RVS4000 V2 locks up every 1 - 2 days

Hello everybody! My brand new RVS4000 V2 replaced old USR8003 router in the same home network. The USR8003 did not require any user intervention for years. Running RVS4000 in the same network and with the same LAN IP address (192.168.123.254) requires power cycling every day or two. The router is connected to Motorola SB6120 cable modem. The local network includes a few PCs (WinXP SP3), two LinkSys APs, Roku, DirecTV receiver and a few WiFi devices. The router runs in Gateway mode with DHCP server enabled. Most of the devices have static IP addresses within DHCP address range. When the router locks up, it looks like a normal situation because the LEDs are lit the same way as usual indicationg ports activities. When it is locked, the RESET button has no effect as well as web and telnet interfaces. The only option is to power cycle the router, which restores the working condition until another lock up. The following actions have been taken:
upgraded firmware to V2.0.3.2
Restored factory defaults
Disabled IPS, QoS, most of Firewall optional functions
Moved statis IP addresses in the DHCP address range
It does not look like a harware issue, but rather a software bug. Right now I am running the Syslog server to correlate lock ups with the modem reboots (Yes, it happens from time to time, but did not afect USR8003). I cannot find any information from Cisco documentation about static IP addreses on the LAN and if they have to be outside the DHCP adderss range. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Tom,
Thank you for your comments. I will move static clients out of the DHCP range and see what happens. So far, that was the biggest change I made since the last lock up. The RVS4000 ran for 2 days, 20:54:41 hours already. During this time there were three modem reboots, therefore, I do not think lock ups are related to the modem. When you said "upsteam", did you mean WAN or something else? The thing is that LinkSys WAPs have two MACs addresses associated with the same IP.address. Does this count as an IP conflict within the LAN? The WAPs have statis IP addresses.
Thank you,
Boris.

I have Photoshop Elements 10 on a new Mac, using Yosemite 10.1.1 - PE locks up every time I try to sign in. This software was restored to this computer from Time Machine after a theft of my old Mac. How can I fix this? It keeps telling me that there are missing files, too. If I upgrade to Elements 12 or beyond, will this fix the problem?

You can't sign in because there is nothing to sign in to. For PSE 10 the only sign in was to photoshop.com, which has been dead and gone for a year and half. Just skip the sign in. Reinstalling will not change this.

  • Preview locks up every time I try to print a pdf.

Hello all, got a problem that popped up this afternoon, hopefully I can get some help. I've been using preview since I installed lion last week without issue. This morning I was printing from it with no problem, all of the sudden now it locks up every time I try to print, I have to use option, command, esc. to get out of the program. I've been searching quite a bit and can't find a solution, would appreciate any help, thanks!

I have been having this issue as well - permissions settings (in other posts) didn't fix it.
I went into system preferences and set the default printer as a one of my brother printers instead of "last used" (which was pointing to my canon)... I can now print in Preview to PDF or my other printers but if i select my printer as the canon - it locks up again -so at least that narrows it down and i am now able to print to PDF (and my other printers) from preview. hope it helps somone to get access to other printers and the pdf functionin Preview (haven't checked textedit yet)

  • ITunes keeps losing my library every 2-3 days!

iTunes keeps losing my library every 2-3 days. Completely erasing all songs and playlists. This is incredibly annoying and forces me to redo it all AGAIN.
Any way for me to solve this problem?

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping.  Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to a recent state. Look for a recent .tmp file that is similar in size to the .itl files in the Previous iTunes Libraries folder. If it has happened repeatedly you may want the earliest such file generated since the last iTunes upgrade.
If applicable, see iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
I've noticed more of these missing library posts of late and a common factor to most since I started asking is AVG Anti-Virus. It seems in some cases it might be at least part of the reason why the library file disappears. Try excluding the iTunes folder from any AV scanning process.

