?
I plan on testing the Backup/Restore myself tonight for sanity in case there is an issue with this version of the software.

I haven't had this happen but I only recently installed the new firmware. AFAIK other users aren't reporting this issue.
It's a good IT policy to "Copy Startup to Mirror" once in a while.

E4200 reset to factory default problem

due to password loss, I get to reset the E4200 to factory default in order for router re-config.
Aftr pressing the reset buttom for 10sec, the router reset. After then, I could not access the router via browser with 192.168.1.1 at URL entry. My PC IPv4 setup: 192.168.1.11; subnet=255.255.255.0
But, ping 192.168.1.1 from PC was OK without packet loss. So router was restored with 192.168.1.1 and cable connection was OK.
Where should I look into now?

After the reset you could not access the router page anymore? Try unplugging the power of the router for 10-15 seconds. Once the power light goes solid, try accessing the router page again. If ever you still can't access it, try using another browser. If no other browser is available, try connecting another computer to the router. Check if you will be able to access the router page using another ocmputer.

Resetting to factory default?

I have seriously messed up some settings in my server, I'd like to reset windows server to the factory default, I am using windows server 2008... I would just put the 2012 trial inside of it, but I cant get it to work, So I am going to stick with my 2008
for now. What I am asking is how do I reset it to the default?