  • CRS Engine restarts every 2-3 days due to NOT_OK response from Watchdog

    Hi,
we have 2 Cisco Unified IP IVR servers running version 7.0(1)SR03_Build011. Every 2-3 days, the CRS engine restarts at different times on both servers due to a Watchdog Thread received NOT_OK response from process CRS Engine.
These servers run independently of each other - (i.e not an HA pair) - but over the weekend, both servers had a CRS engine restart at the same time. I've looked at the MIVR and MCVD logs and they confirm this, but are so detailed, I can't actually still see what the cause is. There are a number of errors of different types, where the log seems to show a lot of 'exceptions', but it seems to lose connection to the Call Manager that causes the restart and it mentions buffer space.
We have a 3rd server which is not part of the solution that the other 2 servers provide, but it has the same OS, the same CRS application version and is connected to the same Call Manager; (version 6.1.3-200); but this server doesn't restart. It is on the same subnet as the other 2 servers.
The event log looks like this:-

    Hi
If it happened to two servers at the same time then I'd be looking off box for problems.
    - Check whether your CCMs were stable (use RTMT and check for events at the time)
    - Run a 'show spanning-tree active detail | i VLAN|hange' or similar to check for STP topology changes on the VLAN the servers are in. Short outages caused by bad port configs in the VLAN can cause CCX/IPIVR to get upset briefly and fail over when communication between different processes on the same box fall over; it can be very sensitive. Maybe also do a show log on the switches to see whether any other significant events happened at the same time.
    Regards
    Aaron

  • IMac Freezing after every 2-4 days (randomly)

Hi folks, I recently bought a 2014 iMac (21.5) inch 16GB machine. I'm going batty with it randomly freezing (beach ball) once every 2-4 days for no apparent reason. I've even looked at console logs and can't figure out. I've resetted SMC/PV(whatever), even reinstalled Mavericks (using a clean bootable drive). We use the iMac for two main purposes: Plex Media streaming (once a day really) and we use Juniper VPN to connect to our corporate network (which explains why you see juniper there)
    Any help?

  • Is there a default password reset setting somewhere? Mine is resetting itself about every 4-5 days.

About every 4-5 days my password stops working and I have to reset it. The process goes smoothly enough but it is a pain in my rear. I read somewhere that at some point there was an option for a PW reset at regular intervals.. I never saw or did that. Is there some way to change that setting somewhere? I talked to apple support and they were no help at all. I guess i can live with it but trying to remember a new PW for all my devices every week *****. I made the jump to apple and bought an iphone and ipad over a year ago.. some aspects i like very much but some of these stupid glitches are making me want to abandon apple alltogether.

Ok, I have enjoyed successful incremental backups for one day. Now after my system had gone into sleep mode and I woke it up the next morning... it was hung on a backup.
I cancelled the process (because it still will never stop backing up if I choose that in progress bar screen),
tried again later, and it hung again.
Does the computer sleep mode do something wacky to the hard drive?
I do not have the 'put hard disk to sleep when possible' option on, and I have the computer set to sleep only when I tell it to.
Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

  • My iPad keeps locking itself every few seconds, any ideas how to fix it... Drives me mad having to put my pass code in all the time and the screen keeps going blank :( HELP!

My iPad keeps locking itself every few seconds, any ideas how to fix it... Drives me crazy as the screen keeps going blank and I have to constantly put in my pass code every few seconds. Can someone help me out please. The pass code lock is set at 10 minutes but it's happening every few seconds :(

I've run into the issue and it seems to be related to an app not fully supporting the iOS you're on, the reboot doesn't usually solve it.
I've solved it in the following manner(s):
    1) Backup the device to iCloud, then erase the iPad (Content and Network Settings).
    2) Setup the iPad and choose to restore from iTunes/iCloud Backup (wherever you backed it up)
    3) Perform any software updates
I have not tried simply performing the software updates (which may fix it, but if it doesn't you won't be able to perform the above steps).
    Enjoy.

  • Bought my I-Pad in Nov.  Just Wi-Fi.  Use almost every day and re-charge battery at 50%-- usually every 3-4 days.  Just finished re-charging to 100% today and was playing a video when it just stopped working.  Only picture of the Apple logo.

Bought my I=pad (wi-fi) in Nov. Use sometime alsomst every day and re-charge battery at 50%.  Usually every 3-4 days.  Just finished re-charging to 100% and was playing a video.  Stopped and I turned it off and when I turned it back on, just got the Apple Logo.  is the battery no good after only 6 months?

The battery is not likely the culpret.  Something to hung up.  You need to reboot:
Hold the home and power button at the same time for about 10 seconds (Keep holding past the swipe to shut down) and when the Apple Logo again appears, let go and your iPad should come back to life.

  • Sending notifications every after 1 day

    Hi Experts,
I need to send notification mail every after 1 day, if the task assigned to the user is not completed.
I tried with adding notification for that action, by selecting duration for 1 day.
But it triggers only once, if the assigned action is not completed before that day.
I want that to trigger after every single day, till taht action is not executed/completed. Is that possible?
Please help me out with this.
    Thanks & Regards,

Unfourtunaly I don't think there is a way to do this with standard objects. The only way to do it is developing a separate application outside the GP, let say a J2EE application, which registers the notifications that need to be send, read this pending notifications and send the emails. When the task is completed, the task will need to notify this J2ee application about it and delete the scheduled notifications. You will also need to use the Portal Scheduler to run this every day or so. The other thing you may struggle with is the calendar, are you going to send notifications on Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays or in general in just working days? There is no standard calendar in the Portal as in SAP HR to use.
It's a bit of a complex landscape but is the only one I can thing of, and the one we were about to implement.
    Cheers,
    Pablo

  • IPhoto 9.4.3 locks up every time I try to do cards or photo books

iPhoto 9.4.3 locks up every time I try to do cards or photo books. Any solutions?

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

Reset it by holding the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.

  • Why is my Apple ID being locked out every time I go to use it?  I haven't even attempted to log in for about 4 or 5 days, but today on my first attempt to do so, it said my account had been locked for security reasons.  This is the third time.

I only sign in to iTunes' store about once a week or so.  But during each of my last 3 attempts (on different days, several days apart) on my first attempt to enter my password and hit submit, I am immediately told that my Apple account has been locked for security reasons and it wants to take me to a page to reset my 'forgotten' password.  I am using the CORRECT password.
Perhaps someone else is trying to break into my account or is mis-entering theirs but my account should not be getting locked like this.  It is very frustrating to have to go through the reset password procedure each and every time I want to go into the store.  It seems to me that Apple really doesn't want me to buy any more apps from them as they keep refusing me entry into my own account, each and every time I have tried to use it, for the past few weeks.  I am not their best customer, but they aren't giving me much of a welcome invitation to become one, if I'm going to be treated like this.
I just bought my iPhone 4 less than 2 months ago.  I paid extra money to upgrade early, just to get this phone because it was so highly recommended by everyone I spoke with in different stores (BestBuy and Verizon).  I even bought the 2 year upgrade to my Apple services in case I needed to ever call them, and so far I haven't had to, yet.  But I definitely will call them if this isn't straightened out.
It looks like this other user could be tracked and an email could be sent to them from Apple to let them know what they are doing - trying to sign into the wrong account, and are locking somebody else out of their own account because of their error....and to remind them of their correct information or how to get it and to write it down or save it somewhere so they don't keep on doing this.
I have seen literally DOZENS of other people in these discussions with exactly the same issue that I'm having so it is NOT an isolated incident, and it seems to be a growing problem as Apple's sales and user base continues to grow, so this problem is seriously needing to be addressed in some way, and soon, before they start losing new customers because of it.  If I was still within my original 14 day return period with this phone, I would definitely be returning it and buying an Android model because of how frustrating this is to me.  If my bank was doing this to me, I'd have already switched banks by now if they hadn't fixed it - just to give an example of how I feel about this.

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
    That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.
    Thanks for listening,
    Melissa
